i wanna thank you god for giving me y'all make me great [Music] so [Music] [Applause] all right in this video we're going to tackle that dash there in the last episode of the camaro we painted the wheels that's why the wheels ain't on but we're gonna tackle this dash here you can see it's cracked up so we're gonna take it out take it on inside and see what we can do with it [Music] removing this dash pad is pretty simple it has two phillips head on each side so that'll be four total at the top then at this bottom six seven millimeters three on each side then the dash pad it should just come straight up after you remove them there you have it i got the dash pad here as you can see it's really cracked up in a lot of errors also the speaker grills they cracked up as well so i was thinking about just making my own speaker grills like this missha coming up with something with the rattle with the wood here so i can just sit down up in here then fiberglass right on top of it like i did the c10 dash also it's missing one of the defrost vents that go on the side here it's missing this one on this side so i don't want to cover them up i think i'm just going to leave them open and go to the yard and try to find another one to go on this side but before i even touch the dash i'm gonna come up with these speaker grids to come up with something i haven't decided exactly how i'm gonna do it but it's the only piece i got so i'm just gonna cut it in half and use one on this side and one on the other side it should be enough for me so let me cut this and then uh go from there speak and miss out cut it in half it's not quite half but that'll be enough i also cut me two pieces of cardboard out i'm gonna use this to get my shape what i'm looking for once i get it then i cut it out on my mdf and i decided i'm gonna go with this quarter inch instead of this sticker piece i use this on the c10 dash i think it'll look better with this quarter inch kind of song so let me come up with the shape i wanted once i come up with it i catch it back on that's what i came up with i don't know if you can get the picture but i kind of made the same exact shape somewhat of this one let me cut the middle part out then probably tell a little bit more all right there you have it and i'm just gonna flip it over and transfer my template to this piece of cardboard then i add the other side just going to trace that out then i have the other side both pieces cut out now now i got my template i can use that to cut my wood out with the speaking mix it's going to be sitting and i'm gonna press it in so it had a 3d look so let me transfer everything over to my wood let me mark this so i can know what's right and what's left this the top left that's the top right now i'm just going to take my pencil pen and just trace around the inside of it because that's what i'm be cutting out with the jig saw so let me take care of that transfer everything over to the wood top left top right and i'm gonna be cutting this inside out and i'm gonna need this metal piece because i'm gonna use that to press my speaker mesh so you don't want to drill no holes for no pile of hole that's why i'm going to use my drummer so i can get a straight cut i'm going to start it off then i'm going to have to cut it on off with the jig so let me cut my straight cuts first i got my plunge cuts cut out i burnt the wood because before i know that i was cutting with a glass and a ceramic blade but oh well i gotta cut now i take my jigsaw and i connect everything together got the middle pieces cut out like i said before me use this to press my mesh inside of here so it'll be kind of 3d 3d look but before i do that i'm gonna have to put an edge on this part here also around my middle piece but i haven't decide which bit i'ma use but i figured that out in the morning because i'm not gonna do no routing tonight on my way to daylight in the morning then i do it outside because i don't want all that dust in here so i cut it back on in the morning [Applause] i had went on to cut it on the inside because i wasn't trimming them but a little small bit off of it they still kicked up a lot of dust everywhere and i used this bit here where is it i use that one so now i just cut this here out then i began to go ahead and press my fish onto it so let me cut that out both pieces cut out i just got them cleaned up my middle put some sandpaper there i'm gonna clean it up more once i put it on but there's your middle pieces just sit in the middle like that you're gonna need you some clamps and you're know put your mesh on try to line it up over the middle piece then you take your outer piece and try to get it centered then you're gonna need another piece of wood to sit on top of everything i'm gonna use that and that's how you got it sandwiched then get you some clamps and i'm going to put a clamp here and a clamp there so let me do that this is how i got my clamp set up i'm probably going to have to adjust mass because my clamps ain't wide enough to go over here into the middle so i'm going to press this side down and probably spin it around and do the other side but you want to make sure everything's still centered then you just want to tighten your clamps down i'm just moving the clamps in different spots i had tightened it here then i moved it on to the edge now i'm gonna put put the clamp here and tighten it just gonna work my way around make sure the mesh completely fits all right tuck the clamps off now i'm just gonna flip it around this way yeah turn it but i still got to do this side because my clamp wasn't big enough to reach over there it's just gonna do it like this here i'm gonna put this back on now finish clamping it down i got this in here pressed i have flipped it over but now you can see what i was talking got a about pressed in it's gonna sit down up and up like that now what i do i just trim this off then i press my other one on then we'll move on to the next step got both speaker miss grills press now i can take them out and kind of line it up where i actually want it i'm gonna do both of them like that somewhere alone now then i take my sharpen just trace out around the outer edge because that's where i'll be cutting it it's my mark i take my jig so just cut this out here on both sides all right got it cut out i had to cut through some metal on part of it but this eye is going to sit it's going to sit up in there like that i can't get to stay up but that's how i gonna sit i'm gonna mix up some bundle glass some fiberglass filler just to hold it in place until i get everything set let me see this one he'll sit up in there it's gonna sit like that i'm just gonna mix up some bundle glass and just somewhat fill in the cracks put some on each end just to hold it in place what i did i just turned the pad over and i cleaned out all four corners cleaned that foam up and i kind of got me some sandpaper kind of stuffed up the metal part so i have some to burn too with the fiberglass filler i also did three spots in the middle so let me put the heart in this then i just start sitting it in place just set in place now five layers fill it on hard enough i also went back let me show you how this go i went back and just traced that around the mesh so i know which way i go instead of trying to figure out like if it go here i'll go like that this one here on this side but i'm not gonna put these in until i finish painting everything because i'm gonna paint these black so let's turn it over move on to the next step this had a front look i also went and sanded my edges down here because some of them were sticking up like right here i just used the d8 with some 180 knocked it down right here also but we got a you see all these cracks here we gotta knock these cracks down cause let me show you she has lifted up if we don't knock them down when we put the fleece on it's gonna have that lift up right there then we'll have to try to do some bodywork to get that up so we're going to knock all this down pretty much flat like right here just lift it up got to knock that down i think i'm just going to take my box cutter and just cut that whole lip off like up in here see imma knock out that [Applause] down let me take it then i cut you back on finish knocking down all my high areas what you're trying to do is just trying to make sure everything below the actual dash pad you don't want that sticking up i also did it around this back side it's pretty much flat here and you ain't got to worry about the low spots here because the fleece is gonna go right on top of that but this area here i'm gonna have to shoot some foam enough some spray foam just in order to keep my shape when i lay the fleece on because this i want to keep this shape here when i start wrapping it around here so i'm gonna spray some foam up in that part everything else should be fine i'm just gonna use the skin phone spray foam dry i trim it up to shape i had just knocked it down while i was still wet i didn't wait till it dry i just put this on top of it knocked it down flat that should be good enough that's the shape i need so once it's dry we'll move on all these little pieces is what came off the dash what i had to trim up just to make sure everything was flat once the foam had dried i just took some 180 sandpaper just kind of smooth everything on that below the surface you don't got to be exactly as with the surface as long as it ain't sticking to the surface and then i took a rag and just wipe down the pad trying to make sure it's pretty clean because i'm finna start putting the fleece on i just got some fleece from walmart and i'm going to use some loctite spray spray it on and i like to put my fleece let me put it on here first can i show you i like to put it on kind of even it out then throw one side back and spray this side then do the other side after i spray this tighten it on up i like to spray both surfaces i spray the pad also the fleece [Music] also when you pulling the fleece over you want to give yourself some slack because you want to be able to pull your fleece down up in the bench and take it over so you want to kind of get yourself some slack like that you just want to work your way on down so that i'm done with the vent was gonna spray some more spray on it [Music] once you get your fleece pretty stretched out i ain't too tough worried about overlapping it yet i'm just getting this top done you want to move to the other side throw your fleece back it's going to be middleways and do the same exact thing once you get that top stretched out you want to go ahead and get your razor blade and put your slit right down the center of the air vent then we're going to flip it over and start trimming out everything then we'll overlap the back side the pad turns over now with the events that i put me some relief cuts so i'd be able to fold the ends over like that did it on both vents then i just took some seals and started trimming out because i'm gonna overlap it on the back side like that i just took some scissors just went along the edge like that all the way around and on this front side i'm gonna overlap it then i'll probably put some staples in that little lift up and just cut the rest of it off got everything overlapped i'm gonna have to go back and trim this once i shoot some staples in this part here just to hold it down from here all the way around to here then i might put something up to keep that down but everything else should be good to go i'm just going to use this stapler see i stapled here because it's like a lip here i just wanted to keep that fleece laying flat right there when i put the resin on also around here i'm about to go back and cut that out once i put the resin on and it harden up so i'll move that's the reason why i put these staples here so the fleece don't move because when you put the resin down it start interacting with the glue and then start lifting up now i'm going to turn it over and i'm going to staple around this speaker opening where the grill go because i'm eventually cut it out once the reds are hardened up i'm just staple along the edge not right up on the edge but somewhere close to it and everything that should be fine well i might yeah yeah i'm gonna put something right here because this could lift up any way you think it might lift up you need to put some staples in it and a lot of people ask me what size stables i'll be using quarter inch got all my spots that i felt like might lift up staple down like i said i just staple up to the edge now i'm ready to start putting some resin on my fleece just strengthen it up and i also put an old blanket on the floor because the resin it's going to start dripping and it'll harden up on the concrete so i just did that be on the safe side just the resin i'ma use bundle fiberglass resin i got some chip brushes and an old paint cup and a paint stirrer and a hardener so let me mix this up then i get ready to start brushing it [Music] [Applause] [Music] on [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] just want to get your brush and just start brushing it on [Applause] [Music] this is one layer of resin everything should draw up now because when you put the resin on it interact with the glue and this should pull everything together where all them cracks and stuff was that where it was low it should pull the fleece level to fleece out so i let this dry come back out here then i start fiberglassing i had forgot to staple around this so i had to do this once i had resin from this side because that's where the defrost has been at i decided to go ahead and start fiberglassing it because it's not hard and i'll be waiting probably to in the morning before it get hard because of this weather it's kind of cold right here so i'm just going to go ahead and fiberglass it now so it'll be sitting up overnight then i finish up in the morning because i'm fighting for time but i got some fiberglass mat and some fiberglass cloth i think i'm gonna use this cloth on this flat part i'm gonna cut me a sheet about the same size of this top part here then i might put some mat around the curves so let me open this up cut my piece out i just laid the cloth out over the existing uh fleece now i'm just going to cut around on all the areas that i need to cut like i'm not gonna i'm gonna cut it around here so it'll be easy to cut once you're hardened up because once it hardens it's hard to cut out i'm gonna cut my fence out and i might leave a little hanging just to overlap around i'll go back in and like use probably i probably use five glass mat just to go around the uh curves because the mat it makes the contours a lot easier to do than this cloth got my fiberglass cloth cut now i just threw it back about halfway and i'm going to put some more resin down on some of the arrows because it's not enough you want it it'll lay down better when uh fiberglass soap so i'm gonna put some more down right here and uh throw it back over put some on top [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] blue [Music] [Applause] [Music] i got the cloth down i'ma let it dry then i'll come back out here and flip it over and do the little overlap it's not fully dry still kind of sticking some of the areas but i'm gonna flip it over and do the back side i'm gonna put down some wax paper on the stand so it don't stick to the stands fiberglass don't stick to the wax paper i just pre-cut some strips to fill in all the spots that i didn't get on the overlap now just mix up some more resin and lay this down got that taken care of we'll let this dry on up then we'll move on everything good and dry now on the front side and back side let me flip it over so now we gonna clean up all these little jagged edges where the fiberglass didn't stick to the surface where around the edges like up in there we're just going to knock that down with some 180 on the d8a we also going to try to knock this down somewhere flat we're just going to use the d.a some 80 grit [Applause] [Applause] knocked all my high arrows down with the 180 also been going back digging out my air pockets like right here i just take my box cutter just open it up so i can get some filling in my hairs though once you do that you can move on i'm gonna fill this spot here up with some filler also here just all my low hairs i'm not concerned about this area here because it's pretty much flat it's pretty low here i'm just going to use some body filler some other coat this is probably here here and here then i might wipe somewhere like like up in here i'll wipe some nail with my finger kind of even it out a little bit before i move on we're going to let this here dry then we'll knock this down with some 1 8 also to fill it down i wasn't trying to get it too even i just wanted to get it somewhere even with the surface because i'm finna brush some rundown on it now and run those just a brush for a body filler if you want to know how to make it i have it down in the description i also have it popping up i'm just going to put it in the cyan cup right it makes my resin here look at the brush just going to mix it in here i have to get another chip brush though that was not hard enough [Music] [Music] [Music] just run over here as it dries itself a little bit so but you want to make sure you try to get most of the brush marks up before i start drying because once you start drying it's going to be as is and i try to get the drips up also but it don't matter if you don't because you can always sand them out hold on drag now i'm good to go to start saying it i'm gonna take the same va put some fresh 1 8 on it just knock this down trying to get as smooth as i can [Applause] [Music] i had actually knocked this down with 80 grit i think i said 180 but it's actually 80 grit and you can see my low areas it's these little dark areas here you want to try to keep the da as flat as you can because if you don't you know confusion what's low and what's not i could just go back and mix up some filler and just wipe these arrows out of lawyers but i'm just going to take that extra step and make some more rondo just wipe some more rondo on top of this here let me turn it over and show you the back side i'm gonna go back and cut this out after my next sand but i'm gonna leave it on here now because i don't want no rundo or nothing to get on this part here because this the part that i gotta attach the dash back on with the dash pad back onto the extra dash my second round the rondo drive so i take it outside and do the same thing like i did before knock down now with the da 80 grit i'm gonna start hearing saying enough with the blocks but before i start blocking it i still got some little low spots here here now i'm gonna feel those before i start blocking it i'm just going to use the same filler that i put in the rondo i'm just going to mix it up by itself once my filler dried where i did the repair spots i'm gonna block it but before i start blocking it i might as well go ahead and cut the spots here out but i'm gonna do it in the morning because i'm gonna call it a night i'm gonna cut these out with the dremel two also here i just gotta find out where exactly to cut it i'll flip it over and probably put some little spots on the inside then i just cut a little bit on the inside of that and i should be good to go on that same way with this following morning i'm about to cut my hose out with my openings out put my speakers in the defrost vent and drill the four hoses right here and i'm gonna cut this out with just a drummer like i'm gonna use this one put one of these blades on it [Music] let's take my drill and drill the hose through now i'm trimming up this part here with the drummer still gotta cut this part on around here backside cut out completely now i'm gonna mix up some filler some body filler and just kind of wipe some along this line here just to clean it up a little bit which you're not gonna be able to see it because the extra dash pause sit up in there like that but i just want to clean it up i also do got some air pockets i'm gonna put some filling nose finished up with the filler just wiped it along this part here it's dry but i'm gonna wait to sign it i'm about to concentrate on this vent but it's hot this coil look i haven't showed yet but i gotta fill this in i know how to make it flush with the frame and this vent i had just came back from the yard because i went to go try to find another one for this side but i couldn't find now so i just grabbed something about another car these came out of 2010 chevy malibu so i'm gonna make these work i'm gonna put it in here probably like that there somewhere alone now i'm gonna have to trim this back so i can find my glass fiberglass at the end but i'm gonna cut this out first get it exactly the way i want it i just trimmed this up some and i traced it out i tried to get it in the position where i want it i think that's going to be good though now i'm going to take my drum and just cut all this out this fiberglass out and fill that until i get down to the phone and some metal right here up under the foam so i got to cut that out too just to get it deep enough [Music] i finally got it cut out and cleaned out enough to kind of sink this here i did both sides i had to use different little tubes there to get the job done because that little hopper freight dremel the two it wasn't doing the job i had to cut through the metal as you can see that's metal here now i'll be cleaning this out i'm gonna cut it right up to where dropped down because this is like vinyl and foam so i want to get it fiberglass up to it so i'm gonna trim that out now you can see what i was talking about i just trimmed out around the outer edge now i'm gonna drop it down some kind of beveled it off so i have enough room to put some fiberglass up in there and this would be flush with the dash itself see i built the ears off that's so when i store putting a fiberglass filler in here it'll make it stronger because if i would have kept it level with the surface it wouldn't have been as strong because it would have been less filler and i couldn't have got that much filler in there so i build it off i'm gonna put this back in there just so to keep it shape until the filler dry we're gonna set this side here in place also around here i'm gonna put some fiberglass fully here to level that off fill the appliance i'm just gonna remove this aluminum tape let it harden on up then i start sanding i'm gonna have to go back and put some regular lightweight filler on it and shape it on up i just wanted to get somewhat of the shape and remove this can't stand to get it up there you go shape this up also i sanded the fiberglass filler down and i cut me a piece of fiberglass mat i'm gonna put it over the opening i just traced out this piece here and just cut it out it's just going over the opening like that fiberglass mat apply it i just gotta let it dry then i put some more filler and flush everything out popular i had hit this with 80 grit i just tried to clean up around the edges before i started putting fill on it i decided to just use some lightweight filler instead of five glass filler also i knocked this down up here i got to put some fill on it shape it on up lightweight filler plaid almost dry but once it dries i knock this down with 80 grit get it somewhat level with the surface then i start hand sanding it i've been hearing sanding trying to clean up around here i just took some sandpaper folded in half and i just went back and forth up and down side to side trying to make all these lands here a lot straighter and on this hill i just took this dremel here i put this tip here on there to clean up around up in here let me show you if i can put one here [Music] i just been standing this backside also the front side trying to shape everything up i'm trying to round it back off from where the d8 squared it off i'm just going around moving it out and i'm just using 80 grit just about way out now just like around here just shaking it up cleaned out all that i just took my sandpaper the same way kind of folded the shape of this taking everything up some areas i got to hit with some glaze and put it because i don't know if you can see it from the dark looks faster i'm gonna hit with one part because they kind of shallow but there's a spot here that i might gotta put some two part in it because it's pretty deep like right here and i'm just gonna use this glazing putty here the small imperfections i still haven't blocked it yet i'm gonna do that once i get all my spots that i seen i sanded the glaze and put over here i had to wipe some more here it ain't dry yet but i'm gonna start blocking it now i'm not gonna use a big block right now i just want to somewhat get the surface flat so i can prime it and once i prime it i use a bigger block i'm just going to use some 80 grit again put it on the da not the d8 but the block and start blocking it [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] got the blocking done with the 8 degree on the small block now i got some 180 i just folded it in half i'm gonna clean up this edge kind of round it off a little bit like i did on the router but it was actually below the surface so i covered it up so i'm just going to round it off with the 180 and also let me show you here these pieces here i had insane at this one i took some 80 grit because once you put that paint on it i think this piece let me put it in here once you put that paint on it you're going to be building up layers of paint you want to make sure you got enough clearance so to fit so i had sand it you might could see that lip there i sanded the lip down because if you don't when you get through painting it ain't gonna fit see i got enough clearance there i got to sand this here some more and i just did 80 grit i just used that line the little lip as a reference i think i'm getting down to the get down now got this shaped up let me put it in here for you like i got enough clearance after i prime it shoot the base with this here going black but the rest of it going candid so it's going to be a lot of coats built up also this side here i had test fitted my grills make sure they stayed fitting correctly like this the right one i'm gonna paint this black also i gotta scuff these up also i'm gonna do that i'm gonna scuff this up i'll show up in here and i'm gonna use a maroon sky spray to do it just gonna roll across then i'll blow everything off and wait for this spider head to dry they're not saying that then i should be ready for some primer pretty much ready to be primed now got everything sanded i try to get everything as smooth as i can before i prime it even though i'm gonna find more imperfections after the prime just make it a lot easier i also tried to clean up a little bit these pieces over here i'm gonna spray with some adhesion promoter before i spray the primer because they plastic and i'm just gonna put some on this aluminum and also here this is vinyl just sort of you know let that primer stick a little bit better [Music] hey [Music] hi [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] me [Music] now you can see a lot of the imperfections the pinholes there you go ain't focusing but you can see him here imperfection now yeah and all the ones that i see i'm just going to fill it with some glazing putty the bigger ones that's on this flat area i'm going to find that with some guide coat once i feel the ones i can see and these pieces over here this piece here start reacting i don't know if you can see it but i put enough primer on it though sand it flat glaze and put it wiped on the spots that i seen a little minor imperfections in the pinholes now i'm just going to use some flat black spray paint for the guide coat i'm going to mist it on you don't want to put it on that heavy this is all you need just trying to have something to feel the low hairs once you start blocking [Music] it also lets you know where you have them sanded and where you have sand it so [Music] so [Music] good guy dry i got some 180 on my blocks got a smaller block and a larger one usually smaller over this here area and a larger right here you just want to go on the x pattern back and forth you already see now the high areas and the lower you can see right here it's low because i haven't reached the geico yet so i got to keep blocking it until i get it flat i got enough primer here where i should be able to block a lot more like i put that full coat of primer on it but i got to bring this down you want it to be light gray like this yeah then that's when you know it's flat so let me bring this down some more i just wanted to show you what it's looking like some of these areas here like right here it's too low to block out so i'm gonna have to put some two-part glaze and put it on this spot this spot also this spot how you know you're getting kind of too low i'm getting down below the primer so i'm gonna stop right here just feel these errors this here i see i can bring this down over here it's good i'm not going to feel these areas to uh block the whole dash pad on the front and back so let me take care of that then i'll cut it back on [Music] yes [Music] my tell me [Music] block the entire pad with 180 front and back now you can see all my low errors slow area low low low just low it's high just low slowly low areas here now just going to put a thin layer glaze and put it over all those areas and once it's dry i'll block it again with 180 started wiping my areas i still got a fremo gotta mix up some more glaze and put it still got a free mower uphill i gotta do the back side also [Music] [Music] [Music] is um [Music] um everything sanded ready for the final prime should be pretty flat now let me mix this prime up let's go ahead and spread [Music] that's good [Music] hi [Music] [Music] the same process as we did the last time with the guide coat flat black spray fence just missed it on [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i'm right here test fit in the dash now you want to make sure you constantly test fit it most definitely before you paint it it's the final stages of sanding so make sure everything fit see that's the defrost vent the one that i made but that's the actual vent part down i don't know if you can see it let me take you around on the other side that's the speaker and the speaker grill opening defrost yeah you can see the bin on this side but everything fit perfect so i'm good to go start wet sanding all right back on the inside i got a soft block this flex also got a stiffer one here i got my soapy water i just put some dish detergent in it a little bit i got a piece of 320 here you can use i would recommend using 400 but some base scopes cover 320 pretty well but 400 you'd be good to go most effort or you can just use 320 and put more coats at base or you can go back with some 600. i'm going to use 320 because it cuts a lot faster than 400 and 600 and i'll be able to cover the scratches with my base coat so but let me get the block together i'm just going to wrap it around here i'll be doing the same thing going in the x-pattern like we did when we was blocking with the 180. just moving the guy's coat everything should be pretty much flat enough but you still might see some good low errors but it didn't take much to get it flat like right here you could tell that's lower than this area here because it's still got the gag coat oh [Music] [Music] let me show you a spot here that i'm gonna have to hit with some one part glazing putty i had missed this it's pretty low before i was trying to block it out so i took this glaze and put it here i wipe it on with something still like a business card or something not a business yeah business card work just so i put something on here and wipe it on just need a little skim coat on i got everything blocked that's flat the redstone i'm gonna do it by hand i'm just gonna wipe it down and show you the areas that i didn't block that i'm doing right here you should be able to see it now okay so i lift this heel along i'm gonna do that by hand up in here this front side because it's rounded off because you don't want to square your ends off with the block which i'm gonna go back up in here and hit it just to round it off do this by hand i'll swap in here and the back side i'm gonna do all that by hand i just wanted to make sure this top part here was flat so when i put that panel now you won't see no waves [Music] god kiss me all the wet sand and done i take this outside clean it up with some soap and water bring it back in let it be drying off while it's drying i hit these lightly for these to be sprayed with the jet black then uh spray this here with the candy got it cleaned up dried off and i wiped it down with wax and grease remover i got these turned over for now because i'm going to spray the backside with maybe one coat then i'm gonna flip it over do the front and also i got this decal here that i'm gonna put a lot about putting right here it's gonna be black though once i peel the decal i'm gonna spray black but i was trying to center it and i just realized this part here it's not centered with the vents because this ceiling oh yeah but it's not centered with the vents so i don't know what they was thinking about when they done that but i guess i had center with the dash put it somewhere right here so i sprayed a little black red here [Music] um [Music] um [Music] now just turn them over and spray this at i just wanted to get some black on the backside even though you're not gonna be able to see it and this over here i gotta let it dry before i put that decal on it because i don't want to peel it up or i could shoot some undercoat on it i think i'm just going to let it dry and let it sit for an hour too this should be big enough for that just the black i was using it's the super jet black by euro camp [Music] finished up with the black this one he was trying to react a little bit but came out all right now i know i said i was gonna wait a couple hours to mash this off with the decal but i think i'm just gonna shoot shoot an undercoat clear on it so i ain't got to wait i'm going to take it over here it's the inner coat clear it's about time cool mix it 101 i'm gonna shoot about two coats of that on it to be on the safe side then i can go ahead and keep on moving i'm gonna cope clear i'm gonna take some 600 and hit it lightly like a ryan hill with a little old spray hit up in here knock it down some which i don't have to i'm just going to do it give it like an even surface when i start playing the uh the gold base coat i'm gonna hit it lightly then i put the uh decal on knocked it down still can see some of the orange peel but it's gonna get covered up i just want to make sure everything was feathered and smooth i'm just composition my decal in place and stick it on now let me show you the base coat that i'm gonna use here is the base it's a metallic light sunset go right here again just going press it down and get ready to shoot over now i'm gonna take everything off before i shoot the base get all the lint and whatever then laid down on it since i uh sprayed the black then i also probably shoot some gold right here with this black at first [Music] so [Music] three coats of the gold base done flashed off so i'm gonna take a tech cloth and take everything back off before i spray the candy let me take you over here and show you the candy it's the emerald green candy by eureka [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] just three coats of candy now i gotta remove this decal i tried to remove it right after i sprayed it but i started getting into it so i had to lightly miss some more you might see at the bottom of it right there so what i'm gonna do i'm gonna spray a light coat of undercoat clear just right here with this decal at just in case i get into the candle it'll protect it i ran into a problem yesterday and i didn't even film it when i started pulling the decal up the can they had bridged it and kind of hardened up and they peeled some of the canned up as you can see right here where it's like that but that come with paint you always might run into something so what i'm gonna do i had to put some clear on it just to seal it so i'm gonna sand this here then i'm gonna touch this up with some fine line tape let me see i'm gonna touch that with this here and i'm just gonna have this part in here black then i just shoot some more clear over this after i sand it down what i'm doing now i'm just blocking everything back down with 600 once i do this front side i turn it over and hit the back side then i dry it off and start masking off for this here i also trying to get this line out but i'm not going to be able to get it out completely but it'll be okay you can see i'm taping right above what the original line was got it outlined now all i have to do is just go back and fill in and this part here i didn't want to get it sanded down too flat because i wanted to get that 3d look this middle part it'll be like a 3d look once i spray the black it'll be somewhat lifted up in the middle ready to shoot the black just gotta wipe it down i'm gonna put probably two coats on it light coats now we're back on track now i can get ready to shoot the clear let me take insert of the clip that i'd be using grant seven high silent oh my clear mix is two to one 10 to 15 minute flash stand between coats [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] just finished up with the clear i put three coats of the grand salmon oh my clear on it i could lay down real good got a little trash here now a little spot there also one here but it ain't no big deal gonna be right there but once it dries i'll come back out here and getting another shot once i put the speaker rails and the defrost vent in now i'm just going to set my speaker niche in place now thank you for but i don't paint it watching the lens like that's it i got this side sitting i could just shoot some staples in from this side hold it in place but just my look i'll shoot something in it'll push through the other side and i don't want to do that so i'm just going to mix up some fiberglass filler a little bit dab some on each corner that'll hold it in place then i put these in for another side got some mixed up now i just take my finger grab a little bit just put it put it on there it's gonna burn to it just put some on each corner you'll be good i got a can putting some weight on it to hold it down until it dry get that taken care of it ain't fully hard enough but it's hard though let me flip it over and put the defrost vents in then i'd be good to go [Music] uh [Music] um [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah [Music] um [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] right from the bottom [Music]
