Can body armor stop a 50 CAL? Could You survive if it did?

foreign modern body armor is really interesting in many ways it stops almost every intermediate thread out there but one thing that body armor isn't specifically rated for is 50 cal so the question is will body armors stop 50 cal M it can you survive it if you get shot and you have armor and the 50 cal strikes you will some armor company come out with a special threat plate that really doesn't protect you against anything this thing and many others today on Grantham [Music] now before we get into it we of course have to think the biggest sponsor of the channel the biggest sponsor of the Charlie yeah uh we'll see all right so now we have an old friend uh the ballistic lab ballistic dummy lab he's currently on the carnivore diet so he has a little bit of guts going weird right there but we're going to see exactly what it does when you shoot it and body armor probably a lot of body armor the only thing that doesn't come with this is this strap that was a store good enough we do have armor from armor shop this is going to be level four which is rated to stop one round of 30 ought 6 armor piercing which is always going to be a bad day now it's been known that armor can stop a little bit more than that but uh a 50 how many how many like level four plates you think it's going to take like from playing Call of Duty Micah would you say like four uh yeah well technically you know in Warzone you played up and you can hold eight and like a satchel okay and that keeps me alive pretty good yeah because like you just so I do like in Warzone you just put in like four like we can show the video you just keep stacking them we'll just keep going yeah yeah I don't think it's gonna stop no I don't think it's gonna stop and especially since one one plate has four of them because I mean I don't think Call of Duty taught me anything it's a One-Shot headshot with the snipers in Warzone and this guy doesn't have a head he's good he's good you go yeah I mean honestly the only thing Call of Duty taught me is that you can't say certain words that start with right right here we do have the sniper rifle from Halo This Is The Sire hs50 M1 it is a bolt action magazine fed 50 caliber rifle to be clear this is a solid plus 10 damage compared to the Barrett light 50 because it's from Austria so the 50 cal we're using here is just an FMJ we do have raufus which is a armor piercing explosive incendiary around as well which is basically a stick of dynamite 5 out of a 50 cal that armor can have that round just a little bit later as a little treat for now we'll be sticking with the basic FMJ and we're going to see how one plate can hold up to a 50 cal Mike are you able to change the color of this tape so that way people don't think that the tape is racist but talk is cheap ammunition is what Charlie provided by Norma it is is expensive so we're gonna we're gonna go ahead and shoot now [Music] I don't know what else we expected to happen [Music] you know do you think if he'd had a t-shirt on or anything it would have changed the outcome oh yeah at the end yeah I mean that armor doesn't look too bad I mean uh it's not well the question is would it stop a 556 still probably is that still smoking yeah well you know the main thing was uh see what would happen to the body and uh I guess if there's one thing we can learn from uh level four plates it's that uh certainly not rated for 50 cal least we can hear the body you know you know funny enough the body is actually reusable he can have a little bit more 50 cal As a treat which is a great simulation for real life because even when bodies are done I reuse them oh you know we thought we'd just kind of slowly start stacking plates but uh I think we're gonna start with all the armor and start kind of working our way down because clearly this is not going to uh to work otherwise you'll have one more dummy so I'm just gonna throw all the armor we can on there this is your average Call of Duty Loadout right here is that accurate Micah yeah this is a Call of Duty Satchel yeah just uh a ton of armor can you imagine is it can you take a 50 cal round when you're fully armored up I literally never kill anyone in that game let's go so you're bad at games Charlie there's a snipe on that door watch out [Applause] right when I got it oh my god brother oh I got you I got you okay I'm gonna stick your guts back in thank you oh I will avenge you brother I don't know this is one two three four five six six uh level four plates uh with a 3A backer you just just in case you have a little okay if you add up 30.6 three times that's way more than 50. 30 ought 6 if you add up 30.6 three times that's like 90 ought 12. that's more than 50. therefore three plates 30.6 therefore 50 is just 0.50 that's way more therefore three plates no way that totally stopped it dude [Music] foreign ever lied okay well 50's on the line I said third plate hold on is this the that's from before that's question now though once in college but I remember three okay but he had what six plates on yeah so if we put exactly three plates on him how much worse is the damage I think one thing that's interesting which we didn't show before is that this ballistic dummy lab dummy has the cutest little belly button ever final calls is he gonna survive the shot well you already got you're already given your 50. yeah so I'm not like re-betting but uh no he's not I think I think he's not yes a thousand percent is this going to squish to the point to where his heart kind of just stops yep you know what I think he's going to survive um I was a doctor in New Jersey for a little while I'm not allowed to practice anywhere else and well if I'd stop being so grabby you would be yo [Music] I'm pretty sure Warzone has once again been Vindicated I think he lived nope what do you mean no I don't think I'm just all right there's no okay take it down honestly we need to get sponsored by whoever is every single armor plate I know that they're damaged but we're going to take and fire a route this round so the cool thing about 50 cal is that the projectile is large enough to carry a payload so a lot of the 50 cows that you see in use by the military not just the American Military but most militaries are payload loaded so what is a raufus going to do again that is an armor piercing incendiary explosive basically a stick of TNT every single round that I've given to someone with a roofie in it they drop every single time it's gonna be no different [Music] how many plates do you think it went through oh five five plates I'm thinking four so I mean the route This was meant to take down like aircraft and vehicles so apparently all you need to uh defeat those is uh a bunch of plates taped together oh oh that one's stuck boy oh my God no it's a tape you didn't cut the tape [Music] wow oh look there's the round oh there's the armored Persian portion of it oh you could smell it yeah all right we're gonna take three plates we're gonna tape them together uh we're gonna shoot with Ralph this I just want to watch the dummy blow up because it's what we're here yeah it's what and I I just really want to know where you know where they got all this information oh man these are new Costco pants but you know what here's the thing guys is as destructive as these 50 cal rounds are the fact of the matter is if you don't have training they're not going to be destructive at all so you need to make sure that you're getting training Charlie where can they get training they could
