how's it going everyone in today's video we're gonna see if we can beat all of sorry extra mode without ever equipping a single accessory and yes this means no wings no Hermes boots no I frame ZnO extra defense or damage reduction nothing of that sort and armor for those wondering does not count as an accessory I had people wondering that and then yak nor does Nordic grapples now I added quite a few extra rules that don't really have anything to do with the no accessory rule this just basically comes down to the fact that mobility is key in this game and if you've lack it it's very hard to get around and dodge bosses and do all these boss fights especially in expert mode so this is why things like mounts grab potions and teleporters were also not allowed because then you just kind of resort to the more I guess quote-unquote cheesy methods of beating bosses which we're trying to avoid here it's very difficult to avoid for some bosses which you will see but for the most part we're gonna be just sticking to the grappling hook and not using things like grab potions and such because that would make the boss fights a lot easier alright so after getting some really basic materials and weapons we found the water bolt and got some basic armor our first stop was basically to the crimsoned in order to get a musket saj Undertaker we're playing with quality of life mods on so we can actually switch the two but yeah that is our first stop here in the playthrough now the main things I want to get before going into our first boss fight was a grappling hook which I kind of hinted at would be very important in the first part of this video and a decent range weapon which turns out to be the musket we could use the water bolt but our mana is just not great right now I didn't have any mana regions and I didn't feel like getting them but yeah without further ado here is the king slime no accessories fight make sure I used a bunch of and oh my god that just did 47 - now let's get a teleport [Music] oh it's gonna tell it for it Oh God oh I didn't get mad apportions that was dumb oh wait this is fine though this is fine it no matter what this boss is easy I can literally just walk away from it on your only challenge when soon with friend fun though it is fun I just don't think I want to make content on it that's the thing all right where this is easy this is easy you know with even with no accessories it's still easy and we're allowed to have our NPCs help and kill it too in this run which I'm happy about don't worry about that these last words you can literally cannot die to this boss like it's impossible that's just your first time playing the game is you just can't die to it so yeah as I was saying it's pretty hard to mess up pink slime ice even with the challenge like no accessories so while it did get fairly scary towards the end we managed to do it without too many issues next up we mined for some platinum or in order to get some platinum armor now because there's no accessories there's not a whole ton I'm going to be done in between but what we do manage to find is a boomstick over in the jungle together with the boomstick and the Platinum armor we find ourselves more than ready to take on the ICO to do okay so the first phase is pretty simple there's not a whole lot going on here but again as soon as we hit that second phase it's going to suck a lot and the main reason for that is because I have to focus a lot of my effort and brainpower to just avoid alcohol with the grappling hook which means it's hard to get shots in and consistently dodge at the same time and all around is just a weird way of moving around like relying on your grapple in order to dodge things which is why I wanted to do this playthrough because this is something you don't normally do and of course the play pretty much a completely different way than usual it's sorry to hit the boss and like not die at the same time okay I think we I think I think I know what to do I think I know what to do huh maybe I don't maybe I don't let me just try and melt this thing oh my god what's happening Big Chief rayon thank you huh no no tight okay God okay so next up we are actually going to take a look at the brain of cthulu now we didn't actually get any gear really we have the same armor set same weapons obviously there's no accessories to grind for so right after the I basically just went straight over to the crimson in order to make our little basic arena for the fight and yet we're all set oh it spawned on that side oh that's fun oh there we go it's alright we're good we're cool were cool alright cool also I should buff that's definitely something I should do all right this should be pretty straightforward I don't think we're gonna have any troubles with this boss yes especially with the water bowl it's and then the the boomstick we should be okay oh no oh no oh no oh no wait hold on no we're fine we're still left fallout 4 smoke it's it honestly like the spiders are just probably the most equal difficult part of the spots and be honest like the actual the creepers not no no that the boss itself no it's just the enemies that spawn on the side that's that's where the difficulty comes from that's where the knack you fun fact I don't actually know the you know what like teleports and stuff I don't actually know the this is a sequence right I don't actually know it because I always just looked at the map right and I always play corruption anyways so yeah I don't know what but I mean you can kind of like still easily tell anyways so I think actually okay they add them at the end there I had no clue but I mean it's dead it's dead we're good we're cool and yeah with that the brain crew has been taken out there wasn't really a reason going into this world choosing crimson I actually just said it's random I couldn't really find anything like for or against either biome so I was okay with either-or again normally it would be whether I cared about the worm scarf or not so usually I go corruption but this time around doesn't really matter so we got crimson and that's all good so next up we have the queen bee now I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to go with in terms of armor I was pretty sure that the boomstick and the water bolt would kind of get the job done but just in case I went in and got some meteorites got the space gun and the meteorite armor if we need to rely on that and admittedly the queen bee actually took a couple attempts to get because as the fire rate on the stingers starts to increase it actually gets very very difficult to dodge without any sort of accessories so we rely on base movement speed and grappling it now another thing I want to point out is that you were to get the Goblin tinkerer by now around now for sure sometimes you can get earlier on no accessory means no reef orders and no reef or just obviously means no prefixes like warding and menacing which are both very very useful in that where you play through you can get a max of 24 defense in extra mode or 24 percent damage which is again very very useful we'd only get 20 defense because we're still in pre har mode but still 20 defense is like the same amount as our armor so we'd effectively double our defense just by having accessories on and of course there's like things like warm scarves so overall not only do we have less movement but we also have less defense or damage which puts us at a severe disadvantage to what we would normally have at this point in time or you know just not that's cool I guess not again not again we should be okay god oh my god I almost died again you can't so like insane at that last phase dude that's oh it's too much alright so after the first kill I went ahead and did the queen bee fight quite a few more times and this so is basically just because I wanted to give beam AIDS because I figured beam AIDS would be really really useful in the upcoming Skeletron fight that's because a beam aids are busted as lot Z no beans are really really good and B the more important reason is because in order to dodge Skeletron we have to be using our grapple pretty much 24/7 which means we won't really be able to have our cursor anywhere near Skeletron throughout the whole entire fight so BN aids allow us to actually get a really good damage on the boss while continuing to grapple away from Skeletron and before getting to the Skeletron fight I actually ended up getting the molten armor because I figured defense is basically just what we need if we take a few stray hits I just want to be able to have as much bulk and tank as possible to just survive this fight for as long as I can because again the beam aides should be able to shred Skeletron fairly quickly in a reasonable amount of time so as long as we're just not dying we should be okay now another thing that's very important for this fight again is because we are relying on a grapple we want a good grapple so our best bet was to go with the IV whip which was pretty easy to make we actually had all the materials already at the base but as you can see the strategy going into this again is just run away spam as many beans down as we can and just hope for the best and it actually ended up working pretty well by no means was it easy but with a little bit of time and effort it wasn't getting used to the grappling hook mechanics and it should get maneuvering around the arena we managed to actually do pretty well in this fight now I should probably mention how a kind of this work so basically if you grapple some platforms and you jump right as you're passing through them you won't stop and you'll just keep all of that momentum going kind of if you ever seen I mean most probably most of you seen if you grapple the door and then open the door you go flying it's the same sort of concept just with platforms and it's much easier to maneuver around with this way it's just it's all just a matter of timing and making sure you jump at the right moment in order to keep all the momentum because if you do screw up while Skeletron spinning and it's really close you pretty much just die he's really slow what I was literally just walking therefore but hey there we go there we go just like that of course it had to be the one where I didn't remember the shine or the night owl so I'm gonna get more people complaining about how they can't see let's go G cheese and of course the last boss in between us and mode is the wall of flesh now this strategy's pretty much just like any other realistically the only slightly scary part would be near the end of the fight if again we have no Hermes boots so we might just not be fast enough but in theory beam aids should be able to just kind of melt the wall of flesh again we're employing the same method of just grappling through these platforms in order to get a little bit of extra distance once the wall flesh actually starts to speed up that's when we're going to once again kinda have to worry about whether we can actually outrun this boss but overall not too hard of a fight should have this beating it's a broken Feeney's or busted can use it beautiful oh god oh god yeah why doesn't everyone just always grab a beat it's so good it's so good it's so good there we go there we go easy yeah very easy that was way easier than uh than Skeletron 100% cuz we just have to go in a straight line and it couldn't handle our just insane speed with the grapple okay so now that we're in our mode the first thing to do is to get the storm boat because while the storm Boies as you all know also very broken and very very strong and we're going to definitely need a very strong weapon in order to do this challenge now the other thing I want to point out is that normally in our mode we would be getting wings like almost right off the bat but of course no accessories which means no wings which also means we will always have fall damage so that's fun in addition to this we will always have knock-back we always take knock-back there's no way to be immune to it with the cobalt shield or any of its upgrades so yeah it's uh it becomes very annoying because normally knock back is something you kind of deal with in pre or mode but you're fine and okay near the end of its lush into her mode for us we'll always have it and we'll have to just deal with it in this playthrough now in terms of destroyer we all noticed like the storm boat just kind of destroys the destroyer but yeah I did I'm gonna be honest I mean you can see right now we did use the rope strat with the storm bow I'm not proud of it but I mean did I need to do that probably not but you'll see actually kind of screwed us over the way I built this rope and that's because the probes kept hitting us off because again we take knocked back and I almost died a few times but because the storm was so broken we were never really in huge danger unless we kind of fell down which was again close to happening quite a few times but yeah I mean the barrage of lasers and the probes and everything made this actually still I couldn't just like not pay attention I had to kind of try but don't worry the majority of the boss fights will not go like this as you saw from the previous ones okay okay okay everyone needs to chill everyone needs to chill everyone needs to chill all right yep yep yep I know I know you're angry I know you're angry I know you're really angry but it's fine it's just what happened this is just just let it all happen okay all you got to do all you got to do to box notes have the rope yeah I'll be a dummy that would be nice about him instead of been very smart actually but working okay of course the word storm bow is kind of broken alright so next up I was playing on fighting the twins so I ended up actually getting the spider arm roads which is something I don't usually get but I figured if we are grappling again to get away from bosses summons should prove to be pretty useful because they can continue to get some chip damage while we kind of just get away because again anything where we at the point our cursor at the boss going to be that all that effective because it won't be getting any use for the majority of the fight now the cool thing about this challenge again is we get to get pretty creative with our arenas now I guess barring the last fight that you just saw but if you look at this one I think we found something pretty cool now this was avenged well this was supposed to be designed for the twins but I actually had Skeletron prime just kind of spawn out of nowhere so we first tried it on skeleton Brian basically how this works is we have two platforms or two stacks of platforms on either side with water in the middle so we grapple up one while shooting down the storm bow and her summons attack the boss and then we fall down at the water Skeletron Brian will jump down or I guess fall down after us and then we start gobbling up the other one and we kind of do this little figure eight I guess a movement around through this arena and it was actually a lot of fun to design in it what I was really surprised that I'd actually ended up working quite well so yeah again just utilizing the whole grapple through the platform jumps you keep your momentum and it works surprisingly pretty well for this boss okay alright so again that arena that you just saw is used for Skeletron prime was originally designed for the twins but after actually trying it on the twins it did not not work whatsoever so we needed to come up with something different now basically the only thing that we could come up with that would work was without breaking any of the rules was make a shark plus asphalt platform and then kind of just run away from it and we actually have to do this for one more boss fight in this playthrough unfortunately but it's basically the only thing that I could come up with in order to kind of defeat these bosses and I know it kind of again the big reason for no accessories is like lack of like a movement in my opinion asphalt kind of bypasses this like completely so I was kind of bummed out that we have to resort to the strategy but I mean in order to continue the run you got to do what you got to do basically so yeah there's that and again there is no rule against using asphalt I just figured that I would prefer not to use it now that being said this was by no means easy it was very difficult to kind of avoid all the lasers and everything and keeper will fire momentum up and her movement I guess because as the twins come in and as they start hitting you you lose all the movement speed you once had so it was quite difficult to and the same with jumping same with jumping at least on some of those frozen ice blocks so it was difficult to do the fight for sure but eventually we do get it after a few tries let's go alright so the next boss fight is of course plantera now this is a boss I've struggled with in the past a little bit in normal playthroughs definitely one of the harder ones for me but usually it's not too bad so this time around we need a pretty creative way of doing things so what we eventually end up doing is a little bit of a water arena so we have just a huge box filled with water we're gonna be using flipper potions and the Gil's potion and together we can just move around like that and in order to get some more better horizontal movement we once again are using the hook so we hooked to get horizontal movement and we use the flipper potion just to kinda go up and down in the water and it works pretty well now in terms of gear of course glorified shop Oh turtle armor with the glorified helmet is kind of the way to go again I don't really care too much about damage who's the shop foe as you can see is doing more than enough especially with the a core that we're applying with the Mega Shark so I have to firm or defense rather than the damage so because I got damaged izing a seat we're doing more than enough it's just a matter of not dying it's a blood Sara as I said the water arena did work out pretty well but again plant air is very scary especially with no accessories and no knock-back immunity so once you kind of get hit you are screwed like you get juggled and you take a lot of damage so one slip-up can you cost you the whole fight so it actually is again still very difficult but doable and manageable with this water arena without this I don't think there'd be a way to really do this fight I mean I guess maybe asphalt but you probably need some way of getting back around but yeah the watering up it did its job very close fight but there's plenty rrah I'm getting so lucky I'm getting so lucky dude is it dead oh that was so close that was actually so cool hey we did it we did it see I just got you just need a little bit of luck all right so next up is Gollum and while it is expert mode there isn't a whole lot to say about this fight it's just it's just Gollum so yeah same strata a platform above and then start shooting it with anything really we didn't really change your gear whatsoever so right after plantera we head straight into the temple and take on the Gollum oh that's that one so the heads gonna be really annoying alright so next up is Duke fish run and we really have to prepare for this fight because there's a lot of things we got to do to make sure this works um and just to be efficient cuz of course it's Duke fish strong right so what we end up doing is get the specter armor we got both the mask and the hood that way we can interchange the two but that's it for armor now in terms of weapons I settled for the razor pine or a surprise really really good so we hit up the frost moon finally in order to make this whole strategy work against Duke fish Ron we need to get the anti-gravity hook and that is a drop from the Martian saucers so we do end up doing the Martian madness event now here's the thing about this idea right so everyone was asking me how are you going to do Duke fish Ron do fish on sounds like a nightmare in know accessories terraria ex promotion and for the whole playthrough I wasn't worried because I remembered about almost three years back now very close your'e me actually uploaded a video on fighting 10 and rage Duke fish Ron's in hell right and I figured if he can do ten I can do one but basically the strategy was to use the anti-gravity hook and just circle around a platform or really anything could be a block and you could just fight do fish run because the only reason why this works is because the enraged dude fish run does not use projectiles the only like way I could even think of doing this fight in expert mode I think it's it might even be a deal I don't want to say it's the only way possible but it'd be very very difficult to do it any other way let's just put it that way so I settled for this I know this is definitely the more one of the more cheesy strats that we've use but I mean it's interesting it's interesting to showcase so yeah there's the anti-gravity hook Duke fish run fight again all you'd have to do to fix this is while Duke fish runs enraged it just also has projectiles and fires and then it would not work at all and this takes a very long time because of the buff stats and while its enraged but yeah it's just basically me circling around using the razor pine eventually switch onto the mask and the fight goes a little bit faster again apologize for the cheesy strats there's gonna be one more cheesy cheesy boss fight coming up I mean you can probably guess which one out of the two that are left but there's Duke Fisher on again like I mean I hate to do it to do Fisher on it is my favorite boss fate but again I don't know how they would get past this boss without resorting to this sort of strategy after this insane strategy that requires so much insane movement hey there we go guys we cheesed it so bad but hey that's literally the only I think that is the only way I can beat Duke later on with with what we're doing here next up we are going straight into the lumens occultus fight the only thing we got to do is have the razor blade typhoon so again since we are using some quality-of-life mugs we can actually switch the drops we'll have to do the boss fight again obviously I could grind the do fish on fight more just saves time but because we have the antigravity look it actually makes it a lot easier to dodge some of these now lunatic cultus actually is fairly difficult with this strategy because again no knock back no extra defense and we're kind of squished where and we're kind of squishy being a mage so without the razorblade typhoon we were kind of screwed but yeah because we have again we get to utilize this tracking weapon and we have this hook that is very very handy in just dodging in all sorts of situations because you have that full motion and that full movement available at 360 degrees and even in between if you set down multiple anchors so it's very very useful in a really really cool hook to be using a button like is it just me or have you guys never seen this piece of text before situation hey there we go we're about to get destroyed by the solar pillars so no I'm gone I'm gone I'm out but we did it we did it everyone and with that we can now move on to the pillars now there wasn't there's not too much to go over here it just took basically longer we died more than usual again just because we lack mobility we take knock-back and we take way more damage than usual / are doing way less damage than usual so yeah again not too much to go over there are the pillars but now let's talk about moon Lords so the first attempt that I tried to do was mimicking that sort of water arena that we use for plantera and I quickly found that it was not a very realistic strategy to be trying and it was so much so that I just I just got bodied I got so destroyed by Moon Lord without result like kind of going for a cheesy strat that yeah I just I wasn't even sure if this was doable and then I remembered we could use asphalt blocks so yeah basically what I ended up doing was making this massive sky bridge across the world with asphalt blocks I had multiple layers because at first I was going to change the players every so often but I managed to get around that and it kind of works a little bit now while this is incredibly cheesy because we completely ignore the phantasmal death ray it kind of had to be done now I will point out that we did actually end up switching to beetle Armour once again we need a more tank and I started using phantasm which is very important and the start is regen so basically the way this works is we spawned in Moon Lord we start shooting it the we start shooting the hands with the phantasm and we just have to run so we have to find the middle ground like this absolute sweet spot between when a moon Lord will teleport and when the eyes and stuff get too close and start hitting us because once we again once we start getting juggle but we just we die we die we can't we can't do anything about it we just take too much damage and we don't do enough damage in the in a like decent amount of time so the first part is pretty straightforward we just run away and start shooting alright so this is where things start to get a little bit tricky so now that we've popped the two eyeballs on the hands we basically have to try of cthulhu's after us like at all times so again the way we get around this is by running away to the point where they get so far behind from Moon Lord that we don't really have to worry about them too much again I know it's very cheesy but you got to do what you got to do I'd rather do this than the nurse strats because you'll see this is actually fairly difficult as you as we get through this fight but basically what we do is we run away now yet again be careful because if pneumo teleports the true eyes also teleport with him so you get make a screwed over if it's outlook for its of IX and so again you got to watch out for that but in terms of hitting the eye what we end up doing is just setting our starters regen onto onto the top I've and then just kind of hoping that it works now the other issue in this strategy is moving around and turning the opposite direction because I've never knew this but apparently Moon Lord's hands have hit boxes so then we're the little eye pops out those are hip boxes so I actually have to jump over because remember we are not immune to knock back which means I have to jump over the hands and again the pretty big hit boxes it's a pretty hard jump to make and if the longer we screw it up the more chances the true eyes have a chance to come and catch up to us and if we get hit by those true I go through lasers again they do about 200 plus damage to us so it's not something we can really sustain so while I'm not saying this is difficult because I realize I'm hard cheesing this boss it is still fairly not straight for it I got to use a little bit of my brain power I just got a time my jumps and make sure I don't get hit just again if we do get trapped things start to get sticky you'll see what happens kind of when I mess up so right here you will see that way I get stuck in the middle now I'm just waiting for the top by to go down I'm using a little bit of the solar eruption things are going fine now I just gotta kind of bide my time and wait but eventually I will have to turn around and again this is where the whole thing can just end in a second so once I need to turn around once we hit the edge of the world I gotta jump over I gotta jump over both the projectiles and both hands which actually is quite difficult when you're also trying to dodge the other projectiles they are coming your way because if you dodge those you will kind of stop your speed and momentum and that means it'll be very hard to get around but again we can do it without too much trouble but we're going to have to turn back around at least once more in this fight so yeah it's just a very kind of endurance based fight can you keep up and not like you just totally screw up because yeah if you get stuck in the middle with the treu eyes after you it is pretty much game over now because we're relying on basically just phantasm holy arrow straight hits as well as the stardust dragon it takes a while but around ten minutes after starting the fight we actually have the core opening up so we are ready to end this thing now again we just have to play it safe don't do anything too stupid or too risky and when it comes down to this next turn around right here just make sure we get it cuz if we get this turn around we should have enough track left to finish the fight now it's weird because while this fight isn't particularly again difficult by any means it was still very suspenseful knowing that in this moment if we mess up we just died and again the fight takes about 20 minutes the pillars took at least an hour so to redo this there's a lot of time the investment that is required in order to do so but we hit the turn around and we successfully get past Moon Lord so at this point I thought I was good unfortunately eventually we actually get hit back into the middle this time I severely struggle with getting out it takes me quite a while I start getting battered by projectiles from the true eyes it was looking like I could die here again cuz if you just actually look at how much damage is doing and there's actually seriously a way that I just straight-up died right at this moment but we make it fast again everyone here it's pretty much just smooth sail to the the finish it's not many more mishaps happen I have to really screw up in order to like get back into the hands or just like stop focusing come on let's go let's go we cheesed it we cheesed it we cheesed it but that's okay that's okay you know what it's all good because I know deep down that I had to do this for the run it was worth it was still intense it was still hard we had to deal with hitboxes on the moonlit hand that I did not even know existed and with that we have now beaten terraria without ever using an accessory once I'd say the main struggles of this challenge were slow movement speed we could only walk basically the whole time grappling helped us a little bit asphalt obviously but we didn't use that for most bosses knock-back immunity so that was a big one lots of bosses are a lot more threatening when you take knock-back from them so that is a big struggle in this challenge and then of course there's just like moving around dodging kind of goes with the first point which is you know it wings Hermes boots any sort of - all those sorts of things make this challenge so difficult in addition to the fact that you don't get all those useful perks like I know damage reduction immunity frames you get obviously menacing and warding so there's a lot of things you're like severely nerfed doing this playthrough that's gonna do it for today guys if you want you can check out our wanna sparking only video undersand gun only video where we try butyrate with those two weapons and those are both very similar to this video so if you've made it to the end consider checking those two out if you enjoy the video feel free to leave a like and subscribe if you haven't already and with that being said thank you all for watching I will see you all in the next
