Don't get bit by the trapdoor .. UNBOXING

[Music] hi everyone welcome back to my channel so here we are back again another Tom Patterson unboxing I know I just did one a couple videos ago when I unbox the velvet spider and the exa mineus but of course right after I got that shipment Tom told me that he was getting in something that I have also been asking for for quite a long time finally and I could not turn it down so this is a species that you guys have been asking me to get forever and honestly every time somebody asks me when are you gonna get this species I just get a little bit sadder because I can never find it but Tom got it no self-control also I have the window open so I'm sorry if you hear little animals chirping and stuff but it's really nice outside and I just am one of those people that refused to use the air conditioner unless it's like 90 degrees or more so we're just gonna deal I am a little nervous though because with this unboxing Tom warned me not to get bit by the trap door he told me that a lot of times they play dead and then they get really bitey so that really definitely um is concerning us so yeah let's just get right into it cuz I yeah okay so it is the moment of truth we are going to unbox this package below tarantula cat wolf fancy oh my god these are amazing so if you guys didn't know Tom actually is a really great artist and he drew these this one is like one of my favorite thinks he's ever drawn so that's like amazing and it looks like yeah he also included like a ton of stickers look how cool now just this alone was worth the package but let's keep going [Applause] all right so we have one two three jumping spiders I have at least a pair in here and I believe two females so let's start with them and let's end with this hopefully we arrived okay so I'm having to reuse some of these older enclosures I have not been able to go to the Container Store in months yeah this is what I have and I'm just literally using what I have for this whole video I think these should be good for the jumpers I do have this nice piece of work bark that I really don't want to break but we have to today so that they have something so these aren't going to be like they're permanent enclosures again this is just what I have so this is what I can't do it this is what we're just gonna have to make do so that's just how it be today yeah I wish I actually like glued these down but it is what it is I've already made a huge mess Oh perfect so he actually wrote what is female and what is male on it so I was actually gonna put the mail in the smaller one and the females and the bigger one since I believe the females do you get bigger of course I forgot my tongue so let me go grab them oh my gosh so I accidentally didn't hit record um so I mean of hoping I can get a good shot of her he actually got a nice little lens that I can add onto here hopefully get better up-close pictures oh my gosh she's actually webbed up like this already okay all right ma'am you need to get in here there we are now stay nope stay okay all right so there's one jumping spider and I know these enclosures are kind of small like I said I am just doing what I can with what I have for now we're actually gonna be doing some DIY enclosures for them yeah stay tuned for that I guess let's move on to the second female hopefully she is not going to totally run but I kind of expect that with them they're pretty oh there she is let me see if I can get a better shot oh you guys up close all right so she is in here oh she's so cute look at her little eyes oh my gosh oh my god she's so cute look at her adorable eyes huh very curious probably about to take off right in her enclosure cool so she was easy I really hope I can breed some of these like and get like some little babies all right so now we just have the male lift and hopefully he's all right I actually love how the males look because they are oh my God he's so cute I need to get I need to get up close for this one you guys he is adorable even prettier than the females there he is oh this is a male look at his green veins oh this is what they love to do they love to jump away yep yeah I hope that wasn't completely out of focus this whole time but re I guess oh I got him and his enclosure and he is right there so cute yeah all three of the jumpers got here safely we have two females a male and now it's time for this I can't believe we finally have one of these I'm so happy that he got these in finally I've been asking forever just like the velvet spider I do have to say I've been wanting the velvet spider more but these things are so cool-looking so let's just let's just stop talking and get into it okay so with trapdoors obviously you just need a lot of dirt so that is the plant I've got jungle mix and we are going to generously fill this up so there's been like some controversy about how significant their bites are Tom told me that they shouldn't kill a person so that's good I don't yeah from what I've gathered they're not really medically significant they're actually just supposed to be really painful these are called Chinese trapdoors so you can assume that they are from like the old world but this is a trapdoor who's not a tarantula so we want to give it lots of dirt I'm not a hundred percent sure on what size this trapdoor is but I'm gonna go ahead and just put in put that in not like it really matters because literally all this species wants is dirt but I don't know it just kind of look a little bit pretty maybe I am pretty nervous about this one I think it's gonna be really difficult to get it in here so that kind of stinks but I don't know what to do yeah that's that's the plan oh I see it oh I see it's upside-down of course it's upside-down and it does not want to let go at least it's alive oh man it looks pretty nasty Wow oh this is a really nice-looking one hang on so he warned me that they liked to play dead and then they get really bitey so I'm guessing it's in the play dead face and I don't want it to get to the really bitey face but can we look at that what oh my god that is so cool at least it's holding still for now so I can get some shots and I'm gonna gently lower it into the enclosure but look at that wow I love how segmented they are okay all right there it is now let's try to get it off of that where did my paintbrush go here it is hey it's doing that play bad thing oh yeah it's a lie you want it off I don't want to leave this paper in here oh oh it's threat posed check that out oh that is a bitey boy hopefully girl I think it's actually female whoa let's get this thing aah oh sorry that's fine I'm really not sure like how to get this off though there we go there we go okay all right go down keep going there he is he and I don't think it can actually climb I'm pretty sure it cannot climb that and then I'm just gonna go ahead and started a little burrow right there Wow I can't believe I actually have one of these now sick this is probably the coolest looking spider that I have definitely the velvet spider is the cutest and this is the coolest what do you guys think it's not the best looking enclosure ever but it's really effective it's got a ton of dirt and everything that it would need so I'm doubting that we're gonna see it a lot but there is oh ok so that is it I thank you guys so much for watching if you spiders and the species is really cool because there's like a variety of colorations as you probably notice personally I prefer the male's just because I really love like black animals and black fighters and scorpions and black snakes like just love black animals they're just like my favorite yeah I'm sure nobody's shocked there I decided to name it whiskey I know like it probably would have made more sense to go with like a cookie name like Oreo but we already know that whiskey is the forbidden Oreo do not eat her so yeah like this video if you guys enjoy it subscribe if you're not
