Dirty 15 Year Old VW Golf GTI Deep Clean and Full Detail | EXTREME FILTH WARNING!!!

welcome back to the forensics detailing channel i'm here at fresh layers and today there's a special edition 30 limited edition golf that is in for a full restoration detail now the condition of this car is not good we have faded dirty grime in all of the plastics oh jesus we have alloy wheels deeply embedded with old layers of brake dust the paintwork has deep scratches various age-related dinks and marks but fundamentally this is a sound car that is really going to benefit from a full detail full decontamination the full works and the machine polish with wet sanding to take out the scratches so i'm going to walk you around the car and then we'll get started transforming this cool little car back to how it should be do you recognize it just the shape so this limited edition 30 mark 5 gti golf is a stunning looking car and a guaranteed future classic in my opinion it's fair to say though this particular car is in need of some detailing tlc and that is where we are chomping at the bit to get stuck in and improve this car massively that's what it's all about so here you can see some chemical staining on the pillars that we're going to be able to sort out and also just the general build up of grime and road film and heavy bright dust everywhere you can also see that same white staining on the plastic wheel nut covers suggesting this car may have been cleaned at some valeting places that are using very strong chemicals that aren't being rinsed off the car properly [Music] so [Music] definitely a need for refurb look at the status [Music] before detailing the car fresh layers will do an inspection report to highlight any potential issues nearside rear tyre perished the guys using a whole smorgasbord of products mainly from the waxes deadline that i'll link in the description if you're interested in trying it even [Music] as well as having the resin bots to provide pure filtered water to reduce water spotting having this industrial sized karcher unit with hot water capability that literally heats out and melts down that heavy dirt and grime so having the right tools for the job can really make a difference [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] if you're poisoned [Music] and for any budding environmentalists out there all the chemicals used today are non-caustic and biodegradable [Music] [Music] and i've seen it [Music] to all we make choices those voices [Music] no [Music] [Music] [Music] you know when your pre-washing game is on point when you go to do the contact wash and it feels like you're cleaning an already clean car [Music] now we have a clean car we get a chance to look at the paintwork now this type of swirling is not a major problem we can take out most of it machine polishing dents we're going to need a pdr guide to look at bird poo etching and there's lots of it no problem this however is deep sanding marks underneath the paintwork from poor refinishing and there's also deep scratches on the car that will never fully cut out like this and this for example we can only slightly improve those [Music] so all the mucky wet work outside has been done i'm going to bring the car in dry it off properly decontaminate it clay bar it because there's a hell of a lot of contamination on the surface then we're going to inspect the paintwork properly we know there's a lot of local localized issues with the paint on this areas that are going to need wet sanding we're going to do a full paint depth survey on the car assess it and then eventually the machine polishing process will start the wheels are going to come off the car as well and go to a body shop to be fully refurbished [Music] this is a coarse compound margin here it's been buffed by hand to try and remove this same down here so that will refine back and use machine polishing to get that back a lot of bird puma all over this car and deep scratches [Music] these pillars have got chemical etching and oxidization hazing you see this bit here is glossy so once these are all polished up these will look nice and renewed [Music] this car is heavily contaminated [Music] so [Music] so today we're using the shoal concepts abrasives and pads to correct this lovely addition of dirty golf products have been supplied to us by auto prep supplies for the first panel which we're going to be doing we're going to be using the s0 and one of uh scholes sort of universal pads for this so what we're going to be doing is running through s0 s3 and an s30 once we've done all that we're going to assess the panel see if it's good enough if it's not good enough then we're going to be you know coming up with another plan of action to get it to get it spot on [Music] so this is the test set after one set of s zero ones and then followed up with s3 gold xxl we've got a really good level of gloss and defect removal and then we'll be following this up with s 30 to give us the final finish but we know that s0 and s3 is going to work great for coating that's going to keep this vehicle protected from the elements outside it's an honour for me to work with the guys of fresh layers detailing cars professionally as a service is a completely different kettler fish to just doing it at home and there's a lot of pressure there's a lot of false expectation around what can be delivered and there's a lot of frustrations trying to run this [Applause] it looks like a new car do you recognize it just the shape that is incredible the alloy wheels have been transformed as oh my well that is absolutely incredible i don't know what else to say we've done what we've done here as well we've redone we managed to redraw the the edition 30 because that had faded we also put the red pinstripe back on because that had all gone and then we've uh there was some dents that the pdr guy took out here and here's some dinks oh the exhaust tips come up lovely but yes you're after care guy at your key thank you so much no problem at all [Music]
