DIY: Transforming your staircase in 3 easy STEPS!

so let's start off in DS style here to help me transform the centerpiece of this home the staircase is Matt Edwards CEO of Carolina stair supply there he is hey Matt and Debbie how are you here have you thank you to designing spaces thank you so there's no doubt about it the staircase really is the focal point of a home and this one really needs a makeover especially with the holidays coming up what is it's usually the the first thing you see when you come through the back door and with the wiring slides and replacing these old way balusters it really can give a whole new look to Sarila okay so what do we need to get started dubbing you'll need some limb shears waterslide bouncers some glue and a screw gun or grill all right Matt you're gonna be very proud of me because I have everything already ready to get the service do we do this do it all right okay so what is our first step all right Debbie so the first step is you have to choose your balusters we have several combinations baskets twists Scrolls in several colors we have satin black or robe copper and ash gray for this house I recommended using satin black with a twist and a basket combination all right Debbie the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna use some common limb shears that most everybody has in her garage and we're gonna cut out a couple of these Bowser's and get started you just do that for each one each one we recommend taking the balusters into two pieces okay we're gonna mount this bottom piece on first there's two screws and then we'll slide this back on telescope it up alright well I'm gonna do want to show you okay I'll hold this paper put a little dab of glue on here [Music] your screw gun okay yep just slide that right back on in and just any height up to 42 inches and then it will also this little pop piece will go to any angle get it level okay put your two screws in up top you're done [Music] there gets it so it's the same step for each one that's it how easy it is it is very easy alright let's continue now we have the different design we do and with the orange spine as I said before it's the only and patented adjustable ballast or telescopes up and down I don't adjust any angle so it's it's very easy for somebody a homeowner or do-it-yourselfer you don't have to hire a contractor you don't have to get a building permit yeah it's just it's a pretty simplistic deal that adds a lot of elegance and it really does save you time and money because it is so easy to do yes do you think I'd be able to get the whole thing done today I think so it's good all right fine let's give you of it alright well we're gonna keep working here but if you want to improve the look of your home it's really easy to do just visit Carolina stare calm and we're going to show you how this looks at the end of the show so be sure to join us [Music] so there you have it we've prepped for the holidays thanks to Caroline Astaire supply this staircase is transformed a great and easy home-improvement project who adds both beauty and value to any space and these stairs would be complete without that special holiday Flair so I've adorned the banister with green hanging Garland in natural pinecones with winter white decor making holiday celebrating even more magical remember for more information on anything you've seen on today's show or to learn how to be part of the show go to our website designing spaces TV thanks so much for joining us and Happy Holidays [Music] you
