[Applause] [Music] grown man cry there it is the future of Gaming that couldn't be farther from the truth the year was 1995 and at this point in my retro life the general gaming public wasn't too thrilled with Sega [Music] over the last few years Sega had failed to sell Gamers on their Sega CD and 32x add-ons For Better or Worse dad and I remained the Sega faithful it didn't matter that the general public didn't understand the Sega CD or could care less about the 32x we got it we loved it that's cool [Applause] [Music] come summer of 95 word on the street was out that Sega would finally unveil a release date for their true 32-bit Sega Genesis successor the Sega Saturn introducing Sega Saturn my excitement for a new Sega console couldn't be greater than infamously e395 Sega did the unthinkable we started our rollout the Sega Saturn yesterday we were at retail today Sega Saturn is not only here now it's out there did he just say it was out there the system was out there I'll Saturn would you like to go out with this girl boy she'd run rings around you it's funny hearing dad continually mention the high cost of sega's new 32-bit console 400 was sort of a bitter pill to swallow especially when 299 again it didn't matter dad and I were Sega fans the true blue and with the Sega Saturn in our house months before the PlayStation the 32-bit era of gaming had officially begun this is Marvel Superheroes night Warriors the Sega Saturn was never going to be the hippest kid on the video game block not with a graphics processor that emphasized 2D gameplays [Applause] [Music] oh sure the sleek and sexy Saturn could do 3D gaming just fine but it was more of an afterthought for Sega the system was designed to be a 2d gaming monster just check out how awesome this port of Street Fighter Alpha 2 looked on the Sega Saturn [Music] foreign [Music] fighting game like Street Fighter Alpha 2 never felt closer to the arcade in fact it was this love for how the Saturn handled arcade ports that led us to embrace the console's best kept secret it's Japanese library of games a vampire savior cotton oh my God have fun Generations four go divorce five some PlayStation
