Dinner at McDonald’s Indonesia & Truffle SOUP DUMPLINGS

hi as you can see we're packing so we're hitting out to another foot of venture today we are going to Indonesia for the week hey Indonesia in this summer that should be really really not hot at all but super super excited tons of great food Indonesia we we lined up some great places cannot wait to hit it up but before I forget I want to give a shout out to Skillshare for it's a sponsor of this video and I'll talk more about them towards the end but right now let's go Alicia alright we're not in Indonesia yes come on I gotta eat something before the airport instead of going to Queens in Flushing put into a Shanghainese restaurant before I leave town tiny Shanghai black truffle soup dumplings usually that just means really expensive just okay tasting soup dumplings [Music] three types of soup dumpling straw here today this is their number one - oh we got here it's truffle fried rice this alright it looks like there's a substantial amount of soup inside as you can see there's the truffle it smells very troubling what I like to do will not experience any soup dumplings in my method not afford to soup out so I want to see how much it's in there a lot of you might disapprove but you know what sweet just don't all right I want to see how much soup is thank you it's a good amount of soup in hair once almost one whole Chinese tablespoon of it I mean almost one Chinese soup spoon full of it that's really truffle me it's really porky my strong coffee flavor you like it yeah yeah how do you know you never even try one you're not gonna try a strawpoll soup to me oh my gosh if I just trying to be good because she's like a poutine for a weekend or something that doesn't matter you come to a soup dumpling place you shove your face with soup dumplings [Music] that's pretty it's a delicious soup dumpling Wow usually when you see a hold on it so if somebody is kind of like okay you get the truffle flavor that's about it like this it's nice and it's really immediate just tons of fillings in there and bursting with tropical flavor you gotta say I'm really impressed by this pretty right it's right sauce right a little speed little soy sauce II yeah it's supposed to be spicy and I like it when the wrapper is not an egg wrapper I like the regular wrapper I'll take some or a little bit let's try this a couple fried rice my Rebecca is incredible I never seen someone sit across look at this how do you sit across from all this and not even eat it like I don't know how she does it there's a hard okay okay all right I would not be able to do what you're doing right now both fried rice never had this no one look up I'll sit by the truffle flavor there's a lot of trouble flavor definitely need some spice for sores though it's very unique right right you know obviously it's like truffle and fry rats right don't really see those two combos together by that often there's some crazy water Chesnee or that's giving a nice crunchy I like the trouble flavor I could use a little more flavor low price breathing on the rice itself a little more clay analyze yourself what do you think oh I want to try this right away some bad fish that's not my favorite thing though is the scale will work much it's okay well I got one more thing hmm don't ask much right it's just like a Peking duck except for his feet I mean it's crunchy on the outside yeah oh yeah it did a good job with this so I would recommend get the soup dumpling soup tom was amazing here really really good tried a couple one load more expensive but I think it's worth a try it's definitely cheaper than the deans hypo ones you know like five four 20s or something like that uh-huh pretty happy with this meal before I got on the plane stopped by grab some noodles my favorite way some over 28 here too of course covered in hot oil some cucumbers my favorite dishes buried underneath this treasure trove of chilies onions fatty beef potatoes and don't ever sleep on the potatoes look how beautifully tender it is and this this is a powerhouse of flavor right here I don't think all this you have the delicious noodles and pulled stretched noodles cooked to absolute perfection as stretchy it's chewy the mouthfeel of this thing is absolutely incredible [Applause] now [Applause] the glutens you don't ever sleep on the potatoes I almost like that more than ever Magneto's cover a nice beefy flavor jeido she's not here probably my favorite noodle dish in New York I've got to add extra order of hot oil [Applause] and some Chinese vinegar to give it a more robust perky flavor and also kind of counteract the fattiness from the beef now this is perfect wait time before I leave [Applause] my system before I go or I'd smith some to watching out now let's go to Indonesia [Music] Oh first guys I remember this a long long time ago this is it this is home in case you're curious where an airline economy class is like let me show you around that's about it you have a pretty bottle of water a mini community kick let's see what's inside I always feel a toothbrush so toothbrush and a lot of ikana me flights and other airlines they don't give you slippers and although this isn't much pelvis the personal balling up foot cover better than nothing I appreciate that Korean Airlines cream that is barely bigger than my iPad Mini base dad I'll call home for the next 15 hours or something CF for dinner ending bub especially it looks really similar to I had in first class a few years ago so the ingredients base in a plastic tray seaweed soup carrot cake this is really sticky wanna pepper paste [Music] well that's just creepy ash lasting issues just apply this strictly to the veggies but yeah whatever and you mix it all together [Music] probably one of the better dishes you can have it in the economy flight just that first class and I had the different pump as well tastes pretty much the same but pretty good plus I want to say service on this airline so nice so so nice oh is that great it's the movie selection look at the flora crop that came out a long long time ago I don't even know what half of this other stuff is and then Hollywood hits again like this if it's it's the same movies I mean the guy the Black Panther which is nice in classics the only thing that's kind of making me happy is they have forests company which they also have when I flew this airline about three years ago the airport and each hunt is so pretty [Music] and I can finally hear Indonesia really scared by the heat so four plays arrived at the same time tons of people at immigration three steering like twenty minutes and that's one thing I love about Asian countries is so incredibly efficient so now the plan is as usual find a cab get to our Airbnb most importantly find some food took about 30 40 minutes to get our bags alright still gotta eat so let's go I'm really surprised you guys I'm outside right now almost outside right now it's nothing hot I mean I know it's like 9 o'clock at night but good [Music] hello Jakarta is pretty just got to our Airbnb it's pretty late it's about ten o'clock starving though don't really know what to eat around here the the hotel people told us it's really not safe to walk around at night so what I'm thinking is a lot of you guys asked me to try out the McDonald's here Indonesia because there's some really cool items on the menu so I'm thinking we're gonna just take a cab and go to McDonald's and have that for dinner never thought my first meal in Indonesia will be McDonald's but let's give it a shot [Music] the McDonald's here Indonesia offers something I think it's truly unique because if you look at what I got today I didn't get a single sandwich because I feel like the sandwiches are all the same as the ones you can get in the US but take a look at this this is really really cool this dish here is called a young cream it's sambal matah which means fried chicken with crunchy bits raw chili and relish and this is launched in conjunction with Ramadan and here look at this little pack of rice this is adorable fried chicken spicy you got this rice dish that's called nasi dying hate angel which looks like a beef patty with chili sauce chili glaze over it and then I just got some beef bulgogi because I don't know I like bulgogi and I was really surprised to see people go get on the menu here McDonald's finally look at this this is a soda they xx this is a sprite the stuff on the bottom is something called Kadam dome and it's it's a hog plum that they added to the spread and finally apple banana pie so really excited a trial this the crispy bits I think you put this over the rice I kind of expected this to be a coconut rice but I think this is just playing why rises and the Sun boss saw some but of course it's a hot sauce that's really common in Southeast Asia tons of variations of it and this can either go with your chicken war with the egg so I'm just gonna dump it out of here I stretch at some Botox first who as a lot better than I thought Oh lots of onions garlic tons of chilli this sauce might kill and McDonald's in the u.s. because I think like 90% of population you wouldn't be able to handle the sauce low vinegar flavor tons of heat and the rice with the little bits here [Music] it was very crunchy the little I mean they don't add additional a lot of additional flavor is that things just merely the punch but let me grab a bite or some of the crunchy bits some eggs and some of the sambal that's an excellent fight well ma'am I would not have believed that was from McDonald's if he just gave me that bite I would never have guessed that from McDonald's I mean the eggs taste a little mcdonough we did taste a little powdery but that sauce that feels like you legit came from a local restaurant spicy crispy chicken it's got a ton of punch to a look at this you can see the chili on this chicken this looks like it's gonna be a good fight treasure the question that is really crunchy this is a good piece of chicken this is a really really spicy piece of chicken I don't think this can be just served at regular McDonald's in the US because it it's really really there's things on fire welcome Inc Wow perfect amount of spice I love the flavor in the breading as well we're a perfect balance of salt and pepper the meat is nice and juicy this country does not cut around when it comes to spice I mean just a McDuck's think about it just a regular piece of McDonald's fried chicken there's already waist by sheriff and I think most people get handle back home I can't wait to try out the spice level when I'm actually eating local Indonesian food this is a fantastic preview it's going to try a piece with some of the Sun bar sauce on there yeah a little rice little samba little chicken [Music] one of my favorite vice had a McDonald's ever McDonald's really outdone themselves when it comes to the spicy chicken and soy sauce my favorite fried chicken so far has been Popeyes we're go Jane goes my guilty pleasure but here I gotta say gotta give the crown to this spicy fried chicken let's try out this drink I'm thinking that table is just sprite yeah just sprite mix it up a bit [Music] definitely add a slight bit of plum flavor to the sprite it doesn't change the flavor dramatically but it makes the drink fruity er and slightly more tart now these cue rice balls honestly kind of look the same this is the book Oggy it just looks like okay this doesn't really look like a bug Oggy it just kind of looks like cut-up piece of burger so with some sesame and probably some like a little barbecue sauce I mean there's nothing really wrong with it I'm gonna meet Patti tastes good I actually tastes quite smoky but it's really just eating the sauce oh not to make this better take a little bit the sambar sauce [Music] they really need to bother that some about Josh that's a food level upper right there in the nested I mean it just looks like the only difference is I mean look at this it's just a patty this is just a simple cam burger patty they put on this that's a little disappointing the difference between the bulgogi and in this it's just really the sauce which here is some kind of chili sauce I'm thinking it's gonna be a little sweet little spicy there's an okay shot I feel like this this is not really really worth it literally tastes like a sweet and sour sauce actually doesn't really have any much heat in there just a lot of a lot of sweetness and it's not even aleko over a special patty and it's over a regular hamburger patty not a big finiti still put the chicken oh yeah check this out lychee ice cheap in the inside of this lychee tea there's actually pieces up camp and lychee mmm that's yours let me go combo and finally for dessert let's try this obviously we have the apple pie and American McDonald's but apple banana cut whoo look like some pieces of apples with banana cream hmm got crunch right whoa really flick you a beautiful banana flavor to the standard we really love the outset of this pie how'd you choose I go pretty professionally made pastry I'm surprised they retain that much crunch in flakiness in the apple banana combo that's a winner this is hands-down much better than just the pure Apple version borderline addictive so again didn't get any burgers because all the burgers here Indonesian McDonald's is the same burgers you could get anywhere else in the world but these atoms especially this dish extremely unique love love love the chicken they put on the menu not a big fan of these like you know hamburger patty wannabe bowls but the chicken and apple pie definitely get that attracted all right I'm gonna heat up and then and I gotta go get some sleep so seen a bit um this is gonna be a really interesting trip really Felicia something really fun trip a lot of awesome food planned in Indonesia and this is a kosher where they take their spice really seriously and as a spice head myself I
