I know a lot of a bacon I love bacon and this is pig candy one of my world championship award-winning recipes you can make a lot of friends with this cuz Pig candy blocks so today we're going to show you how to do it on a grill and the reason I like using a grill for pig candy is because you get the sweet the salty and you get a hint of smoke and that's all sorts of awesome so we're gonna start off with something that you know everybody should have in their house bacon lots and lots of bacon so this bacon here is a medium cut bacon it's not too thick not too thin then you want to go on and find yourselves one of these perforated pans these perforated pans will allow us to have a lot of airflow on your grill and give you some crispy or bacon cuz I don't know anybody who likes floppy bacon the recipe you find in the description right below or you can visit the blog at diva qca so we've got some corn syrup I like corn syrup because it's kind of neutral you can use maple syrup you can use whiskey you can use a lot of things and now we're gonna start off with brown sugar now brown sugar comes in lots of different styles flavors as well I'm using a light brown sugar because I don't want these to get too too dark so you want to be really generous and it kind of is gonna probably be shocking on how generous I am it's a lot of sugar because we are making candy forever now I have four tablespoons of chipotle powder I love that contrast between sweet and salty and spice you may not like it as much as I do that's okay use as much as you like for your heat tolerance level and then we're gonna take this tray to the grill one of the key things you need to learn about your grill and this is a gas grill is how to create an indirect cooking zone that means that the flames aren't directly hitting whatever protein food vegetable whatever you got going on but then it's causing itself to have a nice gentle or Heat so on this grill I have one burner on and I have three off and what you want to do is you want to put it on the side that's not on close or girls you don't leave that pink candy on there indirect for about 10-15 minutes one of the things is you want to come back and check it you don't want to be too far from your grill though remember you've got bacon you got grease you've got a flame you got to be safe and know what your girl's capabilities are then you want to flip it over and do the other side as well you know get a little or you know texture the drying of that in there because that texture is what makes pig candy so delicious as well every slice of bacon is different every grill is different so there's no hard and fast rules about time it's more of a method okay so our big is all done and it's so good it's taking everything in me to bring this eating it right now but let's talk about storage it's actually kind of important what you don't want to end up with is a big clump of bacon well maybe you do but I don't I need to use this in a few things if you want to line up your bacon in the parchment pea it in a resealable bag or a resealable container you can actually freeze it at this point too you can take this pig candy now you can put in cakes you can put it in and you know cookies and loaves you can serve it crumbled up on ice cream you know I even have a restaurant a website that is a chocolate-dipped a you know pretzel which opt to pick any on it this has been pink candy 101 all sorts of awesome all sorts of delicious make sure you subscribe to this channel for even more awesome barbecue grilling because life's too short for bad barbecue
