okay so there is this buzzword that is becoming more and more popular in certain Christian circles and that is the word manifest and if you are not familiar with it it's the idea that if you visualize something if you believe something and if you follow certain steps and do all the right things then you can make this thing that you want to happen a reality in your life you can manifest your own dreams you can manifest your own desires you can manifest even your own destiny and today I'm going to show you that if you are a Christian who really loves the Lord this concept of manifesting is not biblical and you should stop using this word that is coming up today on the beat hey my friend welcome back to the beat my name is Alan Parr thank you so much for tuning in this is your first time here it's a pleasure if you want a free ebook click the link in the description box below if you enjoy this video consider subscribing hit that little Bell notification so you won't miss a beat okay so I was having a conversation with my wife a few weeks ago and she was like you need to do a video on Christians talking about manifesting things and I'm like what are you talking about and I started looking at it looking at Facebook and Instagram and all this stuff and lo and behold she was right I saw a lot of Christians hashtag manifest or how I manifested a million dollars or how I manifested a hundred thousand dollars for my business or how I manifested my dreams in 2019 or how I manifested my husband this year and it's the idea that you can control your own destiny so in this video I'm going to share with you four very big major problems that I have with this idea of Christians and using this concept of manifesting in terms of us bringing the reality that we want to our own lives number one this idea of manifesting has its roots and origins in what's called the law of attraction which is a New Age philosophy that some Christians are bar certain philosophies or ideas from it and trying to bring those into the church I want to read for you how New Age proponents are using or defining this word or this concept of manifestation I've taken these quotes directly off of certain new-age websites it says manifestation is looking into your own eyes and declaring your desire it's not talking about looking at Jesus it's not talking about looking in the Bible hey you look into your own eyes and whatever your own eyes desire you just go ahead and declare it another website says this manifesting means to be the creator of your own reality what we decide to focus on will expand you get from life what you set your mind to focus on it is considered to be the universal law that brings the invisible into visibility so this is basically saying hey I can control my own destiny I'm the master of my fate I'm the captain of my soul but if I visualize it I can bring it into reality I can bring the things that are invisible to my visible reality another one says this like with the law of attraction a manifestation is where your thoughts and your energy can create your reality so my encouragement to you if you are a Christian is today today when you're watching this video I want to encourage you to really make up your mind do I really want to be a Christian or am I going to be a pagan and live according to the world if we are a Christian we cannot mix together and try to sync up our beliefs with the world's believes because it's like oil and vinegar the two do not mix the two are not consistent so we need to decide if I'm going to be a Christian I need to go with what the Bible says and what Jesus says or we just need to go and be in the world but we can't continue to have one foot in Christianity and the other foot in the world the second major problem that I have with this concept of manifesting things or really it's the law of attraction is that it steals the Loree away from God and it puts it back on ourselves as a matter of fact isaiah 42:8 says i am the lord that is my name and i will not give my glory to anyone else and so what the enemy wants to do is he wants to deceive us into thinking that when good things happen in our lives it is a result of something that we've done and if he can get us to think that then we would be receiving all the glory and as a result God would not get any of the praise and any of the glory let me give you an example when people say well I manifested $100,000 for my job because I did this I did that I invested I made all the right decisions I made all the right business decisions and whatnot and as a result it's all about the decisions that I made or when people say well I manifested my husband this year well it's because I looked good I exercised I lost weight I got out of debt I have a good job or I got rid of some of the baggage that I had in my life and as a result of me doing all these things then I was able to attract there's a law of attraction I was able to put myself in a place where I attracted the right man not giving God the glory not giving God the praise that maybe it just might be that even if I didn't do some of these things God wanted to bless me with someone in my life so when good things happen to us in our lives we need to be careful very careful that we don't start looking at ourselves and thinking that we are the source and we are the Creator and we are the one that's blessing ourselves with these blessings we need to always be careful to give to praise the glory and the adoration back up to God because he is the source and every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father above now the third major problem that I have with this idea of Christians manifesting certain things in their lives is that it denies the sovereignty of God the Bible says in proverbs 16:9 we can make our plans but the Lord determines our steps it also says in proverbs 21 and 9 you can make many plans but the Lord's purpose will prevail let me just ask you a question good job have manifested himself out of his situation could David had manifested himself out of his situation could Joseph whenever he was in Potiphar's palace and then ultimately in prison could he have manifested himself out of those situations so we have this idea of when we say well if you do these things you can manifest it for your business you can manifest your husband you can manifest all these things what we're basically saying is God you're not in control I'm in control and if I do all these things that I can make this a reality in our lives but what if God is doing something special behind the scenes in your life as a single person and maybe he's not ready for you to have someone or he's not ready for you to manifest your husband or your wife what if God is trying to teach you some lessons in the midst of that season of unemployment what if God is trying to teach you some lessons in the midst of a difficult season in your marriage you see whenever we think that we are the controller of our universe and if we follow step 1 step 2 step 3 step 4 as somebody else may be telling you to follow and we can get what we want out of God what we're basically doing as we are removing God and we're saying God you are not sovereign I know that I say that but in my heart I really don't believe that because I still believe that I am sitting on the throne of my heart and that I can make things come into my reality simply by following a list or a set of rules let me ask you this question why do you even need to believe in God at all if you can create your own destiny and your own reality now the fourth and final issue that I have with this idea of Christians manifesting certain things in their life is that this is normally something that's all about me and it's seldom about God and advancing his kingdom you know last I checked the Bible says seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then all of these other things will be added unto you whenever we're focused on manifest think something into our lives must be honest it's oftentimes something that we want it's something that will make us happy we're trying to manifest our dreams and our reality and our happiness and get ourselves a man and get ourselves a promotion and get a bigger house or a bigger car or whatever it is we're trying to manifest and sell them it's about seeking first the kingdom of God so it's an issue of having our priorities misplaced because we are not focused on the kingdom of God let me ask you this question when's the last time we heard a Christian say I'm manifesting more disciples in my life so that I can have more of an opportunity to share my faith and help people develop and grow spiritually when was the last time we heard Christians say well I'm manifesting more evangelism in my life so that more people can hear about the gospel of Jesus Christ I'm manifesting more opportunities for me to speak and share my beliefs with other people because I believe that's what God's purpose is most the time when we manifest things or try to manifest things it's all about us it's all about making us happy and we are seldom focused on seeking first the kingdom of God and that is Jesus's order it's more about seeking ourselves so my friend I want you to be careful if you are surrounding yourself with people who are trying to get you to manifest certain things or you're at a church where your leaders are talking about yes you can have it if you believe it if you just receive it or if you visualize it you can make this thing come to pass and you can manifest certain blessings in your life my friend this is not of God this is not consistent with the scriptures will God bless you with certain things absolutely he will but it is a result of God not does that mean we shouldn't try to do certain things to put ourselves in the best position absolutely but we have to always understand and recognize that it is the sovereignty of God that prevails over our own lives not our own effort so I would love to hear your thoughts are you familiar with this term have you used it you know other people that may be trying to manifest certain things have people been trying to get you to do that leave your comments in the comment section below and let's talk about it if you found this video helpful ah anyway feel free to share it with a
