what's up YouTube BAM alright boys and girls so this is where we sit right now just fast-forwarding a bit or a new air filter in this is all clean in here carbs done as I said we've got a new chain on I did have two when I put this new tire on I did have to put the wheel up in the truing stand quiet a few spokes were loose so I went through and tighten them all and yeah basically have this ready to go and I am moving to pull out the forks now which I mean these things are nasty nasty like oh I didn't see that that's bad a chrome chipping that's gonna eat seals what I do for this is see how a lot of its coming off with my fingernail but the pores so there's pores are already open as I'll come over this with some light emery cloth and some wd-40 try to polish these out because those will just tear our new seals up pretty good this one's not bad at all so but I'm gonna have to do some polishing on this one unfortunately and down here in all this garbage I have an oversized brake rotor kit that I was going to use on the Y Z 325 but after switching the new suspension it didn't fit but it'll fit this so obviously this is something you don't have to do guys but I have it so I'm gonna put an oversized disc it on the front wheel here and just add some stopping car to the front end so I'm gonna get the forks done and I might because this front tires pretty pretty old and decrepit I might I do have some Supercross takeoffs from our Supercross bikes I might just change out to MX 33 front because I love those tires and yeah we'll see you well boys and girls I am really happy that I even needed to rebuild these Forks because the oil is literally coming out like honey it is super stringy super thick like it's been sitting for a long time I could totally tell so I got let me drain here for a little bit and yeah it's all the oils been that yellow color you see in there so it's not dirty so much as it is just really really old so we're gonna flush she's all out clean them internally externally work on those little rough spots up there and then start putting back together but I'm really glad we did this the rear shock wasn't this bad but this Fork is it's bad it's like honey running out of here guys should never be that thick it's very thin oil that goes in these so I could tell it's really old all right gang so we got our forks all rebuilt reinstalled ready to go I just pulled out the old spark plug just because I don't want to do two jobs once and go to start it in the plugs fouled the plug actually that came out it look really good but we're gonna be putting in a be 80s you could also use a beat rads or there's several others by champion and other brands but I recommend sticking with the NGK if you could afford it it's like 20-something bucks for the iridium plug I'm really not sure the benefits of using iridium I hear it's a little bit more of a productive spark than the copper electrodes but I mean we're doing this on a budget here this plugs like two or three dollars it's super cheap again that's an NG k-va-t s so we're gonna be putting that in now I got my break hanger the extender for the 270 rotor I have my 270 rotor on came out real nice so I am now just debating on changing the front tire obviously there is a little bit of a discrepancy when it comes to changing the front tire you don't necessarily have to so in my case the tire is pretty dry rotted it has not very much tread or a biting edge left so keeping this budget-minded if you bought a bike like this you could that's you know one of those things in this whole entire video that's gonna be depending on the buyer you could just leave that front tire as is and ride it and probably be safe and fine with it but like I said I have I have some Supercross take who knows the condition of the tube the condition oh my god that glare the condition of the tube might be really really bad in which it's just gonna go flat within the first 10 minutes of riding it anyway so I thought why not just pull off the tire put one of the used ones I have on and put in a new tube in it so it's a little subjective again yeah you know - who's gonna who would buy this similar project and go through everything I've gone through you could leave it I'm gonna change it to kind of complement the new rear tire as well like I said I'm gonna have a full cost breakdown at the end of this including the price of the bike we'll go over everything and talk about the true value here all right scratch that because I just went and took a look and my tire stock and I have no tires so I don't have rears which doesn't help me in this situation so at least this will give a little bit more like true life I kiss a little unscripted true life like what would happen type scenario here so we have no front tire so we're gonna use that rock hard stock front tire it's a 739 F and I did look it up that is original to this bike so I thing's been on there for a long time so having said that we're gonna leave that on and just it would be kind of interesting to see anyway the kind of if the tube survives or if it gives out instantly or what after sitting in there that long it is inflated it has been inflated it hasn't lost pressure over how many of her years but like I said the tire on the back was flat and the tread was blasted so it's that wasn't obvious change it I mean if you're gonna do a tube you might as well do a tire so anyways guys gonna keep the front tire on there and then we're gonna start putting this thing back together and fire it up hope to god it runs it really should checked all my check marks on this whole thing and it should run pretty good but gonna keep plugging it's going good it's going really good other than the front tire but whatever it's a budget bike it's a budget but you gotta remember guys it's a budget bike alright guys well the Sun is setting on the day but we're not finished here yet the tank on got polished out all's I did was actually have hang on one second yeah I have some wd-40 and all I did was just with a paper towel I just got down and started scrubbing and we got through some of the little surface oxidation I guess you could call it on it and it look good so that's although it just looks good obviously if you guys want to take the step further the wood brake cleaner all this stuff and order some graphics but I'm gonna just leave it as it is cuz it looks good look sharp so yeah shows you we got our oil our new filter in and oiled and this is the spark arrestor gosh my muffler I know I call a spark kisser it's because I was getting to a point so this is the muffler that I had just laying around in the box I knew it fit it it's used but it's in better shape than the other one because if you remember the aden cap I found out some info from the previous owner about that so what he told me was if you look at the top right here you see how that's ground back see how that casting rib up there goes all the way down but then it's like ground down right there well boys and girls if you didn't know it's because here and a spark rester in cap on this thing and so you can go right out in the forestry here in California you got to have a spark arrestor and when you put on that spark arrestor it has a screen on the end well that's superheated the aluminum on the end here and melted the end cap so that is what caused that bogus though huh look at that that's nothing is just toast so unfortunately that goes down the junk box if any of you guys need that hit me up on Instagram other than that guys we got the shorty on here it's gonna be a little bit louder with that on but hey flawed bikes save lives right guys we are getting down to assembly here and put on the side panels clean up the seat throw this thing together gotta go to the gas station and get some gas we'll go over that in a second alright guys well she's done I had this old bar pattern or Yamaha laying around and it fits the bill so Yamaha at least it doesn't say like ponder Kawasaki or something like that anyways it's not the most beautiful bar pad but we're gonna run it so guys yeah she's all together so now we're gonna go get some gas for this thing fire it up see what the heck she sounds like I mean it should sound pretty fresh so kind of pumped about it and we'll get some shots over to outside onto getting gasoline what should you guys do for your first bike you've never done this before you don't even know what mixing is or maybe you have an idea but don't know how to do it right I actually dig this stuff it's my lucas oil it's just semi synthetic two-stroke oil and we've used it for many many years in the arm 125 my son's KTM 65 Robert used it in his 250 I using the horse back on Craigslist I use it and everything and it's been really really good oil I cannot complain about it so in this this case you guys can get to say just about any auto parts store like they have it just about anywhere it works really really good so we're gonna mix this for I'm just gonna I think I got enough for two gallons let's see but I'm gonna get two gallons I'm gonna go for thirty two to one which is a little bit of a buggery mix you might want to go 40 but because I don't know the condition of this engine I'm gonna go a little bit thicker because I don't know if the Rings are stuck I don't know if the clutch plates are stuck you know I did do I did drop the oil put some new oil in but the clutch plates might be stuck together that doesn't have anything to do with premix but I'm just saying either way guys we don't know the condition of the bottom end bearings if they're corroded from sitting or anything like that so I'm just gonna go a little bit rich at 32 to one so let's go do that guys so this if you didn't know which I'm sure a lot of you do know is a two-stroke mixing Cup I have it right now without dropping it at the two and a half gallon increments at thirty two to one it says right there 32 to 1 so it flattens out too counts 31 so we're gonna go fill it up throw it in the bike get this thing started alright guys got our fuel I emptied out all the old gas obviously you know I keep that in there so we're gonna fill this up give it a kick see what happens I already know what's gonna happen it's gonna fire up that engine look way too good not to just fire up about a half tank and see what happens putting joke on see if our float leaks shouldn't let's give her a couple kicks alright guys I had to mess with the idol for some reason he used a throttle cable as idle adjustment [Applause] yeah [Music] ron's good all right guys I just took her for a little rip snot around the block and it was idling nice and low which is usually a pretty good indicator that the compression is pretty good well I will out very low now - chokes aren't really made to idle they're just not designed to really idle for long periods of time but anyways having good compression a bike especially with good compression should idle for a reasonably long enough time this one was running long enough for me to put it up on the stand look at some things check for any leaking because I don't know if you guys caught it but when I did start it the float did leak for like a split second and then soon as it hydrated it stopped so that problem fix solved alright boys and girls we got the 125 all dialed in I kind of just took it around the block last night just kind of checking it out it should be good for today Isaac's gonna be piling it he's gonna be piloting it and checking it out seeing what we need to change if anything not a hundred percent fond of that front tire but hey guys send it anyway it's got new on the rear fresh suspension you guys know the whole game what we went through but yeah I can't complain thing looks pretty good pretty good I have my 15 County out here I'll be riding then have it on 65 yeah baby up it's got some times Oh mister gyoon skills Isaac clearly took the Yamaha off for two laps [Music] night has fallen long drive back it's like an hour and a half not super long but guys other than literally the second lap this thing going out Isaac breaks the bars and puts a hole on the grip again and look at what we kind of like Jimmy rigged I think it's kind of funny we just put a hose clamp over the bar with a little zip tie to hold it down this was just so we can tie the bike down in the back of the truck that was hit oh my god dude I guess I should have mentioned that that's why we have like wonderful aftermarket companies to to buy stuff from and - you know upgrade bikes and stuff like that nothing else happened the bike literally he just got high-sided on a hill he tried to remount the bike and then it rolled down the hill and tipped over and when it fell pushed the bar back and snapped the bar luckily I do have pairs of new Phoenix bars I'm gonna be throwing on there with Phoenix bar pad thank you Jason for watching and know you're helping out a lot with this but guys yeah Jason over at Phoenix sound of bars again check them out really strong nice bars so I'm gonna throw the Phoenix bars on here and it should be completely back ready to go again I mean simple simple I mean tbh it's kind of like what I was I shouldn't expect anything different from like original bars stock bars especially the 7/8 wall 7/8 excuse me a 7/8 bar but they're extremely thin wall they're really not meant to take much from a crash at all so I mean it is what it is just sucks so as I got to ride my bike with me like shared it for the rest of day which is fine but hey anyways guys that's how you buy an affordable dirt bike fixed up on the cheap obviously you go a lot cheaper than this you can go even like down to a thousand bucks if you want but you're gonna get what you pay for let's be honest you know you could I'm sure you can find a 600 order buy you can find a $500 everybody can find a 400 order bike all the way down but obviously the cheaper it's going to get the more pricey parts are and then also guys you got to take into consideration so if it's like a 85 Yamaha or 85 hond or any brand really when they're that old it's really hard to find parts for them you have to go to ebay and scavenge a lot of things or find a parts bike somewhere it's kind of a pain in the butt really wanted to get some shots of railing this taken and Isaac just yolks and brakes of bars luckily that's the only thing broken I mean a little scratch on the plastics but I mean can't complain about that because that stuff happens all the time right I'm tired I'm sore not really not really sore so guys this took me two days to do and two days to do at I consider myself a pretty good skill level obviously I do this stuff for a living I do it for fun I do it for pleasure I do it for entertainment I do it all the time it's dirt bikes is every single day for me so let's break it down and see if this makes sense to you guys so I didn't mention but we bought the bike for 1,250 bucks he was asking on Facebook marketplace he was asking $2,000 now $2000 for this bike I think was a great deal so much so I called him up and I said hey I would like to meet you and check this thing out he said okay it's not a shed my yard come on over and I'll pull it out for you I went there and how I got it to 1250 I'm not a shyster I'm really not I'm realistic how I got for 1250 I pointed out the fact that the front forks are blown I told him okay you know those front forks being blown they're pretty they are pretty pricy to get rebuilt if you take them to a high level suspension place to get the front Riva front and rear rebuilt you are looking at five hundred dollars for the front rear to get serviced new oil seals rebuild okay that's a very very common number I'm not just reaching here that's common so the other thing that I had to immediately factor in after going over it was okay it's got a flat rear tire and the tires done skis that's rear tire on rocky mountain mc.com was fifty bucks really really good deal it's a duro trying to cross two words up at once here it's a duro and I think they're starting to phase them out they do have some pretty inexpensive tires on Rocky Mountain so you can definitely find something in this price range I recently did another video you guys will see pretty soon picking up another dirt bike either way and we got a kenda Trackmaster and that was like fifty five dollars so I went for the cheapest of the cheap okay so fifty bucks for the tire and I think the tube was on clearance for seven dollars okay there's our running tally then bought tusk air filter fifteen dollars I think I said it was seventeen buy things closer to fifteen I don't have the invoice in front of me but they are one the more cost-effective filters you can buy and then let's see the chain how'd you do the chain now that that's a gold plated roller chain not a ring or anything I do as often as I can try to use gold chains I really like them they're corrosion resistant you don't have to get them you could find chains for cheap as forty dollars this one's from primary drive on Rocky Mountain atv/mc calm now guys I'm going to reiterate to you guys I did not use any of my sponsored promotions through the video or the production I do here to buy any of these parts I bought all these parts straight up as a cash customer on Rocky Mountain or the local Yamaha dealer that I have here in town so having said that that chain was I think sixty-five dollars obviously there's a lot better than that chain and you know you can go into like the di de RV the RT ERT those are all chains that will last quite a bit longer these I've had haven't had any issues with and being on 125 it's not it's it's gonna take a while to get through that chain and then things like sparkplug you know like it sounds like two or three bucks gas so you can't really figure in gasoline we're gonna buy gas for these things every weekend you guys got a factor in premix you got a factor and all that stuff but to do a quick tally we're really really close to two grand on this okay after there's I'm sure there's some stuff I'm forgetting maybe if you took this to a shop to get it done you might be looking at close to $2,000 as well to get all this done so the question you gotta ask yourself what are you doing with this bike now this bike here this is the ace of spades this is ace of all trades as far as I am familiar with the 125s the Yamaha they are just the ace of trades they do it all you can right woods you ride enduro you can take this out to the motocross track and burn up some laps you can do dinghy or anything with this bike and it's going to stand the time the test of time top ins parts on these things are extremely cheap companies like poly sport hear me talk about them a lot because they do a lot with the channel they have restyle kits make these things look like the 2020s that are coming out and then obviously companies like era moto that makes graphics they can make you a really awesome graphics kit and obviously the sky's the limit you could do exhaust pipe you can do yeah top end if you want to do a top end they're around a hundred bucks and I really think any of you watch and can do a top-end on these get yourself a manual and get crackin it's it's really not that hard on a two-stroke 125 it's really not that bad and I think it's something that all you can do and maybe that is something that we will in the future do here on the lennox youtube channel is just a quick little how fast and how cheap can we do rebuild on this but it's really really good I'm not worried about putting a top in in it right now the right thing to do would be throw an hour meter on it and take it about 20 hours 15 hours somewhere in there I'll say 20 from where it's I right now and then do a top end the benefits of keeping a new top end in this thing is it's gonna last a lot longer the cylinder is going to last longer everything because once I piss and start to slop around in there it could cause more down to chicken damage the cylinder and then the vibrations that it puts them on the crank you'll Roach crank faster everything just benefits better from a nice tight piston things I did not mention in this video that you need to take into consideration Griet going through and greasing all the linkage bearings all the head tube bearings something I didn't do and it is something I am going to do not gonna cover in a video it's just something I'll do on a rainy day we've been having lots of those lately and since this whole coronavirus thing is out you know I find myself hunting a little bit more time to pump out some videos and do some work on my bikes so with that guys the other things you want to do is definitely lube the clutch cable lube to move the throttle cable and that's really about it when it comes to two strokes especially in the 125 85 65 50s they're all really really simplistic on their maintenance compared to a newer four-stroke you can find these things cheap you can find them all over the internet and different ranges of prices I would say that there has been a resurgence with how popular these have been just because this in a perfect world would be a no 6 but it's not - no 5 the oh six had the Triple S suspension that you hear me talk about so much on this channel it had the Triple S suspension this is a o SS suspension which is the Triple S was a speed sensitive suspension this is not a speed sensitive it is still really really good suspension don't get me wrong so light years better than the 2004 suspension but it is it falls short of the o6o if you guys can find a no 6 Yamaha Plus in this price range I would recommend going for it my son rides a 2003 RM 125 you seen on the channel before maybe some of you haven't you can look for it we've done all kinds of stuff that bikes got 123 hours or something crazy on in total and we've gone through a couple top in the bottom in and it's been an amazing bike we've ridden the heck out of it we love it we enjoy it it's just been a extremely reliable machine same thing with the Honda's Honda's are great RC valve engines from 2002 to 2004 are a little lackluster they're little low on power the yz125 Sauron power kx125 kx250 better I would say after Oh 6 they got a lot better not saying if you guys have anything that's like older than oh 6 I'm not I'm not ragging on you or bagging on you trust me it's just they got better every bike let's be honest gets better each year so in my case this was just the one this year where they use the AOSS KYB combo in the front but it's it like I said after rebuilding it I know it's fresh now I rebuilt the rear shock it's fresh now to find a bike on either Craigslist Facebook marketplace where ever at this price range at 2 grand is an absolute steal especially new rear tire on a new chain all the hard maintenance is done on this thing you know shorter top end but either way guys thank you much so much for watching I hope you got a lot out of this video to ground guys to Grand buying the bike and getting it track ready so much so I think we're gonna take this thing out tomorrow probably get some shots just go play around on it and I will give a little ride report have a little video of us out playing on it and yeah look forward to that I look forward to to make it another video for you guys it's nice being back home and being off of the Supercross just for a little bit until they figure out the schedule anyways guys from the shop grounds whatever this is client London with 1mx I love every single one of you guys I will talk to you guys very very soon that's a promise peace out for now good night
