you guys know I enjoy looking at Retro Gaming related things on Amazon and picking them up and then making a video about it and that's what we're doing today with the super console X2 now this system is about 80 or so dollars and I was very interested in it promises over 60,000 games and it's a plug-and play you don't need a computer to use this you could simply hook it up directly to your TV goes into an operating system and all the games are right on here but is this system any good is it worth picking up around the 80-ish doll price point I link to it in the description box down below but don't click it until you watch this video and find out whether or not this is worth your money so we're going to go ahead we're going to take a look at what comes with this system and then most importantly we're going to take a look at what matters the games all right so here's our super console X2 this is how it comes packaged in this nice tidy little box it's a kenank product we of course have done kenank products before on this channel some of them I like some of them not so much this is what comes inside the box here but we're still going to open it up anyways just to see how everything is another kinh Hank logo here let's quit wasting time let's open up this box because this is going to be a long video we have a lot of stuff to cover here so what's inside the Box a power supply okay neat neat what's up next ooh a remote control that I mean I'm never going to use this but whatever got an HDMI cable can never have too many of those I probably have a couple hundred at this point in time we have a USB stick here that you can plug into the system to give you some more USB ports that's actually a nice little feature I didn't know came with this and here is the system itself let's take off this plastic and this tape around it I will say I'm kind of impressed that it doesn't feel like a paper weight like it's actually got a little bit of heft to it nothing like super crazy or anything like that but a decent little bit of heft and then we see here we have a USB plug that features our memory card this is what has all the good stuff on it the games the emulators all of that jazz here so you just plug that into the system when you set it up and then it just boots up let's get rid of this other piece of tape on the back we have a ethernet cable port HDMI and then where we plug in our power along with an onoff switch on the side we have two USB plugs so we can plug in a controller because we're not going to be using the controllers that these come with I don't like these controllers they're very lightweight flimsy dual shock 2 controllers that have been coming in these Chinese systems for years I don't like them they stink so let's go ahead we'll go ahead and plug all of this up and we'll see how it performs all right so we have booted up this system it went to a splash screen where some files loaded up and now we're right in here so I didn't have to click on anything it just went directly into here there's a strange sort of 8bit rendition of Hotel California playing on this menu screen but as you can see here we have 60 5,000 games on this bad boy we're going to play every single one of them so your boy can get that sweet sweet ad Revenue but now we're going to look through the systems I'm hopeful that you know I can get N64 PS1 Dreamcast out of this it is sub $100 so I'm not really expecting the world here I am using a external controller I plugged it in everything was synced up well at least for now so that's good you know I like that you just plug it in and then boom you're right at the splash screen here with all the games so we have have the amstrad which of course you know I'm a big big amstrad fan the GX 4000 we have arcade Classics we have MIM with Bart Simpson on there so I'm assuming a little uh Simpsons arcade in there Atari 2600 5200 7800 I you know I I like everything looks clean you know it looks good Atari St um I've actually never played like really any I mean I've played like Atari s ports but I've never actually played like one of those systems like look at that big keyboard that looks like it would be fun a Thomas wave nice to see that on here wond Swan wonders Swan color Capcom cps1 two and three which are the various Capcom boards that have different games on them we'll take a look at some of those um cave I'm not going to sit here and act like I know what cave is because I don't um kico Vision Commodore 64 the little maniac Mansion there we have the Amiga final build alpha or final burn Alpha excuse me which is another emulator for some arcade games uh IGS which is a publisher irm which is also a publisher not quite sure why they get their own little stuff but I mean you know it's cool uh Magnavox odyssey2 uh the intell vision the good old user instructions once again with that beautiful kinh Hank logo cuz it's not a bear away uh vetrix oh that's kind of neat uh MSX MSX 2 PC and Eng PC engine CD very very nice it only has two games on here we're actually going to we're going to stop and look and make sure Castlevania how do you not have Castlevania on here how in the name of God now granted it is a you know it's an easy USB or just a SD card so you could put it on there man that's what's weird though um so now I have to look at some more libraries of stuff we have the super Graphics we have the turbo Graphics 16 we have the Nintendo 64 17 5 games so not a full Library hopefully just sports games are missing DS interesting interesting to see DS on here uh Nintendo entertainment system with how many games is that uh that means there's going to be some duplicates folks uh Nintendo Entertainment System hacks that's weird to have in here uh the famicom the famicom disc system Game and Watch Game Boy Game Boy Advance Game Boy Color super famicom Super Nintendo Super Nintendo Nintendo hacks Virtual Boy I love that I love that there is Virtual Boy on here open boore which is a um engine that like people use to make games 3dio Pokemon mini sakyo which is a publisher they make um some shooting games and I guess other stuff too screenshots Sega 32x Sega CD Dreamcast guy Sega Game Gear Sega Genesis Genesis hacks Master System Mega Drive why why is there two Mega drives oh that's a Mark I sorry Mega Drive Mark I okay uh Naomi oh Sega Saturn very interesting I wonder if anything is going to work on that sg1000 the Sharp 80 or x68000 uh the Sinclair Neo Geo Neo geio there's a lot of damn systems on this thing boys and girls Neo Geo pocket pocket color PS1 PlayStation Portable play station portable minis supervision and uzub box Okay so we've seen all the systems here pretty much what I would expected around this price point to uh to kind of see on here but I'm actually interested in seeing like I want to look at the NES so like do we have a bunch of duplicates h i mean there's ROM hacks in here which is kind of weird multiple vers like why are there three adventure Islands why are there two two Adventure Island 2os I I I'm going to be honest with you guys I want to make a system like this like I don't know the legality of it because all these systems are kind of made in China but like curated by me tested by me so that I can see and make sure that we don't have crap like this on here because it's annoying like it it just bogs down you know the amount of games that you have on here now maybe there's I mean I don't know like you know this is a this is a good list for the PC engine like it looks it looks as it should even though uh you know Castlevania uh isn't on there which is just bizarre to me but whatever I mean we can always add it if we want to but like that's a clean list here um you know not not super interested I guess like the arcade stuff I am I am curious to see what's in there and then we're going to test some stuff out so you know pretty common build now I will say like this is nice how it has the video playing um information on there as well let's make sure it's got my wrestling games on here okay okay good job good job oh we even got WrestleMania on here too very very nice Gotta Have gotta have my Wrestle Fest the greatest the greatest arcade game ever let see make sure oh I didn't even look for X-Men like that's pretty much what I'm looking for here okay I see X-Men oh we got multiple versions We got two four and six player very nice very nice got uh we need to see turtle and we need to see Simpsons um the under teenage and then as long as we have those like I I think you know that that pretty much as long as I and I have those damn all right we got The Simpsons um you know I have all these arcade one-ups that have all these games on here but I also want to say okay okay okay good job good job with the arcade stuff now we have to test some stuff out we got to see how some stuff runs here obviously I'm not going to start out with NES because I'm not going to bore you to death with that I don't know why people show like if this thing doesn't run NES just throw it in the garbage I wasted my 80 some OD dollars whatever I spent on I do want to look though just to see if maybe no there no Dracula X okay um do I want to start with N64 you know let's start with a Sega 32x I think that's a good system to start out with because that can be a little bit tricky um we do have some prototype games on here which is cool if you read my complete guides to the Sega 32x available on Amazon I'll have a link to it in the description box down below you would know that I talked about the X-Men prototype the virtual hamster prototype um you know all that sort of fun stuff in the book so um okay let's check out Virtual Fighter because this is a game that sometimes can be a little bit problematic it is on the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to Sega 32x games obviously the polygonal stuff on here okay nice little border crisp very crisp image I know some emulation stuff there's like weird um like artifacting that pops up let's check out the is there a menu system on here well we'll figure that out later we'll look at the options that we have in just a moment I just want to make sure that this is running good okay no graphical glitches it looks like it should I'm just trying to figure out the buttons all right there's my punch there's my kick where's my block now we're good all right Jackie uh but yeah this is this is running as it should looks good I mean for a 32 I mean this this is still impressive bro like oh man I'm an idiot um this is still impressive for a 32bit you know fake kind of 32bit system um but yes it is running exactly how it should I'm not noticing like any input lag it's just me trying to remember where the buttons are is why I'm playing poorly plus I'm trying to talk just give me around and uh I will actually be very satisfied with 32x because if this game works then I'm not expecting issues with any other game so I'm sure this is a start select sort of thing yep start and select at the same time on my controller is bringing me back to this main screen with a very loud song so let's check out the options here um we're using emul on this so we have game settings also sorts of stuff network settings too I'm just interested in game settings so what are we doing there all right game settings so let's see we have shaders what about different emulators that's what I want to see enable Max performance okay smooth games integer scaling so we do have some options here um you know it depends on the emulator itself what you're going to get I feel like at this price point though you're not going to be too picky about you know like what you're what you're doing as far as you know messing around with emulators and stuff you probably just want to play the games as they're sort of intended so you know so far actually pretty decent um I guess we could stick what about 3dio 3dio can be a little bit odd too sometimes I'm I'm not you know I'm almost not like familiar enough with 3DO but I do know this game um this was the game this was the reason I bought a 3dio back you know like when I was in my retro collecting stage because I wanted this game they did not have it available on any other platform and that might not be available on this platform either um oh no I spoke too soon I spoke we have the nice bezel on here let me just let me be patient it is 3DO 3DO obviously you know reading off of a disc and stuff like that can be a little bit tricky I wonder how the controls are going to be set up though okay triangle did that that that's the one problem with these damn systems bro it's always you never know what you're doing like this controller I have is pretty much modeled after like a dual shock controller so I'm kind of confused as to what button is what um but you can always adjust that sort of stuff too in the menus um I mean what what am I GNA complain about besides the fact that I can't figure out the damn buttons and t-hawk is beasting me but this I mean this looks good this is sounding good throw a freaking a do in okay that was a kick so like where where are the okay I I am embarrassing myself on this video but it's not really about how I play this game it's about how the game plays itself and this is actually running perfectly so you know those mid-range systems like I always do better in the second round I just got to get warmed up figure out some buttons um you know that um this is this is this is good this is very promising honestly I didn't necessarily expect you know it to go so good it sounds like there's a little bit of clipping in the audio um I am playing it at a very low sound all right so this is rgt from the future here when I was listening back to the Super Street Fighter 2 turbo footage it did not sound like it should should it seemed like it was playing fine but the audio is definitely crackling so I want to check out another game on here and I Know It kind of sounds a little bit jarring because the the audio is probably a little bit different than it was before but I would rather be right with this stuff than kind of lead you astray so we're going to check out road rash really quick here to make sure that you know to see whether or not if I recommend this for 3dio stuff because initially I thought it was okay but it it's seems like it's not so so let's see let's see how it how it does with 3dio I can already hear crackling I can already hear crackling so yeah it it's actually not very good for 3DO I did try to mess around with some settings there was only one emulator for 3dio that I noticed and I mean the fact that this is running PS1 fine which I mean I don't know if that has actually hasn't happened yet in this video but you'll see and that 3DO seems to be such a struggle is is very weird to me so I would not purchase this if you simply purchasing it for 3dio stuff so just wanted to clear that up let's go with a classic let's just do Mario Tennis I love this game I played this game so much when I got my Virtual Boy it was insane it was like I don't think any normal person in the world played their Virtual Boy as much as I did like this is so cool look he like hits the ball at you and it comes flying and it's like oh my God it's going to hit me in the face oh no it's not oh 3D oh okay so we got some cropping issues here you can see the screen is kind of cut off a bit um I mean we can adjust that so not the biggest deal in the world um I mean it's it's running exactly how it should oh God it's running I figured out the button at least it's running exactly how it should um I've just gota I've got to get my head in the game here toad is toad is beasting me but you can't see the scoreboard so maybe I why can't I hit the damn ball maybe it's that one oh my God it's weird because there's no sort of depth as far as you know when you're playing playing on a virtual boy you have that that death oh how was that a fault that was a perfect serve there we go get out of here you little Scamp all right get get me out of here I'm embarrassing myself even more maybe I just suck at video games like good lord I can't do anything right here all right let's kind of let's let's kick it up a notch here let's check out some N64 see what we got going on here and check out the the game list we got no mercy on there always always good to see we got revenge on there yep we're going with Revenge kitties um obviously my one of my favorite video games of all time a game that I am not bad at I don't need to know the controls I will figure out the controls and I will be able to play the game just fine and there is no denying that let's get Hogan we've got upscale texture so everything is looking very crisp I like that Hogan versus sting classic I won't make you sit through the whole match but I could if I wanted to but I feel like you might click off yeah see we already figured out the controls here oh you fool how dare you miss my leg drop but I mean this is running perfect now this isn't exactly the most you know taxing game um in the world for the N64 we'll take a look at Cruisin as you guys know that's that's pretty much Cruisin and Wave Race are like kind of the standards and uh Killer Instinct Killer Instinct is another game that can be a little bit troubling but I mean once again let's keep this in mind people we're talking about an $80 Semite system here like this is performing way better than I thought it like I I honestly thought I was going to be wasting my money with this you know I the system seems to be it's not super hot I just touched it um with my hand to make sure that you know it's not overheating or anything like that but it feels fine and I mean I me everything has been performing like rather well okay we'll go ahead and get out of here like I said I wasn't going to make you sit through I wanted to show you that I was decent at video games though because gez I've been I've been doing terrible with some of these other games all right let's see if we got cruising on here let's go cruising cruising USA cruising the USC but yeah so far so good I'm I I can't imagine I cannot imagine that interesting so now we have this border here so it's I guess it's using a different emulator because this is not you know with the with the uh with Revenge we had a a wide screen we had clearer textures but this seems to be using something different ooh o glitchy H okay why is it freaking out like that I don't like that oh God buttons all right there we go so we do have some graphical glitches going on here but like why is it using a different emulator that that's kind of interesting to me yeah there's some slowdown here okay so we're starting to we're starting to hit a little bit of a limit here with this system um you know there's some flickering but I I wonder if that is more so emulator based because Revenge was is running so well and upscaled whereas this isn't even running upscaled it's just you know I mean it's okay it's not perfect it's it's okayish but I wonder so N64 I mean you know we saw one game that worked perfectly we saw one game cruising that didn't work you know perfectly I guess I'll just try one more just to um just kind of balance it out to see if it's just a caseby case basis uh let's see here what's a what's a good game game um I mean we can do Super Mario why are there so many versions of Super Mario give me this one what is this oh Smash Brothers I read it wrong I I read it a Super Mario Brothers and I was I was very confused so let's check out Mario see how that is and then you know we'll kind of we'll kind of make a decision on what we're thinking for N64 hello got a little weird Flicker at the top of the screen nothing nothing too crazy Peach okay come on I I I always hate this part like just just let me get into the game La a two why are you filming me bro that's weird if you really think about it it's really weird how this dude just follows you around and films you and stalks you for the entire game yet if you sees you drowning if he sees you on fire if he sees you in trouble he does nothing he does nothing to help you he just watches Mario die it's a little weird bro all right come out of the pipe pudgy all right yes yes yes yes yes I mean it's not upscaled but we're using the default emulator that we used for the original cruising and this is working fine so let's just say your mileage will vary obviously you could play around with different settings and get different things to happen but like this is this is fine you know it's just it's not super crystally clear but we could always fix some things with that um like I've showed you guys before but okay so I'm satisfied with that all right so we're trying Sega Saturn again because I had some weird issues with the controller I just went ahead and rebooted the system and have come back into it now I want to look at some options here with that even though I hit a to give me the options and it did not do it that's okay I wanted to make sure my controller was all set up correctly for whatever reason it wasn't mapped right so I wasn't able to like mess around with some of the stuff until I figured out that that was the issue now that that's the issue we can actually see performance of the Sega Saturn I'm not expecting this to be great um you know especially at the price point of the system I [Music] can't I mean okay let's see I mean it it it's it's better than I thought it would be I'm not going to settle just for one game here um interesting that there's no borders around the screen and it looks a bit upscaled as well but yeah this seems fine rotate around I like I always inverted stuff always messes me up but yeah this seems to be uh running surprisingly decently um the Saturn list itself obviously isn't great because I'm sure there are some compatibility issues like I I can't imagine like Virtual Fighter 2 would run on here we'll check out Sonic Jam we'll check out the 3D area so we could see kind of how that runs um on this device you know I mean Panzer felt fine I'm sure your mileage will vary you know some of the more graphically intense games I could see potentially having issues on this okay at least you you figured out I was pressing start there no I want to go to the the sonic World a little flickering there Sonic World there we go there we go rgt I do notice that I'm getting a variable refresh rate sometimes here no way I mean Color Me impressed Color Me impressed I didn't expect it oh there's some slowdown there okay there there's a Slowdown but I mean it's not it's not terrible it's not like you actually play this you know it's more of just like a a Tech demo for what could have been a 32bit you know Saturn based Sonic game I don't know I'm I'm I'm I'm pretty I'm pretty impressed with that I didn't expect this to to be on the menu you know it's not perfect but hey you know that's how Saturn's going to run on here your mileage will definitely vary I probably you know if you're a big Saturn fan I wouldn't I wouldn't necessarily buy this for Saturn stuff because obviously you know it's going to be a bit Hit or Miss um all right so we've got good old PlayStation here PlayStation guy ah Crash Bandicoot that should do the job we can take a look at that I am curious to see what emulator this is running once again got a it's running duck station right out of the box interesting interesting so as you know duck station is a emulator that I have covered in depth on this channel because I'm a huge fan of it um so that's cool to see honestly you know I would rather like if I'm making a system duck station is the emulator I'm using like if you want to play your games ugly I meant to say like a different word there uglified or whatever like you can do that I'm not going to stop you from doing that but when I play PlayStation one I want to use something like Duck station because it's going to make the games look better and that's what I want you know I want things to look better once again kind of interesting that there is now uh border I mean seems Seems decent to me and I'm actually you know playing decently obviously I'm not grabbing all the the wampas Wampa fruits but we're not doing a a perfect run here but yeah this seems I mean it's kind of hard for me to tell because I can't really hear the audio all that well um because it it plays through like an external speaker on the monitor that I'm using but it sound from what I can hear it sounds fine so yeah okay all right so here's some Grand Turismo 2 the arcade disc and as you can see here we're not using duck station with this emulator because we have a border I don't know why but I mean it's running GT2 perfect and trust me this is a game I play a lot on uh on various devices I have I'm actually doing a run on it right now on one of my uh amber neck handhelds the um the remastered Edition that has some additional content in it but this is running perfectly as intended so you know I think PS2 or excuse me PlayStation one is actually pretty solid on this all right so let's take a look at PSP now there's no way those games are going to run good um I mean it does have you know a decent Library I guess I guess we'll just try it out you know we'll we'll see um I'm not not expecting the world out of this you know it's obviously kind of a bit of weaker Hardware um but we'll try it out and if it works then I'll just be pleasantly surprised we have a frames per second up in the upper corner so no questions to be asked about that if it's not running optimally we will know straight off the Jump I like that by the way because I probably should turn that on for all my systems so that way we know but let's get through some menus and we will hop into the game here and as I suspected um it's not optimal you know this is out of the box settings I can't imagine that I could get like a whole lot more performance out of this system as far as cleaning up that frame rate um we could try you know um let's see here H you know it's on open goo we've got autof frame skip on it's not um yeah you know we got no postprocessing on or anything like that it is at standard resolution you know um I I don't feel like we're going to be able to get anything really good I mean I guess we could do that and see if maybe that helps out a little bit no it appears that that made things worse all right yeah so I'm going to go ahead and say PSP if you're if you plan on buying this for PSP probably not the best idea in the world you know I'm 0 for two on this granted these are you know these are games that are a little bit extra taxing on the hardware but there also games that I think people would want to play on this so um I mean it said to try frame skipping you know maybe bump bump that up to six see if that helps things out a bit no I mean it's just well I mean it did make it a little bit better this car is just super slow but obviously I mean I mean honestly this is actually like not oh no they're still they're still slow on yeah I just I probably wouldn't mess with PSP on this unless you want to do some crazy frame skipping so let's just try Dreamcast and then we will wrap things up in this video all right so we have some Dreamcast running here youtube.com Dreamcast guy um this is running brilliantly actually so I I am I'm pleased with this I I love Dreamcast think it's an awesome system um obviously this was an earlier game but I mean it is a it it is one of the more demanding oh wait now we got a little we had a little slowdown there I did notice a little bit of slowdown let's see if we can uh replicate that oh okay we're on we're on to the next fight kids I must have chose some what mode did I choose anyways though I mean for the most part it seems to be running fine um so yeah I'm uh I I I like I like the Dreamcast performance I think it's it's solid um of course we could adjust some different settings here I do wonder how the the video is so it's got vsync on um it is running at a native resolution let's try to bump that up a little bit just just a little bit let's see if we can let's see if we can get away with that because that'll make it look nice and pretty no okay so when you start to upscale it it does get a little bit wonky but playing it at the native resolution I mean it doesn't look bad um you know overall like I said I'm kind of comparing this to other things you know that I have I obviously have a lot of different emulation related devices but for the $80 that I paid for this like I don't think it's it's bad what's up guys rgt from the future again I realized I only took a look at one Dreamcast game and I didn't like that I wanted to look at another I don't know why I only looked at one but we are taking a look at Sonic Adventure here one of my favorite Dreamcast games like ever because you know it was it was the first time we really got a a 3D Sonic game and it seems like it's running fine maybe a little bit off but you know for the most part it's fine you know we can mess around we can try to adjust some of the settings here as far as the controls are concerned and you know maybe upscale it a little bit let's see if we can make it a little bit prettier I don't really want to try um widescreen on this because I'm sure that probably won't work super well yeah like you know it it's performing fine decently obviously we've had remastered versions of this game after this so you know those are a little bit smoother than this but you know dreamcat seems to be running fine so you know for the price point that we're at on this system is it a perfect system no like the 3dio stuff is really wonky to me that I just can't really get it to work right and I don't understand why that is but you know it is what it is so don't buy this if you're a big 3dio fan um you know everything else though seems to perform about how I expected it it's not bad and if you're you know on a budget and you're just looking for for a cheap plug-and-play console you know at this price point I I don't think it's bad at all and worst case you know if you have a stronger computer um and you don't mind using your computer you can always take the games that are on this file system and you know put it into your PC so you know uh cuz it's all it's all done by that micro SD card anyway so a decent decent little system you know for the price point I think it's pretty good not perfect could use some work I I wish one of these companies would just team up with me give me a percentage of the funds and you know let me come up with the ideal system but not not bad I'll have a link to it in the uh description box down below if you want to check it out on Amazon it is an affiliate link let me know what you think of this system in the comment section down below however and as always guys thank you for checking out this video I know it was a bit of a longer one but I kind of wanted to get pretty indepth with this and as always I'll catch you guys on the next video later
