so this morning's task is plugging the 89 70 here because we are out of straw in the barn in January which is not good so here I got it uh got it plugged in for now leave that this morning I'll go feed cows and everything and I got to pull this out we got to go put it in shop you gotta take the corn processor out yet because I didn't do that before we put it in here no we did not get washed it's pretty dirty cuz last year we were playing in the mud so and then I got late so we didn't take the quorum processor out I've got the header off though so that's good yeah we're gonna leave in the shop while the weekend let everything warm up get the processing route and then show you guys how we chopped straw which is not very convenient so here how to plugged in this morning now put the battery charger on it because uh there's a little issue here with the batteries on this farm I already know it's dead so I didn't even bother trying but now we're gonna try it and it's getting probably pretty rough start I mean it's not terribly cold out actually it's only like minus 7 degrees Celsius so we'll see what happens [Music] how's that [Music] so my little rant for today vote hammer straps take them off if you do not need them on the implement you're using why look on the internet and you will find green carts flipped over because people don't take them off and they hook the green card up to the hammer strap then the hammer strap breaks and they're wondering why their grain carts stuck though we're full in the middle of the field it's like come on Karen what you do have too many drinks last night [Music] [Music] just walk around here make sure I don't hit nothing when I move it out parked everything really tight in there [Music] [Music] got here in the shop now I'm gonna let it sit in here for about a day and a half I'm also probably gonna work on getting a corn processor out probably tomorrow back it's on this side you got to pull it out parked it in here fairly tight because I got to bring the mixer in here yet then our loader tractor we keep them in here all winter so by Monday hopefully this is all nice and warm and when we graduate chopping straw the next day and that's the corn cracker thing needs a wash my god okay so now we're up here on top of our barn this is actually we restore all our straw that we use for the milk cows and their stalls so we need to grab straw from upstairs here we have two holes we a hole up there also we have a hole right here which we just dump downstairs into a straw cart so as you can see we have next to nothing left I'm not sure what you guys can see because it is pretty dark up here but this one we have left four straw so we need a chopped straw today otherwise we're not going straw for them tomorrow and we don't want our cows to be laying in dirty stalls because that could cause mastitis issues and future issues down the road so what we have to do now is actually bring the chopper over here and we to back the spout into this door we have upstairs and we're gonna fork the straw bales into the chopper now I know I know it doesn't really seem ideal to be forking the straw by hand into the chopper but right now that's the only way we have to bring new straw up here that is already chopped into fine pieces so luckily for me it's the last time chopping straw this way because next time we're using this beautiful case IH 600 silence blower and this nice Schuler stylish table and we're actually gonna be blowing sawdust upstairs next time because we're gonna switch everything to sawdust for the barn and we're gonna see how that goes and yes I will do a video of doing the sawdust with a blow deck and the solid blower so make sure you hit that subscribe button right now and don't forget to follow along and subscribe it to my channel it's actually free [Music] okay so now we got the spout and the hole the door we can start chopping straw [Music] [Music] so this is what for bail at chop nicely fine straw looks like see if you guys will see this so now hopefully this is gonna last us about a month and a half to two months I'm not sure what you guys can see now or is actually free dark in here so yeah that's gonna last us about a month and a half to two months hopefully after this is gone this is the last time we're actually gonna be chopping straw up here next we're gonna try some sawdust shavings from a local company here in Winnipeg I found so hopefully that works out really well I'm gonna make a video about that so make sure you guys hit that subscribe button if you liked today's video make sure you hit that like button and stay tuned for more videos thanks look for this logo for honest Canadian dairy
