in North America is this conference right here and this morning and I mean that because you guys are on fire and I love it this year the conference is a little bit like Jesus it's omnipresent it's everywhere and so as I'm speaking to you in this room I know that there are people in Houston and people in Baton Rouge and people like everywhere and churches around the world so I love technology I love that it can do that and I was here a couple of years ago live dropped in on the big screen last year but you know this is it's a delight I love your pastors I love this movement and you know it's a new day on the earth and the fact that I think our house at Hillsong and your house here at Antioch there's just such a synergy we're kind of like is we're connected and it is an exciting thing when that happens because I don't feel like a guest I feel like I'm just kind of like part of the extended teaching team and and that makes life a lot easier when that happens and you're not here and I tell you how I knew I knew in my preparation because I didn't pull out what I'm about to speak to you is not like a message it's a word because you normally don't come to big conferences like this and kind of just do something brand-new that you've never done anywhere but I just kind of feel the Lord's really specifically spoken to me about how to seal this but you normally do that when you're at home and you do it with your home crowd that's what I want you to know you know I do this for a living and so I was laughing even in my preparation this week going well it's just family and so I'm going to come and kind of be your big sister from Down Under is that all right and just kind of do all of that and I am here with my family the single most ravishing piece of masculine flesh on planet earth and remember we saw that that is the best video we need to put that on YouTube and make it go viral it is like hilarious and we all need to tweet it out and make it so you need to give me a link because I just like Australians love nothing more than laughing at themselves and so that is it's and we also call that a sign of incredible affection when you can actually say take the mickey out of someone when you can really just bag someone out and none of these sayings are gonna make any sense here but normally in America everyone gets highly offended I mean we've been living here for three years and I've had to keep my mouth shut because I think I offend everyone anyway but I'm thinking I'm complimenting you when I just am sarcastic but evidently that doesn't translate and so so my husband turned 46 yesterday was his birthday so there he is there and and I turned 47 tomorrow so I married a younger man today we're the same age so it's not the Cougar til next tomorrow and so what was that I was in our family where are we oh there we are he's hot been sleeping with him for 17 years and started the night I was married not before just in case you're wondering so um just thrown out there for free and and there is my firstborn Katherine Bobby and there's my little Sofia Joyce who my Saphir Joyce is here with me and she wants to do this is I know this is my speaking time so I'm gonna be very quick but she wants to do a 30-second little item for you is that all okay how you gonna come up she she asked me to do this so it's a gift okay so this is my little Sofia you got a camera Nik you can take a photo wake up a little video okay you ready you hold on solid first hey well get me a cold pop and I thought someone was barbecuing and I said Oh Lord Jesus it's fire and I ran out of that house I didn't grab no shoe [Applause] I don't know where she gets it from y'all that's the generation we're raising up I'm telling you maybe not the content but the boldness which I love I'm gonna get right into the word I think that I love that this is home away from her my firstborn is 11 going on 18 you know when they cross over from that to the next stage where all of you that might follow me know that I'm a little bit of an Instagram freak the reason I do that is because we live in America and I've got family in Australia and churches all around the world and so it's a great way I love the positive side of Technology everyone can keep up with you and they see my children growing up and our family growing up and so you know I love that positive side of social media so I so I do all of that you know I tweet a no Instagram and I Facebook but my first point she came up to me recently with a contract and it said it made me sign this disclaimer that I will never post an Instagram photo of her without her permission yes yes yes it did but apparently I'm not the only one that loves to upload pictures to Instagram or Facebook there are 250 million photos a day that are uploaded to Facebook and there are over 40 million a day uploaded to Instagram let alone everywhere else all of the other social media and so basically with camera phones with digital technology we just snap and upload and we just quickly put images out there and and and it this really great positive sides of that and you know it's it's a lot of fun to stay connected but it never used to be like that in my day because I am a dinosaur and like I said I'm probably old enough to be almost everybody's mother in this room now which is really scary and so I am back in my day there was no snap and upload I mean when the Polaroid camera came out that was like radical revolutionary technology because before that you had this then called film and then a film would have to go into a dark room on a stick with me some of you this is did happen in my lifetime and you go into this dark room and there would be chemical there'd be trays with chemicals in it and the only thing you had in that dark room was a tiny kind of a red infrared light and you would have to put the film in too many different trays of chemicals to allow the image to begin to be forged and formed and you could never open the door because if you prematurely open the door and a loud light to come in the image would be exposed it would be ruined you'd wreck the film you'd wreck the pictures and you wouldn't you know it would be just a whole waste of every picture that you took and so the goal was to stay in the darkroom and to keep the images in the darkroom for as long as possible to allow the image to be forged so that when that film and that image came out under the light it would not be exposed and destroyed because it had been developed appropriately in the darkroom very different to the world you and I are growing up in very very because our world is snap and upload and in fact I don't think anything depicts that better than the advent of the selfie and I just think it is amazing how we just want to sort of put our selfies out there and we want to make sure that it's our true authentic self so in order to project our true authentic self a spontaneous self we want to make sure that the right lighting is behind us the right angle is there and that the right filter and maybe sepia tinges on it to make sure that it is an authentic spontaneous moment that reflects accurately our best self and so since then what we have done is we I went online and I was astounded at the number of tutorials one can access on how to take selfies and most of those I can't show on a Sunday morning but there was one that was the advent of how to be instantly glamorous that I just thought for one minute we could share if you guys could put that up that's a sick one so as a video blogger I'm what most would call an expert at taking selfies why because vlogging is the ultimate selfie think about it I'm not just taking one image of myself I'm approx taking 24 every second so in an average video let's say that's about three and a half minutes long I will have taken five thousand and forty selfies so how do you do it how do you take the best selfies well wonder no longer because I'm about to take you from Instagram to instant glam let's do it wouldn't study up yourself do you want to make sure you're in the right environment bathrooms can work for like a mirror shot or something but you do want your followers to think that you've just taken a poo because poo is so not instant glam instead head on outside you want to make your followers think that you go outside and do things even if that is far from reality as is the case with me now that we're outside find yourself some foliage or a shrubbery and turn away from it so it's in the background of your shot remember kids nature is instaglam why do you think because of salads get way more likes than pictures of pizza it's because salads are natural nature equals Instagram now comes the difficult part the pose this is by far the most important step in going from Instagram to Instagram okay there are those out there that believe that a filter can fix a bad pose this could not be further from the truth a filter can only enhance an image it cannot fix it that's like saying a nice paint job can fix a bad car that's not it's not how it works okay when posing myself for a picture I have a mantra that I repeat to myself over and over that I'd like to share with you and it's this what would connor franta do okay then I had to stop it there because you didn't want to know where that went and so what I just thought was so funny about that was let's go outside and create an artificial reality so that everyone thinks that I'm having a really great time even though I'm really not but it doesn't matter because I could just project an image out there and then you can determine how many likes I get because how many likes I get make me feel better about myself or not better about myself and I spend my whole life you know creating a virtual world and leaving my real world to go into this virtual world so that this virtual group of people that I don't even know will me because the more they like me the better about me I will feel and then you end up creating this whole caricature of yourself based on who this invisible audience is that presses how many likes you've got and you try to get more likes and you like getting more likes and you want to be more liked and then we forget that we're here to be like God because we want to be liked by man and so we forget what the whole deal is all about and we get into this whole facade because we want to project an image out there really quick and if I can just project the right image then everyone is going to not only like me but think I'm something that I may or may not be but the thing that I've discovered is the way God builds destiny the way God builds character the way God builds Our Lives is not this kind of instant snap and upload that we have in our 21st century it's far more like it was in the 20th century in the Dark Ages that God loves to take us into a dark room that he loves to put us through a whole process where his image is forged on the inside of us so that when we come out of that dark room and into the 21st century spotlight interconnected world that we live in that that image won't be marred that that image won't be ruined that we will run our race and finish our course and if our generation does not understand the value of allowing God to build in us his character his nature and his image before we step out and try to do great exploits for him then we won't make it Daniel says that those who know their God shall do great exploits not those that are gifted or those that are talented or those that are excited but those that know their God anybody that's still in their 40s and 50s and 60s is doing anything significant for God knows God it's way beyond gift or talent by this stage you've got to know God to do what you're doing you've got to allow the character and nature of God to be forged on the inside of you so really what is it that I've come to talk to you about two years ago I talked to you about taking risks about the great things that God's doing with the a21 campaign and there is no doubt you know only five years old officers in ten countries dozens of traffickers in jail hundreds of girls rescued thousands multiplied thousands assistent millions of people in ten different nations at the highest levels across television across schools across universities being informed and educated we've just signed an agreement with the Thai government we have the Vietnamese Foreign Minister coming to our head office here in America and we've got an unbelievable opportunity because of the one-child policy in China they killed so many 20 million plus young girls when they were born said that they could have boys and so now 20 years later and 25 years later all those boys have grown up and there's no girls and so they're trafficking from that whole Mekong region millions of girls and so now the government's are freaking out because they're losing they can't deny this they're losing millions of girls and don't know what to do and so we've signed a agreement with them to help that whole process and then you have the underground church that theoretically doesn't exist in Vietnam and because when people are desperate desperate measures require desperate things we've got this fantastic I just have to be careful because I just realized we're all over at this great opportunity to forge a bridge between government and church and that's never ever been done before so that we can see girls rescued and see things turned around I mean it is amazing what God is doing amazing and I could get you all up on your feet shouting and cheering with all of that and to God be the glory because it is incredible but my deal is with this generation it's not that there's not a willingness or an excitement but if we do not understand the process to destiny we're not going to see it outworked I'm standing before you at 47 and I started when I was 22 I started the age of most people in this room and I want to talk to you about what it was like and to start at 22 and to be just stepping into some of the things that were prophesied over my life 25 years ago because it's interesting when you sense a call or you have a prophetic word that there's a long long process between that happening and the actual dream and destiny coming to realization and because you and I live in this virtual real time world we can sometimes think that destiny is out worked in real time now time but it's artwork over time and because we are not used to the process of time many of us step out of the race because we think God isn't quick enough we don't think we think I've got they came to world mandate I've got this word from God I've been so inspired by louia been so inspired by Pastor I've been so inspired by the speakers yesterday God spoke to me I know what I'm supposed to do I'm going to solve global human trafficking I'm going to plant a church and then we just think it should happen by tomorrow or it should happen by the next week and if it doesn't we think somehow we either miss God or we give up on God and we walk away and then it's alright because when I started there were thousands like this at 22,000 of us would come on altar calls Here I am Lord send me I Ranna a movement called youth alive in Australia stadiums of young people and we would come out and go Here I am Lord and everyone was so excited and that was awesome and you get so serious and and and you know if you're a young woman you like further I'm never gonna compromise I just want the man of God the one the elite lint chocolate one that you have for me I'm never going to compromise and there's thousands of you then you kind of get to about 25 haven't been on a date for three years because you're am driving 14-year olds to youth group and your friends are now kind of getting married and you're like looking around and you come out on an altar call if I was to come here three years from now and there's not thousands anymore this kind of hundreds and at twenty five you still ok Here I am Lord send me I'll do anything I'll go anywhere I'll serve you you know father and and I'll never compromise but you know instead of the one maybe maybe just send me a Christian one so now we've gone to Hershey's more options not just Lynch and so then we go awesome and then you get to about 28 29 all you've been doing is driving kids to youth group for years you've been on $60 a week little stipend yeah your friends the buying investment properties and having great grandchildren and you're like awesome how many the men on a date don't even have I'm still a woman awesome so now you go on to an altar call and there's not thousands anymore that's not hundreds is like a few dozen if I had stayed you like God Here I am I still go anyone do anything just want to send me a mail just man just man then you get 247 and you look around and go wow what where where is everyone I don't know what happened where are the thousands under 22 said Here I am Lord I didn't know that I was signing up until I got the husband I didn't know I was signing up to follow Jesus until I had the kids I didn't know I was signing up until I got the house I didn't know that I was using Jesus to get a good lifestyle I didn't know I thought when I said I'll follow you it meant on the way whatever happens if I get married we're still following you if I have kids we're still following you when I turned 47 I'm still following you you don't get to a point and settle because I never just sold out to a lifestyle I sold out to a person and I made a covenant that I would drop my nets and follow and at every stage of our life he says what nets are you going to drop now and when you choose to drop those net you're hanging on to a safety of comfort of convenience the sound of those Nets dropping thunders in heaven and God says I could probably still use you because you're dead enough but if you don't learn to die at 22 and 23 you not gonna be dead at 47 oh it sounds romantic at 47 sounds inspirational at 47 walkers okay leading what probably now is the largest only trafficking organization in the world speeches speaks all around the world and we love that and we get enamored by that in you too can be a hero like Chris Kane but God didn't ask us to have heroes and this is what I think the fundamental issue with the church is that we all want to be a hero and the only way we can activate this generation is to indulge their narcissistic self-indulgent self-absorption which says I want to be a hero and God says I don't want heroes jesus said would you pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborous God does not want heroes he wants laborers in our generation and we've got a generation that wants to be a hero for God but doesn't want a laborer for God and until we get a generation that is willing to labor in the dark room in anonymity in obscurity and applauded unaccepted and wanted unrecognized until you can learn to live without it you'll never learn to live with it you'll be killed by all of the adulation of the spotlight if you don't learn to live outside of it and we have a general I know that you get really happy me preaching this in this Presbyterian conference but I'm just saying this is the stuff that'll keep you in a generation that is snap and upload look at what I've done look at what I am look how great I am gods go whoa whoa where is a generation that is willing to be molded not sitting down singing Kumbaya all God forged your image in me but willing to labor that his image may be forged in them if we would understand the power of laboring if we would understand that we are invited by the creator of the universe to co labor he says am i enough that you would step into my work and co labor with me the god of the universe No not me to fulfill your dream would you Co labor in my harvest field with me is my harvest enough is my field enough he's cold laboring with me enough apparently not for our generation apparently not because if it was there would be no issue all of us with God's dreams in our heart would be rolling up our sleeves and serving in our local church whatever that job is whatever that job is it would be the whatever ministry because labourers don't tell their boss what they want to do they just hammer now they turn up and go I'm here for work today I'll sweat today I'll labor today but we go no I want to be the divine architect of my destiny I want to be the manager of the project Oh God needs me and God says no I just need you to labor the greatest greatest thing that this generation needs to learn is the power of go laboring with the creator of the universe in his harvest field we don't need any more dreams we don't need any more I've come to change the world we don't need any more heroes we just need some good old-fashioned laborers that are willing to roll up their sleeves and labor for the kingdom of God that's what we need that's what we need but our world is all about me getting the accolades I see it I see it because I've watched it and you got to understand I'm a church girl I'm not a justice girl I'm a Jesus girl so justice is part of what Jesus does but I'm a local church girl through and through never changed in my life and what we don't get is like I want to do something great for God and God says awesome labor in my harvest with me build what I'm building the church but we want a big wall I want to be the next Martin Luther King jr. I want to be the next Joan of Arc I want to be the net and I'm like why we had one God's not looking for the next PJ I'm not even after my message here so how about we just go to where I'm going my text that was all by way of introduction that was not in my notes so I told you today this is family I'll be really slick at all the other conferences I go to this isn't sleek this is as if I'm talking to us and so what happens is the dark rooms of delay disappointment challenges failure loneliness separation of the very things that burn the light of Christ in us and cause the image of Christ to be forged in us so that when he brings us out the spotlight won't kill us this generation wants celebrity and spotlights nothing will kill you quicker than the spotlight nothing which is why you see so many gifted and talented people that don't make it because gift and talent will get you in the room but only your character will keep you in the room there's a whole lot more gifted and talented people than me but at 47 the only difference between me and them is I'm still here and God has run out of options like tag you're it there's nobody else I promise you I wish you would know how much truth there is in that I'm just like you don't only have to outlast the devil you can just outlast most other Christians because once they don't get the applause and the accolades and the what they perceived to be the rewards there's some of us and gods like oh god no other options well there you go and then you will think we're a big deal and I'm like nah just didn't quit just didn't quit that's the only difference between us and them that's all it is so I'm gonna talk to you because I'm at the end of the conference beginning for some of you but this will help you to and I'll give you some text and some scripture so you don't get nervous and so in all of that is um I'm gonna talk to you about how you get from here to there wherever there is because you gotta get to where she is that's there and I'm like well it's here for me so wherever your there is because someone else is here there is only one there and that's when we go home and my job is to take as many people from here there and so there is no I've got there while there's still breath in my lungs while my heart still beating while Bloods still pumping through my arteries and veins that means God's still got a plan that means I've got to take a whole lot more people home with me so I'm not worrying about where do you get there while I'm here because I'm still here until I'm there the only there are more about is when I get home until I get there I'm taking everyone here that I can there with me that's what this whole deal is about that's really what it's all about there is no there there is no there here there's just here here so acts 13:22 when the Lord was looking for the next king for the new king of Israel how did he do that I love acts 13:22 the Bible says after removing Saul he made David their King he testified concerning him imagine having God testified concerning you I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart he will do everything I want him to do I want you to catch this because this is what I believe the Holy Spirit's doing in this room this morning God says I have found a man after my own heart don't lose this God's not just looking for people with a heart after him he's looking for his own heart he's looking for his own heart I have found David a man after my own heart not after me after my own heart God's looking for a generation whose heart will beat for what his heart beats for not for a heart after God per se but his own heart second part of that he will do everything I want him to do not I will do for him what he wants me to do not he's gonna tell me his dream and then my job as his sugar daddy is to drowned his dream because that's how we sell it here Oh God will give me the desires of my heart yes he will if your heart is after his heart but what we want is to use God like a sugar daddy I'm gonna give you some noble great exploit God and you can bless me to do that for you because who you need me because if you make me famous and I'm at the Grammys I'm gonna have 35 seconds to go bless Jesus even if I live like hell the rest of the year but able to say to God be the glory and g-god you really need me to make you famous and if all these celebrities but say Jesus is awesome that's gonna be so good for God's reputation I'm like honey God does not really need a celebrity to make him greater than he already is celebrities need Jesus not to go to hell that's really what this whole deals about just in case you're wondering just in case you're wondering I am certainly not enamored by all of that and we have that whole culture in the church there's this somehow God is going to become greater if we do him a favor and he's like well I'm looking for someone that's got my own heart I'm not even looking for gift or Talent you don't need to show it off you don't need to have to send in your resume you don't you what you do need is to make sure that this thing's working because I will talk all day it just says critic with a cross through it so I don't know what that means it means I've got four hours more awesome so that's what that means oh lord have mercy I've got twenty minutes let's go everyone pray in tongues right now this is dude and if you don't it would be a great time to get filled with a spirit right this second okay so just moving right along I never told you whether I do or not I'm just asking about you First Samuel 16 First Samuel 16 then the Lord said to Samuel ong will you mourn for Saul since I've rejected him as king over Israel fill your horn with oil and be on your way I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem I have chosen one of his sons to be king but Samuel said how can I go so we'll hear about it and kill me the Lord said take a heifer with you and say I have come to sacrifice to the Lord invite Jesse to the sacrifice and I will show you what to do you are to anoint for me the one I indicate Samuel did what the Lord said when he arrived to Bethlehem the elders of the town trembled when they met him and they asked do you come in peace Samuel replied yes in peace I've come to sacrifice to the Lord consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice when they arrived Samuel saw Aliyah and thought aren't we the generation that sees and thinks sure the Lord's anointed stands here before him but the Lord said to Samuel do not consider his appearance or his heart for I rejected him the Lord does not look at the things man looks at man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart they Jesse called the Beeman our dad that's the case for tongues right there and had him pass in front of Samuel but Samuel said the Lord has not chosen this one either Jesse then had Sharma passed by but Samuel said nor is the Lord chosen this one Jesse had seven of his sons passed before Samuel but Samuel said to him the Lord has not chosen these so he asked Jesse are these all the sons you have there is still the youngest Jesse answered but he's tending the Sheep Samuel said sent for him we will not sit down until he arrives so he sent and he had him brought in he was riding with a fine appearance and handsome features then the Lord said rise and anoint him he is the one so Samuel took the Horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers and from that day on it in the Spirit of the Lord came upon David in power samuel then went to rama so here somewhere between the age of 15 and 17 david's anointed to be king that's where the anointing happens and we'll exegete that text in a moment but you've got to go twenty chapters later and 15 years later to hear these words in 2nd samuel chapter 5 verse 1 all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said we are your own flesh and blood in the past while Saul was king over us you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns and the Lord said to you you will Shepherd my people Israel and you will become their ruler when all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron the King made a compact with them at Hebron before the Lord and they anointed David king of Israel David was 30 years old when he became King anointed of 15 a pointer to 30 we don't like the gap between the anointing in the appointing and most of us never get appointed because we've never stuck around long enough between the moment we were anointed and decades later when God wants to appoint us and what I'm gonna do is just talk to you for a few moments on that process between anointing and appointing the process between being cold and being activated the process between having a sense of God wanting me to do something and how that is out worked in life because it's out worked far more in the dark room of betrayal of offense of hurt of long-suffering that's where the image of Christ is forged in us so the God can do what he wants to do through us it's not the snap and Instagram picture put up thank God that David did not take a selfie at 15 and post it on Instagram and go fool next king of Israel because he would have been mocked for the next 15 years because that's what we like to do o put our selfies this is what God said to me this what I'm gonna be I'm gonna be that now I don't want to serve your vision because of God's taught me what I'm gonna do and it's my vision I know I'm not gonna come and serve in church what do you mean I am God's anointed I'm gonna go serve in the choir I am the next job Houston to the body of Christ and if Pastor had any sort of prophetic utterance he would just point me out in the crowd and he would just prophesy over me and I would just levitate across the floor and I would just come to here and I would just begin to bless the world with my voice but go to choir rehearsals and serve what do you mean what do you mean turn up every week and put our chairs what do you mean what do you mean that I should go and pick up people with my own gas money and make my own phone calls and and bring them to church I mean I'm called to be an evangelist it's amazing to me how there is such a disconnect such a disconnect on call to go and rescue the victims of human trafficking but right here in Antioch we've got a whole no no I don't want to serve that because I've got my own and I'm just gonna go start my own 501c3 and I'm just going to go and do it myself because God spoke to me and we have such a disconnect between how destiny is outworked because in this nation with the cult of the self-made man and the self-made woman and I got to do it my way and I've got to be front and center and I've got to be slow we have zero understanding of what it is to come under what it is to serve do you don't want to know why God's anointed me do you want to know why I'm still doing what I'm doing by God's grace at this point of 47 married two kids I'll tell you why it's not my gift on my talent ultimately God and I know this it's because I've been planted in one church for 25 years I've been submitted to one pastor for 25 years and not I can not just turn up and pretend I'm blessing Hillsong with my presence I'm talking it has been tested I have been corrected I've been disciplined I have been for seven years I didn't preach in our church seven years just brought kids to church put our chairs cleaned and then another seven years served in the youth center and in our youth movement with a sense of destiny sense of Nations but most of us are not willing to go back to our local church and begin to serve not understanding that 99 percent of our destinies will be outworked within the context of our local church particularly if you're in a life-giving spirit filled Church that will help to activate and develop the gifts of God in us God isn't looking for Heroes he's looking for laborers in churches and then he'll do what he wants to do I'll show you where this goes first thing you all have to understand is that God chooses God chooses he says I have chosen in verse one I've chosen for myself I wish we would understand in the sovereignty of God God does not choose everyone to do everything he chooses everyone to do something and we can all do what we want to do it is not our choice we do not tell God what we want to do God has chosen no one job is more important than the other but God sets every member in place as he sees fit what we have confused is we think that the 40 minutes on this platform or we think the things that are visible are the most important and yet Corinthians teaches us to the core that that's not the stuff that really matters that the stuff that makes my body operate you can't see and we're so enamored by what we can see that we devalue what you can't see and there are so many displaced and misplaced members in the body of Christ simply because they won't embrace their place because the place is not a prominent place and they don't like the place God has set them in and God can't use us because it's about his body it's about his church it's not about my career it's not about me being a hero he sets us in place and our job here let me just tell you it's not about being applauded their measure of my effectiveness as a minister is not exactly how good or how many likes you give me it's whether you are mobilised to be and do the work of the ministry that's all these platforms value is for that the Saints would be trained and equipped to do the work of the ministry in a lost in a broken world and if we are just applauding a gift mix we've missed at all and it's because of the world the instaglam world that we live in Jesus says be in it but not of it and we brought that whole spirit into the church and a celebrity culture and a hero culture and Jesus is is that not enough that I was a hero 2,000 years ago can you not just serve the one true hero Chris Kane I don't need you to be a hero I need you to be a servant and a laborer is that enough well it is for me this is for me and so what we have to understand is that God chooses and you got to trust God this comes back to trusting that God is good and God does good and what God chooses for us is the best you will never be satisfied with anything that doesn't have your name on it if you're trying to do something that has someone else's name on it you will be frustrated there is a lane for you there is a race for you and if you keep trying to pursue somebody else's you will never be satisfied and you won't make it because you are not given enough grace to run someone else's race you are only given enough grace to run your own race so don't set it up as these are the worthy jobs and these are the worthy heroic tasks because our Pakistan brothers and sisters that were martyred today 57 of them in church the shopping center that was emptied in Kenya of just leave Christians in there and kill it let me just tell you when the rewards are being handed out in glory are they gonna get far greater than me I've got a whole lot more applause here on earth it always worries me with the applause that I get I have to go and looking for things to do that nobody knows because every time you applaud that's it my rewards done done be very careful how much you want to be out here getting applauded gods God G Chris hope you enjoyed that because that was all you're getting an eternity is a lot longer than time so I'm not that enamored with all of that if we would only understand if we were willing to be laborious in that is the fulfillment of God within the context of our churches I've never disconnected from church and regardless of how you may or may not know me externally I've never disconnected Nick and I are totally submit and that is where the strength is yes we abide in the vine Jesus but we abide in his church and through that comes the covering and the protection and the strength to do what God has called us to do we have to fall in love with the church in this nation we have to fall in love with being a laborer there's no higher honor than laboring for Jesus and so let's get in our lane and I want you to understand and for the sake of time let me rush through this did you see that when the Prophet came the Prophet came and he said to Jessie consecrate your sons and come in there would have been a hashtag sacrifice festivities that's what it would have been because the party was happening the party was happening to anoint the next king of Israel the only problem is David was not invited to his own party you ever been scrolling through Instagram or scrolling through Twitter and you realize you're the only one not invited to the party and it makes you feel better how whole moods can change based on what social media says and you're serving faithfully where God has placed you but you stop scrolling through you see hash tag sacrifice festivities I'm not invited and everything in you wants to leave your assignment because you want to be part of the cool crowd and you want to be invited into everything I think David was very blessed that he had no access to social media because he had no clue the party was happening the party that he was going to be the guest of honor at in God's timing so he just continued to be faithful in his assignment so many of us leave our sermons or never embrace Harris simon's because we want to be at the party and we want to market ourselves and we want to be seen at all the right places and here is all my invites and here's all the right things and here's my credentials and I mean I've been told to promote myself and I've been told and we've written books in this nation how to build my own platform I'm thinking I know is there anyone not scared about all of that does anyone not read Genesis that when they tried to build a name unto themselves God doesn't like it like he kills you and so I'm like like really it's not cool it's been all the way through scripture I think it's the biggest biggest lure of this generation that we want to build a name for myself I want to build a brand for myself and God sound like he can hear unto my brand and that's gonna make him look really good and I'm thinkin he take kills people for that sort of stuff so my whole deal my whole deal is the party's happening he's not invited I don't know how you might feel you might feel in this place this morning after all these sermons that you've been overlooked that you're on applauded that there's a party happening and you're not even there and no one sees you serving in your youth ministry no one sees you serving no one sees what you're doing and you want to leave your assignment because you want the lure of the big stuff and I love God because he's Jesse parading his sons here is Samuel sees Ely AB and thinks this is the man of God see even the Prophet can get it wrong even the father of the house can get it wrong but honey you got to know God never gets it wrong sometimes we think I'm in the wrong place and what if my pastor doesn't notice and what if they don't it's all right God notices if you're serving in the nursery if you're serving at youth if you're doing what you're supposed to be doing it's okay because god I want you to know in the day of Instagram instagrams Facebook's likes tweeting retweeting we grabbing God notices where he assigned you he knows even if everybody else doesn't and you're like man I'm gonna miss that job opportunity man I'm gonna miss that ministry opportunity I need to market myself David is doing what he needs to be doing he's learning to kill she-bears he's learning to kill lions he is faithful to his assignment he's learning to develop his music skills and he doesn't care everyone else is being paraded and the prophets got it wrong in the father of the it's got a run but this is what God will do God will stop the party because the man says I've not chosen I've got chosen I've not chosen knock yourselves out parade yourselves away but I've marked my man and you can market all you want but it is better to be marked by God than marketed by man because when you are marked by God God will elevate you God will do that I know it's hard for this generation to believe it I'm living proof of it so he stops the party and say misters we're gonna stand here Nicky imagine you and you like just standing there like how embarrassing and there not only that what God will do is he'll send the ones that tried to keep you out of the party to the field to get you it's like so poetic justice oh you're trying to jockey you're trying to why don't you just go get the boy Jesse had a king in his house and didn't even know it if you're a ministry leader and listening to me I wonder how many kings you've got in your house and you're overlooking them because you're too busy looking at the obvious looking at who's the gifted looking at who's the talented and we're overlooking the God choice because we're looking si le AB saw and thought how long this generation is obsessed seeing and thinking because we're so image based well they got the right credentials they got the right gift they're in the right place we see and think and we see and think wrong we need to see and think with the eyes in the heart and the mind of God God still built his church how he's always built it no matter what generation we live in and we have to be careful we are not alowed in a marketing culture to not understand anointing and God's marking and God's timing so he comes in let me fast-track all of this he comes in and he's anointed his father didn't even remember his name the youngest is over there at least he knew he'd be faithful I wonder if God came to find you whether because God's not gonna come where you are he's gonna come to the place where he's assigned you and most of us we leave our place of assignment because it's not glamorous enough and then God turns up to appoint to us in our place of a Simon and we're not there so he can't and he's not gonna come chasing us in our Ruby and I'm talking about appointing for destiny now I'm not talking about grace and love and forgiveness I'm talking about appointing for destiny so stay very specific to what I'm talking about and so a lot of us miss it because we're not in our place of assignment people got to me where did you come from I'm like you wouldn't have wanted to be where I've been for the last 25 years in anonymity and obscurity overlooked and mistreated because that's where the image of God is forged in you and God says can I trust you in the dark room not to abort not to leave can I trust you that when everyone else is being promoted when everyone else is being activated will you stay in your place of assignment because first impressions don't always count contrary to our culture they don't always count it always will be the heart and let me tell you this sometimes I think God just looks at the heart he says man looks at the outward appearance so I understand how would appearance it's not irrelevant you've got to be the best you that you could be you give the God the best to work with intellectually emotionally physically because although God looks at the heart he is the only one honey you're all looking at my boots not my heart so the point is it's not about that but when it comes to destiny and promotion God looks at the heart this is why not because he's like weird but because he loves you he loves you too much to allow you to come out too soon and be exposed he our heart will take us to our destiny the Bible says in proverbs chapter 4 verse 23 guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flow all of the issues of life if you've got a bit of heart you'll have a bit of life you got a toxic heart you'll have a toxic life you've got an offended heart you'll have an offended life you've got a joyful heart you'll have a joyful life you've got a loving heart you'll have a loving life you got a gracious heart you have a gracious like the condition of your heart the heart is the seat of your destiny not your gift or talent your gift and talent will get you in the room your heart will keep you in the room I come from 12 years of abuse tomorrow my 47th birthday I was left 47 years ago in a hospital unnamed and unwanted in Australia I had a damaged heart I had a heart of rejection a heart of insecurity a heart of shame a heart of guilt a heart of fear a heart of condemnation that heart was taking me to my destiny still give still talent it but my heart would have sabotage my destiny now had I not been in the dark room where God could do in Ezekiel 36 supernatural exchange take out my heart of stone and put in his heart of flesh and begin to bring a change in transformation it's not my gift that's keeping me here today people it's my heart and God says I love you too much the heart is the seat of your passion otherwise all you will need is hype to keep you going unless you understand that your heart has to be internally regulated by the Spirit of God not externally motivated by what's going on around you it's your heart that will keep you there it's only your heart this is not some sort of little feel me touch it chick sermon this is life and death this is the difference between all the prayers you've prayed over the last three days coming to fruition or not it's your heart David was anointed but his heart God said okay now you got to grow to where you have to go you've got twenty chapters you've got 15 years because I've got to mold your heart David so when I appoint you you're gonna stay there even when you blow it you're gonna be able to stay there and a lot of us can't stay there because we've not allowed God to do the work in our heart so now as God takes us a 21-10 nations and great visibility around the world it's my heart that keeps beats those secret places with God I've been out of my gift zone for years I haven't known what I'm doing nothing will take you down to your knees quicker than anything they're not knowing what you're doing so my thing is that until you and I've liked preached nothing that I've got here so I hope you enjoyed it so until you do this this is what I want to finish with really until you understand there's a process from anointing to appointee and God looks at the heart not because he's like I don't like all this it's because it's the only thing that's going to keep us listen to me it's the only thing that's going to keep us selfish ambition will destroy this generation Philippians says do nothing out of selfish ambition and so much of what we clothe either our social justice cause or our God causes why more isn't happening is because we really want to be the hero of our own story if we went truly deeply into our heart and Jesus says could I be the hero am i enough is my church enough if you're anonymous if you're obscure if you're unemployed it if you're not credited if you're unwanted David can you do that in the field David can you be there while everybody else is being marketed will you be there because listen David the Spirit of God and his power is coming upon you but this is what's got to happen he got anointed and then what happened he went back to the Sheep to be faithful because then he was called into soul service in the palace to play music to soul to soothe him when their evil spirits were upon him thank God because he didn't know that down the track he was going to write so many of the Psalms but God brought him into the palace so he could learn the protocol of the palace cos one day he was going to be the King see some of us we want to instantly be the king but he had to come in as a servant to learn the protocol of the palace and then he would go back to his father's sheep and then he was back at his father's sheep and because he was in his assignment it was from the Sheep of Simon that he was given the lunch of Simon so the lunch point is who killed Goliath he wasn't in the army he wasn't front and center he was the lunch point but then when he killed Goliath he still wasn't appointed Goliath led him to lead the army what did the army do for him while he was a great leader he showed off his gift and tell him what that did was sparked off his Kings jealousy now remember the Spirit of the Lord had already left the King David was already anointed to be king our generation would say I'm anointed you're not your old job finished I'm the new thing David was still in the process see when Samuel came in Samuel was looking for the next soul God was waiting to a pact appoint a new king this generation wants the next of whoever went before us and God says I'm not looking to do the old thing that I've just done in a new wineskin I'm looking to do a new thing in a new wineskin I'm not looking for the next soil I'm looking for a new king Ely AB has got the same heart a soul and I don't want that heart I want a brand new king God saying to this generation I'm not looking to do what I've already done in a younger body I'm not looking for the next of anyone I'm looking for a new king that would have a heart after me and that would do what I've called him to do that would not only play music in the palace to learn the protocol of the palace that will not only be the lunch boy to learn how to kill a giant we see there what he did in private because what you do in private will be manifest in public obviously he'd killed a bear in a sheep because he could take out the Giant and he knew his strength was him David he said then I'm gonna put you over the army and you're gonna be rejected by your king and people are gonna say that you are fantastic and you're gonna have the applause of man very early but it's not my timing to appoint you yet so I'm gonna see what you do with the accolades of man while your boss is trying to kill you because everybody else is saying you are ten thousand times better than your boss oh then you're going to become best friends with Jonathan the son because I need to teach you how to be a son in the palace I need to teach you the protocol of how it works to be a son and then you were going to run away oh then what you're gonna have to do is learn how to lead those that are discouraged those that are in debt those that are in disillusion in the cave of a dull him you're gonna learn what it is to hide in darkness because I've got a mold of my image in you oh yeah that's all the time while I've anointed you in the presence of your brother's to be king and the Spirit of the Lord has left the king but David I want to see what you're going to be like in the dark room as my image is forged more and more on you because I've got a lot for you to do and I've got a chick that's gonna be talking about you several thousand years from now somewhere in Texas and so I need that image to be forged in you I'll hang on a minute that's not enough then what I need to make sure you do you get a chance to kill the Lord's anointed while he's dropping a little leak but that's not gonna happen say well guess what I'm gonna do I'm gonna see if you're gonna do it not just once but twice oh I can trust you with that then I'm gonna see if your flesh is gonna react no no you're gonna listen to Abigail okay so you're not gonna vindicate yourself you're gonna allow me to vindicate you great I know that I can trust you I can see that my image is being forged in you that's right you're in anonymity you're in obscurity you think I've forgotten you but in here is where I'm training you every decision that you make oh that's right all your men are gonna turn against you at Zeke leg and they're going to want to stone you I want to see David are you gonna learn to encourage yourself in the Lord because when you're a king you're gonna be very alone you better learn in anonymity and obscurity to encourage yourself in the Lord because you'll be doing that quite a lot oh hang on a minute I'll give you half the kingdom for seven and a half years that's right half the kingdom while you know that all those years ago you're anointed for the whole kingdom will you serve faithfully will you continue to honor me will you continue to allow my image to be fortunate to you ah that's right now you're 30 15 years later finally you are dead enough you are faithful enough you are loyal enough you are committed enough you have shown me that you've got my heart you have done everything I wanted you to do now you are appointed as king now I will appoint you as king there is a gap between anointing and appointing and if our generation would understand I believe there is greatness but the greatness is the seed the sperm the divine sperm of the Holy Spirit of God on the inside of all of us it's him that's great and he says have I got a generation that is willing to die enough to allow my image to be forged in there so that they would know me because those that know me will do great exploits and I pray I pray that the fruit of this gathering should the Lord tarry is that we would look down on this and go God we saw a generation of young people in America that won't like instant snap and upload let me say God whatever it takes however long it takes I want your image forged in me in the dark room I'm not looking to be a Christian celebrity or a Christian hero father I I'm just willing to be a colabro I go labrum Jesus you said 2,000 years ago you would build your church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church of the Living God causes common causes go nations rise and nations fall governments come and governments go economic systems come and economic systems go but the Church of Jesus Christ shall prevail he says can I have Labour's that will build my church and as we build his church the gates of Hell shall not prevail so my call this morning was not for celebrities or world changes it's not for Heroes it's not for social justice activists it's for labors laborers who are willing to be prepared in the field and who are still old-school enough to believe the promotion doesn't come from the north south east or west for promotion comes from God and it's God that opens doors that no man can shut and God that shuts doors that no man can open that in our world of mass marketing in our world of mass media in our world of instant technology and social media do we still trust that God is God do we still trust if we are unemployed unacknowledged unseen that God sees us there God acknowledges that goddess signs us and that God will promote us when it's his time are you willing to bow a knee in gethsemane to say nevertheless not my will but thine more than any other prayer in my life has been that one while I'm still standing here today more than anything else is because I've said more often than not I don't want to do this but nevertheless for the sake of you kingdom and the sake of your bride not my will but thine you go a long way with a knitter the list sprayer you got long way so if you're willing to do that and I pray to God you do not stand up if you don't then I'm believing that God is going to mark you'll never need to market I can't promise you how long the gap will be between anointing and the Poynting but I promise you this you'll be marked sealed to see it with a mark of God and if you're faithful in your assignment he'll come and find you and he'll Commission if you're willing to do that I just want you to stand to your feet wherever you are I'm gonna pray one prayer of faith of you [Music] it's a holy moment I'm so believing for a generation of marked anonymous Cola Burris lovers of the church that don't go to him with our dream don't go to him with our destiny desire but that have a heart after his own heart and we will be obedient to do what he's called us to do so father I'm a little bit overwhelmed I don't know that I thought this meeting would Stan but I pray in the name of Jesus Christ by the power of your Holy Spirit that you truly in this moment would take the hot iron of you branding iron and literally into the soul and spirit of every person you would mark them as yours
