Coney Island Dogs

very excited for today's video i got me some coney island hot dogs they're looking classic they're looking og i don't think i've ever had these they're an american classic and i'm ashamed that i don't know what these are all about i know they are right up my alley though i did a little research and hot dogs for one one of my favorite foods chili one of my favorite foods so you might be saying oh just a glorified chili dog but i don't think so i think there are some magical combinations going on in here that take it to the next level and what i mean by that is a bunch of raw white onions chopped up and a good helping of mustard you think of both toppings separately going with hot dogs for sure but you don't really think of mustard and chili going together it's definitely beanless that's the way to go i think there's different you know varieties whether you're in cincinnati or detroit whatever i don't know exactly what these are but all i know is i'm trying to get into these real quick i apologize if there's any echo or this weird lighting you know i might be on the move and what i mean by that is i might be on the scheme so let me cut into one of these real quick i'll just cut into this uh you know i still wanted to get a video out for y'all and so the next few videos might be a little bit strange but check this out look at that cross section so you can see hopefully man this lighting is pretty cray but yeah oh there's a hot dog this bun is super soft you can see a good amount of that meat sauce aka beanless chili uh mustard and a bunch of white onions i'm thinking they must have steamed this bun just got that really good feel in the hand let me go for a bite this cost me 20 bucks by the way the good the good old four for 20 deal the old classic let's get into it that is the one right there that is it you just don't go wrong with that you know what i'm saying yeah you know i've had chili dogs before obviously i've had very hot dogs are one of my favorite food low-key i've had hot dogs with mustard with mustard and onions or chili or chili and cheese but this yeah this is this is mighty fun i did see that there are some variations where you can put a little bit of uh cheese right on top i'm i'm gonna say that's the cincinnati version where you put the shredded cheddar cheese right on top a big heaping bound but i wanted to keep it pretty classy today plus i didn't have any cheese or else i definitely would have thrown it on there to be honest with you yeah so what i'm saying is the raw onions and the kind of tangy mustard you know they perfectly balance out the meatiness of that meat sauce damn yeah this particular dog in here uh it's a solid dog nice little snap to it not nothing too special but i almost feel like the dog and the bun is just a base to carry these toppings i mean the toppings are just as important as the base in my opinion um hopefully you can see maybe you can see this one better i mean there's a good amount of onions if there was something that i would do different personally i'd throw on more onions and maybe even a little bit more mustard you know i am a mustard man definitely one of my favorite hot dog varieties that i've tried until now you know i've tried what chicago style new york style you know regular chili dogs chili cheese dogs that's probably just about it but this is up there way up there um well i probably mentioned before uh another reason why i might be enjoying these more than i should is hot dogs like all beef hot dogs are non-existent here pretty much you have to go through some tunnels to grab them so i never really eat them and they're way more expensive than they should be i used to if i enjoyed them i used to get a like an eight pack for like three bucks or something get some dollar buns and you know that could last me a few days back when i was back in the old days so 20 20 bucks for four dogs like this you gotta do what you gotta do uh in this day and age but man to me definitely worth it and i'll tell you what i think my theory was right the more mustard butter mustard and chili man don't sleep we all know i'm from illinois some of you guys a small town but i still rep the shy i gotta say i would i think this is better than the chicago style hot dog i like i love you know i'd say i like the chicago style hot dog i don't love it it's a little bit too much you know i'm saying this i just feel like this works better you know i can only imagine um adding a good helping of shredded cheddar cheese on top would make it even better but i don't you don't need it i'm not i'm not asking for it i'm not craving it that was the perfect little meal for me right there so yeah if you never had something like this you know what are you doing but yeah i'm about to get out of here hope you guys enjoyed this one thank you for watching i'll catch you in the next video peace
