Am I the only person who is exhausted with this clickbait “I bought the cheapest XX in America, ZOMG there’s so much wrong with it”. Enough already, create some new content.

I actually really like his videos. As a fellow car hoarder I have a lot of fun not owning everything he does. I've looked into a super cheap Cayenne S for thrills but ultimately decided against it.

welcome to movies garage the dumbest automotive channel in all of youtube and behind me is a 2005 porsche cayenne s and if you were buying this brand new in the showroom in 2005 you were a really cool cat and you paid 50 000 for this thing now i am not a cool cat but my friend euro asian bob found this for me at auction for 300 he called me up and he said i found a non-running porsche cayenne s for 300 and would you like it i have no idea what's wrong with it and i said of course yes absolutely of course i can't believe i'm able to buy any porsche for 300 let alone one that's this new and well relatively this nice it has 180 000 miles on it which is a lot for a cayenne s but overall the condition well isn't that bad if you look at it the gold paints actually in pretty good shape has cooled darker two-tone wheels on it michelin tires a little bit of overspray here onto the tail lights so obviously some paintwork but still 300 just look look at it yeah a little more paintwork showing here but uh overall not bad things do get a little let down on the inside though we have a seat covers covering up some uh well some pretty tatty interior bits and the center console is all torn out now bob could not get this porsche out of park he had to rip everything apart and go underneath to get it into neutral and with a battery this car cranks but it doesn't start it has oil in it it has coolant so we really have no idea what's going on other than it's a little tatty now i called the car wizard to see if he wanted to tackle something like this and he said well not in the year 2020. you have too many projects up in my shop right now so uh maybe you should find somebody else and that's somebody else well that's the car ninja there's johnny hello you taking out the trash yeah well got something to add here it's a 2005 cayenne s that our friend bob found for three hundred dollars damn that's cheap three hundred dollars uh well it doesn't run exactly tow truck came in dropped it off do you think you can use your ninja powers to get it going again hopefully about three hundred dollars man three hundred dollars yes i mean it's it's not clean yeah it's not it but it's not it's not like wrecked wow i like the color though it is a cool color and cool wheels and it's the s with the v8 yeah it needs a little detailing yeah mike will be happy just just a touch of detailing and there's something going on i don't know the shifter it wouldn't go into neutral and all this is torn apart yeah all right huh well um let's push it in i guess clearly i caught him by surprise a little bit because he can't think of nice words to say while he's taking out the garbage let's look under the hood here 4.5 liter v8 so plenty of power in this thing and one of the common failures are these coolant pipes right here they will rupture and link all the coolant out but i've already checked the coolant tank and it is full of coolant it also has plenty of oil in it so hopefully it runs bob said there's no battery he hooked up a jump thing to it and it cranked over though that's a good sign so uh i guess we can push it in yeah push it i'll fix it how about that i think i'm gonna need a little help i'm not wizard i don't have wizard strength i i need some little ninja strength actually right now all right we're back we go i think yes shooting for that garage door this thing's heavy that's how long has been oh okay is there anything back there you want us to not hit oh oh god huh oh oh geez oh we don't want to hit this invisible thing with the invisible you're not wearing almost your ninja i normally faint after i get the bill but that's a good idea this is now come here come here so i'm thinking 300 porsche can it be made whole again for under 3 000 well as good as it's going to get i suppose yeah what do you think sounds like a plan that's my budget thirty thousand dollars ten times what i paid for it yeah we'll see i guess first we gotta start with the battery right yep porsche and their infinite wisdom mount the battery underneath the driver's seat yeah why it's the volkswagen thing seems like a horrible place so you have to unbolt the seat to get the battery out yeah so you're hooking it up to the jump point so you can move the seat put a battery in yes and i'm gonna throw this one because i don't know whose neck has been into oh yeah that's the keychain yeah let's fire this up hey xenon headlights they work there's a lot of valuable parts in this thing i would imagine there it is 189 000 miles is that the key what's left of it what's that thing i guess the nubs in there the only thing is the uh crank it no there it is why it sounds like there's no muffler in it it does sound different doesn't it the crank's pretty healthy though yeah so electrical wise we're actually that radio power's on too seat moves yep that's a plus so while the seat is moving just take the seat out like this oh she goes well is there something still plugged in down there [Music] german engineering johnny yeah i didn't recline it yeah so the question is why would somebody go to all the trouble of taking it so out very good is this car about to be junked is that why it was 300 probably yes probably all right so we have juice gonna crank it again is that the fuel pump running no it sounds like the uh air injection system ah [Music] i wanna see if we have fuel oh so fuel on the fuel rail huh yeah and it's pretty fresh too okay also it's talking the commuter's talking oh yeah the faults are coming in just ignition coils now what are you doing well i'm removing this air injection pump so i can get to the coils and see if we have any spark that's coming on when you touch a coil so there's juice to it yeah and the throttle just initialize itself i don't know if you heard it and this one was the one that was out oh we have the code in it that's hard it's sparky yeah so why is it running good so we have minor codes yeah we have spark and fuel and it cranks healthy well hopefully we have good compression ah johnny's double dipping here he's going for one of a spark plug for compression the other one for fuel pressure so what's good fuel pressure about 50 about 50 so here somewhere in the area okay and then compression probably around 100 or so 120 like 180 180 to run this thing okay that's out of nowhere so it went from cranking to not cranking which is not good ninja is trying to pull out all of the coils to make it turn over as easily as possible but the more close he pulls the more badness he sees yeah this is a coil pack and it is uh melted melted from severely overheating a common problem on these uh cayenne s are these coolant pipes they will overheat wherever they are i think they're underneath the intake yeah right there when they leak people ignore them they run out of coolant they kill their engines and that appears to be what happened here it's locked it's locked motor's locked yeah 90 chance the motor's dead 90 probably 95 chance the motor's dead um so why don't you quote me just how much is an engine swap without the engine labor-wise can you look it up real quick man so i said i'd spend three thousand dollars getting this porsche running and just swapping the engine the labor is 1693.45 really that means i'd have to find an engine for a thousand dollars twelve hundred dollars that's probably unlikely um but i'm not gonna give up this is the hooptie rescue mission we are rescuing as many hoopties as we can so maybe there'll be some miracle maybe maybe we'll make it happen well i've magically teleported myself to the car ninjas it's a few weeks later i was trying to find an engine the cheapest i could find in the country was thirteen hundred dollars shipped to the ninjas door but then i thought i'd go hat in hand and beg at j j auto wrecking they've helped me out several times with other hoopties that i've had and they're on board with my hooptie rescue mission and they have sent me a porsche cayenne s engine for free this didn't cost me anything which is great because sixteen hundred dollars for the ninja two and solita were close to our three thousand dollar budget there we're halfway there and i'm sure there'll be some other things but uh big thanks to jnj auto wrecking if you have any ls swap needs any weird obscure parts for modern enthusiasts card they probably have it john ross went there not too long ago he took my alpena which uh was sold to them along with my 760 to be parted out and it's in a thousand pieces now thank goodness or should i say rip but uh look at this engine hoopty rescue missing johnny yeah we're gonna save it it has exhausted has the exhaust too yes that was one thing we discovered uh the catalytic converters were cut out of the cayenne either because they thought it was going to be junked or somebody stole them out of the car so it comes with the full exhaust on it it's ready to drop out and bolt in for and sixteen hundred dollars yes yeah so i'm sure there'll be other things uh we're gonna get very close to that budget but uh progress right thank you for watching you
