hi everyone here is a defensive shape drill that will help keep your defense compact while also encouraging creativity from the attacking players [Music] the drill is set up in a 20 by 10 yard rectangle with a four versus four in the middle in this example the four reds are working in number eight and the four blues are working with number six and the goal of this drill is for the number eight and the reds to play the ball back and forth and to look for gaps in the blue defense and the goal of the blue defense is to stay compact and not let the ball cross over to number six [Music] if the ball does cross the number six then it's a flip-flop now the blue teams are looking to keep the ball and the red team are looking to defend and stay compact be sure to encourage your team staying in their shape and fix anything you may need to we don't want it looking like this where it looks like a possession or a rondo drill the goal of this drill is to keep in our shape [Music] [Music] so there's a defensive shape drill to help keep your team compact but also encourage players on the outside to be creative and look for through balls have fun and good luck [Music]
