recently many players including shot mentioned that hold to scope is faster than toggle to scope so when you're on toggle like for the marshall look right click right click all right this is toggle i'll hit hold at first it really seemed to hold this faster which caused a lot of players to switch to hold but is this really the case hey this is cerro your favorite radiant and in this guide i'll be going over all the pros and cons of both hold on toggle and answering the most important question is hold really fast and toggle and should you switch if you already play on toggle first let's test out the scope speed of the op with both toggle and hold as surprising as it is the scope speed of both toggle and hold is exactly 13 frames which is about 220 milliseconds here is a side-by-side comparison of each at least the marshall has to be faster with hold right let's test it out the marshall scope animation speed is seven frames with hold and seven frames of toggle which is about 120 milliseconds notably the scope out is also 7 frames or 120 milliseconds long on both toggle and hold the simple answer for why hold appears to be faster is because with hold you can unscope before the animation finishes while on toggle you must wait until the full animation finishes before you can unscope again this means that if you spam right-click it will appear as if you're scoping in faster with hold now i'll be going over the pros and cons of both so you can decide on which one to utilize in your games let's start with hold the first pro is that it is easier to unscope because you have to let go of right click instead of clicking again this is most useful for players who have their scope sent slower than one if your scope senses rather slow clearing angles while scoped in will be hard and will require a lot of flicking if you're using hold you can unscope and scroll back in easier allowing you to clear angles without staying sculpting the whole time the next pro is that the extra tension can create more control over your mouse this is basically what tense meant when he said he felt more in touch with the up but the cool thing about hold is i'm you're a lot more like in touch with your op i don't know how to explain it this can be a double edged sword as the additional tension can cause extra strain on your wrist and arm and this depends on how tightly you grip your mouse and how long you play but should still be taking into account another con is that you can't double scope with op unless you add another button tense mentions how he is using scroll wheel to scope in twice upwards middle mouse to switch to the toggle zoom like this however if you're like me and you rest your middle finger on your right click using scroll wheel can be problematic this is because your middle finger will be occupied with holding right click to stay scoped in the whole time while your index finger has to switch between using left click to shoot and changing scopes with scroll wheel and since most people are already using their side mouse buttons having a keyboard bind to scope in will be really weird how do you double scope you can't you need to bind this toggle zoom level so you can hold and then hit another button to toggle the zoom level but that using hold can also be tiring or uncomfortable when holding an angle for an extended period of time lastly it can be difficult for csgo players to transition to hold due to their hundreds or thousands of hours with toggle moving on to the pros of toggle with toggle you only have to focus on left clicking it provides more dexterity and flexibility depending on your grip style you're also able to double scope with right click instead of using weird keybinds and most importantly you're able to stay sculpting the whole time this isn't call of duty where you need to quick scope invalerant it is always better to scope in before you pick an angle and see an enemy if you are already scoped in then the scope speed doesn't even matter when using toggle it is easier to stay sculpting for longer periods of time this makes it easier to hold and peak angles and can cause less wrist and arm strain a con of toggle is that it is slower to unscope because you have to click twice instead of letting go of right click this shouldn't be a problem if you play like this but should still be taking into consideration for most this means you have to be smarter when you scope in as you can constantly switch between scope and hip fire finally for some the reduced tension can cause less control or feel of the mouse as less of your hand is gripping the actual mouse there isn't a specific right or wrong when it comes to toggle versus holdup the biggest thing i suggest however is that you stick to what you've been using the longest once you have built a high level of comfort a change is really not necessary the idea is that you don't break what you practice just make sure to scope in before you peek an angle and you should be good to go either way don't play ballerina like it's call of duty and remember to have fun if you want to see an in-depth operator guide then check out this video right here
