[Music] when i recently visited my friend conrad in north carolina i was close enough to charlotte that i could easily work in the landing there to check off another class bravo airport on my bucket list it was the 12th one for me leaving 22 yet to go in the lower 48 states as i'm getting the plane ready i would like to welcome avionics saurus as a sponsor to my channel buy the products i fly at airport is in the valley so flying to its rising terrain after a fuel and lunch stop in williamsburg kentucky i take off too with charlotte speed alive temperature pressure good positive rate europe gorgeous here in the center good afternoon bonanza 7-0 tango bravo off the ground williamsburg ifr on file to uh charlotte and ready to copy tango bravo and de center squawk six six q4 [Music] squawk six six two four when it's a seven zero tango problem endeavor 5106 clicker artillery 9-0 tango bravo radar contact uh seven miles south of the williamsburg airport our correction that knocked out similar to nine or nine or nine or seven two nine nine nine niner and uh zero tank bravo is leaving 5 300.00 clear to the charlotte airport is filed climb maintain one one eleven thousand peninsula seventeen problem the filed route is to the snowbird vor and from there on the lin 3 arrival into charlotte the snowbird vor sits at over 4 000 feet elevation in the smoky mountains right next to the appalachian trail stunningly beautiful but it's not easy to find a good spot for an emergency landing there so i filed a fairly high cruise altitude of eleven thousand feet for this short flight november seven zero tango bravo contact atlanta center 133.6 atlanta 133.6 bonanza seventh year tank bravo have a good day atlanta center good afternoon bonanza seven zero tango bravo six thousand two hundred climbing one one eleven thousand [Music] okay so there is some precipitation here but that's off to the east we're flying south so that's moving away from us and if i look ahead yeah that's all to the left of our core so that should not bother us for the mixture and the climb as usual i'm using the target egt method i'm looking at my number six cylinder and that egt should be about 1280 or so that's what it shows at sea level so as i climb i lean to keep it at 1280 and that keeps it in a happy spot the terrain here is rising significantly we're going to cross the smoky mountains that's why it doesn't look like we've climbed a lot yet lots of convective activity back at home in the midwest our home home is uh is quiet right now but here in chicago and east of chicago oh my one reference i'm leaning until that eg2 peaks and that's here at about 1442 but now we go about 20 degrees below that that's 20 degrees celina peak let's review a couple of things here starting with the lin 3 arrival i have that programmed into the gps and my flight plan on four-ply foreflight but let's see if there's anything else on the chart that we need uh radar is required yep we got radar um the volunteer transition is only for turbojet aircraft that's not the one we're flying uh and the other one's included in the question probably aircraft only so we're good here we'll start at snowbird [Music] and on the next page it really just has a textual description of that uh does give us the arrival 8 is here 121.15 we're a little too far from that so until then get the emergency guard frequency in here now we can monitor that [Music] okay the other chart i have ready here forty seven twenty four knocks on the parking rate contact climb and maintain one two thousand i'm attaining one two thousand that's a taxi diagram of course uh fb always on the far east side is called wilson so ideal would be a runway one eight left or a three six right but we'll see what they have for us today [Music] there's one build up ahead of us that i don't like [Music] everything else looks pretty tame all right so a little closer to that buildup man what looked like [Music] is actually a smaller one and there's just some pace maybe uh a dissipating cloud off to maintain 4 000 and turn right there fly hitting one seven zero that doesn't matter as i thought [Music] there is however more half lifts open room three up lights back to me warm nineties okay fbo a left turn here 1748 charlotte tower company traffic 11 mile finals on a 1a left line up away wind is 2-1-0 at 1-0 5.18 left american 1748. the fbo at charlotte wilson is a very nice facility with plenty of space it was nice that the only charge was for fuel no landing fee no facility fee and no parking fee for my short stay in less than an hour i will leave from here to statesville a mere 35 miles to the north and you can see that in a future video 1748 takeoff let's check out 1a lab american 1748. three nights
