oh oh all right guys wood burner is hooked up uh we got the motor the fan blown right now so this is like insane heat blowing out of there this isn't a permanent deal yet i'm gonna figure out you know something a little different than that um but the shop right now it's probably like 45 degrees outside the shop right now is is t-shirt i don't have a thermometer you don't know how hot it is in here but she's ripping but alright guys what the heck is up welcome back to the garage behind me you see my cummins so basically for the past three years my daily driver has been my ford my f250 the whole channel is primarily built around it and i absolutely love that truck especially now with the s370 which we are waiting on dyno software still currently at spe to put on the dyno to really ramp up the power so we're waiting to really turn it up but right now the truck runs absolutely amazing which i love the truck it's amazing inside it has heated cooled seats massaging massaging seats full leather comfort tinted out awesome it's a great ride even on the 24x14s but it's like one of those deals when you drive home from work every single day the same way for the past 10 years you kind of get bored going that same road so you take a new road thus bringing me to the cummins here so basically i bought this truck for super cheap i have 5 500 bucks wrapped up into the whole deal that's title processing tax the whole process i have 5500 sunk into that truck back there and my new goal with that truck is to make it an awesome daily driver but as it sits right now it's pretty rough so a couple things that are already knocked off the list is i immediately took it to my buddy who's a detailer and he did the full interior because it was like absolutely horrible in there um i did the five inch straight pipe and i got the american forces now i sourced like the cheapest american force i could find used on old marketplace the wheels are actually pretty solid they don't have too much curb wraps they're not bent or anything like that only one wheel has curb rash and the other ones are pretty much perfect tires aren't that good they the dude did a like huge burnout right before he took him off yeah let's take off the wheels to sell him but let's do a huge burnout before we do that i don't know i guess he wanted to give him a good send off so other than those three things nothing else has been done to the truck it has just over 200 000 i think there's like 206 000 miles on it but i'm not so much worried about the rust and the cosmetic stuff just yet we'll tackle that down the road right now i just kind of want to get it safe and fun but all right so mechanically the truck is pretty sound when i got it there was zero oil in the truck like it i had to put uh like two or three quarts on it just to get it onto the reed level on the dipstick so yeah i'd say that was pretty low it is covered in like this like baked on brown film i don't know if that's just road grime i've seen that on a bunch of old trucks i don't know exactly what that is is it old oil is it diesel i don't know if you guys know what this stuff is it like kind of bakes on everything let me know and at one point in time i think the truck was worked on because you can see all the foot marks smashing the fins on this cooler you know if you stand right here your tip of your foot smashes the fence so the truck's definitely been worked on people have been standing up on there i don't know if there was a plow on it at one point in time because there's like a whole bunch of wiring kind of just hanging out like what's this yeah that sounds it looks pretty good so yeah little things like that we have to go through and button up but the major mechanical issue is that it is puking all kind of engine oil and transmission fluid so so this is the front of the engine underneath we're gonna have to do some serious investigation to see what exactly the oil is coming from i'm pretty sure it's on the timing cover i just hope it's not the rear part of the timing cover where you got to pull the cam to pull that one if that's the case then we might leave that until we pull the engine um i don't think the oil pan is in too bad of shape yeah i know i know these rust out i think the oil pan's okay the other day i cranked the speed bump way too fast and completely busted off the sway bar endless oh man moving back to the transmission side of things the transmission pan isn't really leaking it's just coming from the the main like bell housing of the transmission after i drive it for x amount of time it'll literally just pour fluid out of there it'll be a it'll be a steady drip um you can see it already dripping right there i think that looks like engine oil so i don't know if the engine oil is running off of the front running down the pan and running out of the back i obviously don't have the drippy drippy figured out but you know that's that's what we're doing that's why we're here but one thing i did notice is when i checked the transmission fluid it was still reading on the okay level so it's been puking a lot of fluid i just think that possibly when they were checking it they were checking it wrong and they kept adding fluid thinking that it was low but it in fact wasn't low so yeah so the wheels and tires aren't even close to fitting these are a 35 12 50 22 on a 22 by 12 negative whatever offset on a stock ride height uh ram 3500 so the amount of turning radius that i have is is non-existent so we either have to change out the tires or put a leveling kit or get the sawzall slash grinder and get in there and get a little crazy but i don't know if i want to cut the truck up because i mean it's already like brutal enough if we go just cacking it is it going to make it like a total pile i was thinking on either running toyo proxies or 420s or the new 420 or a 33 mud tire i don't know yet and also while we are on the front end area the entire steering system is completely jacked like i can turn the wheel and the cab is moving over the axle so i think that is track bar bushings [Music] but the thing has 200 some thousand miles on it and it doesn't look like anything in the front has ever been replaced as in upper and lower ball joints tie rod ends um the whole process looks pretty much untouched for a long time i mean at least if it's ever been done it hasn't been done in a while so it probably needs a complete front-end rebuild but one thing that it doesn't have is death wobble i haven't got the death wobble in it yet which i guess is a good thing all right it's moving down the truck the the passenger side rocker panel floorboard isn't you know really that bad you can see it starting to go underneath so i'm sure that's going to come around pretty soon it's the rear that's absolutely toast um yeah so the cab corner gonzo and the rest of the way oh it's bad it's not good so they did put a new bed on because they said they wrecked the old bed or it was just so rusted out that they needed a new one either way they put this one on and slammed the trailer into it so passenger side bedside is destroyed also they decided to use like drywall screws or self tappers and just send the fender flares on like it's cool thanks it does have a gooseneck hitch turnover ball i don't know if it's like a b w or whatever but we can move some goose necks with the old girl here rear bumper it doesn't have like dents but it's scratched to like no end um starting to rust out so maybe a roll pan in the future and no tailgate dude where's the tailgate driver's side bed side look it still has like the uh salvage yard like writing on it um driver's side bedside is okay there's not really any dents or anything like that you can't see because the stupid road was covered in mud but yes this side in fact does have the drywall screws on the fender flares overall underneath the mud the driver's side is pretty solid so driver's side fender fairly straight no real dents uh clear coat is like shredding off looks like tape and there you go there's a full walk around um of the body it's not horrible oh we got to change the mirrors i absolutely hate those mirrors if you got a cummins you got to drive around with your mirrors up no i'm kidding but i do hate those mirrors those suckers have to go why would they why would these even be an option all right so there you go guys the journey on the cummins daily driver has officially begun i've messed with it a little bit up until now but now it is really starting uh powershook is outside we're patiently waiting on the dyno software to take it down to spe we're gonna put on the dyno we're gonna tap the stock injectors which we're gonna be on serious redline with engine internals and transmissions so that should be fun but in the meantime i'm excited to start this new journey and i'm excited that we have the wood burner in here because winter is coming in quick here in pittsburgh and it's already cold and gloomy and nasty outside so so any comments on the truck any thoughts on what we should do first we're probably going to get it safe to drive and then we're going to start adding power should we tune it first because i know you can add like 250 horsepower to these trucks i think stock they put down like 240 or something to the wheels you can run probably like 500 with a custom tune stock everything i could be wrong on that should we tune it first before we add any mods to see what it can make stock because i'm i'm curious i'd really like to know but alright guys that's it thank you for tuning in today hit that subscribe button join the family join the journey with the cummins daily driver we're gonna start tackling this thing immediately like i said we have a ton to do and then she should be ready to take me through winter but guys that's it i'm out peace
