hi everybody welcome back to my channel today we have to do a rehousing that i've kind of been dreading so i guess it was a couple years ago now my friend bred some obt tarantulas or p miranus i am now being forced into taking an obt this little one i was really nervous about getting that species initially just because of their reputation of being very defensive and venomous but i actually did take the sling and i've grown the sling a lot so she's actually gained quite a bit of size so we have to rehouse her i'm actually going to put her in a larger enclosure than i normally would because i don't really like rehousing obts they're very fast and unpredictable they're not always bad but sometimes they can have an attitude and i just don't like to deal with it so let's do this rehousing it will be into her permanent enclosure and i also have some granostolas that i want to re-house as well but before we get into all of that i did want to thank micro wilderness for sponsoring today's video if you're not familiar with micro wilderness they are an american tarantula breeder and vendor they're really great they do a lot of really cool work with conservation and breeding as well as importing different species especially like lately those mexican species that i've been showing on my channel a lot of course they came from them so they're really great to work with every time they sponsor me i always hear about the good experiences you guys have had so that's why i like to work with them because i know they're treating you right that said they do have a black friday sale going on from now until the beginning of december and it is 20 off so if you want to go get a tarantula for yourself or even maybe for somebody else who wants one for christmas or whatever holidays you celebrate definitely make sure to check them out of course i will link them down below and maybe browse their website and see if they have anything that you're looking for yeah thank you so much microwilderness for sponsoring this video and let's go ahead and get into the rehousings okay so first we need to re-house my grandmastola grossa my grandmastola iheringi and my grandmastola acetion so i guess let's start with the acetone so we are going to be rehousing it into these little tarantula cribs enclosures as you see it's a pretty nice little upgrade i don't think they're going to last very long in these because they have grown quite a bit but grandmastola are a little bit more slow growing so i think it'll be fine for a couple molts first let's put some substrate in we're using reptile soil for gramastola we don't need a ton because they don't burrow a ton that's good put in a few leaves and then i'm going to put in some cork bark so that will look pretty good let's see if we are going to uh participate today all right so these are actually a little feisty let's go ahead and try to get this one in this way there you go not so bad maybe there you go nope nope yes there we go all right so we got the acetone down perfect and just because the acetone looks super similar to the iheringi we're going to mark it right away g action acetylene action all right one down i guess let's do the iheringae next i already got substrate in this one put in some cork a big leaf just one all right this one is super feisty i know you don't want to go but this is for your own good all right now get down perfect so pretty and fortunately didn't put up much of a fight today whoa all right one more grandmastola okay so this is my grandma stolla grossa and it has a huge attitude especially for a grandmastola probably my favorite grandmastola species though as adults they look like a mix between a grandmaster poker and a grandmastola rosea they're super cool so yeah let's give it a nice new enclosure you're gonna run run in there i'm only breaking off his crumbs is that too big i feel like that's way too big what a stick all right so i'm gonna have to like get different cork bark for this one because i can't break a piece those are too hard for me to break all right are you gonna be in a good mood today yeah okay cool okay that was enough thank you that like little lip really helps keep them from running out of the enclosure right here and i suppose we can do a label for my grosa as well although i don't think i would confuse it for anything else my obt over here it looks as nervous as me which is really reassuring because that's next perfect but now we have to do the obt i'm wondering how this is going to go down but i don't know we'll see all right so i think that's good yeah this should be good plenty of substrate for it especially right now so they're a little bit more of a dry species so i'm gonna forego the moss again i haven't really used moss in today's video because nobody's really needing that humidity but i will do some of these this big piece of cork bark i think that'll be good for it to web up and it does burrow so i'll do i'll start it like over here for it and then i also have this skull which i i've used it before obviously and i glued up the nose so that nothing can try to crawl through it and get stuck but um yeah i don't know about these eyes i don't know this seems dangerous you know what we're not going to use this today we'll use it for something smaller we can use this pot just as another something to web up and leave oh perfect i found these so i'll actually use these to decorate as well here's a little skull and this one's totally safe and we have a water dish which is perfect because when tarantulas get about this size is when i like to start giving them water dishes of course you can totally give them water dishes before then i just typically don't because they usually like i don't know burrow and stuff all right i think that's pretty good for an obt especially one this size mine is not that big yet here is my obt and i think i'm actually just going to try to get her out like this and like have her like crawl out if that's going to be possible i do have ketchup her whole like house wants to come up with this yeah so she's like all the way down there now i kind of almost wonder if i should just take the lid off and let her come out i don't know a few moments later oh my god i'm so sad you guys missed that i tried to pull this piece out and she like went crazy she like dashed all around i cursed a lot so it's probably better that we did not have to witness that but now i am just not feeling very confident about this because she just showed me how fast she is oh my god here she comes again see i just want you to like come out of this i think that's all i want you to do but she's so fast and so scary i just don't want this piece of cork to fall on her and i don't want her to come out the wrong way she keeps going under this piece of cork and every time i touch the cork she bolts out and runs around and does a few laps and then goes back and on under it this i'll have to put back in in a minute first i think the best thing i can do is just do this you just don't want her to get out because that is a big problem she's not threat posing she's just really skittish me me okay yes yes yes you are on to the right there we go okay all right so we're getting there what are we doing oh my god and what am i gonna do how am i gonna get this out just wait she's just gonna have bowl she has both no i can't let her have both because she's gonna start webbing this up and think that she has both and i don't want her to have both i'm surprised she has not thrown one threat posture no i just don't know what to do i wish she would just get scared enough to where she just stops moving like that's what we need because see every time i just like do anything she just starts bolting well she's pointed down though yeah but do you see how fast she can point up and she's back in her old enclosure great just what we wanted back to square one if i could just get her in like maybe a smaller container get in the smaller container there she is okay stay there stay there oh that's so freaky i don't know about this oh my god oh my god oh my god i'm the powerful one so don't do that essentially never do that with an obt because it doesn't work all right much better my husband's over here trying to help i'm just like don't touch it do not touch it i'm gonna give her her old piece of cork as well hopefully you guys see now though like why i just wanted to size her up to her adult enclosure because i knew she would be like that essentially um she was actually a little bit better than i was expecting attitude wise but yeah now we just have to be super sketchy and open this all right i might just leave this cup in here for her but i don't know all right you can run again yeah there you go wow there you go okay you know what you keep it you keep it that's yours enjoy maybe she'll find somewhere yes that's what we wanted that's exactly what we wanted all right cups out oh my goodness thank you and see you guys through all that not one threat posture that's pretty impressive see so it's not so bad like attitude wise for every obt but speed that is like your number one thing and that's what i was most concerned about it wasn't like really getting bitten especially since she wasn't showing any defensive behavior but it was essentially if she ran out how much faster she is than me and my husband i really i really didn't think we would do it for a minute there but we did it and it feels so good okay so thank you guys so much for watching i hope you enjoyed like this video if you did subscribe if you're not and you want me don't forget this video that is probably way too much it's at tarantula.cat you can go follow me there i also have a patreon
