the link to download is in my description below so definitely check out this game thank you so much to them for sponsoring this video denille NV is continuing to prove himself to be one of the most versatile filmmakers working today his movies like prisoners enemy insande arrival these are nothing alike he's constantly adapting to whatever the genre is whatever the expectations of that film is and with Dune and now Dune part two he continues to prove that he has found a way to adapt Frank Herbert's original novel which many people thought would be extremely difficult to do and no doubt it was the world that he's created with these two films but especially in part two is so well realized and feels inhabited by all different kinds of people with very specific identifiable cultures there's even a language that he had invented for this movie you understand how their ecosystem Works how they get water and how precious water is to them there's a scene where a character cries and someone rubs the tear away and says don't waste your water like that's how much they care about it how important it is to them and when you see the method in which they obtain water it does seem kind of gross at first in fact a character vomits but to survive you got to do what you got to do what's also really amazing and I can imagine extremely difficult on the page is to explain how all of these different faiths work their beliefs some people view Paul as a messiah other people think that that's just some madeup and there's all these names that are thrown around and you hear them so many times that you begin to understand how their world Works how their beliefs work and you don't need endless Exposition where someone sits down and says this is how we believe and this is how we believe and I'm going to explain you the history of our belief system you just see how important it is on their faces through the actor's performances and you start to recognize how each and every one of their faiths differs from one another the sound design for the movie is absolutely euphoric you often hear Whispers in the background with certain characters who are having visions or nightmares about things that they think might come to fruition and that's sometimes in the background of scenes where you just realize that that's probably what they're thinking about even though they're in another conversation with a character that has nothing to do with the vision you know they already had but you can see on their face they're thinking about that and having that in the sound design really amplifies the moment but also Han Zimmer again you know I was sitting there thinking one of my earliest theatrical memories is seeing The Lion King and being so impressed with the music and of course not knowing anything about musical composition or who Han Zimmer was but I'm 35 now and I'm still going to new movies and still feeling like instantly purchasing the soundtrack when I get out currently as of this recording there was only like two songs I could get officially I can't wait for the whole thing to drop because it's really good I mean surprise surprise Timothy shalam and Zena both work beautifully together in the film I really gen genuinely bought the relationship and it didn't feel cheesy it didn't feel forced it didn't feel like well we have to do this because this is what these movies do right it really worked very well for me and both of them were just so well fleshed out and believable as people you completely understood what each one of them wanted out of the other and hoped for the other in regards to their future but also it was just very romantic I found their relationship extremely heartfelt and touching it should come as no surprise that director photog photography Greg Frasier has once again solidified his stance in the pantheon of excellent cinematographers every single wide shot in this movie is a work of art the close-ups are more for the actors and the lighting is really great for all of those close-ups but whenever Den cuts to a wide it just kind of takes your breath away Den VNV is so good with spatial awareness in the image having things in the foreground that are soft focusing on the farthest farthest away point in this desert plane and you feel as if you're looking across 3,000 football fields or these giant ships in the sky that seem to dwarf everything around them there's an overhead shot of some characters pushing through a crowd of people that look like ants on an ant farm the stuff that he's pulling off visually in this film you don't see it anywhere I I really was very happy with this movie and I have wanted to see a film like this in theaters for many months months now the first couple months of this year were not as good as the first couple months of last year we had some actual pretty good movies in January last year like Megan and even Gerard Butler's playe the first few months this year have been not great this is like okay movies are back thank you I needed that this film as well as Godzilla minus one have made me very excited to go to the movies let's talk about Austin Butler who plays a villain here alongside Dave Batista who's excellent in the film but Austin Butler is giving off like major Frieza Vibes here and I mean that as a compliment he is killing so many of his own men because they do like one wrong thing and it's like all right you're dead bye and I won't spoil his line because it's super super vicious but he kills a guy and says something right afterwards and I was like damn that is the coldest I have ever heard there's also some surprise casting choices at least they were for me I of course won't ruin it for you I don't know sometimes there's news articles about these things that I miss but there were some people who showed up in the movie that I was like Oh okay that's cool I didn't know they were going to be in the movie and that's exciting so hopefully that continues a trend into the part three that I'm sure we'll get this type of sci-fi that is so thought-provoking that really does take its time in its scenes with its characters excellent World building a constant sense of dread and urgency about the future really amazing action scenes absolutely topnotch nearly invisible CGI this is exactly the type of movie that I want out of a massive big budget sci-fi epic like this denv continues to impress me constantly he is one of the best filmmakers working today and I highly recommend doing part two also this weekend I'm going to be posting another Feature Presentation video I hope you guys are looking forward to that I'm having a great time making those and it's for a movie that I had no idea that I had never discussed until I looked at my channel and I was like I've never talked about First Blood how have I never talked about that movie I think that movie is much better than people give it credit for and I also think it's aged very well so look forward to that this weekend guys thank you so much as always for watching look forward to more videos very soon and if you like this you can click right here and get stuck [Music]
