DIY Perimeter Trip Wire Alarm

you know with your camping hiking you want to set up a perimeter of some sort maybe it's shtf maybe you're playing airsoft or paintball and you want to be warned about intruders there's a great way to have a century system using one of the inert smoke grenade tops and they're spent they've taken off in a lot of military surplus places sell these and this is a great way to set up a little perimeter defense hook a little trip wire to it and it really makes this a cool little system sinners have been drilled out and of course they've been removed from the body and the spoons have been removed and I've picked these up at a local gun show in fact this is what they were made for just to have a little fun now you want to check any kind of local walls I don't think there's any kind of federal law that prohibits this from all my research but you do want to check with your laws just in case there's any kind of issues but the original hand grenade primer size is just right for a shotgun primer at least the one that's been drilled out here and so it just drops right in now from what I understand if you have to press it in if it's like you're reloading and you're pressing it in there's some legality there I think and that's just what somebody the in fact the guy that I bought these from but these will just drop right in so when you set this up you're going to have to make sure that you set it up in this position where it doesn't just fall out but you know with it being protected right here with this little recessed area I don't see any problem with that now I took some regular shotgun primers these are just Winchester shotgun primers and also some strings for your tripwire you'll also need a nail right here there's a hole that is drilled all the way through if some of the hand grenade tops that I noticed have a little part of the spring here it can interfere with it but you can actually get past that but what I'm going to do is just nail this into a tree and we're going to check it out first we're going to secure an anchor point for the tripwire then we're going to tie on our trip where and we're going to do this side first that way you don't accidentally set off your alarm beforehand one thing you want to do is any excess string go ahead and cut it off because that'll be a telltale sign if happened to see that string blowing now your cutter pin hole is right here so you're going to want to put the nail through this side and what that will do is it'll allow it to be up against the tree and then you can access your cotter pin right here when I probably put this about a foot above just so somebody might not step over it and it vertically and you want to be a little bit out of the way having this nicely secured to the tree is going to be important that way your PIN will give before this will pull out an entire trip wire through you want to make sure that it's a good solid knot just drop the primer down into the primer pocket make sure your wire is taunt that way it'll trip correctly oh well that's loud Wow now that is definitely an alarm and we also have the pen still attached to the string so if I want to set this up again it's really easy just to do it now we need to bring our hammer back to recopy it and then we just put our pin back through making sure that it's in there the primer is going to have to be popped out you can see where it completely disintegrated that little area in the primer now we're going to go ahead and arm our little trip wire still holding up it's about the sound of a 22 pistol so it's pretty loud I mean it actually is a little painful to your ears when that primer goes off works like a charm every time one of the things that a real Hand Grenade has and I want to make a disclaimer here because I want you guys to be careful I don't know who I was watching this and sometimes kids get a bright idea or adults for that matter of arming this and number one is against federal law never arm a hand grenade never try to make a bomb of any sort but if you take your primer in fact the shotgun primer is a lot more powerful than the smoke grenade or even hand grenade primer and loves that there's a fuse that goes down here that's delayed you don't know what you're doing please don't do it and again you know it is there are a lot of federal regulations against making an explosive device this is not an explosive device all it is a signaling device and when it when that primer hits it just makes a really loud noise so this little project takes away the element of surprise no matter what it is if it's fun or if it's a serious real-life security situation just another tidbit for your arsenal of security being able to have a secure perimeter no matter where you are this is just a great little way inexpensive and just a lot of fun to put together be strong be a good courage god bless america long live the Republic there is a great little way to make a little today we're going to make we have a project to make a century alert this is a perimeter to do do I did hear that we're also going to need and there is thank goodness it makes it just perfect to be able to put a nail right through here and that will allow you to if I get this stub now through here first we're going to screw first I would equate this a little bit like reloading except a really short barrel test out our tripwire walking along folks
