uh we've been quiet today it's been it's been a nice day we've had mostly cloudy skies for a good chunk of the day then we saw some clearing for the second half and we'll see clouds build back in throughout the day tomorrow and certainly overnight tonight now let's talk about storm and rain chances the rain chance is scattered and spotty throughout the day the storm chance will not arrive until late at night and the cold front responsible this is going to take its sweet time getting here into the dallas fort worth area there's 7 a.m you see there's some showers still scattered around the area look at 12 it's barely moved but we'll have some spotty showers across north texas you see some scattered rain is possible sunday is not a washout so don't cancel your plans but there will be a little bit of rain around even by seven it's not even in gainesville yet so here's what temperatures look like tonight behind the front 40s ahead of the front 60s most of you watching right now will stay in the low to mid 60s tonight and we'll touch about 80 degrees tomorrow afternoon because the cold front won't have made it in to the metroplex or most of north texas by that time it's still hanging between bowie and archer city by sunday afternoon then it finally starts to make its approach sunday night watch what happens as it does we'll have a few thunderstorms erupt and that this is when we could see a few strong to severe thunderstorms with some winds up to 60 and some hail up to the size of quarters there's midnight see some thunderstorms from mckinney this is a low risk this is not a very high risk of severe weather but it's there especially northeast of the dallas fort worth area there's one o'clock in the morning the thunderstorms are east of the dallas fort worth area by one to two o'clock in the morning then the rain is out of north texas by the time we get to daybreak so again there could be a few strong to severe thunderstorms that's our primary focus is northeast of the metroplex pretty low in threat for the dallas fort worth area just hail risk up to quarters and wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour we may see a quick tenth to a half an inch of rain that's it it's not going to be a big drought busting rain but we'll take what we can get tonight 64. mild and breezy and muggy tomorrow 80 degrees with scattered showers there's the next 10 days gardeners don't say we didn't warn you saturday morning it looks like we'll see a widespread freeze across north texas with lows getting into the 20s for most of our area so just keep that in mind
