Cloning yourself in Davinci Resolve

[Music] [Music] [Music] hey everyone this is Christopher here with profe xmax and in this video I'm going to be showing you guys how to clone yourself in DaVinci Resolve now this may seem like a pretty tough procedure but actually it's very simple you just need to learn the techniques on how to do it and so that's what I'm going to be showing you guys today so without any further ado let's go jump into the video so here in DaVinci Resolve I have my clip got it and basically what it is is it is I just took one long clip of me running different places and so we're going to patch this up so here let's go ahead and zoom in here and play it out or say here okay there and as soon as I look down there that's good and go and trip it there let's drag this out a little bit because I want some room to work on this side and let's go click along - OH a little bit too far and that's probably enough we can all check it out later on this one's no long enough for the other then here I go to see over here and I just in my jacket and Here I am doing this okay so let's go to cut here so we have the first clip and then here we have just immediately Boop this is I can clip this from here I steal this bag here and actually let's go and cut it rise I'd go get up and then again up ok rise I look good so here we have is your mouth here with one click two and click through media Downey's seek all these together cell ask if you said room up here and let's go ahead and start doing that so let's go ahead and do this I do have a little technique for doing this I'll be showing you guys so to in order to basically view both of these I just hope a city down right here you both of the above it you know I think this guy okay no he adjusted it to the center of snapping let's do it so where he grabs it when he sets it down lesson I don't like that one a little bit more so that's pretty good let's go ahead and take in this clip set this opacity back to 100% and then take this a passing down basically what I wanted to do now is of course when he grabs the bag it says over there we're wanting to say these clips to where he'll grab it after he grip that step so he sets it down and then he okay I think these clips are synced up enough let's go and just go in let's just go do that now it's very important before this next step that all the clips are 100% opacity so it stays just to a hundred percent okay turn it up and then from here let's go and right click and make them all compound clips this will make sense to you in just a little bit okay so a compound clip and compound clip clip one clip you in clip sorry okay so let's just go and start off on the first one go and jump in the fusion page and then from here let's go ahead and I go to our effects Latifi not our media pool and here we have our three compound clips and these are trimmed perfectly so that's great let's go and grab clip two and then basically what we're gonna do here very simple just drop in to merge node and then mass use a mask on the merge node to a couple other guys out so probably the hardest part of this is going to be key frame to mask or definitely the hardest part of this whole thing is going to be key framing to mask and really that just takes time it's all okay here you have Buster's hands to get in the way you want check invert so both of your characters come back let's go driving a few more points here and drag it to where this guy had no it's not hands knocked off and let's go into a soft edge okay so here we want basically on the bag to be on this clip because he takes it and we dump in the bag is just still sitting here in this clip so just go hang over there and then at this point I don't think this pal comes into it at all if he does it's not very bad alright so this mask is done too right here but this is where it gets all here's where it gets tough because we're going to be having to keyframe out this movement okay so here the keyframe needs to be over here because because this person currently have it and of course you know if we go to this clip the bags there so I just go to play through this um you can see this mask is traveling over here because it wants to get there by this keyframe so let's just let's just not just at this point not just until we absolutely have to because we will in a second there and alright let's go to drag it back again oh okay it's almost kickoff again drag it back again you can tell there's a little bit of difference in the clips I doubt that's enough to really disturb things if you're working on a like professional studio yeah you wouldn't want gonna do this basically what we're worried about is it cutting him off see you can see the back seeing they're both clips so it doesn't really matter okay Wow that did not take long at all and now of course since it's now is switched over to this side um now the bag belongs to this clip or what we're seeing of it okay that's perfect so now we can work on the same clip just basically do the same process drop at another merge node and drag in the third clip okay so let's go and size this up a little bit then from here you're drag on a polygon node again draw a simple mask and then go and plug it in to merge two it's doing the what we want the first time except we I drew a mask way too far over so we're going to need to let's just go and keep this one up here because I never like to stand up or anything okay so oh goodness okay so this next part just consists of doing the keyframes just the exact same except this time the bag is already sitting there in this clip so basically we just need to do what we do it over there and just go and mask the clip out and I think this what this mask is like way too feathered there we go okay that's a little bit better we're gonna be having this here until this guy reaches over and then we're gonna gradually keyframe okay go to save your project so mom's just won't respond for to come and ask for some reason I say after that and then nope and then just hit play and let's go ahead and speed through it to the frame let's go to the frame okay you start you set down there which is good go on for more frame one more frame and just continue this way I'm just moving along three frames at once and okay he sets it down about right here which is good because that means we can just keep our master we don't have to like move our masks around more at least I hope not doesn't seem that I'll be that way they just hit the right arrow and move along okay actually moving along three frames it's probably not gonna do the best let's just go to skip along with our by clicking basically what we just need to start keyframe the mask is win this buster starts reaching over okay so let's just go skip over more at this point it's not really it's not really uh we don't really need to move this here okay so just a few frames we're gonna have to start key framing oh okay perfect okay so let's go and drop it a few more let's go yes here we want to move the long frame my frame or a few frames are she frames and here's a mistake I'll learn in the first one as soon as this guy grabs the bag just go drag all the way over here so that it's constantly right there because otherwise it'll have two bags kind of blending this is it's just so weird-looking so anyways um yeah let's go and click there okay so now let's grab the bag I guess the Sun was a little bit brighter there which is not good but uh yeah just just just try not to record it trying to record it was going to be Sun moving around I guess it did a little bit here okay and here is the last of our animation and if he doesn't go any of the frame anymore track down he does we'll see okay no he does not seem to then we are finished here we officially have all three of our boys in the same in the same room interacting with each other so that is how you close yourself so I hope you guys liked that video I hope it's helpful to you guys if you guys do like this
