Dame Joan Collins Reacts to Comments Made by Her Son | Good Morning Britain

it's so such an important campaign and as Charlotte says if we're already racking up the minutes this morning and Dame Joan Collins joins us to launch the whole thing and it's absolutely lovely having you here before we get back into it Joan you're all over the papers today and I know for not reasons you're not very happy about your son sasha has written this book in which he's made pretty extraordinary allegations about your ex-husband Tony newly who's obviously no longer with us it's suggesting that he was in some way a pedophile what is your reaction well I think that Sasha's being extremely naive and not really knowing the meaning of that word because of what Tony admittedly was is he loved young women and young women of 17 18 19 years old not children by any means never in a million years but I've been married to somebody like did you know that sasha was gonna do this book no I know the book yes but I didn't know that was in it because I didn't read the book no I haven't talked in the matters only came out yesterday and it's very irresponsible I think of the of the Sunday Times to put that in as a headline to make kind of world news and it is categorically I can say that it is not true that I never saw any of that kind of behavior from Anthony who I haven't seen well he's been dead for a long time but I haven't been married to him for 40-something years stressful time for you baby everything else you have a stressful thing you you're still not back in your flat which is destroyed by a flood yes it was thank you to the developers who have turned my building into a building site and hopefully we're going to go back but it's been nine months well I'm incredibly worried about this because you throw the best Christmas parties in that flat very wide as we ticked towards Christmas that there ain't gonna be one no there won't I'm sorry I don't before Christmas no we will be maybe about the 22 second it's going to take us ages to move in because we have all our furniture and all my clothes and all or Percy's clothes and every dishes everything in this other apartment that we had to move out of you know we are basically we were home we've been homeless nine months on a positive note Joe you look absolutely fabulous thank you I don't mind you saying that why do but how do you manage to maintain your fabulousness I mean that quite seriously every time I see you're positive you're upbeat you're glamorous what you know many people don't take that choice in life I just let life take them over what is the secret I think I was born with huge energy my mother used to call me miss perpetual motion I never keep still I don't I really annoys me when I see my self moving my foot I have a very positive approach to life I mean yesterday when I read all these headlines I just said I can't think about that like Scarlett O'Hara I'll think about that tomorrow I tried to push things aside and I also my parents brought me up to think that if I thought something was wrong with me think about that starving children in India or wherever it was at that time there's always loads and hundreds and millions of people worse off do you feel that we're living in a very / offended oversensitive era now god yes everybody's so critical of everything you can't do anything and then there's this bunch of I don't know certainly horrible people I think they must be who do nothing but right slaggy dreadful horrible things about anybody I mean even mother Teresa gets lagged off and I don't read it I would never Google myself and read I don't read comments you don't oh I'm on Twitter but I don't read can be a nasty place to be no mine's pretty good you talked about you know it's all relative when I feel like I'm getting some nasty stuff I just look at what peers gets and I think my god I'm really mean I love the trolls on twitter i like the daily battle before we get on to the million minutes again yeah there's one quick thing all this stuff at the moment about the sexual harassment thing you wrote a very good piece for the mail or thought of a very balanced piece really saying that you know in your experience in Hollywood this is this is nothing new not at all but not just Hollywood and it's it's politics it's certainly in fashion I mean I know so many models who were harassed by having to take off their clothes and have to be tweaked and pushed and pull and in every single part of their Anatomy and you know we did have in Hollywood there was the casting couch there was if you be nice to me you'll get the plum rolls at 20th Century Fox I was actually told that by the head of the studio Buddy Adler and I said do you really want me to do that I said I'm here with my agent why don't we go over and talk to him about it well we've got to have a quick break when they come back we have a great thing actually we have a guy who I think personifies what million minutes is all about going to be talking to him after break with
