[Music] good afternoon our our family and really warm greetings from Glasgow form the three of us from Sam and Sarah Jane and myself and we are excited and delighted to be back with you for another session and other three sessions this week in our epic my week 11 episode 46 16th of June who would have thought and we're just honored that you give us your time and we feel privileged to be a part of your extended family and it's just so good to see all the familiar names they're greeting us as we warmly greet you all so the S morning yes we didn't come to you on Friday because we were doing filming and it's actually sad sorry you pulled an epic I think your feet burn at the end of it all I know was there was hours I think and they and I promised and them for about four hours and total filming so you've got lots of good content on the cerumen I was filming the skill of the sermon on Friday which was great fun actually but that was my feet were throbbing and bear that girl had a fairly I think beats and say done because all my feet for so long and I'm so used to sitting down preaching though because we're all pitching from war like I forgot I hope to stand and preach I'm like an ammo you've got standing there you know legs and partly because that chair was hurting my back so much that my gorgeous husband has bought me this sounding desk and it levers up and don't I see if I can leave her out and dine is that comforting you know I might not get up there maybe no you might lose your lights or something my life so yes very clever how was your weekends after filming Oh fabulous I had a fabulous weekend yes I went to a lovely friends she was very gorgeous and wonderful and she made me an afternoon tea which is very delightful and delectable I was expecting a scone and got multiple scones of different flavors and meringues and homemade sausage rolls and that delectable friend is Anna stark and it was it was so nice just to see you in the flesh it was good nice for Sophie and Jessica to catch up and obviously see the boys it was good to see the boys and then we all ate afternoon tea and then they would off for a cycle of football that name the girls stayed to chat so that was really really nice that was a highlight of a weekend I have to say it was lovely to see you as well and yes I we did digital is a full menu because we're not leaning into a cookery show we did a red apple and clove scones they are amazing and then once I make a treacle and cinnamon scones and yeah homemade sausage rolls although my 13 year old is like mummy I mean I like your sausage rolls I mean these are homemade sausage rolls he says I like the face thing he says they're not as good as Greg's I'm not oh are you they were much better than Greg's I have to say and I think when we come back together and maybe actually the filming on Friday Robin and you should have a bake off with sausage rolls because Robin does amazing sausage rolls Robin is one of our stuff hi Robin who does all our filming he is amazing I just have somebody else is saying Greg's you can't beat them Paul now I tell you what I'm going to have to feed you my sausage rolls and then you could do a proper a proper comparison there were two goods to go to what about you Stan what were you up to I'd like to remember I think I'm quite a child Oh a lot on Saturday I slept I slept and what just glorious I felt very teenager because I literally go and about 11 o'clock I mean three but I slowly got out of bed and then on on Monday yesterday all the Kachin got taken out so all day Saturday all day Sunday were watch cooking as much food as possible because we'll be 11 with just a microwave and one camping hob out in the garden for the next two weeks until then they're catching gets vetted so was doing that was WOW so I think is ebo up is it is it so survivor style with at the moment all the building stuffs in the back garden so we need to wait for a better space but overall we have a microwave and the fridge and that is it well Lydia cook I love your comment I got to have hugs for the first time in 3 months that you know who did the support bubbles for single she said I cried I think I would too Lydia well have virtual hugs from us even though I know it's not quite the same thing but thank goodness and there is some Gregg's is disgusting I with you are living far and not wink thorns treacle scones and just for clerical relaxant not cook on treatable how do we describe Treecko to non bring molasses molasses yeah it's bland fix their molasses very salty kind of firm chewy we use we use it for rolls it's like tar so that's what we use oh yeah it's like molasses I don't think it's exactly the same but it's similar yeah but I do think Emma come up with a recipe for to twinkle scones that sounds great really high I just misread your message but you actually finished decorating your nursery for baby number two I actually thought you said you finished making baby number two I would say what is she writing in the home but you finished nursery for baby number two excellent Wow somebody say somebody's saying that it's corn syrup and twinkle but no it called syrup is more like golden syrup we can't get corn syrup here because I've tried to because we had a great recipe once in Canada didn't we and that had lots of concert an ice cream cake thing I really liked but we couldn't find it but no yes you need molasses for treacle scones people and Jessica I just missed my eldest she missed her prom it was supposed to be on Friday and of course it was then canceled so earn a couple of friends did their social distancing dresses in the back garden and float around the back garden and it was it actually made me giggle because Sam was still in the house filming and all Jessica's friends were like hello he's so gorgeous so I said to Sam do you want to take the tray down to them so sound went dying to be their waiter to carry the strawberries that I'd cut up for them and they're like he's so gorgeous so just to totally humiliate you Sam all these little teenagers so brilliant oh my god I got a slightly different version of that story you know Sunday you told that slightly differently on Sunday but you did actually he did Aroldis I haven't seen anybody mail for months Seamus let's move on now shall we do something gloriously I'm spiritual my own I did announce to you or on whatever day we were last on and we were looking for people who would help us man miracle clinics particularly in the Australian kind of time zone and there were so many of you whoo right we want to be on the T we want to be trained so we have had to completely rethink and we are going to offer all of you if you want to minister all our teams are obviously remotely it means some of you might want to come to Glasgow but if you want to minister remotely with us releasing miracles in our Zuma online miracle clinics you can now all apply wherever you are in the world to be trained and join as a volunteer our miracle clinic teams that say yeah David has been squirreled away in his bat cave all weekend building the systems that we need as as has Nicola our head of personal ministry and I think from tomorrow I'll give you the like absolute double thumbs up when it's live but from tomorrow and there should be an application form online that David and Nicola have written together so it will be online but it's not live yet it's not like yet because they've had to build the whole system okay over we they've been really working hard and so there will be an application for and so that we know who you are and I think there's quite a bit of detail in that but you can understand why there's detail in that because of course we want to get to know you very well so there's detail in that and then Nicola and I and probably Nate Turner and a couple of others will train you in closed group probably zoom webinars in all we think about miracles so that your miracle muscles are rightly flexed in some bespoke training for you and so that you're all on the same page with us and then it'll go back into Nicholas hands who will make sure that you're in the right groups because we have we have hundreds of people applying for miracle appointments but actually just not enough team to deliver them internationally so David's been building the site that can cope with different and time zones he's been building the site to do all the application forms it's nearly there he's gonna run some tests on it so that when I give you there ya go for it it actually all works don't you love intelligent tank people so and so we just want you it is the new normal Sandra it really is probably from tomorrow that will all be live and we'll go through the process yes new miracle trained ready I will just have a lot of fun together doing that because I'm sure you want to do on work miracles signs and wonders our team who do already have seen amazing miracles in fact I might bring Nicola um to tell us the top three or four miracles might get her on - Otis shoot work tomorrow somewhere else she's part a nurse and part with us I get Nicola on at some point to give you the testimonies and so hold on to your hats we're nearly there we're nearly moments I know it is exciting Emma's really excited as part of that you can join the global prophetic alliance which is the name of our ministry you know us as maybe Glasgow prophetic center but if you want to join the family of global prophetic alliance you will be able to join that too and you'll get discount two conferences and just come into the shadow of our culture so lots of on rants being created yeah we've got an exciting and you know I just love it I just love because we love empowering me but I just love that you and I who have never met can actually form a bond that I can read your comments I get a sense of your personalities you get a sense of who we are probably a bit more but actually we can start to have such agreement in this spirit realm because we are part of the family of God that although I have not seen your faces that we are still you know a holy people a royal priesthood a generation together I can call you family and be completely accurate in that we'll be pretending in that actually we can develop that by opening doors of opportunity for ministry I love I love it some people saying we have met I know I have met some of you but thousands of you I haven't but and yes and that we can you know go the distance together not just to share this space but actually to impact lots of people's lives as well so yeah you for that know David is about to like the stream our title for the next and 45 minutes together and that is culture culture which is big heavy kind of thought but I think where I started with that is my goodness made have we understood levels of pain and levels of deep fatigue as we've watched this dismantling that's been happening in the nations and we know that God is largely in this shaking mode although we are obviously seeing the demonic hands trying to weave its way into that but we've been asking questions like well what should we do now and who should the church be and how should we know build and I really feel like the Lord is saying that's not the question that those are not the questions that the question is not what should we do or what do we do what do we do what we do what do we do now you know what do we do to be the church what is the new look like and and cuz they don't ask me about the doing ask what should we be asked what is our culture very different emphases and you know this phrase from and I think actually the guy who ran Ford Motor Company Darrell Ford said this culture eats strategy for breakfast culture eats strategy for breakfast in other words you can plan till your til the cows come home you can strategize all you you can have some great dream you can have some great destiny but your culture will destroy it if it's not right your culture will eat any strategy for breakfast and so I want to talk this afternoon with you about what is good culture and how do you create good culture because it doesn't listen to what I'm saying you can have a million brilliant ideas you can have a million brilliant plans for the future but even your inner culture will totally destroy your life plans you can have a destiny you can have a prophetic word you can have a call on your life you can have ideas of how you are going to be brilliant and we want you to be brilliant but your culture around you and your culture inside you can totally destroy everything that you thought you were going to be and so there is this moment that we need to pause and ask two questions is my inner culture destroying my future and what do I do about our corporate culture that wasn't doing the best job so no matter what we strategize our culture destroyed it no matter what vision day came to the church no matter how brilliant the leader tried to be with vision he could never quite get over the culture of for example passivity so we're going to talk about culture today that really is setting the framework up for us okay Sam do you want to jump in first mhm yeah totally I think it's so important that and when we're talking about culture as Emma says we first look at our own internal culture and then after that we can start to look at the external culture that as our own does the corporate culture that we see around us because really your internal culture well overflow and to other the other arenas you are n I think for us culture is not principles are do's and dont's or rules culture is defamed by defamed by values essentially what is your and what are your values deep deep deep down when you kind of push past all the surface stuff that's in your life what do you deep down value and people say often now I've heard you say before the culture your own personal culture ultimately is measured by your M policies culture is ultimately measured by your M policies the things that you do by impulse subconsciously without there being a thought process behind er because your culture creates your impulses your culture creates your subconscious actions the actions that you just do because you always do them and gotta sing right now and that's it so mr. this there's glorious place that I've got you and gotta sing it's time to work on your internal culture I'm shining a light on your internal culture I'm shining a light on what you really really really really really really value because God says there are some values yes I want you to keep but there are some values that I need to shift and I need to remove from you and I just felt like the Spirit of the Lord said there it's not necessarily but when I say this value needs to chef that it's wrong it's just wrong for there's no season that's new eater that you are now moving into and some values are seasonal values some cultures of our cultural our seasonal cultures and God is now saying I want to minister and change an alter your internal culture so that it can start to match what I'm doing in this season I want to update upgrade alter change adjust your values so that they can match your internal culture and goddess things start to ask me what do I really really really need to value at this time I need to deep down value at this time because culture is ultimately created by my values culture is created by what I really value and I even practically that you start to even less wet God by the spirit even the values that he wants to he wants to put into your life or upgrade or improve and your life because values produce your culture and I and not I felt like this better of the Lord said that that actually the the the thing that we need to deal with when it comes to developing good culture as compromise that compromise is the enemy of a good culture and that compromise has been the enemy of so many good cultures and our own personal lives but in the life of the church and God said these three sentences to me compromise car sees change compromise car sees connection and compromise car sees culture compromise car sees change compromise car sees connection and compromise car sees culture and all three of those things are 80s that God is saying our core to where I'm taking you as the people of God to I am changing a lot says the Lord I'm asking for an even deeper level of connection and I'm improving your culture and if you want to come to where I'm dragging you and all three of these areas we've got to quell compromise that has shadowed the church and shadowed us for many years and in place of compromise the Lord says ask for flexibility ask for flexibility because compromise is different from flexibility compromise is where you change your absolutes you change your no change areas you change your heart beliefs and response to what you see around you flexibility is the ability to air or the yeah the ability to have add something to see or something to do that helps a certain situation and so the Lord is saying look I want to kill your compromise and I want to kill that better of compromise that has shadowed the church so that and in place of that release to you flexibility where your able to make adjustments according to what I'm asking of you and I'm requiring of you you're not compromising according to what the world around you is asking of you and requiring of you and if you want good culture this better of the largest saying let me deal with your compromise once and for all and this is massive and we see that a across the world so let me just give you an example that we'll all know so when the world is talking about a changing of marriage and a changing of what a marriage is defined as between a man and a woman - between whatever it you know love is love that actually compromise as we're gonna change all our beliefs to accommodate what the world is saying we're gonna change all our practices to accommodate what the world is saying and we're gonna compromise on our core foundations flexibility as God gave me a language that is able to speak into that arena without compromising and changing the fundamentals of my faith the fundamentals of the church the fundamentals of what you've asked because I recognized that my language may not be effective but get me a language that is able to be effective give me a response that is able to be a flight reflective in that sort of situation so God deal with my compromise so the night of good culture yes we just need to create yet yeah could you pray for that fun because I think you're hitting it like right in the face with that big sucker punch of the Holy Spirit you know that sense that we are we are changing but I've got to be flexible before God but I must not compromise on the values that are dear to me I must not compromise on extravagant giving I must not because society changes and finances shake I must not compromise on extravagant giving I must not compromise you know on a roundish worship that I pour out of myself I must not compromise on truth I must not premised on loving one another I must not compromise you know on honoring each other but I have to be flexible and we know that we've all come in compromised by our money we've compromised about our generosity we've compromised in our love for one another we've caught me compromise you know even though we say we love Jesus and we do love Jesus there is a little slice of our lives that we know is compromised that really then makes our culture less robust because we'll just roll over if it doesn't suit us you know and so there is this sense of I won't just stand and I want to hold fast the values you see if I went into Spain hi my Spanish friends on there what my dad used to put my minister in Spain and live there so he lost his Spanish people on if I turn up in Spain and I say you know I really feel like we need to end the siesta the afternoon you know shut down the afternoons sleep you know they would be like no we're gonna stone you we're never gonna you know they hold it so dearly if I turned up in America and I said to the Americans hi Americans if I said really I think the fourth of July needs to shift I don't think it's quite on the right date you know I would get this like what are you talking about you fool you know because actually there aren't there's no compromise that the 4th of July is the 4th of July there's no compromise that you have an afternoon siesta in Spain you know and so there has got to be that sense in me I will not compromise on the things that matter to the core of our belief system you know and that's not just Jesus being the Son of God which is fundamentally you know a you know anchored but actually we compromise on some things I just around the edges and once you start that your culture becomes too soft it becomes you know something that you can to easily discard and you know so all we have to say I'm a compromise Christian and I have a great book on my bookshelf who knows because as you know enough by now I've not got the mathematical and somewhere somewhere behind me in the hundreds it is a book titled the beauty of intolerance the beauty of intolerance it is a fascinating book by a great scholar David I don't know whether you can you know fly in our faces Chris tear knows where it is but the beauty of intolerance and really God oh oh here he comes here he comes II know G he knows my bookcase better than I do by well by someone McDowell is Josh McDowell so it's Josh McDowell and his son actually so in other words it's a scholarly well thought through book by a senior guy the beauty of in touch yeah Josh and Sean McDonald UT of intolerance you see that one OCD but no so they are and but it's setting a generation free to know love and truth and really is that sense that M we have got to know that there are some things is not an amazing title the beauty of intolerance that we have got to know that there are some things we will not ever compromise on and as much as there's grace and as much as there's love we are saying I'm being a you know particularly particularly I feel like over money over generosity of spirit and over honor and love those kind of things we must not you know I know I know it's almost there's an Irish flag coming up there it's not quite no surrender but which is a whole different thought processes but the beauty of intolerance son can you just pray and for us around that total yeah so good I mean hey I think as you say Emma I suppose no compromise areas I'm just you know for us at GPC as a corporate culture one of the no compromise areas is worship and and the need to worship all the time and so for us even when Emma our David our sailor Jana's in present and a meeting even if as an admin meeting the no-compromise of that worship culture says we must worship before we have a discussion we must do this because of the level of no compromise and as those idiots but we've got to repent God I'm sorry for compromising so just you know repeat after me we've all compromised it's not you know kind of a handful of us and we've all been there and compromised on culture that God has said do not shift on so repeat after me Father gods and the name of Jesus father God in the name of Jesus I am sorry for where I have compromised I'm sorry for where I have compromised when you have called me to stand firm when you have called me to stand firm when I have changed values when I have changed values you have not asked me to change that you have not asked me to change I am sorry God for partnering with compromise I am sorry God for partnering with compromise and I asked for your forgiveness for this and I asked for your forgiveness in Jesus name in Jesus name so in the name of Jesus I just speak to that shadow that cloud of compromise that has come over you your decision-making that has come over you and your values that has come over you and your cultures and I just released the wind of the Spirit to blow that compromise away and bless you to be one who stands fully firm with both feet and the values that God is putting on the inside of you that you will be a no compromise question that you'll be a no compromise believer that you will know with surety the areas where God is saying you cannot compromise on this the values that you cannot see and that you cannot compromise on that you will stand firm and the name of Jesus and I believe with a courage to resist compromising I'm Alicia with courage to resist compromising that even when the around you is trying to force compromise to come you will have the ability to turn away and to stand with both feet and your values and your culture and not shift is step not move a step and Jesus mating him and right now I just blessed a clarity of hearing that as you go from even SM that's power our you will be able to hear from God's the values that he's putting on you that you are not to compromise on and that you will even have a word of the Lord that says to you this is your values these are your values these are core to who you are do not compromise I bless you in that journey in Jesus mighty name he may do you know I actually just flip the book open and I love to write him books cuz they're like friends you know and he just underlined and obviously when I read it before he's quoting from one of the Barna reports and a statistic that has remained flat since 1995 so we're talking about a long-standing statistic in the church and it says that fewer than 32% of Christians believe in absolute truth or universal truth that is absolutely shocking that that less than a third of Christians believe there's absolute truth Jesus is absolutely universally unshakably the Son of God you know that Jesus died in a cross that Jesus is coming back again that actually fewer than 32 percent of Christians believe in this concept of absolute isn't that absolutely shocking and 9 percent of Christian teenagers believe in an absolute or a universal truth you know and it is Eleanor Rosch you're right it is absolutely frightening stats that he says hibari he says this statistic has remained flat for decades and that whole sense that we have lost this the that we have lost the sense of there are some things we will just not compromise and Lauren is shocking Clarissa God of mercy on us okay I felt I know he got some stuff in the notes and I just felt to illustrate the point rather than me going on to teaching what's in front of me I wanted to tell quite a personal story to illustrate the concept of culture and Sarah Jane can you help me out here because we walk this together and and you'll see from Serge's facial expression when I say when we planted our first church and should we offer our head in our hands I know it was awful anyway so um before we did we love we love everybody she was part of that it was just yeah all of what you will now hear I'm glad I was a part of her that thing before you joined us oh it was awful and I think David and I came very reluctantly to and to church planting I mean I think that's the reality of it and in my heart there was this sense of where you want everybody to be free when you're pushy do you that that still remains the case and but I think we were a little bit light on some of the boundaries and some of the cultures that we wanted you know to have as our non-negotiables and we have this prophetic word from actually as senior international prophet Davis probably goes head in his hands right now and the prophetic words said this and Satan will send you the first 200 members of your church and God will send you the second 100 I mean it's not horrific word I remember going no no you need to you go back to God like Moses and you negotiate and you changed those numbers and he said knows God has said that Satan is allowed to send you the first 200 members of your new church well that was probably almost what happened and it was David and I were working a list of the event the numbers like Jesus please is awful can we get to be a hundred brilliant kadokura cohesive Commission and some of those you know in and with this for years so we do we do love a lot of you but there was a lot of there was a lot of nonsense and I mean I would leave the church building and go oh Jesus do we have to keep doing this this is horrendous you know why I'm I'm not surviving here I'm not thriving here you know and we we came to a point where I think I have a different person every second day for three weeks ring me up to tell me they were going to kill themselves and and you know it got that point of like what are we like you know because we don't of course it wasn't out that was an absolute nightmare because you don't want anyone to die but in three weeks you know I'd like 20 people it was like oh my goodness me you know to the point David is so mild-mannered my husband to the point where somebody turned up to kill themselves in our church building I think it was Easter Sunday morning with a whole load of tablets and David said to them you are not allowed to kill yourself in my church building with my children here if you want to kill yourself you go onto the street and you do outside my church building and of course I'm like oh we've really hit rock bottom if David is saying that but actually the miracle of that was the person said oh okay I'll I'll not kill myself in church this morning and went and took her seat so and you know there was a there was a win to that one and but the funniest story if I can is the offering story if this is appropriate I hope this is appropriate to tell if it's not appropriate David you better be typing in the comments mighty fast he's not taking me off it's okay so um we had a man who is really very demonized and I don't mind that at all and actually he got really really free during the service and he was wildly demonically manifesting fine were actually very good at dealing with that but then he was really cross that he'd had a demon so he lay in the middle of the aisle just in a bad temper and he's hammering the floor in a bad temper you know because he was really crossed that it had a demon and I say to Damon I think you better go and deal with that and I turn around and David is sitting on the middle of this man's back and this man is going up and down and I'm like what are you doing David and David has got one hand in the air and I'm like what why is why is David got one hand in there and David on an app this is the tech genius ears on the app on his mobile phone is changing the lyrics on the screen for our worship while sitting in the middle of this man's back jumping up and down and up and I'm and I just thought oh no you know nobody is my worshipping everybody is watching David change some words and watching this guy hammered the floor so ho and I stop and I say well well we'll just stop because clearly there's a bit of chaos in the middle of the meeting we will take the offering and I'm thinking on this spot and I give the up the children or the offering but but buckets children why don't you collect the offering this morning and Dave is going no no no because of course the children are not having to jump over this flailing man who's punching and kicking out and the two little children in the a rodeo style the children with the offering buckets are navigating his flailing limbs and I'm like oh my goodness me so David grabs the man by the feet and just puppy must have got a carpet burn I hope he didn't and just drags him out of the building but we're also shape we're all so shaken that when the offering buckets come forward with all the children the microphone for some reason I put my son's wife who was very little at that point and my son my littlest samuel said into the microphone very lightly mommy ture people did not give into the offering this morning which point there's just like absolutely atmosphere there's no holy spirit left so into the microphone I say jokingly well you better go and ask them again thinking that sarcasm might be appreciated but clearly not he's a child he divides the children into two groups and he sends them to stand at the two people who haven't given until they give so I mean that it was Sarah Jane do you want to tell your most hilarious story before I talk a little gosh well fortunately for that morning I wasn't here and I wasn't at church that morning I don't know where I was maybe on holiday or something and it was just you and David you and David were the leadership team the preaching the teaching and I think the ministry team all by ourselves it must have been in the summer holidays and but I just I mean I think I've blotted it out of it because it was so hard it was it was very difficult and I think because we we had a very strong culture in our hearts and in our heads of no compromise for Jesus when we had an invasion really is probably the right word of so many people country and countercultural to us it was just so difficult to have to move in the place that we wanted to move to move the room in agreement because there were so many people with mental illness so many people and I mean every you know everybody has times of mental illness and you know had depression myself for a time is you know after my my birth of my daughter it is not something that we have a problem with but we do have a problem with it I think when it's over half of your congregation and you cannot get agreement and you cannot move and I just remember feeling I just remember feeling I think after the excitement of a starting Kingson company of the excitement of starting a church because Emma you remember we spent months and years talking about and praying about starting church together meeting each other's homes as leaders and families knowing that this was part of our call and then when it came to it it was actually the excitement of the initial few weeks then moved into this is a fight this is a disappointment this is not what we signed up for this is not what we imagined it would be and horribly didn't have I mean we had a team who who were you know who were solid who who loved Jesus and leadership team but it was just I think the sheer numbers of people that came from outside who didn't share our culture that made it so difficult it was almost like we were in a boat with the rudder but they all they all overturned the boat I mean it was it was horrible and I think the straw that broke the camel's back that there is a Redemption to this I am going to get there before the end of the arc but then the straw that broke the camel's back was a dear lady actually a really lovely lady who had some mental health issues and she came to the front and she said to me I want you to pray for her sure sure I'll pray for you she said she says you know what's going she said to me I've got a demonic prong up my nose pyaare aw end like the shellfish like a longest theme and I'm thinking what what so I should have said you know I should have had a different conversation and helped her a bit better than I did but I just thought I'll just pray for it to go away and I heard myself say in the name of Jesus I speak to the demonic prong the demonic shellfish the de monterrey market scene and I tell it to go in Jesus name and I'm thinking what am i what am i doing you know at that point I emailed my my mentor dr. Sharon Stone and I said oh you know I had a bit of a week and she emailed me this back and this is this is this is the point she said this Emma are you leading those people or are they leading you what a punch and I said dr. Sherin they are leading me and she said that is the case with most of the churches that most people have decided that they will not be led that they want their of they wanted their own way and when you have lost the rudder of leadership the only thing left to you is shut the church down and I'm like Sharon that so extreme she said are they leading you Emma or are you leading them and she said you have lost it and therefore you must shut it down and so David and I shut that church tight it was it was excruciating ly painful because you feel like you are letting dying people you feel like you brought them together only to scatter them again it was just a heartbreaking painful set of decisions that we had to take but what why i-tech while I tell you those horror stories there is that when we replanted we have the happiest Church I have ever been to not I mean genuinely there people love being part of our church and when we replanted we replanted with a different understanding and the understanding is this that there must be a decision that leaders make to lead and to set a cultural tone and my concern of what I am watching in the nations right now and just let me say the word nations let me not pick on any one nation because I really don't want to get into a lot of trouble with it is that we are seeing significant leadership voids we are seeing significant leadership voids in denominations in churches in businesses we are seeing that the platform of leadership is empty from the statesmen like people who can actually shape a culture they can start to you know say well one day we'll do this or one day we'll do this as a nation or one day we'll do this but actually they have got to lead here and know there must be a leadership that says this is our culture this is our values this is our shape here and nine okay and so I want to pray for you because if we do not feel that leadership void you will have in the nation's you are having your churches exactly what I had where there is this sense of whatever feels right to everybody else happens and there is no sense of agreed shared value there is no sense of a battle planting out of the places were stuck in there's no sense you know and of the fact that there's hope for the people we have got to have good leadership we have got to contend over our own lives God you go put a leadership Mantlo me I might be reluctant you know I might be terrified because I was a reluctant church leader there's no way around that but actually we have got to say come on that I'm gonna wear a leadership mantle whether it costs me everything I'm going to pray for leadership Mantle's in politics I'm gonna pray for leadership councils and denominations I'm gonna pray for leadership Mantle's in my church structure because if I do not have statesmen like cultural owning cultural shaking leadership you will have what I had which is absolute and utter chaos plumb lines of leadership that set a standard so in the name of Jesus as you sit and watch me right now and I need to finish the story and we may be come back to other thoughts and culture tomorrow because I want you to hear hi it resolved fully but in the name of Jesus I list you leadership Manzo's come on some of you to say that's mine some of you say I'm gonna take it because I'm not just gonna be one who follows but I'm gonna fill the leadership gap come on some of you even who are already in leadership will know that you have thrown off your leadership mantle and put on a mantle of negotiation and we say no Nana no it is not a time for negotiation it is a time for righteous leadership that says this is the way to walk and it is a time for the leaders to arise and so I say over you leaders arise leaders arise leaders arise and bless the nations can you pray that ight sarah-jane particularly even in the nations mm-hmm yeah I've just been mulling that over with with the Lord this is a culture of no compromise that isn't just about local church context and yes it out works and that as M has been sharing the story but actually it's about a culture that is of a no compromise kingdom and no compromise Heaven culture coming down that we are part of advancing to bring a shape to Nations this is about what we agree with what we model what our hearts connect with what our spirits exemplify what our lives say and what the sound is if you will of our lives and comes out of our mouth that shapes nations and so this is a this is a big thought that comes in a small package it comes in individual saying I will have no compromise to release the culture of the kingdom of God to release the culture of heaven whatever that looks like and as leaders in that there has been a lie about what peace looks like what what peace looks like the compromise and the resetting and I see that kind of the dullness of it so we just we just take off the blinkers thus I was praying about before particularly for leaders we take off the blinkers of compromise we take off the blinkers of false peacemaking and we now let that brightness of the shining of Holy Spirit come to our eyes to see and perceive the culture of the kingdom in all its glory in all its fullness and all its sound and its light and we say let that hit you People of God so whether you're in it in a title to vision of leadership or not you are a leader you are an influencer of the kingdom you wear the colours of the kingdom of God and his culture and I just rip off you all those other false Mantle's if you will that the world has put on all those things that have caused you to come heavy under the weight of the care the culture of this world and even this church culture that we that we all live in in the nations right now and we step into where the the mantle of the leadership the Manta on the cultural leadership of heaven and the kingdom of God to bring a transformation two nations in their City and if you're at home right now just to begin to to pray in tongues a little bit just begin to receive that a little and just connect with the Spirit of God because it's coming over you I'm aware of it the mantle of the nation's of leading nations of the sound of of shaping nations we just loose that to you by the impartation through the spirit but also from heaven right now what is coming to you individually for your part so there's like this caught what I'm seeing is a corporate mantle Emma over the Church of a leadership and a shaping of Nations and then individual Mantle's that are very specific and bespoke to you individually that you will wear that and that enable you to live out Kingdom culture and heavens culture where you are so we lish you into the fullness of that we release you into the fullness of that and for some of you that that kind of solidity of the kingdom that is in you it's like a key it is like the the cutter cuts on a key you fit for some of you you feel like I don't fit and the Lord says you fit you fit my culture you fit my kingdom but you don't fit compromise you don't fit Church if you will local church culture you fit Kingdom culture and some of you are going to have to move to create a space to to release that culture to create it in business to create it in the arts to create it in education wherever God has placed you there is a kingdom culture now to grab ahold of as God brings you into this and leadership and shaping of nation's mantle this is a new day for you church this is a new day for you family this is like a big shift in the spirit I'm watching it happen right now thank you God so good I mean we will absolutely come back because I've got this theme tomorrow for part two but I want to finish the story of our church planting because I think it illustrates how we how we navigate culture so when we planted our second church hallelujah Jesus we weren't sitting on some of those crazy prophetic words about Satan sending us church members but I decided that I was going to agree a culture with my leaders and that we were going to be no compromise around those things and one of those was peculiarly that we were going to have no ministry team and you're like oh how could that be why I think I got fed up in watching probably in my late 20s at living in Glasgow the kind of elite arrogance of the concept of ministry teams in a church now we totally understand that there needs to be some specialities and trained specialities but there was this sense of what I am I am in the ministry team maybe it was just the church I was a part of if it's not in your church please give me grace but you know the church we used to attend you know I am in the ministry team and therefore I have got a double portion of something you don't have and you need to come to me and I will fix your problems up and you know and I thought hang on a minute here there's as much Jesus in you as there is in me and I'm I'm not going to create this this two-tiered or this tiered you know sense of who's a better Christian and I think that must be absolutely fundamental in the culture that there is space for all and so I started teaching on you know there's no such thing as a disposable Christian and washing with the sense that there's no such thing as a disco of a person a disposable Christian a disposable family membrane and so we scrapped all of that and I started to build a culture where every night it is taken years but every single service that we have a corporate time together I will say turn to your neighbor and and what I'm saying is you are all the ministry team there is Jesus in all of you and my responsibility is that you see each other that you minister to each other that I skill everybody up not just one or two now there clearly there are areas of expertise and we do that Monday to Friday but not in the sunday family gathering in a family gathering where family in a family gathering we are not elitist in a family gathering we are not saying I'm better than you now you may come to an expert Monday to Friday within the church building who's highly trained but in family time we are jolly well being family together and so I would say you know turn lined and say to your neighbor and if you're on and you go to my church you know type and share how that's been for you but that sense of you know to the children so turning to heal their sickness we do that loans my expectation is but the youngest child in my church is is able to heal as the oldest and should have exactly identical skills in doing it be healed in Jesus name how hard can that be that actually we start to turn away say kick their demonite we do loads of mass deliverance as a corporate body loads of mass deliverance you know that there is this this sense of again my children and those who are young in the faith you know in that family atmosphere are in a safe place to cast like a demon turn to your neighbor wipe the slime off the weak awesome turn to your neighbor it gives them a holy kiss turn to your neighbor I do this one a lot and tell them they're absolutely beautiful so that if nobody has spoken positively over that person that week before we have even entered worship loads of my Sunday mornings I like this turn to your neighbor and say you're looking the most beautiful I've ever seen you we do it a lot don't we your look ravishing today I think you look so attractive today and you see particularly the teenagers go oh no you know and you actually you to see the lonely go oh my goodness and they get to have somebody turn to pretend you are really beautiful today you know and those things that we do that build a culture of love and acceptance and a culture where I am saying do not dare think that I am the person with your solutions and we have recognized an entire church on mass because of that approach okay and that's just one of the things and what I say to my leaders is this you must sit with me you must sit around me in the front row no you got to hear me it's not a bike being elite at all but you must sit with me why must you sit with me because I know we agree about the culture and so when we agree about the culture it's it's not like one agrees wasn't doesn't agree one the green one doesn't agree you know and therefore it's hard to steward we we sit around each other so that there is a rate of agreement for example that we're going to extravagantly worship there's a weight of agreement that whenever we minister to each other we got up and we just do it and we don't go oh do I have to you know like a teenager so so I keep my leaders near me for the sake of the await of the agreement that they bring into the room and we shape the culture like that and therefore if you are I don't want to minister to somebody or I don't want to worship extravagantly you are the odd one I in my church did you hear that if you don't want to worship extravagantly if you don't want to minister generously if you don't want to pour yourself right before God you are the old one right in my church because the leadership have agreed that that is the culture and we invite people into it again and again come to the front and worship you know move out of your seat do you know what else I get Owen and we're after time I'm getting excited we'll have to come back to do you know I often get them to do before they worship some what do we get them to do swim or jump up and down or move or something like that I said can you practice your best swimming stroke before worship I mean and they're all like oh here we go again I've done it with hundreds of people and they all practice it's not family that's granny breaststroke that with your head they're practicing I can't even do it you see now I might ever seat it's like you know I can do it you know they know they cover it why because I'm training them in movement in worship we're gonna swim into the deep waters we're gonna suite what we don't want to just do that Holy Ghost two-step you know like like some churches do out where you only move your feet who just wants to move their feet and worship I mean come on we want to swim into the deep waters and that is what I mean by a resetting of culture that is what I mean by us saying we will not compromise on the things that matter but we will hold a culture that of who God is together I hope that's given you some ideas and this morning I hope that has helped you think around issues of Church culture and what it needs to be and high it needs to be set and we will come back and sorry we're over time but we will come back to this tomorrow because and there's so many issues around culture and how you shape it that we want you to be on board with but I want tomorrow let me give you a sweetener to deal with the things internally that that make you bring destruction to your own future that we will definitely be dealing with tomorrow okay so we bless you send you on a wrap-up and prayer yes a father right now we just hear the call to be a people of no compromise to be a people who bailed what you want to bailed not what the world around us is telling us to bailed to be our people who heed your voice and followed your voice and bring a god culture into the air not a human culture not a me culture not a vain culture a God kingdom culture and in Jesus name we just say yes God we're choosing to be obedient to you and not compromise on a single thing that you're telling us and I bless you as you go from this live stream to have a good discussion with the Spirit of God around your no-compromise areas so that as you start to build you start to build a god culture and you and out of you in Jesus mighty name and that you have rest and that you have joy this day I bless you in Jesus name Amen and see you tomorrow amen bye [Music]
