you to celebrate moments how many of you have heard me say that all right somebody say rewind pastor all right I want you to think in decades somebody same think in decades so a decade is ten years so when we step into 2020 it's going to be a new decade so before this year is over you should have your next decade playing I'm gonna give y'all some strategy on how to do that but I want you to think in decades I want you to mock down I want you to mark down where you're gonna be or how old you're gonna be in 2030 not 2020 2030 all right so I want you to think in what I want you to think in decades then I want you to plan in that means I want you to plan for 2020 I want you to work in months and I want you to live in a day cause this is the day that the Lord has made and I want you to celebrate moment what does that got to do with us pastor Jess what did that has to do is as you're getting ready to get out of the month of June and into the month of July there's two things that challenge you to do and some of you've already done it I had it on social media number one it's the be in church the last day of the month give yourself a hand amen but the second thing this day is not complete until before midnight you have written down your top three things that you want to accomplish in the month of July because listen VGC you cannot plan in the same month okay so when you step into a month it's all about execution it's not about planning in fact you can plan in the same day that's why your mom and your grandmama taught you put your clothes out the night before [Music] the reason why you always late or one in late for something is because you didn't plan it that night before before I went to bed on last night I took a picture of all this outfit and I got on and I send it to my stylist just that I said what do you think about the shoes with this and that he said yes i quested i hanged it up so when I woke up this morning I'm not in my club trying to figure it out Chantelle who does my hair I'll text me she was running late on yesterday she said pastor I can come in the morning I said oh no I need you to come tonight put that boo on hold and you better come and curl this tonight because if I start in the morning and I haven't planned my day see some of you you fail to plan that's why you plan and fail because you don't have a plane so your goal before the night is over what you want to accomplish July so I have a 10 years plan and then I bring it down to one year then I bring it down to one month in July these are the top three things I want to do don't go to bed tonight the Bible said many of the planes in a man's heart but it's the Lord's purpose that shall prevail and some of you you're praying about some stuff you don't need poise you need a plan you don't need nobody else to send you no oil no no bottle of oil no anointed cloth you need a plan so what you playing it for in July for some of you plan what you're gonna do in the month of July I'm gonna be working out three times a week I'm gonna be hanging out whatever it is and I plan my physical my emotional my spiritual my vocational it really works so I just wanted to drop that nugget to you is that helpful for anybody's that helpful all right I'm I'm gonna help y'all succeed because nothing is worse than shouting people and ain't got nothing to shout about you really want say 2020 by 2020 and beyond 2020 and beyond one of our goal as a church and in partnership with our shine CDC is to provide scholarship over twenty thousand dollars to our students I wish I had somebody in it one of our goal one of our goal one of our goal is to have a scholarship fund of $20,000 mr. $20,000 amen by 2020 and Beyond by 2020 and be our because we believe in investing in young people many of you guys know my story the only reason why I graduated and went to college I can I can get any scholar I can get any student loan because I was from Trinidad and at that time they were not giving student loan to foreigners but at my church beautiful plain and at my church they had a scholarship fund and it would bless me I mean when I went down to just the last squeeze on the toothpaste or the last Sokka told soap dish somebody will send me a care package somebody will see me I mean some old Saint said my church would send me a care package it had toothpaste I'll have toothbrush you'll have some Hershey bars y'all in here what I'm talking about amen and so I was so excited and the presider this morning dr. Butler wave wave your hand dr. dealing with sickle-cell in our family and I love the fact that cam always confessed that he doesn't have our sickle-cell don't have him all right he's carrying sickle-cell all right and so we want to bring a win it's the sickle cell and last week we had a presentation and on June July the 14th rather we are going to be doing a swab for cam because we want to be able to find a solution we want to people to sign up and join God victorious army we got some ministry that absolutely are in dire need and so we're looking for those of you who are educators who are healthcare professional who work on social media you're always on social media following the Kardashian you always you always trying to figure what you you need to put that in a positive way social media and also we are looking for people to help us serve in our soup kitchen and shelters pgc and shine serve those who are homeless and those who are in shelters and so you may sign up for that so you can serve either in which or outreach all right you can serve in social media you can serve as a health care profession if that's your profession you can be an educator or you say you know I want to help serve in terms of providing a meal for the homeless in Washington DC and all the information is out in the lobby we are looking for at least at least 50 of you guys to sign up to help us in regards to any of those become your husband then drop all the way down to the last verse in chapter 1 in which after one verse 22 so now you owe me return together with Ruth d'amour by her daughter-in-law who came back with her from the country of Moab they came to Bethlehem they came to Bladensburg they came to VGC at the beginning of barley harvest oh it's gonna be good today look at your neighbor and give them my son and perfect gift comes from the Lord oh the plan that God has for you is that to harm you is to help you it's not to hinder you is to build you up I've got to stay right there because some of you don't understand the God that you're serving somebody's lied to you and told you that God is out to harm you that God is out to destroy you and God is out to kill you and so when trouble happened you said God why did you let this happen to me God has a plan for your life and the plan of God is good somebody say good that's why when in fact everything God makes is good when he created the heavens and the earth when he created the birds and the fish as the Bible said he looks at it and he said it is good and then when he created man he said it is very good God does not make junk God does not make accident God already preordained pre-established that we are going to be the sons and the daughters of God the Bible says it does not yet appear what we shall be but we know we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is none Geneva said God's got a good plan for you God God's not trying to frustrate you God is trying not to kill you God is not trying to destroy your God's got a plan for your life you got God and the devil twisted I said you got God and the devil mix of the bomber said that the devil is a thief and he comes to only do three things the Bible said that thief comes to he's a good god and he wants to bless us he wants to give God has a plan for you you got to understand that and because God has a plan for your life you are not an accident uh charissa you know knew you gonna give birth to the child y'all in here God already factored into poor choices so there is nothing that surprises God it surprises you but it doesn't surprise God it surprise your mama at this book one out of two books named after women Booth and Esther made it into the 66 books of the Bible and the content of this story is told that it happened in the days when the judges woo now you gotta understand before you shout over the text you have to understand the content of the text it is written in the time of the judges judges is a very important book because if you would ever read the book of Judges there is a phrase that is repeated over and over again in the book of Judges you gotta and this phrase because it tells you how the people in the time of Niomi and boot is function in a in the book of Judges if you flip through the book of Judges I there's a phrase that is repeated over and over again and that phrase is that did what is right in their own eyes if you read the book of Judges it's repeatedly saying over and over again that they did what is right in their own eyes because there was no there was no king there was nobody was ruling and it was just judges and they did what was right in their own eyes I mean listen listen listen that's not a negative thing that is teaching you that when you don't have when you don't have godly leadership something you do what is right in your own eyes and the Bible said there is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end is destruction and all of us are right in our own eyes you can have an argument Johnnie and chastity and Johnny will think he's right and chastity will think she is right everybody is right in their own eyes whenever it's in the period of the judges that means there's not a king there's not a leader it's different judges that lose and because of that every man did what is right in their own eyes now that's not negative all this teaching you is your make decision based on the facts that you get you make decision based on the information you got it if I knew better I would have done better if I knew better I would have acted better if I knew better I might have made a better decision but based on the facts somebody say facts based on the facts based on the fact I made a decision that's all you can do God don't hold you accountable for that god don't beat you over there you made a choice you made a decision based on the facts that you had so that did what was right in their own eyes when you move out from the book of Judges and you drop into the book of Luther you see a family who made a decision a based on the facts they gather number one there is a famine in the land there is a famine in the land there is a recession in the lana there is no food there's no job there's no money and so this man who is mad to miss Naomi Elimelech to son based on the fact that there is no bread in Bethlehem Judah and by the way Bethlehem means bread and Judah
