Easter Eggs in Super Mario RPG (Switch) - DPadGamer

Super Mario RPG legend of the Seven Stars got a remake for the Nintendo switch so here I am making a remake of my video looking at e eggs in superar RPG know that there will be some spoilers but not much has changed in 20 years anyways let's start with a super secret code usable anywhere in the game just pause to open the menu to input down up right left ZL ZR ZL ZR B and you'll get this toad to pop up he'll wonder what the code did and start checking our status just to note that the stats the experience and well everything is the same because the code doesn't actually do anything but it is a fun little detail nonetheless next when saving your game Mar Will normally tip his cap to the player however if you try to save to a different slot you'll get a confirmation if you want to overwrite this new slot if you say no to that then try again say no again and repeat when he finally save over that slot after 10 or so NOS Mario will be angry and if you say no and say again Mar will be kind of sad from then on for every additional no he will alternate between sad and angry which is oddly relatable onwards we find ourselves in Mushroom Kingdom home to Peach's castle and a whole bunch of toads one of them a young little mushroom can be found running in circles in the South corner of the map if you talk to them they say that they want to Adventure alongside Mario they also mention knowing how to get Bowser's goat and response Bowser Roars sending the kids skedaddling into their house speaking to them again will scare them back into jogging outside once more while they're running around if you time it right you can jump onto their head which causes Mario to fall back off and spin around noticeably dizzy which is a fun little detail across the path over in the item shop you can annoy the shopkeep by jumping up on his shelves and in the castle we can visit Peach's room and check this spot to find Peach's uh something who knows doing this with peach in your group causes her to reprimand you for snooping through someone else's stuff which is like that's fair leaving the Mushroom Kingdom when visiting caros sewers for the first time time mow will lead the charge and you can try leaving him behind causing him to hop out and exclaim that if you go outside I go outside I guess he doesn't like being left behind over at the Frog Pond you can annoy malow's Grand Frogger by speaking to him from a top his table and in Ros toown after defeating a Boer you can sleep at gaz's house to see this game's first of many cameos when you wake up sleeping in their bed is linked from The Legend of Zelda series and while he won't speak when interact with you'll hear the secret revealed sound before moving on to the next location you have the option of visiting the pipe Vault this location forces Mario to navigate through a one tile wide path filled with Goombas PR plants and other enemies set to a rearrangement of the classic underground theme all of which is a fun omage to the original Super Mario Bros game and probably more specifically 1-2 also if you head down one of the pipes that a PR plant can pop out of you'll find yourself here where for the first and last time in the game Mario can perform a kind of slide under this block to grab a frog coin I imagine this was meant to recreate what it's like to slip into a one block tall space while Mario is tall onwards we find ourselves going through booster's Tower which actually has a lot of details in the lobby on the receptionist desk is a statue of magitech armor from the final fantasy series and heading up the tower you'll find this room with curtains that can walk through turning Mario into his 2D Sprite this only works once per playr and you can't keep this form outside this room so it's not useful but it looks cool and at the top the tower in the room where you have a potential encounter with booster there is a basket of toys within we can see a miniature Samus Aaron from the Metroid series as well as the mascot for the famicom disc system as well as Rob the robot everyone's favorite buddy and a little car with eyes a character from the stunt racer FX game I should also know that while going up booster's Tower you'll come across a bright green button which when pressed does something over and booster pass going there you'll find a door has opened up on the west western edge of the first room leading to a narrow path of platforms and spiky Boys on one of the platforms you'll be confronted by a sniffer and if they can defeat us they'll earn the spot as sniffer number four the thing is the sniffer has awful stats often dealing just one damage so I had to go and walk directly into the fist of higher level enemies until my entire team had just a few health returning I challenged the sniffer and just so happened to lose which doesn't actually give you a game over instead the sniffer will explain that they won and they'll head off to booster Tower you can then leave the room and reenter to find another sniffer this one aiming to be sniffer number five you can lose to him leave again and return until sniffers 5 6 7 and 8 all head off to the tower at the top of the tower we'll find sniffers 4 5 6 and 7even hanging out all happy that they've been promoted well it turns out there was no spot for the last one which is quite unfortunate there's no reward for doing this but it is nice to help out a fellow shy guy after booster Tower is marrymore home to to this Kingdom's only chapel after saving Peach from booster the Toads will resume their wedding which you can interrupt by jumping on the organ in the corner if that's what you want to do you can also take a rest at the maramor hotel which has an expensive room costing 200 coins this is real fancy with a personal Bell hop attached shower and a robe that's too small to wear what's interesting is that you could actually choose to spend another night without paying each one costing an additional 100 coins that you must pay before being able to leave if you cannot pay you'll be forced to work as a bell pop which means leading customers up to the room fulfilling their every wish and then seeing them off this can actually be very helpful because you can get various items from guests as tips next throughout Star Hill are a number of fallen stars with faces which you can actually interact with to hear wishes made by The Game's characters most of which are granted by the end of said game you can even find malow which makes him embarrassed and it's okay he's a crybaby but he's our crybaby the only unfulfilled wish reads I want to help out my older brother Mario made by by Luigi who only shows up in the credits parade we'd put the L in Luigi onwards when revisiting our good friend Johnny Jonathan Jones in the sunken ship we can hop on his head his reaction isn't mad he's just disappointed oh and by the way when defeating speich at the edge of Seaside town but before moving on to Land's End you can visit the Mushroom Kingdom and find Sam's Aaron resting up for Mother Brain as for Landen itself not much to say other than the fact that in this room where you have to jump across a bunch of pillars and use a stary Cannon to launch back up should you fall you can actually shoot Mario into open air which results in this cartoonish animation before Mario hops back into the cannon in monstro town is perhaps this game's most well-known secret boss like with the SNES version you can gain access to this Boss by first buying fireworks in mulville and trading them for Shiny Stone which reacts with the otherwise locked door within is a spooky Dimension where we find clex Dark Knights of Vonda his imposing 2D appearance music music name abilities and so on arom Ma sh the final fantasy series we'll talk a bit more about them soon but first within Barrel volcano is Cinder toad formerly known as hoopio who runs an item and armor shop in the corner of his shop are boxes with three figurines from left to right is an r-wing from starf Fox then Captain Falcon's Blue Falcon and Goro's fire Stingray both from fzero I know this is nothing new but if you think about it the lore implications go crazy now we've just about reached the end so let's get into some po game spoilers after beating the game a toad will deliver a voucher for one free stay at the previously mentioned marry Moore Hotel using this voucher and staying the night Mar will go to sleep while Gino stands by the window and watches a star fall onto Star Hill following his suggestion we go check it out and starting in the second room we find new pink wishes which have been made by a number of the game's bosses and if you're not sure where to go the Frog stage can always point you towards any unfinished business I won't get into the specifics of every boss refight because I think think it's something worth enjoying on your own but I'll note that each one is accompanied by a bit of new dialogue and all of the fights have some sort of gimmick or unique win condition meaning they're not just stat checks you can refight the bosses in any order but they all must be defeated before the Frog stage will point you back towards montro Town using the extra Shiny Stone given to us by Johnny we can head back into this pocket Dimension to find ux 3D oh no he's hot and 3D while this is not technically a stat check oh boy it is difficult and I was only able to beat it with the help and guidance of chatters when I streamed fighting a number of these bosses and uh oh oh I did it oh I murdered the anime after defeating ux 3D if you go and defeat Mr Smithy again you'll get to see the closing EP blog this time of just adjusted to feature all of the bosses that you fought there's no other rewards for doing this so I'll just say that I like that the Remake added extra bits of story and purpose to what otherwise could have been just some fun refights after the credits and just before the end I should know that there will be some fireworks and just like in the original what shape the fireworks take on depends on how many fireworks you have in your inventory normally it's a mushroom but if you have at least three fireworks it becomes a flower and at least five fireworks it's a star ooh shiny isn't that neat anyways now now that we've reached the literal end of the game it's time to end
