ChatGPT and Blender: A Step-by-Step Guide

hey and welcome to this short tutorial on how to use shared GPT with blender so shared GPT is an AI tool made by open AI so go check it out search for chat gbt in Google and you will learn more about it so go and set up account and follow this video so in this case we are going to use it with blender so with as you know blender have a python script section so you I'm going to use chatgpt to write me some some scripts Python scripts and let's get started so first of all you have when you log in you see this window chat gbt you have some examples and capabilities and limitations and on the left side you have new chat up here so every shot you open you will see it here on this section and down here you have settings and and this bar here is where the magic happens so if we click on the bar uh we can now put in our prompts so you a prompt is where you ask the AI to do or to write uh stuff for you so I already wrote some so let me just copy and paste in so I put in this write a blender script that that will add 15 cubes in a circle that have 20 units of radius all right so click enter and as you see here here's a sample of a blender python script that will add 15 cubes in a circle with a radius of 20 units so now it's writing the script as you see very simple and very easy and you just have to wait until it's done and the best part is down here uh when it's finished let me see so here to use the script open blender and go to the scripting workspace and then create a new text edit editor window and paste description into it finally press run script to execute the script and add cubes to the scene so now we can copy the script so I just click here or I can just copy like this I click here now and we go to blender so fresh new window we go to scripting here as you see or we can click here and click Text Editor now we click on you so we fresh new text editing here and we paste in the script now it's uh here and we click Text run the script as you see look at it it's amazing it's crazy I mean look so simple you have 15 cubes and to check that first Cube 14. so 15 cubes in a circle crazy right so we can go back now we just select all and delete and we click on text and new and then we go back to shot GPT and let me just put another one just to see and just to show you how crazy this is copy and paste in so write a blender script that will add 40 monkey in a shape of rectangular so you have to be specific I mean you have to tell the sharp GPT or the AI that you you want the monkey object and what shape and everything you have to be precise so click here enter and now here is a sample a blender python script that will add 40 monkeys in a rectangular shape all right so now it's working and we have to wait I mean it's it's very fast it's crazy I'm so obsessed I mean it's so fun and I never use uh scripting I'm just you know a regular 3D designer working with 3D softwares but this is crazy okay copy code and then we go back to blender and so here we have this text editor we paste in and then we run script look at it 40 monkeys in a rectangular shape and here you have 40 monkeys 39 plus this one the original one so look I mean look at this look at this crazy stuff so you can even select all and shade the smooth and you have a nice surface on the monkey heads or Suzanne it's crazy I mean so okay guys thank you for watching this is a very short tutorial I hope you enjoyed it I hope you learned something go to shotgpt do some crazy creative stuff and good luck see you on the next video bye
