CAN I BEAT A POKÉMON X HARDCORE NUZLOCKE WITH ONLY FIRE TYPES!? (Pokémon Challenge)

welcome everyone my name's soph and this is my attempt to beat a hardcore nuzlocke of pokemon x with only fire type pokemon the full rule set for this run is listed down below but put simply only the first fire type encounter in each route or area can be caught if a pokemon faints it must be permanently boxed no items except held items in battle party pokemon levels are limited to the next gym leader or the final league member's ace and finally the battle mode must be put on set at all times the fire type is definitely a fan favorite and started off strong with the likes of charizard and pokemon red and blue they can be immensely powerful however their setbacks were made evident almost immediately a severe lack of type coverage in their movesets and also a bit of frailty overall not to mention they're often quite rare in many of the games however this is exactly why i wanted to try this run in pokemon x there are a great variety of fire types available to us but there are some tricky situations with the encounter methods for them which should be fun and challenging to tackle and what better way to enjoy a game that originated in japan than eating authentic japanese snacks into the run alright here we go let's tackle the kalos region hey wait a minute we're going to need one of those come here you little cuties what the oh cool we've got a wii u the gamepad even has a screen wow yeah that that sure worked out well for nintendo okay time to head out on our journey but before we do you know what we have to do right come here you little sh up ahead in aquacord town we meet our degenerate group of friends and they're debating what nickname they should use for us so all right that's a bit weird let's go with papa silf instead tierno does the lazy professor's job of giving us a starter pokemon and this is one of those rare times we'll actually get to use one the fire type fennekin which i nicknamed twig might seem like a weird name for a fire type but you'll see why when he evolves shauna challenges us to battle before we leave and we actually got a crit on our very first move against her so hopefully that bodes well for the run we also had a stab or same type attack bonus move right away so that made it pretty easy unlike some other games where losing the first rival fight is a very real possibility we then give sycamore's letter to our mom and she suspects it might be a love letter and after reading it immediately goes to pack our clothes for us to leave the house at once i i know what's going on here mom i'm not for you get the out during the catching tutorial with serena my mind wandered as it tends to and i realized they coded this to be a 100 catch for her but like what if they didn't what if it was regular catching odds surely out of the 15 million people who play the game some unfortunate soul would have her fail to catch like 50 balls in a row just sitting there for hours at the beginning of the game either way with pokeballs now in hand our run can now begin our next encounter is found right here on route 2 a fletchling which we catch and nicknamed phoenix now unfortunately phoenix doesn't actually have the fire type yet and because we get a decent amount of encounters in this run we're gonna forbid the use of it until it evolves and gets it and thankfully we will get the xp share to help with that soon while checking it out i noticed it has a jolly nature which gives it plus speed and minus special attack the perfect nature amazing i also remember to check twigs nature who is quiet with plus special attack and minus speed the first is great the second is terrible so i guess it balances out amazingly enough after enduring the chaos of our whole djen group ravaging the santalune forest we can find our next actually viable encounter here a pansier which i catch a nickname flint flint has an impish nature plus defense and minus special attack kind of an oof moment regardless this will be a savior as otherwise twig would pass the level cap on his own in no time we arrive at santalune city the location of the first gym and heading to it i forgot that the girl outside battles you but thankfully you can decline pretty sure that would have ended a run she does however remind me that route 22 is open to us even this early on which i planned to visit for a new encounter along the way we had a very close call against a trainer but thankfully a switching to flint saved the day with just five hp since she used leer twice towards the end ironically enough the pokemon that almost ended us is the very one that we're looking to find as we happen upon a lit leo which we catch a nickname garfield garfield ends up having a bashful neutral nature and the rivalry ability which does extra damage against fellow male pokemon not bad at all already with three viable pokemon on our team it's time to hit up the santalune gym this gym has a pretty cool design and of course having a fire type team made the trainers quite easy indeed the first gym leader is viola the bug type expert and you might think ah well this should be a piece of cake but her first pokemon is part water type so we can't underestimate her she leaves with a sur skit and i lead with garfield garfield has the strongest non-fire attack that we have in headbutt which does just above half then she uses watersport that weakens the power of fire moves which is fine as we can now take her out on the next turn however in comes her ace vivalon and now ember's not a good option she goes for harden immediately too so now headbutt hardly does anything as well uh-oh i have no choice though so i start using ember hoping for the burn chance as she hits us repeatedly with infestation eventually after bringing her low she potions and eventually hits us to just 8 hp with tackle but we get freed from infestation we're in ko range now though so i play a safe by switching into flint who's able to handle her with incinerate for the win and our first gym badge a little bit more complicated than you'd imagine for a bug team that's for sure leaving the gym we'd run into viola's older sister who gives us the xp share what a legend she is oh and she's a writer too hmm after being gifted the return cm at the next gate we can head into one of the biggest cities in the franchise lumios as it turns out we get to pick a second starter here this time from the kanto ones and of course our choice is charmander but like why is he facing that way like that is is he okay i name him greymon and greymon has a naive plus speed and minus special defense nature not bad incredibly sycamore also gives us the charizard x megastone something which i think will be a massive help later on and the first time we've ever gotten to use a mega in our nuzlockes heading to the pokemon center here i noticed they have some great tms like sunny day but we can't quite afford that yet so we'll come back later there are some great items in the main part of the city too but this guy who is telling us we can't pass due to a blackout while letting other people through i'm filing a complaint with human resources mister on route 5 tierno scared the absolute hell out of me with a swords dancing core fish but thankfully didn't have a water move yet so we escaped with our heads intact tony hawk baby a look at orenberry it's about time our next destination is cam for your town kind of an odd out of place town but here we can grab the thief tm which we can use to get type boosting items and also encounter the berryman so we can start helping our pokemon out also there's a miracle seat over here great what a health that will be for our fire team the beautiful part from palace is upon us every pokemon fan's dream mansion and after finding the owner's stupid dog shauna mises on the balcony i've never watched fireworks with a boy before shauna there are no fireworks and why you being weird route 7 brings about a massive snorlax and i was quite terrified of battling this thing but fortunately a combination of growl and smoke screen from greymon saved us as we got paralyzed and brought to just 5 hp before i could switch in garfield and even he ended up at just 11 hp since it used lick twice in a row which doesn't affect us weird but i'll take it that could have been the end of us snorlax is way too opie of a pokemon to have to fight this early the close calls were not done yet though as a double battle against two smear goal brought our pokemon to 3 and 6 hp respectively goodness gracious but now hopefully things will be a bit smoother as we have our very first evolution with twig evolving into a brazen and greymon also evolves into a beastly charmeleon too greymon also learned dragon rage which gives us some great damage output with a guaranteed 40 hp damage every time regardless of typing something that we've been struggling with ambrett town has us find the rock smash tm something that's gonna be crucial for a later encounter and we can also grab the rocky helmet item to cause some damage after we get hit a peaceful rhyhorn ride on the edge of 30 foot cliffs later and we can grab another important item the firestone fantastic in the glittering cave we run into the first team flare member who says don't you know not to play with fire i mean have you seen my team evidently not one completely justified murder of a machop later and we can grab the shadow claw tm and while progressing through the cave we get yet another evolution as phoenix evolves into fletchender from the xp share officially making him a usable team member and right before the rock gym great timing all right that's it as of this moment i'm currently taking donations to go on a trip to bora bora because apparently my player character gets to go and i don't and that's just not fair silas city is here where the next gym is and before we hit it up i'd like to make a quick aesthetic change ah there we go now we're in our element before the gym i know we're gonna need some extra firepower here get it so i used the firestone on flint to have them evolve into a semi-sear who i then teach the rock smash tm2 for extra coverage hopefully it helps to smash grant's rocks now looking at the gym trainers we're doomed just straight up there's no possible way we're beating things like relicanth however thankfully with some elite gaming strats we can take a straight path to the gym leader without ever battling one of them nifty leader grand is a rock type specialist and his team looks pretty damn scary with super effective coverage against us and his tyrant quad resist fire too i do have a bit of a plan though so let's try it out he leads with an amora and i send out flint rock smash is four times super effective against him and just barely doesn't ko but we get the defense drop he then paralyzes us with thunder wave though and then hyper potions luckily we make it through and this time ko due to the defense drop in comes his tyrant though and i'm feeling pretty nervous he hits us with stomp for a para flinch strategy which works and then he has bite to bring us to a third before our berry but we get the yawn off here i switch into garfield hoping to tank an attack and rock tomb smashes us but we survive on 12 hp before our berry and with our speed drop too but now he falls asleep i have to risk it here because if he switches and hits a rock tomb he'd then out speed on the next turn and no one can survive two of them so here i go for noble roar to lower his attack before then switching into twig i know that beam will do good damage but right when we switch he wakes up and gets a crit on rock tomb to immediately take out twig are you kidding me from there though we at least get a free pivot into greymon for the dragon rage then rock tomb hits us below half but our berry helps us get above half but we still out speed for the ko that wake up on the second turn plus crit was a brutal turn but i suppose that could have gone worse up north on route 10 we can grab another encounter at least this time a hound hour which i catch and nickname hades hades has a jolly plus speed and minus special attack nature again half good but half terrible to add insult to injury this route also gives us a mind plate gee that'd be great for a psychic type if i had one arrival in geocenge town lets us pick up the soft sand item to boost ground moves and we also get to do something cool you know how there's a big meme about how cool it is sitting on benches in this game well how about them rocks oh here we also finally get access to citrus berries too which should be a great help reflection cave was a long journey but it nessus the black belt item to boost fighting type moves at least with that we arrive in shallower city the location of the third gym and along the way we get a sweet evolution as hades evolves into a monstrous houndoom right before a fighting gym what is with our timing one of the coolest places in the game is next the tower of mastery and forgive me for what i said about hades he kind of saves the run here you see we have a battle against serena where her team is quite crazy for us now but we have an amazing strategy we can employ she leaves with a meow stick and it basically has no way to really hurt hades at all and only light screen not reflect so we can power up our attack with four howls just being brought to about half and then proceed to out speed and sweep her meow stick and huge threat frogadier with bite and her absol with firefang solid before hitting up the gym i went back to get the sharp beak item from route 5 and to connect and cave to get the aerialized tm now that we can use strength to get it hopefully this will give phoenix enough power as it certainly was enough to handle the trainers the third gym leader is karina the fighting specialist and here litelio and houndoom are pretty useless and we also have like three evolutions that occur just after this level cap let's do our best though she leads with a myenfoo and our obvious choice is phoenix whose sharpie boosted area lace eviscerates her after she hit us with a priority fake out in comes my choke next and this is why i leveled up phoenix to high level 32. after defeating the mien fu we level up which is allowed in hardcore nuzlocke's only mid battle and this gets us just enough power according to my calcs to take a machoke too and it does her final pokemon is halucha a scary pokemon otherwise but phoenix resists her fighting and flying type flying press move so although she powered up with home claws and outsped us two attacks did the job for our third badge phoenix mvp status for sure now at this point we do have access to the hotels that have people who gift you an eevee however it takes four days for them to give it to you and well we just don't have that time so i'm afraid flareon will be a no-go for now but the disappointment of that is quickly offset at the top of the tower as corinna gives us the mega bracelet opening up an insanely exciting prospect soon enough after getting the survey gem from serena we can head to the next route where this man gives us a lapras which he tells us serfed him everywhere but then i check and it doesn't even have surf having taught the damn thing surf watch what all that was for yup so useful on the other side stands one of the best items in the game though the leftovers quite awesome to get in the first half the serene kumarine city is next and in one of the houses we get the silk scarf which should be great to power up garfield's normal moves there's also a dude who sells incenses here which have the added effect of powering up certain types so don't skip out on him phoenix gets a wicked power up here too as we're granted the fly hm and after taking the train to the other side it nets us the metronome to power up moves used consecutively right before the next gym serena says oh hey i know you're just about to take on the next major challenge in your career and that we just battled all of 6 minutes and 27 seconds ago but let's do it again end me now now this time i got a bit overconfident and only howled twice and although it was enough for meowstic her froggityr not only outsped us but also just barely survived a bite oh thankfully i think her ai causes her to use quick attack instead of water pulse to try and out prioritize faster pokemon so we got incredibly lucky in that regard her absol has high critical hit ratio slash but again used quick attack before firefang just barely didn't ko as well so i had to switch into flint who also baited quick attack with his high speed and ko'd with flame burst definitely not underestimating her next time up next the kumarine gym now as cool as this gym is it's a grass-type gym so yeah i'm pretty sure you can imagine how the trainers went utter destruction these poor people before the gym leader i taught fly to phoenix for extra power and also made sure to train his speedy views a bit more as he starts with a very fast pokemon with leech seed which would not be good the fourth gym leader is ramos and his lead is a jump luff with base of 110 speed amazingly our jolly nature and higher level saves us as phoenix outspeeds and decimates it with a sharp beak boosted fly let's go in comes gogo next and fly takes him down to a quarter before he smashes us below half with takedown but recoil brings him into the red questioning if he'd potion here i went for a quick attack but he did and quick attack does just a little less than i had anticipated not enough for the fly ko unless we get a high roll but we have an alternate strategy i use roost here to heal up and then get hit by takedown which gives him the recoil again and he also happens to burn himself on our flame body putting him in range of ako with fly from there his final pokemon is a weepinbell and easy kale with fly for the win that went pretty darn well i'd say and for a reward we get a new evolution as phoenix evolves into a beastly talon flame which i'm super excited to use now here we have to traverse across the most annoying route in all of pokemon route 13 and i don't think it occurred to me just how scary it would be with impossible to avoid outspeeding doug trios with arena traps so we can't escape and has stabbed super effective bulldoze but thankfully we have roar on hades which really saved the day this route does give us one great thing though the flame plate perfect for our whole team really during the process of taking on team flair charmeleon evolves into a super powered charizard and to come to think of it i don't think we've used one of these in our runs before so i'm ecstatic after delaying a bit to have him learn flamethrower garfield also evolves into a pyroar yet another new pokemon that i can't wait to use taking care of the team flare nonsense with some of the admins having higher level pokemon than the next gym leaders ace by the way just noticed that we run into this dude uh hi sir you you're kind of tall this reminds me when i was young i got front row seats to a houston rockets game and i stood up beside yao ming and this is pretty much how it felt at the end of the route we have one last parting gift by using rock smash on the rocks a wild slugma which we catch and nicknamed turbo turbo has a sassy nature plus special defense and minus speed which actually might be ideal to be honest not like he's gonna be out speeding anything anyway with the fake blackout having been restored the other half of lumios is now open which means we can tackle the massive eiffel tower gym and in preparation for it i taught flint to dig tm and he does a great job against most of the trainers although one of them had an ampharos with power gem of all things which took me by surprise unfortunately on the last trainer we also had flint past the level cap which is not good news for the gym leader however i have a bit of a plan i taught the power up punch tm to charizard and get ready for the 5th gym leader clement the electric trainer he leaves with an imoga and i lead with charizard looks scary i know but i want to bait the volt switch here so i can mega evolve into mega charizard x who is neutral against electric while doing so i use power up punch to raise her attack and he pivots into magneton i thought he'd bring out heliup tile next since it's not weak to charizard so dig activates his sturdy ability during which i figured he'd hyper potion repeatedly and we could keep powering up with power punch but he used thunderbolts and got the 10 paralysis holy from there my plan kind of worked although we got hit to just 25 hp before getting the ko we need to switch now so i send out garfield as a moga comes out and aerialize doesn't do much as flamethrower eviscerates him his final pokemon is helioptile and we actually got a crit on our next attack to win the battle man that paralysis was terrible timing but we made it through before leaving lumios i make sure to pick up the sunny day tm amazing for our team and before the next route we also have turbo evolve into a met cargo which i'm hoping to make pretty useful with this rock typing now i was gonna set up sunny day on one of her pokemon but forgot that as soon as you enter route 14 you can't pause for a second before serena challenges you to battle at least i did heal after the gym though but we're left with the same order that we had for that so charizard gets sent out first the big problem is that she now has a fully evolved greninja with priority water moves which could sweep our entire team so i decided to keep charizard out there and mega evolve it making it our only pokemon not weak to water after getting hit by a crit fake out i hit one power a punch then she hits a psychic to two thirds before fly takes out meow stick and fire fang takes out absol in one hit after it hit a quick attack to below half i have no choice here so i just have to sit there and hope her multi-hit water move doesn't ko but she went for quick attack weirdly enough so we hit a fly but it still doesn't ko oh no i thought it was all over but she hit four times leaving us on just 10 hp and a final attack saves the run unbelievable i can't tell you how scared i was there one haunted house with a creepy dude talking about a horde of faceless men later and we arrive in la vera city where the next gym is i've always loved the fall aesthetic of this place but we can't admire it for too long let's hit up the gym now here garfield recently learned echoed voice a stab normal move which increases power each consecutive turn it's used so i combined that with the metronome to stack up and it performed amazingly against the trainers even helping us to get through on a zoom roll which was a bit scary otherwise the sixth gym leader is valerie one of the coolest designed characters in my opinion and a fairy type trainer her team is a bit tricky for us but at least we resist fairy types i decide to go for the same strategy but first taking out her maul while with super effective flamethrower in comes mr mime and here's one of those relatively rare instances i made a huge blunder the damn thing has the soundproof ability so echo voice doesn't even affect it whoops that's embarrassing i hit it once with crunch after she used light screen but not much damage we're being outdone here the only thing i think will save us here is turbo who i put the leftovers on we get hit by two psychics hard down to 24 hp then i use amnesia to raise our special defense hugely we can then use recover and this was a six minute long process of slowly chipping down mr mime and sylveon with lava plume and ancient power with max special defense our amnesia versus their light screen with leftovers and recover working wonders and eventually turbo emerged victorious what a savior a long journey brings us to dendomil town a place of peace prosperity and well weird people inside one of the houses we encounter a groundbreaking philosophical dilemma hmm what do we think ladies inside the frost cavern we wow would you look at that ice grass whoa whoa whoa chill man hello mr sir you know you're very lucky i don't turn on you by the power of a thousand flaming suns and four times super effectiveness my team wolf oh what i well thank you no i feel bad do you know what time it is time to ride a giant woolly mammoth as our means of transportation so anyway deborah said that it was michael who put the note on the water cooler which is patently false i mean i was right there anastar city is upon us another gym location and let's talk to this girl before we head over she claims to know the memories of our pokemon what alright well what about you hades how could you possibly know that wait hades what did you do like clockwork serena challenges us to battle outside the gym and her team is progressively getting scarier i must say with a new flareon added into the mix i lead with our trusty hades and get three howls off and then our newly taught sunny day before smashing her with faint attack with us being left at 46 hp already sunny day boosted flamethrower then evaporates her absol larion is handled by a plus 3 faint attack and in comes greninja now this is the main reason i set the sun up now we can switch into phoenix to tank her water moves but she went for dark pulse instead what in the world i now go for 110 power acrobatics but she gets a crit on one of her priority hits and we get left on just 7 hp before only hitting her below half oh no because shulkeya with any move from here i know the move selection will be random so here i switch into greymon and she goes for dark pulse okay with two-thirds health i now mega evolve and she didn't go for priority so fly takes her out that win gives us access to the anistar gym which is one of the trippiest places in pokemon might add and here we've got a great counter to the trainer's pokemon in hades taking them out with super effective dark and fire moves however looking ahead to the gym leader her team is looking near impossible to beat there's just no obvious option that we have but an idea springs to mind since i was playing on a tuesday the one day we can get an exclusive encounter in the lost hotel back on a previous route i'd make sure to repel so we don't encounter litwick as we couldn't fully evolve that thing anyway as there is essentially no dust stone available before the post game along the way we find the dread plate to boost dark moves fantastic and a long search has us find a moving trash can meaning an encounter and we find it rhodum i catch it and nickname it lumiere and it has a mild nature plus special attack and minus defense not bad now self you might say that's not a fire type it's electric and ghost ah but hang on my friend we can head all the way back to the pokemon lab to rummage through these boxes which gives us the microwave of an appliance to transform rotom into its heat form a fire and electric type a weird method but hey it's viable after tons of training and teaching lumiere the thunderball tm it's time for the seventh gym leader olympia as you might be able to guess lumiere's typing is a godsend for our team finally giving us a way to handle water types with the expert belt lumiere smashes through her sigoleth and water type slow king with super effective thunderbolt in one hit and to be safe i switched into hades on her meow stick knowing she'd go for fake out then slammed her with a dreadplay boosted faint attack after which she just used calm minds so two more did the trick after she healed lumiere you are a legend back in the lumios cafe we find a secret entrance to lysandre's lab and he challenges us to battle normally this would have been a devastating prospect for us but lumiere comes in clutch again not only having a four time super effective answer to gyarados but also sweeping through his mienfu murkrow and pyroar 2 being brought to just about half in the process i have no doubt his team will get harder but that was amazing to see as for the team flare admins we now have a great answer in garfield who is relatively bulky doesn't get affected by intimidate and does huge damage with stab silk scarf boosted hypervoice down in the basement we meet lysandre and az and okay lysandra is a big dude so seeing az dwarf him like this is hilarious gives off the exact same energy as the rock meeting shaquille o'neal zero sick gave us a run for our money too with his crowbat hitting us hard with cross poison and getting the poison before thunderball smashed him then his malamar was a huge threat with his high crit ratio moves and weird typing but thankfully a critless switching to phoenix with two acrobatics did the job with us at low health also i think i accidentally set off the ultimate weapon or something so sorry everyone some more eevee training and grinding later and it's time for lysander 2. this time he leads with a fully evolved mien chao so we have to change up our strategy helen flame is like the one thing that can outspeed that damn thing and acrobatics is an instant ko as i hoped that based out the gyrotos with intimidate and i ev trained as much as i could in hp and defense and brought lumiere to a higher level just hoping my calcs are correct and we can have him be the only thing that could survive an aqua tail and he does on just 9 hp oh man even closer than i'd imagined thunderbolt of course does the job from there with the outspeed and pyro comes out here i switch into turbo who is the perfect counter resisting everything but is non-stabbed dark moves so ancient power takes him down in two hits then our high defense has his tank control's night slash before hitting it hard too we don't quite ko though but a switching to garfield does the job not bad at all in the basement of the lab the legendary xerneas awakens and for the first time in history i actually remembered that the game forces you to catch the damn thing so i smacked it in the face with our master ball where it will be trapped for the rest of eternity lysander kinda doesn't like this so he this outfit gets me every time challenges us to battle for the third and final time this time with a hyperpowered team and one new threat that looks to be impossible for us he leaves with myanchow this time and i have no choice i have to lead with lumiere he just goes for swords dance though so a thunderbolt does the job a hit from high jump kick would not have been good at all so i'm thankful for that in comes pyro next unfortunately so i'm forced to switch into turbo again who handles him well although he got a crit on his dark pulse so we ended up with just 15 hp in the red at one point onto crow comes out next and i have to switch so i go into garfield now here's the key i can't let rotom take damage so i wanted to go for one attack here to bring him low and force the hyper potion turn so i could safely pivot into rotom but we got a crit and took him down immediately oh no that's the worst possible thing that could have happened we had such a good plan otherwise now it comes as gyarados and it has a mega stone nothing on our team can survive an aquatail from this thing nothing at all so i decide it's best to just try and go for a crit here but we don't get it and garfield goes down this sacrifice allows us a free pivot into lumiere at least who finished the job with an expert belt thunderbolt man that was unfortunate but could have gone worse i guess can we please get crits when we actually need them from now on route 18 brings us our final encounter of the run and it could be either a heat moor or a torque hole and it ends up being the latter officially cutting off heat more as a possibility we catch it and nickname him raphael and raphael ends up having a naive plus speed and minus defense nature pretty damn bad we already have a full team so i'm gonna put him in the box for now in kuruway town our battle with professor sycamore went pretty well thanks to hades's sunny day which devastated his venusaur and prevented his blastoise from destroying our entire team which was a real consideration and charizard was of course handled by thunderball too up ahead we can get a charcoal item another way to boost fire moves and the girl won't stop talking about fennekin why must you do this to me on the bridge nearby we have two consecutive battles with shauna and tierrano and they went pretty well with mega charizard x sweeping through both of them having a good opportunity to set a power-up punch against their dell caddy and talonflame respectively then thankfully we could heal before taking on trevor who mega charizard also handled thanks to the typing change eliminating its 4 times rock weakness against aerodactyl otherwise for winning shauna offers us the waterfall hm which will finally give us access to the dark pulse tm for houndoom snowball city is our last gym destination and aside from the damn puzzle aspect it went pretty well with hades being able to even counter the water and ice types with the help of sunny day the 8th gym leader is wolf rick the icemaster and well hades could cancel the hail with sunny day and then go to town with stab super effective flameplay boosted flamethrower for the complete sweep and our final badge not to mention we also got to make a ridiculously cool exit from this place too let's go an epic battle with the victory road gatekeeper ensued with mkhitaryan taking on a fellow dragon in kingdra and emerging victorious during which hades also learned nasty plot our journey nested some pretty cool items too like the solar beam cm on route 21 and on the west side we could pick up the incredible earthquake tm2 with that it's time to head in for the perilous journey through victory road the entrance to which is one of the coolest gates in the series in my opinion toward the end our final battle with serena awaits and i made sure to teach hades of the dark paul cm and also got the heat rock from the terminus cave that way we don't have the sun run out like last time she leaves with her trusting meow stick and i send out hades who can get two plus two nasty floss and a sunny day up before taking her out with dark pulse being left with just about half in comes altaria next which somehow barely survived one but we got the flinch so another did the trick absol was then handled with flamethrower and in comes the big threat greninja which resists all of haiti's attacks i have to switch so i send in lumiere in the sun to weaken water moves but she went for dark pulse for a third i then go to use thunderbolt for the ko but we flinch on the next attack no impossible this is devastating i have no idea what to do here i switch in phoenix and dark pulse does less than half but the sun fades how does this happen every time i have no choice so i go for acrobatics for over half then dark pulse brings us to just 20 hp i know she'll use priority now so i have to switch again this time into greymon and she hits us three times with a crit at the end to bring us below half what is her luck i now mega evolve she hits us with a dark pulse now and we survive on just 11 hp before taking her down with fly sheesh however there's a problem she still has flareon in the back you might say ah you're fine you have dig but she has priority quick attack one might then say uh well you've got two other team members but nope to get through victory road i had to take two hm mods i switch into hades and quick attack is a good amount before i can only go for dark pulse after getting hit again but it is less than half oh no three of our four pokemon are in the red and lumiere has just 44 hp but i have no choice i switch him in and quick attack does 21 hp and we have 23 hp left apparently she doesn't see the kill though so we land a thunderbolt and it does just enough for the ko oh man one of the most insane battles ever look at our team almost entirely annihilated for winning we can go pick up the dragon claw tm at least and we had a hell of a time with a gigalith that was handled by temporarily teaching houndoom's solar beam used in combination with sunny day while his trevenant was owned after all that madness we arrive at our final destination the pokemon league after fulfilling the rest of our evs picking up any remaining items and tms that we need it's time let's do this the first elite four members are fire type nemesis melva who i think i've got a good plan for she leaves with a pie roar so i send out greymon she's weak to fighting so this gives me a great chance to mega evolve hit two consecutive power-up punches to take her down and raise her attack hugely then her torque hole was smashed by super effective dig her talonflame was outspent surprisingly and handled with a plus two dragon claw then her chandelure was also handled by digg now that's what i like to see before the next room i make sure to teach hades the taunt tm and give him a rare candy as i think we're gonna need it the next elite four member is wickstrom the steel type trainer and you might think oh this'll be easy with a fire team but no he leaves with a cleft key which has torment and the prankster ability for priority meaning we couldn't use flamethrower consecutively not to mention his probopass with sturdy and power gem so my plan was to use taunt assuming he definitely used spike's first turn right but he used torment first turn what that ruins my entire plan taunt would have stopped them in his tracks i have no real choice though as anything we send in will get tormented so i set up sunny day then destroy it with flamethrower in comes an even bigger threat probopass who with my plan shot i don't know what to do about nothing can be switched into power gym and i can't use flamethrower again due to torment so i just go for nasty plot hoping maybe we survive but power gems smashes hades for the ko ouch here i send in simi's here to hit him with a flamethrower to break sturdy and then he hits us with power gem and we barely survive in the red so a four-time super effective dig does the job from there in comes asia next a bulky threat so i switch in lumiere who gets hit below half with shadow claw however this puts him in his blade form so overheat does the job but does lower our special attack however his final pokemon is scizor and even with the lowered power 4 times super effective overheat does the job a crazy battle and an unfortunate loss for sure the third elite 4 member is drazna the dragon trainer and here we have the perfect answer although i did have to watch the speeds here with a plus speed nature though i send out mega charizard and amazingly we outsped and one hit ko'd all four of her pokemon with dragon claw even though they all had super effective moves against us incredible speed and power just awesome the final elite four member is sibo the water trainer who is of course a massive threat for us not to mention that our main answer was hades with sunny day and he's no longer with us but his claw whizzer has mega launcher orosphere anyway so it might not have been a viable strategy but we do have another option against his claw witzer i leave with lumiere and expert belt thunderbolt annihilates him immediately both his gyros and barbarical then suffer the same fate but in comes the big threat starmie which outspeeds us and has surf he went for light screen first though so thunderbolt barely didn't ko then he full restored a couple of times even though he had gotten the paralysis which would have been sick eventually he was left in the red then outsped and went for a stab super effective serve but we survive on 36 hp to then respond with a finer thunderbolt for the victory amazing it's time the final battle is upon us the champion diantha who runs a mixed team i theorycrafted for a while for this one and eventually realized i think we only have one option given that her halucha is fast as hell without any further ado let's do this she leaves with her halucha and i send out phoenix pretty much the only thing that can outspeed her and 110 power acrobatics smashes her instantly however as i thought in comes a massive threat tyrantrum nothing on our team will survive a head smash from that thing so i have to hit him for a bit of damage and let phoenix go rest in peace soldier you did well after his massive recoil damage and that sacrifice we can now make it evolve charizard and smash her with super effective dragon claw in comes goodra next and being weak to it as well she gets ko'd instantly auroras then comes out and this is a perfect opportunity i go for four times super effective power up punch to raise her attack even further which barely doesn't ko she then uses reflect and now i've got her right where i want her she locks herself into full restoring which gives us more opportunities to hypercharge her attack eventually taking her down at plus four unreal where gorgeous then goes down to a flamethrower and it comes her final pokemon and ace gardevoir which mega evolves as well but ultimately in this mega versus mega showdown mega charizard x emerges victorious devastating her with a plus 4 earthquake for the championship wow what an absolute mvp performance we did it we became the champion in a hardcore nuzlocke of pokemon x with only fire types but one battle remains after the victory ceremony none other than az shows up to challenge us to battle now funnily enough this battle forces the same party order so we sent out our dead dog first and i guess that means we have to switch giving him a free move with torque hole but turbo the legend avoids the damn stone edge then one ancient power immediately ko's him oh man it comes sigoulif next which hits a psychic for a quarter then asian power barely doesn't ko as another psychic brings us below half but our berry activates and another attack finishes him his final pokemon is lurk which thankfully doesn't have a four time super effective stab ground move but it goes for phantom force instead now here i realized i can take advantage of that being his best move turbo's able to use recover each turn he disappears then with his massive defense tank them well and get two flamethrowers off to end the battle alright new mvp
