Can You EAT A Whole KELP FOREST In Hardcore Subnautica?

I'm kind of hungry [Music] man hello my friends and welcome back to restaurant 4546b I'm your headship and is anybody else hungry tonight I am and whenever I feel the rumbles in my T me on planet for 546b there's only one place you turn to and that's kelp I was recently playing the Super hardcore Ultra difficult deathrun 2.0 mod Link in the description if you're curious and I was devouring quite a sizable amount of this Green Goodness along the way and it got me thinking is it possible to take your knife take your hungry tummy and devour an entire kelp forest in the game from border to border well that's a stupid question but today we're going to find out now it All Began in Creative doing a bit of experimenting when you slice the creep Vine you can eventually destroy it after about you know give or take eight slices interestingly enough though if you use the no damage command this actually won't happen you can just kind of keep slicing forever each creep Vine sampler will give you three food and one water and curiously the pace at which you destroy them actually seems connected to how much damage you deal in testing I decided to set my action button as my scroll wheel so that I could cut a little bit faster and easier I got this one from the speedrunners thank you so much salvner and I also figured out that if you use the insta gibum and you will actually slice down kelp in a single slice now I won't be doing this because it feels a little bit like cheating but I did also try experimenting with the heat blade and unfortunately it doesn't really seem to deal any more damage than the regular knife so we'll be sticking with the good old trustworthy blade now with experimenting over it was time to hop in and because everybody always complains that I do these in creative and not in survival guess what we're doing it in survival and because I'm afraid of un installing the death run mod while I have my other run in progress we're doing it with the death run mod enabled this is just a great idea so my life pod spawned on this sort of shelf on the edge of a killed Forest which is quite nice but alas we will not be eating this one this might also be the most luck I've ever had in the game a time capsule spawned right outside my life pod and some absolute Chad actually gifted me a cuttlefish egg which I will continue to carry with me for the entire rest of the challenge of course now I sort of went through all the regular motions of course I would need a knife I knew I would need some oxygen tanks to be able to survive and I knew that once the aora explodes because of the radiation I would also need a radiation suit and some pipes and an air pump the knife came first then an oxygen tank then another time capsule like 20 M from my lifeb what is going on this one was super cool got the repulsion Cannon and a bunch of materials but alas I won't really be needing most of that so oh well KN had fallen but I was able to CFT the the high-capacity O2 tank I quickly made myself a pair of fins just to be able to swim a bit faster or at least I would have had I had enough power now I remember why this mod is so much pain Al so I sat around doing absolutely nothing for a while and then I finally had the air pump I finally had the pipes and I was ready to set off on a big adventure it's very important to pick which kelp forest we're going to be eating since you know I can't do all of them across the entire map luckily I did some scouring around in creative earlier and I had picked the one which is the closest to the back of the Aurora now that might sound like a terrible idea but before you judge me consider that this entire video is a terrible idea having arrived at the kelp forest of my choice there was no putting it off swam down and I started slicing now as far as activities in subnotica go this might not be the most stimulating one but it is definitely a fing one and both my hunger and my thirst were quickly getting quenched I was slowly progressing a little deeper into the forest cutting into the chunkier and larger creep Vines I didn't really find a massive correlation between how many slices a creep Vine takes versus how big it is sometimes the biggest ones would come down in just a couple of slices while the smallest ones would take like the full you know seven eight or nine it is quite cool looking around even just now you can see the forest slowly thinning out and some of it already being empty the biome looks quite strange without any help as you might expect but the hardcore mod obviously made it quite annoying since I had to continuously surface slowly keeping an eye on the NY bar and on top of that I knew that once the Aurora exploded I'd be in for a heck of a bad time at this point a little reefy friend decided to join me I cut down this GRE Vine so it's not in his way and I think he was appreciative of that you can now see glimpses of what I already left in my wake it looks quite cool but there's a lot more K Forest to go here you can even see with the f command off that really gives you a sense of kind of the scale of how much I've devoured once the night had fallen and I got deeper into the forest I started getting chased around by some unsaver inhabitants but luckily usually a few pokes of the knife would deter them from pursuing me further but the grind continued I chopped and ate all throughout the night into the morning sunrise this area here in particular is quite deceptive because at first it looks like there isn't that much kelp but because there multiple levels and it goes quite deep there's a bunch of these stalks which grow you know under arches or in small caves so you can't immediately see all of them here I'm doing a little flyby just with fream to kind of show you how much I've already eaten and it looks pretty strange just wait till we're done with this thing but oh no then the message appeared 8 and 1/2 minutes to go before I was going to have a bad time so I put my head down and I kept on slicing now about 4 minutes later I kind of realize that you know I have to find a place to survive the blast because again on the ultra Hardcore Mode if I'm not at least 100 m deep and you know with some cover when the explosion happens I will be toast I'll be torn to shreds so I found the nearest entrance into the jelly shroom cave and plugged in a small system of pipes down there and with about 10 seconds left I finally decided to swim down and get myself into cover luckily the explosion does not happen exactly when you hit 0000 also was that another freaking Time Capsule the ship went poof I got slammed against the wall but at last I was alive unfortunately everything else was now irradiated including the surface I tried retrieving my pipe but unfortunately I was so close to the Aurora that already here everything was so radioactive so I had to really rush to the top grab pretty much everything as fast as I could and as quickly as possible make my way back down because I could not survive that level of radiation for long I knew that what I had to do was craft the radiation suit so I swam right back to my life pod I built that bad boy using you never would have guessed this more kelp and with it I swam right back to my half eaten Forest so yeah we're back to this fun effect for now I did occasionally have to disable the fog just to kind of see how much progress I was making but the grind and the eating continued you might be curious at this point you know how fast do these things respawn well I'm not exactly sure but what I can say is that in the entire time it took me to eat this place none of the creep Vines from the beginning had respawned so they take a while and after many gring in-game days of doing nothing but cussing and devouring kelp it was done I ate my final piece so ladies and gentlemen here it is this is what a kelp forest looks like when you've cut and eaten all of the kelp in it if anybody wants to go into the comments and do the calculation for how many calories this would be I be super curious you know it is bulking season on the 4546b but even I imagine this might be a little bit extreme but for anybody else I am of course still working on the ultra Hardcore death run challenge this is just a little something fun to sprinkle in between so I seriously hope you guys enjoyed and if you did maybe
