don't like to do runs that have already been done and most people uh would already know that this is a meme run because of the whole one video that one guy did and you know what can someone look it up real quick i want to give appropriate credit um but someone has done the whip only run before which is a shame but i did it's it's like years ago hold on everyone's jumping in on this already let me to do the whole finagling where you somehow go around the boss and then can come back later so rather than do that i just loaded it in and if you all really want me to i'll just run and go get it like naturally after the fact it would be nice to have two whips actually ah that would be cheating um so we'll do this first and then we'll go get the whip as if we hadn't so cool beans cool beans all there's only three whips in the game uh i know some people have speculated like oh just use like fire whip and then no no no no we both know that's cheating we both know we're not going to do that flipping the peasant people they came at me first don't don't give them benefit of the doubt all right is there any reason to use a whip in a normal playthrough uh no maybe i don't know i've never used one let's put it that way can you play dark souls while actually using a shield for the defense for once never i refuse i refuse that's defeats the purpose and the challenge i think now we will we will use one for like stamina regen or things like that that's fine i guess but um but you know otherwise i just i just don't see it all right so dexterity let's see what we're looking at about three or two points per level not the worst thing i've ever seen um if i remember correctly by the end of the game we'll need about 20 dexterity maybe like i think we might be maxed out on strength already um now i do want to put some points into intelligence and attunement because we are going to try and go for some of the buffs that will help out a little bit so that's what we're going to do for now let's hold off on that because we can't even get that buff for a while so let's go ahead and take some dexterity for now we have our attunement slot so i won't forget that later so that'll help uh what am i doing what am i doing what am i doing uh we need to go to blighttown that's right big donut studio you're the asylum demon i'm this daddy well hey good luck with that [Laughter] geez until somebody makes that mod i am i'm out because i am not restarting the run every time i accidentally punch something in the face all right moving right along hope you're not too late ah you just we just got started you're right on time having a kick on a button is impossible but wish i had that yeah well i mean surely there's some way to do it surely there's a way where you can program it so that it always you know does that but who knows who knows yeah and if anyone's making any suggestions about like oh have you tried this weapon even though it's like way late in the game we can do it that is the beauty of the prepare to die edition is i can just kind of put it right in there for us so no problems as far as starting runs go anyway i should have should have left that down here egg run do it like i said if someone out there is willing to make a mod that somehow syncs that up so that it that the egg attack is linked to a button i'll give it a go until that point though golomax only you know we used the golomax quite a bit with the weapon art run i don't know if we really need to do it again i don't know why i knocked that down that was that was silly of me but too late now something that dark souls 2 whips had going for them as they didn't bounce off walls maybe could be misremembering that don't know should farm 30 dragon scales yeah okay let me just do that madness pierce shields i think oh man that's not fluid at all that is really bad link would be beneficial to dual wield this run uh it will be and we'll get there don't you worry but i need two whips first seen everything there's to see for the most part i know obviously there's plenty of games out there that do something completely different and i am excited for those games but for the most part i kind of feel like i've done most of what games have to offer at this point or at least a variation of it so in order to continue having fun with games i like to challenge myself a little bit gives me the brain tingles if you know what i mean makes the good drugs go but that's just me i'm just a little broken don't mind that all the f's carl's in chat there yeah exactly see someone someone gets it that co-op doesn't work very well and the few times that it did work well where i didn't get kicked from a connection error um we got invaded immediately by someone that had endgame everything so kind of ruined that experience too so i guess what i'm trying to say is i just don't like it that's that's all oh that's pretty good actually running damage not bad i see you oh by the way we're fighting invaders which would be very helpful as well because again anytime i try and play with my wife it's just it's just constantly getting invaded and neither of us are having any fun so frustrating all the way around you know how it goes i'd much rather play dark souls 2 uh co-op with my wife honestly we finished dark souls 1 and we had a great time and she's really wants to play dark souls 2 because i told her how much um how much better the magic gets as far as like just variation and stuff so she's super excited about it oh and also of course all the firebombs um but from soft needs to fist only challenge run is this a good idea for dark souls boy man creature thing um for dark souls no it's a terrible idea for salt and sanctuary uh it's all right and for salt and sacrifice it's a great idea chaos typhoon love salt and sacrifice after the first patch release had a bit too much juggling for my taste but that fixed and i love it yes yeah they added a lot of quality of life changes which is really great actually um yeah there was a few things where the for the average consumer that were too much um but it uh i they think they've i think they've taken care of pretty much all of that now so definitely way better than it was on launch for most people dave you really wanted to like it you really wanted to like salt too but it just felt too weird for you i like your experience with other ring it was the same thing as overwhelming eye catcher that's fair yeah um honestly it's not for everybody i can understand that and especially if you were just wanting more salt uh like more assault one it's it's definitely different uh zero hood are you sure on the fence about the new salt there are tons of problems with boss move sets and weapon balance including the bugs where two or three major spawn in one area i think they've actually taken care of that at this point if i remember correctly but you know maybe uh let's see josh completely agree with your take on elden ring played that game to completion not long after you uninstalled the game yeah you know honestly i'm kind of curious i'm kind of curious uh but i think um and hold on because i saw someone asked is salt and sanctuary co-op yes it is it is a local co-op or if you're playing on pc or a couple other things you can play online if you need instructions for how to do that it is all detailed that's ever been released everyone gives attends everyone loves it it's the best thing ever and now that the hype has gone down and that people have started to play it more than once people are going to start being like oh you know what actually maybe i don't like this that much and now we're going to start seeing the review pieces and people saying like you know actually elton ring isn't a good game and here's why and like you're gonna get a bunch of stuff like that so um that is a guess of course but i have a feeling that that's gonna start happening bioshock 3 wasn't great no it wasn't it wasn't it was actually pretty bad in a lot of respects and but if you go back to when reviews were happening and like the local uh opinion at the time everybody loved it so just interesting your first souls game so you don't know how that'll play out uh dark souls 1 is going to feel a little bit clunkier and less floaty than dark souls 2. but honestly whatever build your head in dark going back into gaming psychology where if uh so say you have a game right let's say uh what was the one that recently came out new world so you got new world all right cool people play it good it's at its peak because so many people are playing it great millions of players as soon as people start to leave the game is dead because the mentality is is that if an mmo is dying people don't want to play it anymore because you put a lot of hours into an mmo right and if you put hours into an mmo you don't want to put hours into undead mmo unless you really enjoy it um so people start to leave but that's actually like a catch-22 because as soon as people think about leaving then they start leaving because do you see what i'm saying if they think it's a dying mmo they'll leave and if people think it's if people start leaving people say it's a dying mmo so it continues and continues and continues and it's just a whole problem so i think mmos are a great genre they're a lot of fun that dark souls 2 did better in that regard in the sense that there is um even more variety and that there's not one ring that you will always equip like the fat ring and there's not one shield that you'll always grab like the stamina regen ring i mean a lot of people will still but it's less it's less obvious that that is the one thing that you'll go to which i appreciate all right rest of this i've tried like 17 different builds i've tried using magic i've tried using pyromancy i've tried using weapons and like the poor man perry as i call it where you can just kind of like you know shield bash them after the fact it's all nice but none of it has clicked for me all the weapons i've tried just none of them feel right so if i can't find a build that works then i i just don't have fun the only one that's felt right weirdly is uh throwing firebombs at enemies so like i said that'll be our that'll be our saving grace in our hail mary and whatever other analogies you want to use and we'll go from there i'm just gonna scoot my way through here where is the whip in here it's down at the bottom right oh that was close we're fine everything's fine nothing stops sexy party solaire not even sexy parties all right good and we'll go down and miss the door and where's that inevitable bird that always falls down here must be sick today okay there's demon souls how you guys doing and open
