Cannon Mouse Trap - The World's Craziest Mouse Trap. Mousetrap Monday

fire in the hole today for mousetrap Monday I'm going to show you the all-time craziest mousetrap that I've ever seen it was invented by YouTube viewer named Richard and it's a cannon a cannon mousetrap he put a lot of time into this it has batteries a circuit board 3d printed parts and a barrel you put the peanut butter down the barrel the mouse will climb in there and a plunger will shoot it out it reminds me of an ad that used to run to my YouTube videos by tom cat called dead mouse theater there in one of the skits they shoot a mouse out a tailpipe it's not the most practical mousetrap but by far it's the most fun let me show you how this works starting with the barrel is made out of PVC pipe and you can adjust the angle to aim it on the side is an infrared transmitter a sensor and four mirrors they make a beam pattern inside the barrel anything that breaks that beam pattern will set off the cannon if you turn it this way you can see a pusher plate connected to a piston that's what shoots out the mouse never stick your fingers in there under the barrel is a battery pack it takes eight double-a batteries to turn it around you can see the electronics a circuit board right here there's an on/off switch and two lights with buttons this one says fire and this one says power level now when you turn it on you'll see the blinking pattern change now you can adjust the power level between 1 and 10 every time you push this knob you can adjust the level up when the infrared beam inside the barrel is broken it activates a Silla note which hits a pressure release valve on the magazine the magazine is from an airsoft and it has a tank that holds about 5 grams of propane to remove it you unscrew the back slide it out and they have special fuel to recharge it right there depending on the power level you can fire this between 10 and 20 times before refilling well go ahead and load it up nice and secure we'll turn it on wait for the pattern to change right there now we'll set it for level 10 the maximum level 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 okay it's ready to go we'll shoot it somewhere with our toy mouse and then we'll go set it up in the barn with motion cameras and try to get some wild mice or maybe rats fire in the hole now at the lower level this is much more gentle it'll just hit the net and drop down basket well it's been fun shooting our toy mouse but we're gonna go set this up in the barn with motion cameras and try to get real mice or rats I put peanut butter down in the barrel and a ramp they'll climb up there go down in the barrel and end up in the bucket that Network perfectly let's go catch some mice and rats with the cannon mousetrap we have success on the first night the rats were way too smart for the cannon mousetrap they wouldn't go up the ramp or down the barrel so on the second night I moved the trap to the barn and the my smelled of peanut butter they got shot out the barrel hit the net and dropped in the bucket but when that happened the ramp fell down when the trap jolted so on the third night I taped it down and I caught three mice one after another they went up there dropped down hit the net and became cannonballs and I put just a little bit of oil in there so a slippery they can't jump out but they seem to be doing fine these are the non-native house mice so I'm going to keep them as pets will clean them up give them a nice home well overall the canon mouse traps the craziest mouse trap i ever tested it's not the most practical but by far it's the most fun thank you so much to Richard for sending me your canon mouse trap the two main problems are sometimes that misfires in light so it has to be really dark also at jolts so the ramp falls down that was easily fixed with a little tape on the ramp now if you haven't subscribed to my channel yet please consider clicking the button right there I posted over 500 videos on YouTube and currently in posting new videos every Monday and Friday so if you want to see how to catch mice rats squirrels chipmunks moles voles and Gophers and other crazy mousetrap designs stay tuned

I wonder why airsoft stuff often uses propane(green gas). Co2 and nitrogen work equally well, aren't flammable, and I would hope not such an absurd markup. Filling your BBQ propane tank at the rates these airsoft cans sell for would cost ~$400.

It's right up there with the premixed 2cycle(weedeater) fuel that people buy for fucking $60 a gallon!
