Digging Rainbow Herkimer Diamond Quartz Crystals | Paradise Falls New York

we're at a place called Paradise Falls in New York and we're gonna be digging up some awesome Herkimer diamond quartz crystals Paradise Falls and then found a little pocket check it out pull this piece out really nice and a few other small ones yeah there's one just laying there look at that when you hit these pockets they just fall out look at that so I don't know if there's any more in there we're gonna check it out usually when you see this colored dirt you know you're in a pocket look at that a little crystal there and sometimes these pockets can go on for a couple foot or they can just be a couple inches this one can't tell yet but I think that might have been about it so we did get one nice crystal from it though and after that we're gonna check some of this out because over the winter time the water has has gotten down in these cracks and last year where we couldn't even move this rock now we can really easily pull it off the wall because water just helped to freeze it apart taking a little shortcut here across the creek I think I'm gonna go look for some surface finds before I get into any more hardrock mining today what a awesome place great scenery it's just beautiful up here I bet there's crystals all over the surface underneath things leaves let's see what we got here yep look at that there's one right there nice look at that what a beauty you can see why they call them Herkimer diamonds another one that ties a lot of fun just plucking them off the surface and here comes Chris one of the owners so here we are and there's been a little rain on these piles here at Paradise Falls and there's some surface vines check it out boom just barely hanging off the wall there then I noticed another one up here and this rock oh yeah a little one and another one right here sure oh this is this is nice yeah look at that nice Herkimer CD oh it oh well I can take this one side of its really good yeah oh yeah it's a good pretty good nice look at that [Music] check it out so digging up some loose dirt we're gonna get down to this harder rock and it's starting to come apart fairly easy as you can see look at that then I'm noticing a route going down and normally a lot of times when you have the roots going down it's going down into a pocket say look at this how soft this is getting this might be a pocket here yep there it is look at that first a little crystal so you don't ever know how many you're gonna get in a pocket hoop there it is starting you a little bit bigger this one's got some funny formations but Wow see here well started to rain on us a bit but that's no problem just put up a few tarps and we'll get right back to digging working on an area here and this is all natural stuff but you've got a lot of weathering so it's really easy to dig in this dull stone near the surface you can see here it's starting to break up and you're starting to get the right coloring for some pockets so let's see what we got so I found a pocket dug down a little bit deeper here and here's a crystal hat and pulled out yet oh yeah not a bad one look at that nice piece nice Herkimer probably gonna be a few more where this one came from not bad got to be a couple more yeah look at that there's one no smaller and you know you want to dig with your hands through this stuff or use some kind of soft - when you get in the pocket you don't want to stick your sharp metal tools in here because you'll damage them here's that piece I just found a little more cleaned up get a little bit better idea what it looks like they're super nice so finish that last pocket out got a couple crystals out of it and I started dealing to the left here because you can see they go left in horizontal and look at that there it is then pop open another little pocket you can see this crystal looks really good haven't pulled it out yet but it's gonna be a nice one I'm sure let's check it out look at that let's see here just make sure we can get it out undamaged without scrubbing it up against the wall there oh yeah look at that look at that what that's a good sized Herkimer right there really fun digging man nice man Palmer we're at Oh what it's ready to come out I was huge oh it's really bigger the Palmer go that's huge Wow Wow I knew this that's a little bit bigger than I thought it was gonna be there look at that it's like an extended one Groo yeah it's our - Wow Wow and that is perfect it is there's no damage no wow here's another piece Chris found look at the rainbows in this one and it's got going color just awesome really cool alright back to another pocket and finding them already check it out looks like a nice little one not bad look at that oh yeah really good condition really Jimmy has looks to be a few black and Thrax light inclusions but look at that that's why they call them Herkimer diamonds right they're really fine example of a Herkimer diamond look at that nice let's see if there's any more in here that one obviously came out of a pocket here so see if we can find a few more like you say you want to do most of the digging with your hands unless you you know if you use a tool like this you can barely go through but you're always taking a risk you know you might look at that there's yeah see I could have easily scraped that one with it look at that and that's nice getting bigger almost just like the last one but bigger look at that soft with heat yeah here it is a little bit more cleaned up you can really see the inside of it now how Jimmy it is but then again it's got some golden color and some cool inclusions so check this out look at that look at the Hat can you see it looks like a pretty good Herkimer there in another pocket let's see here pull this baby out sit here oh yeah oh wow oh it's big Oh what look at that oh oh and it's got a little small baby on it man that's a score and a half Wow look at that man really good terminations all the way around that's what I'm talking about that's what it's all about right there whoo that's that's my best fine so far of the day look at that man sensational piece all right so that piece was so nice I'm gonna use a stick here to dig the rest of this pocket you never know what might be sitting just right beside it could be better so I definitely don't want to risk damaging anything let's see here got to be another piece or two nearby yeah look at that there we go a little small one there looking good another chunker here look at that there to go oh yeah and it's like one of the elongated pieces some of my favorites these are really cool you don't find these as often they're kind of elongated and I've tape it's so nice look at that pulling these right out of the pocket and just they clean up almost immediately they don't have the oxide coatings like most other crystals have at other locations because they form so differently so cool let's see if there's any more here it might just be another Oh nope that was just some matrix see if there's anything else coming out of the ground here might be another one sometimes you want to check some of this dirt too because they'll be some small pieces you know let's see here you know always gonna find a piece here and there look at that there you go nice just what I'm talking about look at that little golden color sweet so I dug back over to the left side here and look what has exposed itself yes ooh nice this might be one of the nicest ones I found yet today besides that last one look at that oh man the colors look at the golden color you look at that yes sir man I like those golden color Herc's some call them golden aura I like that term as well there's such beauty look at that is that a rainbow yeah oh man look at the rainbow what oh yeah Wow all right let's see if we got any more in here just pull it out a couple of chunker pieces nice ones let's see got here and nothing see if we got any more might be the bottom of the up no yep just matrix oh there we go look at that nice nice super shiny sweet little piece I might have been the last one nope look at that jolly just right next to it which is how they form a lot of times look at that one's got some inclusions cool nice well that's probably getting to in this pocket see if there's any more feels like the bottom of it yeah I think this is the end of this pocket looks like it but look at these two beauties here nice really cool came out right beside each other look at that there's Chris over there still going at it looking for the big ones we got some awesome hawks and things flying around us checking out the Paradise Falls location and look at that just put out a super dark golden Herkimer maybe a little bit of red colors in there too so I'm sitting here and I was at the end of the pocket so I'm just gonna go ahead and keep in the top and this one fell right down look at that just picked it up big honker right at the end of the day nice way to wrap it up look at that Paradise Falls Middleville New York what a place to be digging out awesome Herkimer diamond quartz crystals one of the nice ones from today and it'll go with the rest of them look at that had a nice haul checking out this nice scenery on the way down and then we're gonna go and wash up some of these crystals that we found found this dude this got a nice steady hand that'll hold our crystals for us while we check them out here here's a few of them cleaned up from this last dig you can really see why they call them Herkimer diamonds check out the rainbows and some of these they're really cool such a great time at Paradise Falls in New York [Music] [Music] this is a brand-new location in South Carolina we're gonna dig for a couple hours and see if we can find a few crystals crystal collector look at it up here Addison digging some chris fehn interesting stuff so we got a trench dug and we're finding crystals going from one side to the other so there should be more in here me aim it's gonna take a little more than check it out so we're finding the vein here and figured before I jump down in there we'll check some of this vein material there's a little crystal oh yeah look at that that's rock maybe yep there's crystals in there look at that little one small but we'll take the small ones some of these small crystals here seem to have some milky phantoms and they're really clear do a sample oh yeah look at that that's not bad not bad it's like he's got some kind of like neat triple formations sweet yeah so boom my name is bullying very ready yeah oh yeah that's what I'm yeah there's a little bit for everyone area [Music] get it going let's see oh so we don't hit the vein here you can see like the mediocre crystals here but they're running about two foot under the surface and you don't ever know how good the crystals are going to be they're just forming all weird ways but we're getting them this one right there oh look at this panel yeah a nice deep phantom wow that's an essence that's pretty cool right there man what you get nice that's a No are you serious that the dirt it must have fell right out of the top and that's a big Christopher that's what we won't alright let's dig a few more out didn't found another little pocket here sometimes these are just plain courts sometimes they have crystals this one has some crystals but they didn't grow that well as you can see we've pulled out a few crystals but you don't ever know this was loose ooh here we go look at that look at the Phantoms sweet look at those phantoms that's pretty cool get that that's pretty fun out here in South Carolina but we're finding the vein and looks like we've got a brand new spot to dig on the next crystal collector we're going amethyst crazy first we're going over to Ellis mine in
