hi again this is Anson Garcia with Verizon tier 2 UCC engineering and I'm going to go over a quick demo on how to configure cisco unified communication integration for Microsoft Lync or most of us call it cookie Lake so I found the documentation to be a little ambiguous a little hard to follow so I created this short video um to kind of lead you through the big items so by no means is this comprehensive I already assume that you know CCM and Lync and you've got some things already configured before you get to this point so let's get started the environment I'm working with a Lync 2010 environment working with Verizon you cast this also can work with an on-prem CCM and and sis community connection I have CCM 80 integrated and authentication turned up I have an ad integrated DNS as well my clients consist of Windows 7 Lync 2010 client and cookie link 8.6 dot 2 from cisco ok the first thing we want to do is make sure that we download two files so let me see I think I have that up here gosh I don't I'm going to go to it real quick let's go calm here we're going to go to support let me log in real quick here and download I'm just going to type a link there well it came up and then it went away on me here do that again there it is okay we want these two files the cookie link admin files although those are the registry settings and the administrator templates for GPOs I'll show you that in a minute the group policies we can deploy with Active Directory and in the cookie link install files that's the actual cookie link application client itself okay so those are two things you need okay link we're going to create user disable audio and optional create a conference policy okay let me show you how to do that real quick sure you guys know how to do this but I'll go through it very very quickly okay let me take a look at my users here we find users and you can see that I created the user here and my audio video is disabled okay so we definitely want that let's take a look at my conferencing I just created a policy here here it is right here let me go to it and what I did is I just turn everything off recording our new video data collaboration this is just - this is optional you don't have to do this but it makes things a little bit less confusing for the user to turn these options off because if using WebEx like in you kaz then you kind of have two ways to do things anyway there's a I think it's a good good practice to do it if your customer allows you to do it okay and then over here my user you can see that I applied that policy this conferencing policy alright that's it for that and let's go on ok call manager enable LDAP sync enable LDAP authentication okay let's take a look a quick look at that again I assume that you guys know how to do this stuff so but I will go to the screen so you can see the actual screenshots if you're having trouble or something like that you can stop the video and this might help you out so here my screenshots here's my LDAP Active Directory Integration right or LDAP integration and then I also have LDAP authentication so we're both are integrating with the Active Directory or the LDAP directory and pulling those users in and then we're also users at authenticating to communication manager our proxy and sent to the LDAP server the Active Directory server to get authenticated ok so that's that and then we create CSF devices all right let's see what a CSF device looks like ok let's go to devices here or phones let's do a find and here's bill Turner we're going to be messing around with him and here's the CSF device ok I'll scroll through this just so you can see it he's got a phone as well that he has call control over we have CTI that's important if you keep going down here so you can see everything got video calling enable that's for if you have a Cisco video camera that or if you have a phone that doesn't have a camera and you're going to use the CTV or CBT advantage I think it's called CBT here's my DN let me go down here important also down here is we have the users associated with the line that got right there ok and then the next thing I'm going to show you the user management so let's look at the end user let's look at Bill right here and I just want to show you that that CSF client and his actual hard phone or both associated with his user ID ok another important item as well let me see down here this is important right here this primary extension this is important to allow control device and another thing that's important is make sure that you have these groups assigned to the user okay at user associate okay I went over that at the proper roles I went over that okay let's see what we have to do in AD so create a new GPO import cookie link administrative template configure in the registry keys okay let's go through a couple those things are that let's create a new GPO the way you can create a new GPO is you go into your group policy management you'll find that obviously you Microsoft guys will know this already but it's going to be right here ok once you're in there we go to group policy objects and win and create a new group policy I already created one here for my cookie leg guys but I show you how to create one just right let's play canoe and then you name it you know whatever link whatever you want to write and then you have a new group policy right there and then you can create you can edit it now this is a fresh policy and what you would do is edit ok and then the way cookie link gets its registry keys if you're going to push it down from a GPO from Active Directory you got to go to policies under here administrative templates right mouse click add/remove template and this is where you're going to show you here this will make sense in just a sub just a second share remember I told you there's two files to download let's go cookie mock and this admin remember there was two files to download admin and install the install actually had the client the admin has the administrator templates in the registry settings if you're going to do it man annually or if you're going to push it down with a GPO I like pushing it down down on GPO much easier you probably want to do that in a large enterprise as well so I go in config and they're my two group policies okay I'm going to pull both of those in control click the the client admin date well I'll go and bring those in and then we're close and then those policies are there get a little error messages because one of the text fields is is long I don't know why Cisco did that but now if we go to administrative templates come down here to classic open that up and I see I have two new I've added to these two administration templates now this one right here that's one of them and that's kind of how the we're going to push down things for the client itself the cookie link client how they're how it's going to behave if you wanted to auto login if you want to remember the user name things like that and then this thing we're all familiar with if your Cisco guy right you're going to be familiar with ok my TFTP server what's that going to be my CTI server my voicemail systems all these things are going to have to fill out ok let me take me and let you take a look at what it looks like in mine and I Harvey I already have created edit that come down to policies administrative templates classic and there is my - looks like I have remember me enabled I have auto log-in not enabled I'll show you I'll show you that in a minute because mine doesn't auto log-in now I can't make it login or auto log-in by changing that and then there's my TFTP server right there's my call manager DNS name and then my CTI servers my call manager a DNS name as well ok and then I have a voice mail stuff on my voice mail pilot and so on so forth there's not much you have to configure to get it up get the system up and work and get cookie link up and working but you got to know where these things are you got to go through them and and make sure that you get most of the stuff configure here there's off also your Active Directory you know what your going to be your search Bay search base and things like that when you're searching inside the cookie lake so let's see anything else here video settings if you want to enable video and that is about it I'm going to come back to that here in just a second okay let me see what's next install okay we link the GPO okay the way I like to do it there's several ways to do this but what I do is I just add the people that are going that this GPO is going to affect I add it right here and then I also add the GPO itself up in the domain okay so that GPO right here if I come up here you can see that I I linked that GPO that group policy up to do it so it is going to carry on throughout the domain whatever oh use I have five users in several users or whatever but also in my GPO itself I only apply I'm only applying to several users these two users if I - cookie link users that's why you see them there so there's all kind of ways if your Microsoft guy you understand this if your Cisco guy read up play with this a little bit then you understand all we're doing is creating a group policy attaching a to Active Directory and then and then you know through some wizardry here pushing down some registry settings configuration data to the desktops so cookie link can get this configuration data the cookie link doesn't have you know you can't go into cookie link and say here's my call manager here's my voice mail server here's the IP address and all that stuff it's all through Active Directory registry settings and things like that okay what's next I manually update the GPO and okay install could you link on a PC okay you can manually go install cookie link write that the way we do that is that other file I remember there was two files I said one of them was the admin and one of them was the install there's the install I go in here there it is right there there's the application there's the MSI I'll talk about this a massage next ok install on that then you would manually update the GPO so it's a good good practice to if you're testing with this thing and things don't look right or you're not getting getting the configuration data down again if your Microsoft guy you know this GPO or gpupdate is how you pull that data down from the Active Directory pull that GPO down manually force it to come down okay I think there's actually a switch also to a forward slash force I think you can do this also to make sure it comes down okay that's going to bring this this GPO and that that template that I created and all this configuration settings going to bring it down to my to my PC down here ok to buy Windows 7 PC ok so we installed the application we did that what's next manual update test and then tweak GPO so if things don't work right you go tweak the GPO see if you did anything wrong go into the GPO edit it go into policies and then go through and make sure you know maybe you have your CTI servers wrong or something like that so go make sure tweak it and make sure you get everything right then you're going to test tweak and then optionally definitely if you're a large enterprise you're going to want to deploy the cookie link automatically to your pcs the way you do that or one way you can do that is with group policies as well let's take a look at how to do that with a GPO I have my same GPO here okay if I go to software let me open this up again okay is my GPO I'm going to edit I'm going to bring that up here we're going to go to policies or is it preferences now I forgot okay we're going to go to policies and software settings and under software settings you can do a rat mouse click or excuse me under software settings you'll have the software installation here and you can right mouse click and do new package alright that's my package is already in there but all you would do is package and then you go look for that MSI I talked about a little while ago that we downloaded from Cisco okay we show you how what it looks like cookie Mach and then the install 862 install there it is right there go right in there in there and you're going to see that package there it is right there okay you click open all right I already have my package here all right so now this GPO is not only going to push down my registry settings or the settings for cookie Mach it's also going to install a cookie Mach on these desktops alright so that's how you do that all right let's go on client install cookie link client on PC manually update GPO MVC tweak GPO I think I already went through that but maybe I had a oh I just wanted to go over the client itself but I already did so um test tweak GPO and I tell you what that is about all you need to do now again I didn't cover everything but that's the big tasks and let's take a look at what it looks like here's cookie link right here and we can see I'll go ahead and log out sign out sign in and you can see remember I didn't have that auto log-in in the GPO push down and sign in there we can also see if we go to regedit I'll show you where these GPOs get pushed out to H key current user software policies Cisco Systems Inc client server framework admin data and there's all my group policies right there ok those were all pushed down alrighty and that's it there's also if you you can you can you can install the registry entries straight on the desktop PC um and they actually show up somewhere else I forget where they're at I think they're here but if you do a group policy and push you down from active directory they're actually down here and they will override whenever registry settings you have up here so just FYI on that that's it thanks and thanks for listening
