back then I was a huge even to this day I'm gonna say back then I was a huge Rick James fan when I was in the Navy I said I had all this joints I actually be in the mirror singing his records I used to be able to do a pretty good exam so I sing Mary Jane I mean he's the only person that actually paid to go to this concert you know I'm saying cuz back then we used to bombers concert I don't know if they still do that but we used to come with like 50 guys and bum-rush just just brush the door maybe they would catch two or three but the other 30 or the other 30-something guys would get in and I was always one who'd get in you know I mean I mean the Nassau Coliseum I remember one time in the Nassau Coliseum as his giant plate glass windows going all around it I remember this big buff guy named Sabu picked up a garbage can he's broke one of shits and [ __ ] ran through the glass before it could even break all the way you don't say treaded yeah to get it cf1 and fireman was off the hook back there I never forget the first night I met him you know I that's the first person and I would say out of all the celebrities that I met that I was I was starstruck and I remember we got in a limo and uh he started kicking it and he was mad [ __ ] rich man which was right up my alley he was buck wild you know I'm saying he was regular dude and uh he had mad pimping Styles mad mad pimping skills man we went to the restaurant we was in the real high-class Beverly Hills upscale posh whatever you want to call it and he came in and was talking to the whitest blonde this blue-eyed his most purest American apple pie eating white one like this come on [ __ ] Rick James lick the whole side of her face man she was witty he boned after that man he boned her after that it was no it was none of the things you would think would happen if a black man does these walks him to a white woman and licks the whole side of a face it cause a [ __ ] right oh man I've seen him tell women pull out the titties you know I'm saying I've seen him tell women all the women should give another serve another man give him a [ __ ] I seen him do it all man anything that that's part of something you would think a pimp we're doing this wasn't a pimp this is a rock star was no pebble was just a straight-up player man he wasn't trying to it was like that's how he was rolling man and the women was all with it man I got a friend a good friend that broke up with his girl because he took it to one of the concerts and Rick called onstage though his tongue down her throat she was witty they supposed to get married man you know I'm saying he's seen his fiancee sucking Rick's tongue on stage Madison Square Garden man this [ __ ] really took place you know I'm saying anyway give back to back then you know we started really getting tight cuz my man was buck why he was you know and I asked you I started doing things that I wasn't doing before I got to name it I was experimenting with the coke and drinking a little bit more smoking weed the whole Hollywood scene I was to get I was drawn into all of that you know and uh my brother didn't do any of this [ __ ] so it was whatever was available for Eddie Murphy on the dark side I got all of it because he didn't want any of it I got all it was it was me and chicks lined up they had a chip toe nail or you know something's wrong with that's all it took with him chipped toenail I don't care how fine she was man tony has Chip you don't wanna fine yeah I was having them you know I'm saying it was all kind of cats wanting to hang out with kilos of blow he didn't wanna do blow oh you wanna hang out with them hey it was Jamaicans with bales a weed like this my like give you all you want for free no just hang out with me Eddie he wasn't with it you know what do we find I was there for all that [ __ ] man and Rick James was in the embodiment of all of that by himself he had the weed he had the chicks he had the drink he had the location he's the first person who I went to his house he had a pool in his living room all right it wasn't no separate he was in his little was a gigantic pool with plants on the ground i bugged out man from that whole [ __ ] you know saying I'm hanging out we go up to his house for the weekend and got snowed in and he had his house was like it was one big mansion than they had connecting joints to it you know I'm saying and he had in each one that house was filled up with women you know it's the mary-jane girls in this one Val young and the other one you know saying in the group is in the next one and some more groupies and this one over here I'm processing the do-rags is over there I mean it was off the hook it was around-the-clock food you understand he had Linda hunt coming out with whatever you want and 24 hours a day I had never been exposed to nothing like that and uh that was kind of like my first inside look at my man's whole behavior he had this thing with me where he used to always like [ __ ] with me man I don't I don't know what what started it but he would [ __ ] with me like we went to the house and we snowed in and he took it upon himself I never forget to get on the loudspeaker throughout the whole conflict compound and say if anybody gives Charlie Murphy some [ __ ] they Friday I don't know what made him do that you know I don't even know if there was a discussion with all the chicks like you know I'm getting them first with but he I remember he did that and he had security minded to me the whole time I was there I thought that was weird because everybody else was doing a thing well he did for some reasons that he didn't want me to have any fun after that we kept hanging out you know whenever he was in town we would hang out or whatever we've run into each other in LA and then you know he and I because of the you know the drug thing we had it like it was a separate relationship outside the one that we all had when Eddie was dead cause Eddie didn't get hurt he used to wake up in the morning say why was everybody so tired because we didn't go to sleep yet and it'd be time to go to work we will be up on name we went to studio 54 and back then Studio 54 even to this day I say Studio 54 was the ultimate Club the ultimate there has never been and never will be nothing that goes beyond that spot that spot has you walk in they had people Buck Mackey with body paint on for the outfit you know I'm saying now you'd be talking to the chick for hour than you realize she's buck naked you know I'm saying you think that you got a dress on that was tight and you start seeing the hair on the crotch am you this mom was buck naked you know I'm saying and then you know everything was going on up in the up in the balcony [ __ ] was doing a thing in the balcony whatever they won't have sex get high you didn't come back that stance start dancing and go to the bar start drinking and they had food in there it was like coming and do whatever you want and stay till the Sun came up spot so all the the who's who in show business and then in the business world they was in there it was buck wild so you hand me the blunt get it up start smoking it I guess that's the peace offering or whatever you know we smoking a blunt and then uh my manager said yo do Charlie Murphy it's like 10 at least 10 women's it was it was clear it was a lot of women on the bed man I mean blond hair brunette afro corn braid it was all there that's a smorgasbord is whatever you want that's whatever you like it was even oriental now how many black men you know can say they born or in Harlem you know I'm saying I'm saying that's that's rare man that's rare in America that's rare in America I can you know I can proudly say I remember that class man you know saying that you know I went there and it was you know all because they big yeah that's we turn me on and I'm saying I ain't shamed me admit it you know I'm saying it was a good time a good thing like I told you I whip Rick's ass a minimum of ten times that's the minimum that's bad minimum it's been morning there but I don't know I'm only gonna tell you a couple of stories cuz you know Rick is so wide and has went so far off the the meter it [ __ ] that I can't even tell you I tell you on TV I mean you know I for the sake of our friendship you know I'm saying Ike I'm not even gonna bring it up but trust me he's wente he he's went where's like your Rick man what the [ __ ] is wrong she mean you don't took this [ __ ] too far and his response is like this there's no such place doctor let's go to their best my god I'm that witty man I don't want to go to the abyss man you know I'm saying Rick wants to go to the abyss in fact he dwells in me abyss Rick James dwells in the abyss okay and he and he wants company sometimes you know and for some reason he likes to reach out for me whenever I'm around when he wants to go there he will reach out for me to try to check take me to the abyss with him I'm not with it man I'm not with it and that's when we end up no tussling than whatever you know I'm saying what I really think is that you know Rick would be so [ __ ] high when he was doing a lot of these things that when he received these big dams he probably don't even remember getting that's the only they have to come up with for you to keep doing the same thing get an ass-whipping come back do go there again get another ass-whipping but the one thing that you had in common and all of those ass whippings was she was [ __ ] up that tack on tells me you don't remember getting the ass whippin he probably wake up the next morning and be like down I must ran a marathon yesterday I was a marathon what's my sake of that you know I'm saying that's the only thing I can think of man down jaws hurt I'm so went to the dentist yesterday you know I'm saying he would wake up and totally forget that he got his ass with me I mean you know most men you have egos and asked women it's kind of hard to accept so he probably was in denial and you know black blacked it out and came up with his own excuse for his soreness the following day the reason we was going to a chiropractor or whatever you know I was a fellow Hawks tonight back hurt that's from the foot was up your ass [ __ ] for up north you know sad but he would come up with his own [ __ ] yeah I'm hearing doctors riding Hospital slip and death yeah forgot when darkness was like this oh yeah you don't say let me not forget that you know Rick James was very mad he remembered that ask with me because he wanted revenge he called back and I know her mama [ __ ] and uh you know how I try to set up the first time cuz he really wanted to get me you know I'm saying he felt that you know I was the main one that was promoting his legs you know I'm saying so this is what he did man he challenged us he said he's that chance he was coming over to play some ball right so that particular day I wasn't there but I how I was all about him getting me he brings over the guy with the crooked eye and all and then they play ball and they all got sneakers on but Rick on cowboy boots right as soon as the game started he just kicked my man cruelly in the balls that was the end of the game that was the end of the game man so who do you think he was gonna kick the balls that day ball check pie kick fruity in the balls and get back in the limo and drive back to Buffalo you came all the way from Buffalo to New Jersey i whooped you asked about eight days ago that was for me but i wasn't there that day so fruity idiot to take one to the next man and you know what I know you probably went home I felt that he you know he was victorious that day but the the reality of the whole thing is fruity has two children today so you weren't that victorious okay still friends man how are you still we still see each other on a regular whenever I go to California you know Rick James is like a family friend he knows my mom's he knows my brother he knows he knew my past before he passed he knows are my kids I know a couple of his kids I know his sister I know his brother I met his mother before she passed I don't you know we know each other man this is just some kooky [ __ ] that went on in the 80s that looking back on it was insanity when he was happening man but it was just normal it was it was the eighties it was the time you know it just happened and you know and now I can look back on it and it's funny as hell so why not talk about it you know I'm saying why not have that somebody else laugh because I laugh when I think about the [ __ ] cuz the [ __ ] was funny and it was you know it was insanity and you know hey it happened hey and for some reason he likes to reach out for me whenever I'm around when he wants to go there he will reach out for me to try to check take me to the best with him I'm that witty man I'm not with it and that's when we end up no tussling them whatever you know I'm saying I know over the years you know um my brother has had like some real some real interesting characters that work for him and you know we had big Larry we had fruity we had Bob one of the most outstanding characters angle say it's real name I just say his name was uh I don't know the say his name was Jupiter the say his name is Daryl okay you know he was a short cat you know and he knew my brother from way way back they grew up together and uh they were real tight you know he used to work for my brother when it when it was up a Saturday Saturday Night Live and he Dick Ebersol you should he really liked his guys he was real smart and he had he had a scholarship to Colgate University as well as Stanford and he could have went to either school but he decided he didn't want to go and because he was kind of like the black John Belushi but he wasn't famous I mean he was off the hook you know I'm saying that with the drinking and getting high and everything and uh what ended up happening was his guys he he became you know drinking can make you obnoxious you know I'm saying so one night we was in LA we went to this club not gonna club but a restaurant called life familiar Dean Martin you Steve actually seen the real Dean Martin sitting at his table he's eating his spaghetti or whatever and we over here telling you eat now whatever weight and class stuff and then then Darrell walks in then Darrell walks in and he's real drunk and when he came in he looked at the whole table and he was you know how I get like this like a Scarface so start good night for the bad guy he was just like that man came in and we was all the table and he went down the line and there was a cocktail never remember our tell never from II she was dead she was talking to my brother and he goes down the line insulting everybody at the table you know he tells it was me my cousin ray big fruity Larry this guy named dougie my brother and I telling Neville and he goes to each guy says what he would whip that person his ass and knocked him out and I slap you Charlie I'll knock you out and and ready I whip the [ __ ] out of you him Larry I'll hit you with gut-punching bailout Johnny I'll knock you the [ __ ] out [ __ ] and you Ray maybe big I beat the [ __ ] out of [ __ ] [ __ ] all you big Larry you a [ __ ] gut punch and your [ __ ] big stump greedy [ __ ] I mean he was he was he was being real offensive man you know and with somebody tell me they gonna knock me out I mean yeah it's real hard and that's a responder just you know on the spot i'ma tell you I'm glad my brother Vernon wasn't here cuz he I'm telling you would tore his clothes off make David script him drag him out you know I'm saying but we all have restraint he went down lad something I tell that was uh I'm not even gonna repeat what he said you know it was off the hook he went over the line with her he said something my brother I mean fact I know what he said he called it cuz you know even though he's I mean a Daryl ish cuz Daryl even though he's black he insults like a white man and one of his favorite insult I mean he could say this like nobody else easy you [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] you right call my brother a [ __ ] yeah I've never been called a [ __ ] by anyone in my life but him you know I'm saying the way he would say it would really make you angry especially you know it's just he had a way of doing it man so I could say and he would call anybody that he'd call my brother daddy called me daddy called his brother that was his his his bread and butter is one-two punch [ __ ] all right I remember one night we was in his club right la we come out the club and this guy has set up a barbecue pit right in front of the door we walk out about that about the club you did the barbecue smell hits you you just come out the club dancing on that you know you waited because you ain't thinking my barbecue at 3 in the morning but that she's been smelling good right we get in line as we get to the front of the line I look on the grill there's two guys in front of us and there's three sausages on the grill the guy behind us was a gang banging he had colors on and the whole [ __ ] he was me like four other cats he looks on a grill and he counts how many sausages on there so he knew that once we get up there it's gonna be no more so he starts going through all the whole gang bangers you're cool [ __ ] that [ __ ] cook look here look it's my spot won't cut up hungry numbers get that sauce is cold and I was like oh man you know I'm saying cuz I I'm not trying to get shopping on a k47 over Frank Normie turns around and goes [ __ ] yo your [ __ ] [ __ ] and I seen the wheels turning in his cat's head he said [ __ ] what's my wrong car luckily none of them knew where the [ __ ] words man we were I wouldn't be telling you a story on that I was like look we got credit cards we got money and that I'm not getting let's go it had to drag him off the land he was gonna challenge some yo he was unchallenged some gangbangers me over Frank it ain't worth it he was off the hook with his [ __ ] man with his insults you know and the way he would say [ __ ] ya ya [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] you pal it was like pouring acid on you man he had yeah he had a talent with that man so we all get a go to the car and he comes out he want and we like okay good we're going we're going to the Beverly Center to get him to think that you know that's where we're going so we get in the car we go straight back to the house get to the house and oh no all the way there everybody is like talking about what just when is happening like yo man this guy really he's lucky that he knew once as long as he knows because man you know anybody else who did what he just did man you know it buddy got anybody got done going the house and everybody's going in different directions so I I'm in the kitchen and it was this guy named rough house all these characters they've been ahead of these funny names and she did work for my brothers is galleon roughhouse your girl dude look like a bulldog was a big fat [ __ ] now he works he's still doing security he needs to stop he's almost 60 you can't fight all right and I want everybody I didn't know that it has fake security all right okay his security is the guys he's once he has one foot in the wheelchair trust me anyway uh anyway roughhouse is sitting there you know and roughhouse used to like to [ __ ] with me - you said we used to have this dislike plan that dozens of whatever you want to call it you try to say something funny about me and I try to say something funny about him and we walk in the room and roughhouse it's now teasing me because Darryl told me he was gonna knock me out yo Charlie you gonna knock you the [ __ ] out right I'm like yo whatever man yes but I'll tell you what if if I ain't no I'm telling you man on a serious side I was getting ready at that really was hard for me not to get up and drill him right there man but as I'm saying this you know I feel - hands grip on the side of my face like this and then I hear you [ __ ] [ __ ] and it was him man he had he had my head like this and he tried to slam it onto the it was like a nook that I was standing so it was marble he tried to slam my head on it so when I heard his voice my head was gone I was able to power out of it cuz he didn't have good leverage he was pulling from him short but I got real mad man that you know you already call me disrespecting me in public now you I don't know how you got in the house you're in the house and you're grabbing my head and trying to slam north so I started beating on him at that point so he was like in front of me I was going to the body boom-boom-boom-boom warming up his ribs and he didn't want to hit he didn't want no more so he grabbed my hands and was trying to hold my hands and I was struggling and trying to you know to get loose you know I'm saying I ain't know by circular motion back then I was trying to get loose and uh my hand he started losing his grip he grabbed my sweater and he held onto my sweater while I was trying to punch and he stretched his sleeve it's what he let go to sleep was touching the ground I was standing up in the sleeve of my sweater there's a $500 sweater man you know this is backing like him in 90-some but you know filing out I sweat it to me hey man you just [ __ ] up some nice [ __ ] you know I don't got a lot of fire running out sweating down to the ground and I look at the sweat on the ground here if I was going and it just infuriated me man sigh I pulled up my [ __ ] bunched it up as soon as my fists popped out and as I popped my fists out I mean there Daryl Daryl added more fuel but look at me dead in the eye and saying [ __ ] yo pal man boy who had dynamite I put it on his chin what and he slid across the floor like this and skidded to a halt he was knocked out cold man his Joe is cracks it's knocked out cold so all my rage was in that punch you know he was laying on ground he was sprawled out and then Randy gets up starts you know trying to wake him up and and I'm I'm like you know I don't want to really update my stopping him but I'm like you know where I know I know his mother man no I'm saying so I just because he was he was there to be stopped I mean with no resistance but I said I know his mother I went upstairs and I was in the room when I was like why I can't believe how what just happened you know cuz I was like beating up almost like beating up your cousin and some annually for a long time and I'm saying so that was kind of [ __ ] with me right and then you know what I was in a room that had a patio and had a big door and the door was open and I'm standing me I'm like damn I can't believe I just did man Wow I lost it and I had something outside of Windigo I realized that it's [ __ ] outside Mazie he wants more right and then my brother came in the room and I looked at my brother and we stood there for about maybe 3 minutes with it you kept him like a cat waiting outside the window you punch like finally you're I was like you know all that [ __ ] about knowing your mom's and all that that [ __ ] was out the window man brother looked at me he's like yo go finish him off I was like no proud I went downstairs boy I went to work on this [ __ ] cuz the [ __ ] not there he got it yet Napoleon complex man you know saying and you know I'm gonna tell you like this I don't got no problem with beating up any [ __ ] I don't care how you might be saying oh he beat up a little [ __ ] I beat up big [ __ ] - all right you know I'm saying so don't get it twisted this your big [ __ ] don't usually just one just do the stupid [ __ ] though I'm saying it's always a clown just think about this this high he had a Napoleon complex and it me and him used to grow we would go to a bar and he would find the biggest [ __ ] in the club and still on him and then me and him got to do two thing up you know so that's why I stopped going out with him because he had a Napoleon complex for anyway so I go downstairs I put a rack on I mean it was it was it was bad man so he's after I put this wreck on he's out he's laid out I'm like I'm going back upstairs you know I'm saying they wake him up and it taken and the cast is taking them to take him off the property I think at the time I was about buck 70 whatever these cats was like to 50 to 70 it was big and my man you know he was they took him to the car I was like getting the car man and he just slipped it on three let me said [ __ ] you pal Wow Wow whap into the combo triple fire on three James Young you ever used to read Beetle Bailey that when he Sarge used to [ __ ] him up man you'd be like look like dirty laundry it just balled up like a bag of laundry that's when they finished baby like a bag of dirty large I mean like just you do this thing he's ready to go wash they picked him up they throw him in the car he was all busted up and they drove down the hill this [ __ ] had took cuz when I had him Chun you out here I took the body to break up and I made peace with his face his face was i demolished it and then when they got on they put the crust norm they [ __ ] him up man he was [ __ ] up bad they take him down to the gate threw him in the bushes right so let me get the [ __ ] out of here you think okay so all over with they get back up to the house kitchen we start here [Music] and it had a monitor basically we look at the monitor his face was like it likes a man Halloween mask on pushing it on the on the camera and it was him and he was going [Music] what's the matter you afraid to come out come on she oh man this went on for like 45 minutes man and then to take it to the twilight zone a limo pulls up now the night before that I ran Berkeley I ran a blade Berkeley used to be the middleweight champion he lost his title to James lights-out Tony and he took a hell of it he took a tremendous beating tremendous I'm saying and his face was I mean his face was bad man you know he look like he's required surgery you know and uh the wedge to the bat it was you would think that somebody whose face was like that and got it whipped that debt would go to the hospital and stay for at least a month or whatever but he can't he went to a comedian's house maybe he was he had lost some lost his mind whatever he was crazy cuz you posed to go to the hospital you go to Eddie Murphy's house he came straight from his ass-whipping flew from Vegas to Eddie's house we didn't even know him that good no it wasn't like he was in our family dog you know said we knew him like see the club yo with a blade what's up man and then you get whipped out you come come straight to us so we was up we didn't know what to say to the brother you know saying we came over his face is [ __ ] up all he stays you want to drink you know cuz I know in the cowboy movies I'm saying they give you something to drink pull a tool for whatever his face maybe he's a pain give him some whiskey he should go say so so we offer them a drink but I'll never forget what he said ma'am I met him he was like yo that is my face this man well verticality gaze his face made my face feel better I feel better man he want to go to the club after he ain't think his face was that bad he drove and he seemed Darryl he was like damn what the [ __ ] happened to him Darryl was like this [ __ ] [ __ ] beautify you [ __ ] [ __ ] till 5 vote came and got him yeah he 508 handled it they had to go cuz it was either called call the cops or kill him you know we didn't want to go there we know his mama you know I'm saying so they follow him they took him out of there man
