Cowboy Boots TOTAL RESTORATION

hey ladies and gents and welcome back so today we have this pair of cowboy boots and as you can see they're in really rough shape so we're going to get them in the shop we're going to get them redone and we're going to make them look brand new so without further Ado let's get to this pair of [Music] boots so you a lot of times you guys will see us replace the insoles on these particularly when they have holes worn all the way through well this gentleman doesn't so we're going to do something a little different for this pair of boots and I'm going to explain all right so these insoles are well broken in in fact he wore the them so much that it went through and it warped the insole now these are expensive to repair because these are handcarved there's no gming in this it's all done by hand now we can do two things we can either replace it which like I said it's expensive timec consuming or since it doesn't have a lot of cork that's really going to push that down it's just a thin little piece of leather we can soak this and then try to hammer this out a little bit and when he gets back on the customer's foot it'll feel just like it always has okay guys while we wait for the smooth so one of the things about a nice pair of cowboy boots and I'm not sure if you guys caught this in the beginning but most of them or a lot of them don't have cork in them uh instead they just use a real thin piece of leather like this and that will go on top of the insole and cover up the stitches so let's get these glued in and then we'll keep on [Music] going all right so Trent showed you why we put a new piece of leather under the ball of the foot now these are the shank covers and they are destroyed we have cut out some new ones out of some thick leather now we're going to get those glued down then we'll get our souls on [Music] oh [Music] [Music] a [Music] so again Guys these are elephant skin and I just want to be on the uh cautious side when I'm putting products on here it's extremely durable leather but again I just want to be cautious so in that case if you ever have a product or a leather where you're like not quite sure what to use and you want to be really go check them out all right back to this pair of L Casey boots what did we do all right so let's go straight to the insole he warped it in a couple of spots it wasn't m but it was you know two spots that he would F under his foot if we had cork on it like some cowboy boots but because these are kind of a traditional there's no cork there's no gimmi it's just a lowly flat piece of leather that's sitting on top of it we're able to wet that hammer that back out and I mean we stuck our hand down in there and you don't fill the you can't fill it so it's going to be good for the wear and uh it's something you can do on traditional cowboy boots like that and yeah and it's again one of those things guys where a lot of times I know you watch our videos and it shows us always redoing the the insole it's not always the case and in this case you all we had to do is just simply wet it and Hammer it out and he's good to go again so saves money it saves you a lot of money so keep that in mind you don't always have to replace the ins Soul unless it really needs it other than that new Jr Souls new Jr Souls we went through the waist we just decided to give that kind of peened uh hammer look like a like you know yeah like a stilled Hammer yeah little something different and um and pegged it and yeah capped it capped it off with Vibram Hills and it was pretty straightforward still able to use a lot of the Hill block we just had to add a couple of extra stacks of leather because he had worn into them originally uh so we were able to reuse a lot of it and that's part of a good quality boot is you know you don't have to replace everything unless you just completely demolished it uh as long as you're getting them in in time to have the Marie sold you can reuse a lot of the the parts
