thinking tonight thinking tonight [Music] how you doing i'm phil hudson-peller and pastor at influence church and i want to share a 911 story with you that many people have wondered about ask about but my wife and i were leaving laguardia on 9 11 that morning and as that plane took the route it took by tower number one right when plane the first plane flew into the twin towers so we actually saw it go in saw the flames come out but we didn't know that it was a terrorist attack we thought that it was an accident we were down in detroit and made our way back in a car with six other people we didn't know got to talk pray with them share about what was happening our daughter was in a local school that was a manhattan coastal manhattan and we didn't know about her was she safe were we safe but let me tell you a story her best friend megan her dad was a new york fireman who went into the tower and he didn't make it out name is bruce van hine and i just talked to megan last week and i said megan how you doing and she said you know it still seems like it was yesterday and now i have all these children that my dad will will never see until heaven but there's the promise amen the promise is heaven and glory and god's presence and i think we're all forever grateful for those first responders [Music] who went into that burning tower who went to the pentagon who who really spent can you just put your hands together let's give them a big round of honor [Applause] you know there was a cloud that was over new york what seemed like for months and i remember driving into manhattan one day and looking at that big cloud of dust and it was like and i would just the tragedy was in my heart but all of a sudden god spoke to me and he said i want you to know that out of every tragedy there comes glory and i want you to think about a glory cloud i want you to think about the presence of god and what i can do and in times of discouragement and disaster and defeat in our life we never need to fall back into despair we press forward into the presence of almighty god we give him glory praise and honor can we just give god glory honor and praise this night amen and amen i want to ask if any of you first responders would you just raise your hand just slip your hand up wherever you are first responder raise your hand thank you so much our prayers are with you we love you we thank you for your contribution wherever you live and whatever you do and we pray god's blessing tonight on you and on what we're going to do tonight and tomorrow and may god's glory come to washington dc may this be the place where revival breaks out may we see the hand of god turn the hand of the king like waters in his hand may we see that in our day would you just say i agree pastor i agree god bless you have a good day [Applause] can we thank jesus for our beautiful day what incredible weather i remember 21 years ago we had the call dc here a half a million people by one o'clock and it started to rain but it was a beautiful rain because it was very light and was so hot that day and it was a gift from god and i believe that god's gracious to give us a day like today that i believe is going to be absolutely epic it's going to be historic i believe we could see a at the beginning of the greatest revival the history of the church birth out of let us worship why i love you and i love the united states of america i came to this country as an immigrant my dad actually came first he was the first korean southern baptist pastor in north america he came in 1958 but we had some visa problems so my mother my sister and i came in 1960 november 1960 and i remember coming to this country and it was just so amazing so immense so big and now many years later i've had the privilege of traveling to 92 nations this is not a hyperbole we're our ministry harvest international ministry which i'm privileged to serve we're in 70 nations so i've traveled around the world and here's the thing every time i come back i say this is the greatest nation in the world it is the best by far now i'm from california even from pasadena california this extreme left state is still the best nation in the world but we've had a quite a year i believe that california with governor newsom was maybe the most egregious lockdown of all the states and the reason why i say that is because 49 states opened some form of in-person worship and we were the 50th and the only reason why we opened at that time is because we won a lawsuit against nusamp and the supreme court said 6-3 it's totally unconstitutional to lock down their church let me tell you what happened when we sued and i mean we i mean harvest rock church and harvest international ministry we have around 150 ministries and churches in california alone and when we sued governor newsom the next month we sued him july 2020 the next month august i got this dark nasty letter from our city prosecutor in pasadena and she was saying this is a heads up we are coming to arrest you for opening up your service we had been open since uh pentecost sunday may 31st we're gonna arrest you we're gonna find your church members a thousand dollars per person for every time they've been meeting since pentecost sunday and then the last paragraph she she wrote and we reserve the right to arrest your church members meanwhile governor newsom has allowed thousands of prisoners out of prison because of covet crowdedness up today around 20 000 rapists criminals have been released and i'm reading this letter i said this is madness here they want to arrest law abiding citizens who pay their taxes who simply want to worship jesus meanwhile nuisance allowing criminals out and i said to myself this is not north korea i'm in the united states of america [Music] now why did i say north korea because my dad was born in pyongyang north korea and when 1945 when the war ended as you know stalin and roosevelt divided the nations and stalin wanted all of korea to be communists to be a buffer against the japanese because they're at war against the japanese and so were we at that time but they made it just this arbitrary decision on the 38th parallel to just divide north korea from south korea and then 1948 a few years after war ii kim il-sung became the dictator of north korea and he is the grandfather of kim jong-un who's now the dictator of north korea one of the most oppressive communist nations in the world their human rights record is absolutely appalling it's like a nation is under a concentration camp the whole nation so when he became dictator he wanted to invade south korea to unify the whole korea as as communists so what he did was he arrested all pastors as you know communism is a marxist ideology they don't believe in god and because they don't believe in god they know that pastors will be the ones that will speak because we believe there's a higher authority than stalin or newsome or president by there's a higher authority jesus is lord over the nation he is lord [Applause] and so my dad was arrested and it wasn't for the u.s soldiers that intervened in the korean war in 1950 that pushed north korea all the way to the chinese border my dad would not have been released and so he along with millions came and migrated down i'll tell you people hate communism those who have experienced that they hate it so millions came to south korea and my dad met my mom in a presbyterian church and then they had me a few years later so thank god for that but the point is the point is is that my dad knew communism is about see those who come from cuba from venezuela we could tell you and we are now in the battle for the soul of this nation socialism marxism is coming the ideology is creeping into california and we need to take a stand for righteousness we need historic revival and reformation to transform this nation the good news is that signs of revival is here we want the supreme court then they can never lock down the church no governor could ever lock the church down again in perpetuity no matter who's in office [Music] because we want the supreme court case the senate presidents number two i don't know if you saw that but the supreme court ruled in the texas heartbeat law 5-4 that is the side the revival reformation is here i believe that us worship is a sign of another jesus people movement that's bringing forth in america [Applause] and so we have our work cut out and that's why we need to humble ourselves and pray seek his faith see judgment always begins in the house of the lord first peter 4 17 it says in second chronicles 7 14 if my people not the white house not the congress if my people are called by my name will humble themselves and pray seek my face and turn from their wicked ways he's talking about the church people the church has become lukewarm it's become like a church in laodicea and makes god nauseous and he's calling for the church to return to her first love to love jesus with all of our heart mind soul and strength and it doesn't take many you had dave in the cave of adelaide with 400 you had gideon with 300. you had the upper room with 120 that turned the world upside down i believe that the critical mass created here today can turn the world upside down god bless you let's believe god for historic revival you today i was asked by sean floyd to say a message to our military personnel and our active duty our veterans and the heroes that we've lost how many heroes veterans active or veterans do we have in the audience right now god bless you and i believe that there's millions watching right now and i just want to say we honor you we thank you we appreciate you and we're praying for you our veterans and our active duty they represent the best of who we are they signed up to serve this country that we love so much they salute the flag they honor and respect our national anthem and they are the best and brightest hope for america [Applause] because of those tragic days that day on 9 11 and the events that followed so many of our heroes were tasked to go to war to go fight on our behalf to help keep us safe so that we would not have more tragic events like that taking place here on our homeland and while we've seen glimpses of what's taken place and we know some of the heartache from the videos and the images that we've seen friends it was only just a glimpse of what so many of our military and our veterans have had to endure we'll never know all the moments millions of moments that our heroes had to endure with no one around with nobody watching sacrificing their lives for us i know we say when we see active duty or veteran we say thank you for your service i think a more honoring understanding tribute is thank you for your sacrifice they've sacrificed time with their family they've sacrificed holidays christmases thanksgiving even the birth of children they've sacrificed to serve this great country of ours you know jesus wasn't in the military so to speak but he is the commander-in-chief of god's army and how did jesus lead as a servant he was a servant king one of the greatest quotes i heard from my pastor bill johnson was lead with the heart of a servant and serve with the heart of a king that's who jesus is that's how he lived and friends that's how our brave men and women that have signed up to serve our country that's what they've done so i want to give honor and tribute to the 13 men and women so many of them so young gone way too soon for any military personnel any veterans anyone that is struggling with the absolute debacle of what just took place in afghanistan so many veterans are hurting i get messages sent to me from all over the country from veterans who are hurting because they feel that what they did the time they spit was wasted on how we just left afghanistan but what i want to say to you right now if you're watching if you're listening your time was not in vain you served you served well you represented us well you represent america well we are with you we love you we're praying for you and god i will just pray for that very veteran right now that active member right now god that's watching that's listening that says yes i feel hopeless i'm depressed god i just speak your peace right now god we release peace right now and comfort only the way you can comfort you are the comforter god we release peace and comfort to anyone any military personnel veteran family member that feels depressed destitute god fill life and fought for the unborn he stood for israel and fought to recognize jerusalem as its rightful capital no president has endured the onslaught of attacks that he faced from the media big tech corporations and big businesses they went after him tooth and nail but he never backed down he stood firm and he never quit fighting for us ladies and gentlemen please welcome the 45th president of as our nation commemorates the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of september 11 2001 a terrible day i want to thank sean floyd and everyone from the amazing let us worship movement for hosting this very beautiful and incredible event since last year you have brought worship and prayer to 132 cities all across the country including the largest church service in america right here in our nation's capital by uniting citizens of all denominations and backgrounds to promote faith and freedom in america you are strengthening our entire nation and we thank you for it there could be no more fitting night for americans to join hands and bow our heads in prayer than this evening two decades after nearly 3 000 americans were murdered at the world trade center the pentagon and a field in western pennsylvania we honor the memory of every innocent soul killed in the september 11th attacks we cherish their legacy and we reaffirm our everlasting vow to never forget we all remember hearing in the hours and days after the attacks the stories of police officers and firefighters and first responders who showed bravery and daring far beyond the call of duty as a lifelong new yorker it was extraordinary to witness the strength and resilience of people of that incredible city and it is indeed an incredible city they raced into danger toward the smoke without a thought of their own safety the heroism of the nypd and the fdny fire department police department the port authority police as well as the first responders at the pentagon and so many others will live in our national memory for all time tonight i want to express our thanks to every first responder president on the national mall you are the very best of our nation you are incredible people i also want to ask every american here today and all across the country to take a moment to share our gratitude for the countless people active duty service members veterans and military families who have sacrificed to defend our country over the past two decades and let's especially be thanking and thinking of the brave heroes who served in afghanistan they courageously volunteered to hunt down the vile killers who attacked america and to eliminate the menace of radical islamic terrorism from the face of the earth and i know what you're thinking because we have suffered a great great embarrassment over the last week a terrible thing has happened terrible decisions were made by this administration but you are brave you are incredible and it will be made up earlier today members of the let us worship movement place flags on the graves of every service member in arlington cemetery who gave their life for our nation since september 11th to the gold star families present on the mall and to the families of all of the service members who have made the supreme sacrifice in our fight against the terrorist enemy please know that you have our undying loyalty and eternal devotion and the love and support of every single american as we pray and reflect on this anniversary one story from that terrible day points the way forward for our nation and reminds us of the infinite source of our hope as black smoke was billowing from across the potomac at the pentagon and the skies of new york were full of ash and flame a lone figure stood at a window near the base of the north tower of the world trade center father michael judge was the chaplain of a new york city fire station when the first plane struck the world trade center he raced inside knowing the danger video testimony shows him standing still at the large window looking at people falling to their desks a friend and fellow priest later recounted that if you watch carefully you can see the father's lips moving for those of us who know him the friend said he wasn't one that talked to himself he was praying moments later the south tower collapsed and the implosion shattered that last window and killed father mike the day before he died father mike spoke at the dedication of a new york city fire station before a group of firefighters he shared a message that echoes across all time you do what god called you to do he told them you show up you put one foot in front of the other you get on the rig and you go out and you do the job which is a mystery you have no idea what god has calling for you you have no idea where you're going and in some cases you don't know why but he needs you he needs me he needs all of us tonight father mike's words remind us that in the end there is only one true answer to the depth and the evil that we saw on september 11th it is god that is the answer that stood tall over the records at ground zero where rescuers forged the mighty steel cross from the fallen towers broken beams it is the same sight that was seen hundreds of miles away in shanksville where the first spontaneous memorial to the heroes of flight 93 was a simple but beautiful wooden cross and it is the same turning to god the ultimate answer to evil that we see here today as thousands of americans gather on the mall to pray for our beloved nation and to pray for one another i want to thank let us worship for calling americans to 21 days of prayer in the coming weeks america is a nation strengthened and sustained by god and the prayers of all his children your faith is a force that our enemies can never ever extinguish your love of god family and country is more powerful than any adversary's hatred or malice or scorn so as we remember those americans we lost two decades ago we return again and again to the same simple prayer that was heard echoing all across our land in the days after the september 11th attacks god bless our first responders god bless our service members god bless the memory of all agree with people we have freedom in america that's why we were attacked 20 years ago now i got to tell you my wife and i uh were in new york and we live in manhattan we were in manhattan when that horrible thing happened we were there that day and we could smell the the ashes this sickly smell it was the smell of death it was horrifying it was the smell of evil but something happened in america 20 years ago many people realized who hadn't realized before there's such a thing as evil they realized it and i have to say something else happened to a lot of people a lot of us realized in a way we never realized before i love america and we understood that loving america is not something you know that the cultural elites the cognizant they look down on people who love the country you know the rubes who gather on the mall to pray you know they're they're they're above that well let me tell you something donald trump is not above that and that's why he was elected president did i say twice did i say that um folks we have enemies we have enemies uh and i'm just here to tell you that god is our only hope in this nation and it's why we beseech him today we pray to him and i want to say the way to honor those who died in the cause of freedom the 13 who died very recently wearing the uniform the the the three thousand who died 20 years ago we cannot honor them folks we cannot honor them unless we deal with why they were killed we have to stand up for freedom now and we have to stand against the enemies of freedom now we have to do that lincoln at gettysburg said it is for us the living that's us to be dedicated to the unfinished work which they who fought and died have thus far so nobly advanced we today have to stand and fight for freedom and the enemies of freedom whether they are atheists in the communist party in china or whether they are radical islamists who hate us or the taliban or people in this country who have bought into a woke marxist ideology that is fundamentally anti-american that will hurt the poor and that is against the god who gave us the freedom that we have we need to be clear on this folks the deep state in america today you know there's a lot of people today saying oh we're honoring what happened 20 years ago let me tell you something if you're part of the deep state if you're a career politician do you know that that's precisely what the founders set up so we would not have career politicians you know there are some politicians they have been there for 50 years did you know that that is antithetical to the freedoms that we have in this nation lincoln said in the gettysburg address that this nation under god shall have a new birth of freedom i believe those words were prophetic i don't believe that happened until now we will now as a result of revival and as a result of crying out to jesus we're going to experience revival and a new birth of freedom in america where we appreciate the freedoms that we've been given everywhere around the world we have a burden before god to steward this freedom that we have and what was done to us 20 years ago folks that didn't stop then it is happening now and we need to fight it we need to fight it on our knees in prayer we need to fight it by joining school boards we need to fight it by not obeying things that are not just rules and laws i want to tell you folks that god in heaven is our source donald trump just said it he just said it that what who is our hope when the chips are down i believe the lord is allowing us to go through this dark season to wake up his people he's allowing us to go through this hell to wake us up so that when he delivers us as he delivered the israelites at the red sea we don't say thank you moses we say thank you father in heaven thank you father in heaven let me close in prayer abba father we cry out to you in desperation and we say father only you are able to deliver us only you are able to deliver us from the corruption in this city father god deliver us father god break the back of the enemy lord god save those who hate you save those in antifa and blm save them and cause them to turn to you and to rejoice that you have pulled them out of the pit and father god we know your hand is on this nation that you will bring justice to this nation will you will uncover the corruption and you will deal with what happened out in california i was also the former mayor of the city of thousand oaks and my mother used to say you don't talk about religion and politics and company and i'm the person you don't invite to the dinner party that's all i talk about and i'm here to talk to you about the church waking up california is struggling the governor said the church was not essential that's why i resigned from the city council because i swore to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic that governor said that abortion clinics were essential as they would sell the baby parts and rip the baby in its mother's womb and flush it into the sewer systems of our state that was essential he said cannabis distributors were essential in liquor stores but not the church and when he declared that in violation of the first amendment the church was silent and when we opened our event and we opened our church they said we were super spreaders with a virus that has a 99.5 survival rate we weren't super spreaders of a virus we were super spreaders of courage and that's what all of you have and the church needs to awaken to its responsibility 66 books of the bible cover to cover and the reality is god has come to set the captives free america is a constitutional republic but it wasn't the first constitutional republic in the history of the world you see there was a 80 year old man named moses who was an instrument of the lord three to five million jews were enslaved they worked every day and they got nothing for their work and someone else was enriched by their labor and that was pharaoh and they cried out to god to be set free and god sent an 80 year old man by the name of moses he spent 40 years in the backside of the midian desert he was leathered and old and he said what do i do and god said tell pharaoh to let my people go he said who should i say has sent me he said i am moses like you got another name because that's weird he confronts pharaoh and he says god says let my people go and pharaoh says who is god that i should obey him and pharaoh as a tyrant doubles the brick output and reduces the materials for the jews and you know what the jews do three to five million they don't complain to pharaoh they want to kill moses people want freedom they just don't want to pay for it they don't want to suffer and yet god delivered them with ten plagues the last being the longest meal running family meal in history and that's the passover we celebrate communion as a church the angel of death passed over pharaoh relented and let the jews go he realized he was losing his slave economy so he sent his army after them they were trapped between two mountain ranges and and the egyptian army behind them in the red sea in front of them and again the jews began to complain and moses prayed to god and the red sea was parted there was a light that led them in complete darkness that that stifled the egyptians when they got to the other side god caused the red sea to drown all of pharaoh's army and when they got to the other side god said build a memorial and remember and you've forgotten who you are church and when they got into the wilderness of the desert with all these miracles their clothes didn't wear out for 40 years their shoes didn't wear out food would be provided every morning in the form of manna water where there wasn't they complained about meat so he had quail blown off course so they had meat coming out their nostrils and moses goes up on mount sinai and he gets a downloaded moral app the decalogue the ten commandments and that's the beginning of the constitution because the republic came when his father-in-law jethro said moses you can't do this by yourself you need to appoint godly men who are not covetous who love the law appoint them over thousands hundreds fifties tens federal state county local raise your hand if you're born on your birthday you guys okay good you're awake praise the lord all right when he comes down the mountain with the moral law the entire nation is in a rave party they built a golden calf and the music's bumping the tablet it doesn't say that in the scripture but i know what happened he comes down and he instructs the children in the moral law and he places it in the center of the community the law doesn't say but it preserves it's a school teacher guardian to point us to christ until faith comes galatians 3. and this is what happens the greatest miracle of all time three to five million people lived together for 40 years without a police force or a standing army we've forgotten the law it doesn't save it preserves and the church has abandoned its responsibility and so when christ gave the passover he talked about that deliverance remember who you were you were slaves and i've set you free from sin and death by the spirit of life in christ jesus and now you go and set the captives free and i close with this jesus said it's caesarea philippi on the headwaters of the jordan to the to his jewish disciples these orthodox boys surrounded by romans and pagan culture and a cacophony of noise worshiping gods and goddesses in that region and he says who do men say that i am they say some say you're jeremiah and others say john the baptist he says yeah but who do you say that i am and peter says you're the christ the son of the living god he says blessed are you square and the gates of hell will not prevail we are supposed to be in the middle of the of the culture contending for the laws the wise restraints that will make men free and if anyone comes to enslave us christ has said how will they know unless someone tells them and we have abdicated our responsibility in the ecclesia the public square and while we've been busy doing church the secular progressive left has dominated the public square church awakened it is time to take back the country and the world i'll close with this last thought my father i was six years old at that monument he was wearing his naval officer uniform and this entire mall was filled with hippies and they started throwing things at my father and he hid me behind his back my father had three tours of vietnam and i want to talk to the veterans when when vietnam fell it was 1975 memorial day i was nine years old my father said get in the car i didn't want to be with him i drove all the way to camp pendleton from san diego we get to the marine base he gets a crisp salute from the marine corporal we go in and there is tents as far as the eye can see i get out of the car with my dad he gets another salute they give him a card they tell him where to go and i walked through this tent city with sounds i'd never heard it was vietnamese boat people whose nation had been destroyed we get to the tent a man comes out he salutes my father and he says captain good to see you said major new win there's no salutes here your family you're coming home and he said captain since we last talked i'm married he said go get your wife let's go home we get in the car she doesn't speak a liquor english because she's from a rural village in vietnam and my mother was a meticulous housekeeper and when she'd vacuum she'd have lines in the carpet you have to fly from one room to the next she hated the smell of fried food mrs new wind and newlywed is frying fish in the kitchen in the newly remodeled kitchen my mother had just put new carpet in catches fire she does what any woman would do in a rural village kicks it into the dirt the car the carpet catches fire i'm thinking woman you're gonna die my mother says nothing at nine years of age i said mom why didn't you say anything she said rob they lost their country we can replace the carpet this is the united states of america the freest place on earth would have responded all of them would have been up here i felt like it was important for us to pray over the governmental leaders and even right now we just pray over joe biden and kamala harris wherever they are god get him with your glory we pray god fill them with your spirit come on we got to pray for them come on pray with them pray with me we pray for them tonight god we pray for them god as they go to sleep god that you would invade their dreams we pray lord that you would release wisdom and revelation god that your spirit would rest upon them we pray tonight god that they would with the sound of praise before we go back into worship we have something really special i want to do some of you may know or may have seen you know since the whole craziness in afghanistan i started to share the stories of when i was one of the first wave of missionaries that went there not long after 9 11. and um my parents are crazy you know they're they're full they were full-time medical missionaries i mean who let your 17 year old go to afghanistan after 9 11. that's my parents you know and i follow their footsteps i take my family to iraq i take my family all over we're about to go back to iraq this fall my whole family because we just believe man the hardest and darkest places belong to jesus and so tonight i want to do something really special and and you can throw up that picture it's kind of cheesy and funny and you can see a picture of me with short hair and no beard in afghanistan is it showing up there anyway they may get it up but i went there and i saw the hand of god move in that nation i saw unreached people give their life to jesus i saw taliban members encounter the presence of god and i believe that our calling in this season is we don't respond with fear we respond with faith just like with covid just like with this virus just like with this demonic thing we don't respond in fear we respond in faith with afghanistan we respond with faith we and i'm telling you right now there is about to be an explosion of revival in the underground church in that nation it's already happening and tonight we want to take a special offering for missions area with the taliban for years and so when this whole thing happened in afghanistan he was the first to die called me and him went into north korea together he's crazy he speaks fluent farsi which is the language of afghanistan in iran and i want him to just share quickly tonight as we give and he's going to pray over us amen such an honor to be with you jesus is alive i had the privilege to live for 10 years in afghanistan even under the taliban and i love the afghan people i had the privilege to visit iran and though i was imprisoned and beaten jesus rescued me and i love iran [Applause] jesus created these wonderful people and he wants to bring them to himself why because he's really really good in the last three weeks as we've watched afghanistan i've been getting texts and emails every day from all of my friends and let me tell you that god is going to win in afghanistan amidst all that we are seeing and hearing god is going to win over 40 years ago we saw the hand of satan come to the nation of iran and heavy islam came in the last 20 years iran has been the host of the fastest growing house church movement in the world [Music] millions of iranians have come to jesus afghanistan is like the sister there and we are believing for millions of afghans to know jesus as satan has played his hand through the taliban god is going to win today we know of thousands and thousands of taliban that are following jesus we know that so so many don't believe in what they're standing for they know there's got to be something else just three days ago i called my friends in afghanistan and this is what they said they said he's a fashion follower of jesus the same people group as the taliban and this is what he told me on the phone three days ago i just led my neighbor to jesus can i baptize him [Applause] three days ago [Applause] i said of course you can just get some water over him and tell him more about jesus [Music] just yesterday another person called and says in matthew 9 it talks about telling others about jesus i'm gonna go tell my afghan neighbors about jesus that just happened 24 hours ago friends it's a new day it's time to bring hope it's time to show the love of god it's time to go to the hardest and darkest jesus loves those places and jesus is worthy and jesus is worthy i'm so excited we get to be a part of what god's doing in that part of the world amen it's a new day and and we gotta tell them our announcement yeah ah john and i have been praying and talking about this and what better thing than let this work to be global and and next year me and sean are going to afghanistan it is time to worship publicly not just public friends not just where it's free technically but everywhere in the world let his name be worshipped publicly in every corner in every dark area in every area that cannot be you can't do it yes you can this name is going to be worshiped public everywhere amen come on
