[Music] yes guys welcome to my channel and welcome back to another video in this one I'm going to show you how to make pure liquid gold clarified butter this recipe is really easy and literally only requires butter so to get this started we're going to add our butter to a saucepan and I've recommend using unsalted butter just because in salted butter you don't actually know how much salts in it so when we're using the clarified butter in different dishes we can control the seasoning a lot better I'm going to put this onto a low to medium heat and we want to melt this butter slowly because you put it on a high heat the butter will start releasing a nutty flavor and in butter there's actually quite a lot of water so this process will separate the water and the milk solids from the pure butter fat and if you ever cook with just straight butter you'll notice that it would burn very quickly as it has a low burning point whereas this way we're taking out the milk solids which is what makes it burn so quickly leaving us with the pure butter fat which can be cooked at a much higher heat so as this starts to melt you start to see some white foamy stuff come to the top and this is the milk solids and that's the part that we want to remove and there's no specific amount of butter required to make this you can use as much or as little as you'd like every time I make this I usually use about 500 grams of butter just because I don't have much storage space and I don't like to have my fridge full of clarified butter and this way there won't be any wastage even though this does last about eight months in your fridge so now you'll start to see a lot of the milk solids coming to the top and this is good that's what you're after and every time I make this I tend not to stir this just because you'll mix the milk solids into the butter fat and it will take longer to separate at the end and it should take about five to seven minutes but it does it's a completely no so once your butter is fully melted we're going to take it off the heat so now this is off the heat a little trick that I like to do is with the back of a spoon just come through and gently skim the top and you'll notice that it will stick to the back of the spoon then watch it's no longer sticking to the spoon just carefully place the spoon in there and you'll notice the milk solids will jump right onto the spoon I'd be careful not to get too much of the butter fat in there because you don't want any wastage so we're then going to allow this to sit for about 15 minutes and during this time and the milk toilets will sink to the bottom then after 15 minutes the milk solids would have sunk to the bottom and there might still be a little bit around the edge but this is okay we're going to get it out well then going to very carefully pour the butter fat into a container then you'll notice once you get to a certain point you'll start seeing all of those milk solids at the bottom and as you can see there all of that white stuff that's the milk solids we don't want that in here as that's the part that burns [Music] this part can be a little bit tedious you're doing it properly definitely well worth the effort then once all you're left with is the milk solids going to get rid of this and now my left with pure golden butter fat then you'll notice there still be a little bit of the milk solids left in this here I have a coffee filter in another container you don't have to use coffee filters you can use cheesecloth or paper towel I'm just going to carefully pour this through and this will just separate those last remaining milk solids and I must admit using coffee filters isn't the fastest way but I do find it's the most efficient [Music] then once all that process is done you're left with this beautiful liquid gold pure clarified butter and all of the milk solids have been taken out so this can be cooked at a much higher heat if you're new around here consider subscribing I post three videos a week with recipes tips tricks and secrets and if you enjoyed this video and I was able to teach you something please hit that thumbs up button as it really helps my videos and my channel grow and if there's any recipes that you'd like to see me make just let me know in the comment section down below and I'll be sure to make them I hope you will have a fantastic day thanks again for watching bye for now [Music] [Music]
