joined by a true Hollywood legend this morning Dame Joan Collins has been in the entertainment industry for more than 60 years one highest-paid woman on television yes that was interesting I was and then when I went on for the first day they said oh because we're paying you so much we can't afford to have you in every episode yes so you're only going to be in ten episodes out of the 15 oh yeah and if you see the episodes Linda was men and because she had decided to leave yeah and so the show went quite far down and then they canceled at the end of the season they made you the highest-paid woman on television and then said but we can't afford now to show you on television yes that's exactly what they do so let me ask you about the this world we now live in where everyone's offended by absolutely everything and so on the thing that really got my goat last week was when there was a campaign to ban baby it's cold outside so because apparently it was you know it's about sexual harassment I mean I just thought it was so preposterous because that whole the whole scene in the movie is of mutual seduction process right yeah well what's that what's gonna happen to seduction is they're not going to be allowed anymore I mean is somebody gonna have to ask permission to the parents before they can kiss no it's absolutely becoming out of control and it seems to have happened in the last two years yeah just in the last two years and it seems to exacerbate it seems to get worse and worse I mean baby it's cold outside is one of the sweetest manners and gentle and kind and funny and tuneful everything and how dare they what's why I feel like how dare they exceed yours aren't you too Piers Morgan as worth gone no oh yeah yeah let's do it for you for Christmas oh yes please but it we can't joke about anything anymore that's the great that's the great thing I grew up going to variety theories because my father was an agent and he put on shows and so I saw comedians of all Elks of all nationalities making jokes about other nationalities and using you know these outrageous sort of metaphors more and you can't do that you can't say anything you can't say somebody has frizzy hair you can't say they're short the only thing you can do is you can make jokes about age he was banned from doing ageism jokes oh really well that's the last thing people I mean Aegeus jokes are not particularly welcome Monday no I think they're not welcome at all right but it seems to me that that's what people can do they can still do you know silly old git or whatever yeah try to say anything about anybody who's you know maybe a little bit overweight or not exactly taller and you get banned for life you are one scripted I am so is that going to be a lot of slightly unsavory joke no well first of all I'm on there with Percy so very very funny and he will save me from any any embarrassing things that might happen as they possibly could happen is it you a new and no it's um it's no no no it's between me and the audience yeah and there is a Q&A and but there's also lots of clips of all the people I've worked with other you know many stars that I've work with I don't wanna drop names but Richard it was the greatest star of them all oh you know I've said this before it was Paul Newman yeah he was the greatest star he was the nicest person he was the funniest he was the best cook and I was there when he was creating his Newman's Own salad dressing yeah I know and he gives every single thing to charity wealthy he doesn't know because he died I must admit I watched the other day butch Cassidy's I'm not skidding in which I love and Newman and Redford actually in that and the sting I don't think I've ever seen two more classical handsome movie stars at their peak the most guys no I mean I think George Clooney and Brad Pitt tried yeah when they're and they sort of got there with the oceans pictures but no those two were phenomenal they were so they were so brilliant is such a brilliant actors you know they were classically trained and they but they both had this enormous appeal and they were both well I don't know Redford I met him once he was much shorter than I thought and mostly on movie stars I really I know our old signing yeah III interviewed him once actually really liked him but I asked him about the Butch Cassidy nice you know the thing I hated that damn song very funny they just said his favorite movie he ever make is he loved working with thorny way frequently what do you make of this whole mega Markel thing with her dad I dunno I haven't really gotten into it I've been in America for most of the time I've been back a couple of weeks and frankly the Americans don't go into it very much then Omni interested she's one of them I know but they don't move every family has its problems right I'm certain he's had you you all certainly have yeah we'll see answer when you have a rift does somebody just need to basically yes I think so but I don't exactly know what happened why did it happen is it because he posed for some pictures yeah I think he I think he was doing a bit of stuff for the media but he was out of his depth know what he was doing yeah but he's a man in his seventies don't be out of your debt you know the depth if you're smoked 20s or 30s but he's in the business he should know a bit better do you think he let it out I don't know I don't know you know except it was that scarred did you get the car yeah nice worth by the way well it looks like something they put on one of those silver frames that they sell in Selfridges yes it does it's a very arty card both gonna die yeah see she will be greatly more splattering I love this thing the unscripted tours here and you're very cannibal in America no husband everything around you cannibal we're going to see as always you
