Digging in the woods for 1950 Chevy parts.

so i'm out here at my junkyard we're grabbing uh jack maybe we ought to go back there and take a look real quick it's been a long time since i mean if the car is gone i mean last time i saw it it was here it's been a long time so uh yeah it's been a dec over a decade i'm gonna walk the tracks because uh it's a little bit clearer keep an eye out for snakes dude when did i um i just heard something scurry probably 15 years ago you think it's been longer than that yeah what year did you graduate high school 03. that was 19 years ago so it was around high school it was around high school yeah so it's been like 19 years it's got to be here it's got to be here they've been working on the tracks they've been replacing some uh some ties all right it's supposed to be back here i should be heading straight for it there it is dude the hood's gone somebody uh someone's been picking um they took the windshield somebody somebody's been picking somebody's been stealing parts off my car dude what the that sucks i wish i could find the people that did it i'd be whooping how hard is it to um find who's got the uh a 1950 chevrolet yeah yeah yeah um somebody's got my hood dang it that sucks i could have used the hood on my car well you've got the hood from the 49 that i used to have that's now yours but the 53. so yeah but the 49 hood will fit on the 53. but the 49 can go on the 49. yeah all right anyhow it's still jacked up and i already stole the um uh the rear leaf spring the purchase yeah i stole those off to put on the 49ers right so those are gone yeah all right bro all right oh man i didn't bring any of the uh spray did you bring any tetanus shots no you're on your own on that let me go grab the uh you're going for it aren't you yeah i mean i got to get home for dinner all right well uh let's just move this uh oh you know what we can probably get it from the outside no floor no i don't think so the frame hold on this fender is i'm gonna need a screwdriver to pop it hold on cuz i might need the skin let me go get my tools all right so we got we're getting a jack and some tools and heading back out there you know i'm going to get so much flack from walking the tracks last time i rode a go-kart down the side of the tracks i had one dude say that he was going to unsubscribe because i was riding down the side of the tracks why because it's unsafe i guess i mean and and there's a crossing right there we'll hear it coming yeah well the fact is is the the train wasn't even running anymore on those tracks yeah um so anyhow i got a lot of sensitive fans some people just need something to be upset about that's okay oh yeah that's all right man you never know he could have had somebody that was seriously injured or killed in an accident and you never know what's going on in somebody's life to make them think a certain way about things man you need a break no i'm kidding you're moving kind of slow it's kind of heavy yeah you know i think it's cool though that uh [Music] because you know of course when i was building my car which you stole from me um hold on now hold on now no sir you traded the car for a tattoo okay but um and then i found the car in the woods and i i rescued it yeah so yeah um anyways what was i saying oh yeah before you stole before you stole the car from me you know i never reading through hot rod magazine and stuff is kind of all i had back then and um it wasn't really a good picture of exactly what it takes to own and drive a hot rod it takes a tremendous amount of dedication and effort um crawling through the woods getting some parts laying on your back stealing parts out of the car you bought 20 years ago because you thought you might need it hey you need it i need it i never thought actually that this day would come and i would be driving one actually right especially after everything that took place with my 49 right never thought i would uh be able to drive one so i'm gonna put put this jack underneath the front and i'm gonna jack up on it okay here's some uh here's some boards blaster you want me to video you for a little bit watch you work i'll get the front end all right i need a break all right man i wish i could find who uh stole the parts off this car well maybe now that it's gonna be on the um the tube um they stole the radiator out somebody has come clean i want to kick yeah the the only thing i've taken off of this car so far has been those um yeah for the rear shocks that's it you want you want these boards ground's probably a little soft we've got some rain yeah i think i'm gonna get a board so whenever i jack it up um the jack will scoot a little bit with the uh while i'm jacking up on it i'm mad i am legit mad that someone's coming over here and grabbing parts i don't remember if it had the uh front bump though the grill grill did it i don't remember someone stole the freaking grill yeah again i want to kick somebody's out those words are going to be bleeped out that's fine yeah they get the idea who knows that might have been a good engine i don't know i don't remember i just know that um when we when we went and picked the car up and um for what i paid for it i think we've still got a good deal sitting here um but the reason you remember the reason he got rid of it is just because the the whole bottom of the floor is gone yeah the whole whole bottom of the car is gone right and he was a corvette guy anyways yeah so all right [Music] you think that's enough i'll find out won't i i hope not let's uh let's get under there and see what happens all right hey man keep your back straight you're gonna hurt yourself by arching your back like that lift with me lift with the legs yeah all right so we got jack and two cinder blocks now let's see what's uh going on junk yard safety oh yeah it's totally the uh steering box in it yeah yeah but oh does it yeah cool check the what check the can check what out oh that washer it's the windshield washer that thing had a windshield washer but it sure did look it's glass and it's not broken that's awesome i wonder if it'll work on yours um i don't know i know they i think these are all vacuum actuated aren't they not the uh the motor is but not the washer that's awesome well i don't have windshield wipers all right gotcha all right so you're going under there man i didn't bring any of the wasp spray you're a brave man do you see the linkage it should be right there you see it yeah all right how's it look rusty well yeah but why is there a problem with it no why don't you um you want me to crawl under there all right well that's fine look very good make sure there's nothing under there that can get me i don't see any i know you're allergic to these and i don't want to get bit by a snake either no all right so we're good if i if i scream i want you to grab my legs and yank me out okay i don't don't know that that's gonna be what we need but if you say it is it an automatic it's funny i mean you should it's like the linkage is like it's a short stubby thing yeah but i i from being under my core and looking at it i don't know that's going to be enough go on go just do it you're gonna have to yeah there you go is that a gun no all right this is so scary all right can i have a wrench please you want pb blaster okay guys this right here is what we're after and uh let's try three-quarter oh i just want to go ahead and record my last will and testament while the camera's under here here we go found a piece of the trim we need to make sure this is this is safe that's stainless steel baby i saw your leg come over now i didn't know if i could see you from uh man the holes in the floorboard you know i it really doesn't look much worse than when we put it back here to me i don't recall other than someone stealing the windshield or breaking the windshield yeah still in the grill um i want to kick somebody or if it had the uh the grill in it i just don't remember you know what i feel like maybe it did and it was rusted through maybe maybe i don't know i just all of a sudden realize how did i get into this situation here because i was acting like i didn't know what i was doing so that i could come out and hold the camera no you know you're the one that said hand me a wrench it's because i'm under here this makes for for better uh filming anyways oh yeah when i scream like a little girl your channel yeah it's me all right i got the bolt loose we have a prop or a flathead screwdriver big flathead screwdriver uh might i don't think i have one in this box i got one in the i've got a um a pry bar i think in one of the other boxes in the back of the truck yeah you're not leaving me under here i have a inch and an eighth wrench um i got the thing loose but i'm trying to trying to get it right there dude are you touching my arm oh my god so we're both under here and we're both going to get eaten dude it's like right there hmm uh you got a hammer it's in my other box dude are you serious it's just wrenches in this one um you want to come out and i'll go get it i don't want to be under here by myself [Music] main sound cam in that thing jacked up we're gonna look underneath and we're hoping that the linkage is gonna work for us there's no telling because it's a four-speed manual transmission bolted up to a small block chevy with the factory clutch pedal linkage and well not the linkage but the clutch pedal assembly in there and they whoever did had this before i don't want to talk too much junk but it's janky i mean they made it work it drives they made it work it drives but uh i feel like this might work better so i'm gonna get underneath and take a look i think there's more room underneath that one at the yard oh gosh they used man they used the uh like 66 chevy truck shift fork this would have pulled a transmission on it gotta pull the transmission they sure did oh you know what that means we got to come up with a shift work why'd i think this uh thing had a uh original shift work in it man i don't know oh my gosh dude they have the correct linkage in it they have the wrong ship fork are you gonna kick me in the in the gut now no that's fine um maybe you should just put that linkage somewhere you'll know where it's at though so for next time we're gonna have to pull the motor out of that 51 or i need to find another shift port i'm gonna google it and see what we got i'm sorry buddy well that's quite all right yeah maybe we can um maybe we can find one like on ebay or something yeah that's what i was thinking you know pulling the engine out of that thing is going to be a real pain
