Does this cop actually think you can't drive a car into the US without registering it? Poor Canadians looking for a quick visit across the border.
I’ve never heard an officer say he has to leave to go to another call... But i guess i’ve also never heard one admit they were wrong either.
I was following two motorcycle Sheriffs on the freeway for about 20 miles in the carpool lane. I had two kids in the back of my sedan, which has tinted windows. A CHP pulls up behind me lights flashing. I had to make my way across five lanes on the 405 to the shoulder. He walks up and looks in my car a immediately apologizes, says he didn’t see my kids for the HOV lane, says have a great day, I’ll help you get back into traffic And that was that. Didn’t even run my license or anything.
The reason I mention the sheriff motorcycles is I just thought it was funny the CHP thought I was so bold that I would ride solo in the carpool lane behind two cops.
I only continued watching because I swear the cop was going to review the documentation and say something like, "I can't read that freaky deaky language. You have any documentation in American for me to read?"
While it's true this guy was acting like a dick, what this really comes down to his shit training from his department. Oregon isn't all that far from Canada, I find it a little hard to believe they didn't cover this, especially at a highway patrol level, where they probably deal with international drivers than anyone else in the state.
This was great. 3/4 of cops I deal with a great people. I had one pull me over because he thought I was driving solo in the carpool lane. My passenger was napping in full recline. The cop was shocked to see a passenger. He keep babbling and making up bullshit because god forbid he made a mistake and was wrong. He left in the same exact manner. 🍻
compare how professional this police office is when he pulls this guy over compare to the oregon state trooper. almost night and day
