today we play Captain Toad treasure Tracker an incredibly fun Nintendo switch game that's like a Mario game but you can't jump this game makes surprisingly good use of the fact that you can't jump with clever levels and fun puzzles the game is super interesting and it's similar to the levels you might have seen in Super Mario 3D World we beat the full game and take on the final boss thank you is there no intro to the game no file select or anything no I can't believe that the game actually just starts like this cuz this is my first time turning on this game the game can't just start like this this is unbelievable oh oh there's I guess the Big Bird oh Toad's trying to pull that away oh no wait is he going to kidnap tooned oh my goodness that is a big bird over there and he's got a star necklace too that bird actually reminds me of the bird from what's that Zelda the game Wind Waker from Wind Waker oh and this that's kind of scary because Captain Toad can't jump Captain Toad treasure Tracker okay that you just really jump right into the game over here hey and what's going to go on with this book is this book going to open now two players no I I'm going to play one player mode the secret in the Stars Alo I guess we have to go over here to go to the first level lucky past Beginnings I got a sneeze I've got a sneeze coming up Lucky past Beginnings guys oh my sneeze might go away don't care about those coins let's just get this star and that's the level complete okay so I guess when you get a star like this that's how you complete the level pretty sweet game so far he very nice collected the oh we didn't collect the gold mushroom Okay so I guess there are other side quests or secret quests this popup just reminds me so much of Super Mario 3D World and boun SP you can now play hide-and-seek with pixel toad okay let's continue on wall eye tumble Temple oh now we're going to start to see enemies this is a little scary and it's so funny that the first enemy that you see in the game well other than that bird that we saw wa I didn't expect that we just fall like that actually it does make sense if you think about it yeah uh it's kind of funny that the first enemy we see in the game they aren't Goombas okay I got to run by you go hey he got me oh man I tried to time it but he still got us oh there's a thing right there oh I know how to get there now oh my sneez is oh excuse me my sneeze came back okay now we just want to come over here hopefully we can get a mushroom imagine if we died in Captain Toad treasure Tracker how sad would that be if we died in this game okay rotate and now go fast nice we made it across okay anything over here like we want to come through here we're back here oh let's just go over here I don't know if waiting there for that to rotate would be of any use to us oh no we fell wait did I not get this before a mushroom hooray hooray okay we get to get that okay yeah there's no point in waiting for it to go vertically over there just want to go over here then come across here now let's just be careful to notfall cuz you can fall off these stairs I've got to be careful where these Ledges are sometimes it's not super obvious into one of these squares and what's going to happen oh oh I didn't think that this would rotate like this I thought that we'd be on our side basically and in here anything nice it just those oh maybe I could actually throw those at these enemies I wonder if I could have thrown those at the enemies and if anything nice would have happened come on let's go oh boy that Wall-E almost touched me I don't want those Walley to touch me wow what a fun game I'm enjoying this a lot and this is only the first two levels other than that intro level wonder how many total levels there are and apparently you can also play two player I guess if you hit the M button oh here's a quick tip touch that but I can't I'm playing dock mode oh oh okay yeah you could use the pointer and press ZR okay yeah yeah I know that oh that's a good idea touch Stone trouble so this is like the captain Toad level from Super Mario 3D World touch zones wait what happens if we touch it okay that brings that up and if we touch that one oh that one goes down wait what if we touch the yellow one oh the yellow one we can't touch okay oh something's locked over here something is rotten in the state of Denmark as they say can I just go in here and then go across here perfect okay good we got all the diamonds how in the world do we reach the end there wait oh the end is connected to that and this moves like that okay so you move over and that's perfect we've got it that's great what a cool level guys this is itching such a scratch that I've had in my brain I've wanted to play some more puzzle games recently this is actually fantastic I'm enjoying this so much even though we're just getting started with it I'm very excited to see what these levels are going to be like how complicated will this get oh I don't want to skip past any Levels by accident wait let's see okay here we go mushroom Mesa Mesa means table in Spanish I'm pretty sure so yeah let's see what are we going to do here and we've got the nice Captain Toad music playing over here man so did the captain Captain Toad game's first start wait what in the world how do I get there oh oh so it's not actually this one it's this one that you need that is so tricky that's so tricky I bet everyone Falls for that on their first time playing this or almost everyone okay we probably want that oh Oh I thought that we'd have to bring it down but we actually let's try getting back here or something can we go farther back here what if we go like this what if this comes down no we can't get back here no no no I don't want to climb up that what about you what if you come down wait I thought that we'd be able to climb through here I thought that we'd be able to get through here but no oh there is an entrance right here wait wait wait but then you bring me down and now we can sneak back there and get that okay that was a little tricky that one over there yeah because there are some things that you can't really see you have to kind of figure out how it works from playing with it you can't really look at it to see how it works but there's another level complete oh and look at this for all these levels over here there little check boxes that one you could clear the course in three touches oh my goodness over here you get a check boox for defeating all the enemies maybe you get extra diamonds or something wait the chase to pyrro Puff Peak okay I guess this is like chapter 2 or something double Cherry Palace instead of double Cherry Palace and it looks like it's some kind of maze this is actually wild over here we're going to have double cherries over here I did not expect that so it's just like double Cherry pass from Super Mario 3D world except this is double Cherry Palace oh boy how are we going to want to do this let's go like this this now let's see okay we're going to want to go oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy hold on hold on actually wao that guy's running away I don't want him to run away okay let's go like this hey don't hurt me bro don't hurt me bro okay hey let's get that one over there let's come on up come on down everybody now come through here okay then come on up all right and now we'll be able to both step on these P switches together and what does that do oh that makes those walls come up oh do I actually want to stop this guy or something then what in the world was the point of those walls coming up wait he can still travel under the wall so what's the point of this guy I got you I got you bro you're not running away I got you hey he gives us a diamond nice okay so that's the first diamond what else do we want though what if we pull up these does that do anything and know let's have the guy on the left pull up these huh where could the other diamonds be what else do we want to do over here yeah we stepped on those P switches but so what wait oh oh I just made my Captain Toad friend drop down here hold on I want the camera to focus on the other guy actually I don't want to lose this guy by accident oh wait what in the world are you doing back there my Captain Toad friend okay what if we drop down here also okay we we will also drop down here and what does this do and now we're both down here oh oh I see it's something kind of like this oh and then I step on the P switch and then that opens up a path for you what if we nice you can drop drop down on the enemies which is cool we'll go like this step on that one okay now wait wait wait before we drop down let's check what's back here cuz it looks like okay that was just a diamond okay good good thing that we checked that first that was Diamond number two he that falls now you're going to activate that and then we'll be able to drop down here but wait before we activate that let's see anything back here what a wild Palace level we have oh oh I got to catch you got to catch you bro you give me a diamond yeah yeah there are all the diamonds let's go oh my goodness this is unbelievable what an absolutely wild level we have over here okay we drop down on that guy now let's do that and you'll step on this one oh you got to step on both together I guess okay and then that wall disappears and we can go like this this is such a cool level who would have thought that a game that is based on a Mario character where you can't jump is this cool this is phenomenal I think this might end up becoming one of my favorite Nintendo switch games this is just way too cool and I've got to see what two- player of this is going to be like seeing speedruns of this might be cool too he double Cherry Palace yeah you know what I saw on speedrun.com that the speedruns for this game oh and now we have several levels unlocked here's a quick tip you can zoom in or out while exploring yeah okay press minus oh press minus for control information okay nice nice nice Shy Guy Heights is next but yeah I was taking a look at this game on on speedrun.com because before I play a game I want to see roughly how long it takes on speedrun.com I usually look at not only what the world record time is but I also look at what the slowest submitted time is and yeah usually the slowest submitted time that ends up being similar to how long it takes to play through the game normally so I like to get an idea of how long a game will take to see if it is worth playing because I've got a lot of really long projects that I'm working on like l G's Mansion 3 oh my goodness I've been working on that game for over a year now and it's a long game so it takes a long time to get a few extra hours to be able to record and edit a video like that okay don't chase me bro chase me bro don't chase me bro shy guy hey we can get these nice that we could use these to defeat the enemies let's go I missed hey you're very nice kind of sad that we didn't get a diamond for defeating the shy guy what in the world is this though or ZR while rotating oh okay so he hold z Oh Oh I thought that we just have to spin quickly but it's we could rotate this and then we could set it up so that we could go where we want so like that that lets us go to Every location so we can come here first get these coins and what's in here Diamond Maybe diamond or no give me a diamond ah just a mushroom okay that's fine now don't hurt me bro these enemies actually remind me of bomber man Bomberman 64 was such a fun game actually I should play that on my channel I think that might oh no I accidentally threw that that would be such a fun game to play on my channel oh boy wait waa whoa whoa whoa hold on and you have these guys over here can you have these guys over here defeat a shy guy cuz it looked like one of these guys came down and defeated a shy guy actually that's what it seemed like okay you come down and then I'll go like that destroy you that's nice what about you guys let's beat the shy guys and come here shy guys ah it's so fun to pick this stuff up and throw it at the enemies how am I going to defeat that blue guy up there that might be a little tricky though can we do that let's come on up here don't notice me wait maybe I should have waited I should have waited I should have waited I should have waited can I get you from here that would be a good snipe no I can't throw very far so that probably won't work unless oh maybe maybe hold on if that guy comes over here maybe I could get him but wait where did he go I didn't already get him yet did I I wonder if you get something special for defeating all the enemies in this level over here oh and I guess you can just drop down instead of taking the ladder that's probably a bit faster oh wait wa we've got a pickaxe we've got a pickaxe oh that would have been useful for defeating oh oh you can mine in here oh that's cool hello there friend do you have something for me wow that's so cool oh I'm so glad that we checked over there that was such a cool power up it's like we were playing Minecraft or something it was also a little bit like the hammer power up that Mario has in the classic Donkey Kong arcade game he we are little though so one hit and we're dead bro bro get off the ladder pick this up pick this up good good mushroom okay good we're not little that's amazing is this one also a mushroom or is this okay just one of these that's all right wait where's the final diamond let's beat that guy final Diamond won't be back here will it oh it's just right back there that is perfectly fine I don't know what these coins wait if we get to 100 do we get a new life or another life I mean okay it looks like we got another life but our coins didn't go back to zero so maybe you could also use the points for something else go how did he not reach me I was so worried there that's so funny how that ended how he just squeezed through there man what a game this is so cool slipped past all of the shy guys oh does that mean that I have to go by the shy guys undetected or that I can't get hurt by them okay but now it's time for level seven what a great game okay so I just took a little break this is a cool looking level though spin wheel library and you know what else every single level so far has basically been this little cubed shape object like this so what is this oh this is how we uh we can spin right wait oh oh it's you this and spin wait oh I thought that it was holding a I thought that that icon in the demonstration I thought that it was holding a weote for a second wait wait is there anything in here yes okay there is a reason to go there okay I couldn't see but yeah there we can grab that yeah whenever I get to one of these I think that I'm supposed to just keep spinning but it looks like you want to spin up until a point wait actually oh we could go and uh wait can we go behind here maybe okay we can't go behind here we can go back here here though oh looks like there's no reason to really go back here but yeah if we want to just complete the level if we're doing a speedrun then we can just rush up there but hold on hold on because I do want to get the diamonds it would be nice to get the diamonds I think so what diamond is that that's Diamond number two where is Diamond number three I'd like the third Diamond please where can I find the third diamond we have to go to the purple pipe to get the third Diamond that perhaps what we have to do let's see we rotate like this can come to here there are coins that are leading here and then that brings us to the purple pipe the purple pipe wa waa we're upside down now what's up bro give me something you don't have anything for me hey this is so weird Bros yeah there we go we got it thank you bro wait how do I get back up there now oh we go up here it's so weird cuz I can't oh oh I can move the camera oh man this is wacky over here this is really wacky everything's all upside down wait that's like a golden mushroom or something over there what was that what's that in there let's get that what is that wao that's worth 50 coins oh my goodness that's very nice that's almost like a oneup mushroom the way that that works okay that was a nice boost for us and now let's go let's get out of that underground or sorry let's get out of the upside down zone now can make our way out of here is this going to be the the first time that we complete a level with uh all of the check marks and everything that we need because there was a check box that can get checked off for every level but now we can get this get the star wait can we okay there we go we got the star I thought that it'd be too high and we'd have to climb up the books or something but there we go and these stars are kind of similar to the stars in Super Mario 64 so let's see yeah collected the golden mushroom that's going to get checked off right hooray we checked it off all right wait did we not get a stamp like that before you only get a stamp like do you get a stamp like that always or is it only when you 100% complete a level wait what's that we unlock a new level back here now wa maybe we unlocked a new secret level back here I don't know if it's because we got that all checked off or what this was but let's check out this coins Galore oh maybe this is a bonus level oh hello there oh nice thanks for the mushroom but wait what about you guys you're sleeping you're just sitting there you're like this this is the music that plays in the bonus levels in Super Mario 3D World yeah in the slot box levels that's where it plays okay let's check these mystery boxes these mystery boxes who oh oh W I need that I guess okay and oh do I have to oh oh you have 10 seconds to collect as many coins as possible that's what the point of this is I see at first I was learning I thought wait what do we have to do oh I missed another mushroom there 222 coins it's nice that it's all twos that's pretty cool oh and I could have gone to the other uh I could have gone to the other Mystery Box okay that's cool how that worked out interesting okay and it looks like you get a stamp like this on the page if you fully complete the level and you get the check boox this is the only level that we've done that at so far let's go to Minecart tunnel Throwdown now for adventure what does Captain Toad Say does he say let's go Adventure or something like that wait this is different from every other level we've had so far this is very different wait I want to go back this though because we missed that one at the beginning okay we can collect the coins and stuff over here probably hit that up there oh and if we get that one that breaks that stuff hello there little enemies feel like I'm playing Pokémon Snap right now we they're moving around like this okay okay there we go we got that diamond we didn't get the first diamond though which is so sad so sad that we missed the first diamond very very sad times there it is that's what we need that's what we need and we got it oh my goodness wow I'm actually kind of surprised at how easy those were but I didn't know what we had to do at the beginning so we missed the first one which is so sad so sad hey but is this going to be the end now I did not expect that we would have any levels like this I thought that all the levels would be just the cubes that we normally have but we actually have something so different and so unique over here I'm shocked that we have a level like this this is so different oh can we go through that crack over there maybe but another level complete so that's good we'll take it spin wheel Bullet Bill base is the next level over here oh it's getting a bit more complicated now so let's have a look at how this will work we can grab this now what are we rotating okay we could rotate that and that you know what actually let's come back like this then we could grab that diamond with which will be lovely cuz if we see a diamond why not grab it now do we want to go up that way it looks like we can't go up that way yet let's come up here yeah I don't think we can continue to the right yet so let's go here first he let's not get grabbed by those oh spin me right round baby let's go okay so we can make those break that those bullet bills yeah they'll now break that oh wait and will they collect the diamond for me or no I don't know if bullet bills can collect the diamond for me no they can't okay what if I make you guys shoot this way oh they'll probably break those blocks now right right will you break the blocks let's see okay good good good they're starting to break those blocks so now we can rotate this and now we'll be able to continue up here and drop down now wait what are you guys going to do do you want to drop down on those boxes oh nice there's a mushroom there if we need it oh I'm guessing you die if you go into the lava immediately though oh boy okay yeah I saw the bullet B was about to spawn there so I was a little afraid now wait can I yeah I can make this rotate oh that's so tricky though okay there we go we got it we got it it worked okay cuz yeah you want to rotate this so that the Bullet Bill hits that stone block over here and we can grab this wait how am I going to get up there how in the world am I going to get up there oh I could actually just walk past that I didn't realize that I could walk past that wait where do we go to complete the level don't hurt me wait look at this mushroom just going back and forth here how long is it going to go like that and wait how in the world do we get up there now yeah I'd like to go up please how do we go up how does one go up I'd like to go up a bit higher oh oh wait I almost made it hurt me h i see if we rotate it like this then we can make our way into there we can go through this staircase actually wow that's actually really cool how that works oh now this one how does this rotation work oh and then at the end you can choose to get a star like that if you want but you know what let's just go and get the final Diamond first okay let's go like this and we can make our way up wait what music is playing let me hear for a [Music] second it kind of sounds like music that you'd hear playing in a castle level like this well it seems like a castle level cuz the floor is lava and whatnot okay but I don't know if we can walk off the edge is because in the past Captain Toad levels when I tried to walk off the edge there's an invisible wall preventing us from walking off the edge which was great but now oh wait do I have to go through this whole thing again yeah because we jumped down there okay so we have to go through this again but now I don't know if we could actually drop down off of the level or not hopefully we can't oh boy we were hurt by the bull pill it'd be so sad if the clear condition the bonus clear condition was don't get hurt by the bullet bills because you didn't get hurt the whole time until this happened until the very end over here when I tried to rush a little bit okay I hope those don't hurt me okay so let's just wait for them to go by and now we just grab this star and there we go the level is complete and we got all the diamonds so that is good oh collected the gold mushroom I didn't see the gold mushroom that's so sneaky I don't want to do the same level again oh you can exit course you have to hit minus instead of plus ah oh and look at this you need a certain amount of diamonds to unlock this level it seems the king of pyropuff peak and you know what so these diamonds are kind of like green stars then okay and that looks like it's going to be a boss fight kind of is really interesting what are boss fights going to be like in this game okay there's Captain Toad looking around and let's see okay we could probably use these screens as defense mechanisms from his attacks guy's probably going to try and blow out fire at us hey Captain Toad's looking a little scared right now run my bro good job good job hiding back there okay and back here are just coins attack I'm just going to hide here now I'm going to run by now you're not going to get me again ha I'm going to hide behind this screen I'll be safe back here okay and let's just hide back here and then after that we can come up for the diamond get it and then we probably want to hide back here again oh and the part that's coming up is really interesting because you want to be careful where you climb if we if we climb up too high then maybe we'll get hurt if we hide behind that one oh actually we can just climb up all the way so that doesn't matter and what are you going to do I'm running maybe I should have waited but I'm running I'm running let's go my might come back for that one just to see what it is is it a mushroom oh the lava is coming up actually never mind the lava's coming up higher and higher nope I don't care about that then I do not care about that what's this what is this I pulled it out already okay let's come down here then oh boy the lava's coming up and we got to watch out for this stuff I don't know if the lava can catch up to hope not he let's climb up I don't know if the lava chases you based on how high you are oh boy get it get it toad get it oh we bonked him on his head oh boy I hope we don't fall into the lava oh boy goodbye it actually reminds me so much of one of the bosses from Donkey Kong 64 when he bubbles up like that boy he was in that lava the whole time so does this really bug him oh that is so cool we go and collect this star while we are on the nose of this guy but wait we only got one Diamond over here where were the other diamonds they must have been quite hidden or maybe I was quite distracted cuz I was trying to not die collected 45 coins yeah we achieved that one okay that's cool at least we got that okay let's go to the next Next Level 10 levels complete the hunt for the great Bird's Lair wait oh oh we could actually go to this whoa whoa this is interesting wait if I hold this button do I run faster I'm guessing you run faster if you hold X or Y cuz it seems like we're going kind of fast now so let's see where are we going to go what's going to happen are we going to catch up to that bird because we do want to rescue Toadette right and we're just camping by a fire over here this is what Captain Toad is known for doing and Super Mario Odyssey is as well and wait aren't there oh look over there there's the bird there's the bird we just reach our hand over was like oh no I missed my chance guys have you ever missed your chance on anything he let's keep going the next level piranha creeper Cove instead of piranha creeper creek I love all the references to Super Mario 3D World oh and something that I was about to say is isn't there DLC for this game and I think it's different maybe it's different on the Nintendo switch and on the Wii U cuz I think this game is also on the Wii U whoa are you an enemy can I pick you up though oh I can pick you up like this oh where am I going to throw you my bro but yeah isn't there DLC based on Super Mario 3D World levels and Mario Odyssey levels in this game let's see do we want to defeat these guys or no let's try this let's stand here oh and it's nice that there no that there's no timer here also throw okay nice we defeated probably like onethird of the game what we did here maybe half of the game I wonder how many of those books there are because it seems like that's the first book that we completed but there must be more books based on the work of the original Wii U version development and localization stuff yeah it's so cool how so much of this game is based on Super Mario 3D World from the Wii U you can see that they have the same warp boxes a bunch of the levels have similar names and there are a bunch of assets that's seem very similar fantastic game I enjoyed it very much but yeah let's see what else is there going to be here because there has to be more than this there has to be a lot more than this and I really like the music over here it's so cool that Captain Toad actually got his own game I wonder what people think of this game what are people's first impressions of this game when you first heard that there was a captain Toad game what did you think of that cuz Captain Toad he originally going to be another level that is 100% complete and that is going to be fantastic so let's grab that and very nice level I love this level too so many of these levels I keep saying this is my favorite level but that one is also my favorite level yeah found the hidden gold mushroom that's so nice that we got that oh I was in Montreal recently and I saw in a menu there was something called Pond and I was wondering what is that it sounds like golden bread is that what that means and that's what they call French toast which is kind of interesting and now double Cherry spires is up next man these levels are just so good okay so oh oh oh so these red ones probably mean that you need both switches pressed together at the same time to activate them that's probably what that means let's see let's collect this star now hooray and we're both very happy that we collected it I guess this is the final level of the game probably oh wait but aren't there also DLC levels I might have to do that after if there are some oh man and here we go okay so this must be the end of the game I'm guessing this is going to be the credits over here let's see what it shows oh we're going into a minecart I wonder if this is going to be like Super Smash Bros where you can hit the targets wait oh well I can't aim or hit a oh man but that's cool what a fun game these puzzles in this game are actually so much fun you know what this game actually reminds me of this game very slightly reminds me of the Legend of Zelda four Swords Adventure which I will have to play through sometime in the near future future I'm actually planning on playing that sometime soon that is a game on the Nintendo GameCube actually and I remember as a kid getting the GameCube and the GameCube was being advertised at the time as being sold with Mario Kart Double Dash and I thought that'd be so cool I'd love to get the game Mario Kart Double Dash and it just comes with the GameCube so I can play Mario Kart but it actually didn't come with that game the GameCube that we got was actually bundled with the game The Legend of Zelda four Swords Adventure it's kind of similar to that one Nintendo 3DS game I believe it's Legend of Zelda Triforce heroes or something I haven't played that game but I did get that game there are a few Nintendo 3DS games that I have gotten over the last few months but I haven't had a chance to play them yet I got a bunch of Pokémon games that I haven't had a chance to play yet I should play some more Pokémon on my channel it's funny that my YouTube profile picture has Pokemon in it I've got Pokémon in the background at least it currently does at this time it might not in the future but so many of my videos are all Mario based but yeah I do videos about all kinds of things cuz
