Amazing Herkimer Diamond Quartz Crystal Mining | New York

[Music] cleaned up here oh look at that there it is [Music] oh it's yellow golden [Music] today we're in new york at a really cool location called paradise falls you can find some of the best herkimer diamonds in the world at this location let's check it out so i haven't been here in like three years it looks a little bit different but let's walk around first and see where we're gonna go dig maybe do some test digs and see what we can get into go ahead boy all right so i heard a bunch of hooping and hollering and i walk over and i didn't know if that camping couple had got this or john but i believe he has got one look check this out oh what yes look at that so check out that herkimer beautiful let's get some rainbows in it just needs a little bit of cleaning there's the other termination beautiful the first unbelievable hour of the day finds a huge palmer herkimer that is wild i love it this is awesome matrix boy you're slacking on the job look buddy look boy that's what happened so i think i found a spot to dig i've already looked down and there's a crystal on the surface just from fresh rains and stuff but i'm gonna go ahead and dig down into this pocket but let's check this crystal out good boy you can see right here there's a crystal it's a small one but that my friends is a herkimer diamond matrix is already getting excited get em boy all right let's clean this one off he's like what are you doing that's not food but sometimes you just want to see what they're going to look like and check that out you can see why they call these herkimer diamonds so let's see if we can find one about 10 times that size what's called a palmer look right there tiny one but it's a keeper you wipe some of the dirt off of this thing and you'll see that is in fact a tiny crystal so down in the hole you can see a bunch of rock that's kind of halfway decayed but you see this rounded stuff this this rounded rock actually shows you that you're getting into some good stuff at least at this location because that's where these pockets were forming in and out i'm gonna go ahead and start moving some of the overburden here and then i'm gonna go into this wall of rock and we'll see if we can get into a pocket we've got that camping couple over there digging they're pulling them out already all right there it is is that the one that's the one cleaned up a bit but look at that they found it within the first five minutes of being here and already what look at that a handful uncleaned getting it done all right matrix we're coming up short start digging boy i need you to dig so today the tools that i'm going to be using a little set of gloves here whoa where'd that come from a shovel the good old trusty s wing and we've got a special surprise to help us dig today check this out how you like it boy think you can run it i'm going to move some of this overburden first so let's get to it so you can see down in this hole all of this is area and backfill that's already been dug so as i go down i'll have to remove this rubble and i'd say down to about right here is the line so anywhere in this stuff here i could find herkimers even in this dirt because they've decayed down into these layers but what i'm going to be going for today mostly isn't the dirt layer but this lower layer where the pockets should be what's going on over there oh they didn't find another one two seconds ago okay and then appreciate it there you go oh there's that one and another one here it is oh and they both came out of this one little bitty hole right here i mean just a little hole oh so you got a little uh pocket looks like it yeah yeah touch screen [Laughter] all right boy get them boy dig them out a little bit of overburden here but once we get down below the leaves there we're getting right back into it and they can be anywhere in this dirt here matrix digging right out of my main pocket here is that where they're at boy some hard rock down look at this oh nice check it out let's get it a little bit cleaned up here super sweet looks like some internal fractures but the outside of this piece is really good condition let's clean her up matrix is going at it good job boy look at that good job come look that is beautiful man matrix was digging and i seen it that is awesome good job matrix nice all right this looks like a nice decayed section here so whenever i drop this there could be something in it there's a little small one there so these pockets have decayed slightly near the surface so crystals can kind of fall here or there sometimes you can get into a better section or a worse section or like you know more concentrated or less but you never can tell here when that huge herkimer is just going to fall right out another little small as i'm digging and pulling out some of this rubble you've always got to keep your eyes open you can see right there look at that i haven't even touched it yet decent size nice look at that looks like the backside had broken off probably had water in it but nice maybe a golden healer let's clean her up so yeah you can see a little bit of yellow inclusions in there see where that bottom half is missing but really cool these are what's kind of been dubbed as a golden healer so guess what you guys this is going to be piece number one i'm going to give this away so stick around to the very end of the video and i'm going to show you how to enter the giveaway i'm gonna do a few more during the video too this is piece number one way down in here but it looks good it's a lot of crevices and things where these rocks have split [Music] this battery-powered hammer drill really a game changer look at this see when you start getting this color dirt you're really getting close to where pockets were forming especially if it turns like a black color this is looking good here we're down about four foot below the surface and look at this this is see when it gets loose like this sometimes it's because you had an open cavity and the pocket has fell down in here oh look at that there it is there it is right out of the pocket that one's got some really good clarity to it check that out looks like the back is a little busted up it just happens over time sometimes but still a good nice size herkimer all right look at that i don't see any crystals but what you're looking at here these are pockets see that oh there are crystals in there maybe i think i see one yep look at that so there's probably gonna be more crystals down there because this was facing down let's see if i can roll it out here all right so look at that you can see in the pocket yeah i think it's loose get it out of here you never know might be pretty good okay it's loose here so yep this one just kind of grew together but we'll see i don't see any more i bet you there are some crystals below this here all right i see one already look there it is just look at that nice that's a cool little piece so there you have it nice little herkimer and i bet you there's maybe some more that wasn't a huge pocket i expect to see maybe a few smalls oh look at that there it is so it did have a pretty good sized crystal in that pocket look at the beautiful faces that's like probably the best thing you guys right there is when you get to pull these crystals out and wipe the faces clean at least for me that's like my favorite part you just things been in there dirty forever wow so this looks like number two you guys for the giveaway and i'll explain later why i am numbering these i'm gonna be giving these pieces away so stick around to the end of the video to see how i will give this piece to you guys what matrix hanging out up there and let's get back to it it could have just been one up i think i just seen a small there's a small i wanted to watch these little small ones off and check them out at the end of the video i'll show everything all cleaned up at the end but i like this scenario here because look at that there's another one yeah this is a pocket you guys so our first real pocket of the day even though i have found some floater crystals that was an actual pocket here and sometimes it might go underneath there we're going to keep chasing this all right i think this rock is loose i'm gonna try to flip it oh yeah this could be good the bottom of this looks like the top of a pocket and if it is then we're gonna find crystals all underneath this rock all right come check it out so you can see the piece just pulled out there's no crystals on it but you can see how smooth and convoluted it is so that tells me that the crystals should be right below it they may be small they may be large we don't really know it's looking good i like this dirt underneath it oh there it is there's one i'm getting into something here you know it's tough to see move a little bit more rock save this little guy what's up bro there you go boy enjoy that nice view there so i had to pull out the headlamp it's not really getting that dark but i'm getting deep oh and i don't even see that until i turn the light on so there's one small but look at this right there you can see it in the wall see if we can pull it out there it is oh and it's nice and clean and it's got maybe an inclusion we'll clean it up here and see what it looks like i think i just dropped that other one there it is so a couple of crystals right there boy it looks so good look at that i can dig it out with my hand there should be some crystals in here oh yeah when you're seeing that color frank walks up and shows me this piece check it out just found it about 20 foot right over the ridge there so i guess this will be giveaway number three maybe on our video ah they don't do videos nah check out that camping couple link in the description all right you guys i believe i've hit a pocket here way down in here and i can tell just from the consistency this stuff feels like super silky dirt and i already see one right there look at that i don't know if this is gonna be the only one or if there'll be more set it right set it right there for now i know it didn't look like much but we'll get it washed off but i expect to find a few more here in this pocket oh there's what's that there it is look at that oh and it's yellow golden that's what's really special about this location oh wow it's like an orange yellow golden aura herc check that out what that's a cool one look at that even matrix came down here to see it look at that boy there's a good one so still digging here and kendall comes over she's gonna show me a piece that they just found what look at that man nice very nice thank you oh boy matrix you about got me there boy oh look a little small one what a fun day of digging you can see i found several crystals out of the pocket probably dug for four or five hours some of the smaller crystals are really super clear a couple of nice golden healers you can see a really large crystal here just beautiful stuff i mean check that out a little bit of smoky color even this is probably the larger one of the pocket this one came out very clear you can see the water channels that run through it and even a bit of water what beautiful rainbows from internal fracturing still very cool and unique what a great day be sure to check out future videos i'm going to dig this spot maybe for a several day period and see what we can really get down and find one of the larger crystals to come out beautiful nice double terminated touch of smoky color rainbows all in it what a nice
