alright guys welcome back to another video here on the John dock YouTube channel we're taking a very professional take at this video and it's gonna go downhill from the start so we're gonna start really good here we've got a table what you guys never see in this job and we got engine that's not dripping oil everywhere what you guys also never see before but what we're doing today is a fill is our director of budget on on the box chevy build and we've got a route we're gonna go and you're gonna make sure that I don't go pull up Colorado on allow race car on but you doing the Colorado so I've directed that budget it'll have been rented on rates and so we've been doing donuts birdhouse everything they'll probably hit the told her a couple times not yet not soon but as you just know from watching there's Colorado build went from being the discount drive new so call the discount dragging because there are some if you want discount but now it has a crank driven act f1x on it in 460 and jealous ex get built for it and we're not doing that at the box so we're doing the Box a similar to Eddie Murphy similar to the Ranger Oh a new name for that it's called the strangler Ranger and similar to the range of built in Eddie Murphy we're going to do a stock bottom end five three here with we're gonna do twin turbo I think pump gas and we're taking the 400 out of the Ranger and putting it in the box so it was be like you put it drive and go you're gonna plant as a take this thing from Ireland North Carolina driving to Darlington make a couple minutes and drive it back for deep pod on 24 also pull and I think we should lower we got a Justin suspension and address suspension is ya know so we don't die yes but right here in front of us this engine has been with us since the early start of LS nasty I don't really throw shade on this channel throw shade but I will tell you got the truth like a couple years ago I've said couple years I like a little bit over here ago probably ran half go went on Facebook this dude was selling LS engines that had like built bottom ends and everything in them and we picked up one that was stock bottom in but everything was supposed to be fresh I've gone through it and the other one was forged rotating assembly which became the engine in the boost of rooster but when we pulled that one apart and whatever they had like a main bearing machine they're supposed to have a foreign stroke rank and didn't it was just absolute mess it was definitely the front of it oh yeah there was like sticker hat actually was was Ash's sake it came from the guys at the Palmetto auto pros I believe was their name and the only reason why I'm saying the name is because they took a 6-2 aluminum block and a set of ls3 heads that I had for repair and I never got it back so that's why they're named yes other than that I don't think they even do anything anymore I can't get my block back it is what it is I don't really want it I don't need it the heads don't need them any so we're all good there but the reason why we argue if you do what we're doing this engine is because we were scared there are missing main bearings this is a stock rotating assembly but they pulled everything out of the block and I think they attempted to put any bearings in this we got to make sure they put them all in but and we've been grinding all this moment yeah this motor it's got metal all over it communities as a mock-up clock but it's throw some steaks to turn Rock a minute so we'll pull that out so this video what we're gonna be doing is we're gonna be pulling the rotating assembly out of it checking it making sure all the bear into there put it back together we're gonna do the old single ball home that you guys have seen on the Cletus MacFarlane Channel and we're just gonna clean it up and get there knock the rust out of it it's a metal out of it and put it back together so it'll hopefully run and drive when we put in the box if bill is gonna be our lead one thing i do want to state you want to put the Pistons back in the same holes that came out of and thankfully they actually carved the numbers into the top of the piston Jessica T one three five seven I am concerned that some of them are upside down but I think they just extra Don they're wrong eight Sue's does yeah and what I I think they just extra Don they're incorrectly but it's a pistol upside down to dot Seville knobs aside yeah so we're good but thank you to the guys at Palmetto Auto pros for doing that that's awesome so now we have we know what what hole it's got to go in what is is that a - it looks like an eight not the - it's upside down though alright so your standard truck five three and generally what I would say is don't take the bottom end out of it just put a cam in it and ride but we have to do this so we're gonna put some stuff on the table here and here I don't think that we're gonna be able to spin this one all the way around because I put these badass washers on here you know I'm saying that's all I really need to go half way don't let that thing get away from don't let it get away from you Phil oh god we clicked here pull it out some I'm not an expert pulling on all right stock crank so the windage tray is not space they got that down we got a timing chain on there they got that done the crank is actually painted blue like the block it blows my mind that this is this is occurring in the crank looks absolutely horrible not gonna lie it's probably not that bad a lot of this stuff is superficial like it could look bad but it'll run fine so don't get scared by me say oh that looks terrible it'll run just fine you can it's an engine these things are pretty strong you can neglect them to a pretty extreme extent before stuff really starts getting bad alright Phil really gonna do that who's gonna pull this apart why would we do something like that [Music] Wow all that now let's see here this is definitely look at how they just painted everything you could tell it it's like it's got the peanut butter stuff on there like they had it they definitely had this apart 100% look at the carving in the dam who assembled this motor what did they use used oil that they like feel the counterweight of the crank it assumed it's I've never pulled a stop bottom in the part yeah you definitely have all right we need to get a crank bolt oh we got a put we got to pull the front cover off I'm interested a really interesting if this is an actual stage free turbo cam like supposed to be in here I don't think they did cam bearings on this no and it's missing a can bear I hope I said bumpy well you probably beat on budget you want to reuse this oh yeah budget so it has more oil psi there's no way that's a melon oil palm I owe you a replacement no yeah this is uh I know you know it is autozone you know it might be oh you know this what is it huh oh I'll get that stamina rhino lightweight cam gear oh that one wasn't even in there it was there doesn't just have that off so they're all the same bolts tbh then what's your thought is this gonna have mains in it main bearings how's that feels it has a gasket feel on that needs a gasket yeah get me a lord show come on Phil get it Phil get it Phil don't Nick it cam looks new promising it's almost like I've done this before one we got a Google with cam specs I look at the blue on the reluctor yeah there's a blue all over this I'm curious about these caps right here what about them I wonder if you got them they look to be on the right so a stock rod it's a cracked main cap so it's not like you it only has one home you can't put number seven cap on number six or else you just have to mash it down the tapered side out flat sides toward one weight towards one another well this isn't this isn't correct then yeah I was thinking these two cute caps up to try and see cuz I'm telling me oh but it's not comp bumper cam shut up that's the camera it's not a stage two or hydraulic roller cam what like this is it for boost road to seventy five to ninety five to seventy five definitely don't need to hit these with a hammer hold on okay so tapered side is out flat side I'll get all the peanut butter they put on that on the bearings tapered side in they put them on backwards both yeah just like you like see how these look like they're going the same way yeah they have to be facing away from one another so that means one of these Pistons is or put on the rod backwards I don't think they put that took the piston put took it out from the rod they got a goo here push this guy out at the bottom for me whoo but under said what would not talk I think it was put together by people that know less than what we're scared well the rod is like damn pull them out fill our budget he's gone out the window already oh that's actually how they going [Music] oh god dude triangles are not floating whispering I mean but still though like that move it is that not good I'm really concerned about this moving spraying wd-40 on it every month for the past eight months yeah plus all the metal shavings they've been thought been is over here just absolutely losing his mind what's going on okay so both these edges are beveled a little bit well this is number seven hence because they they carved it into they're not perfectly square right here it's got like a little bit of a round built up all the peanut butter yeah whatever that is so where this counterweight this line is it's got kind of like just like a rounded edge at the bottom down there and so they had to cut this in there where the two flat sides go wouldn't it be so much easier if you just never take apart the bottom end no because you know no I'm saying like when you get the engine from GM don't take the bottom end apart VM the other day like why would you take it apart it's a stock motor it's like 400 bucks if it blows up go get another board all the oil I don't know enough about this stuff I let tkm put all this stuff together and clearly they seem to know what they're doing I'd of the others backwards I because he had it in wrong yeah so he's got a chamber up against uh they pull the Pistons off the rods did I pull the Pistons off the rods and that's why they put them on the rod backwards they put them all in here backwards dang yeah you definitely definitely press those out because uh it's pretty it's pretty bad though feel that you hold it the pin no I got home come over to the rotating assembly section of the shop here let's go up here to our our storage you know what this is what I get for selling every rotating assembly I get I think I got cranks up here looks like we need to get another one nope I sold everything I got a set of heads I got two sets of heads that's it I sold all my rotating assemblies Oh okay Q I don't hear so well you're coming back into it now you like a fresh rack of barbecued ribs well we have to revisit this hey maybe cranks good we could just do a set out like dude why don't we just do the most Chinese set of droppin know like cheaper than that let's just try to go like I think they make some off-brand stuff that's even cheaper like let's do a set a summit like Pistons and rods it's probably like 700 bucks percent if it works I'm definitely gonna build a motor for money we're not gonna push it that hard alright God alright let's go well we got to tear it all apart anyways so Frank not being good it's still budget where does it on a different budget now oh my god did they file these rings no they did it didn't look like he did who's that ring that what ring Gatlin there is no ring what ring that he's out of total sale rings that may be like a five dog no that's like that's like three two or three thousands maybe one if we try to start this thing out what would happen okay so they'll it would have locked up but if this was always the only problem the first time you hit it with any substantial amount of boost blow the rings until it can't no more and then the hydraulic like the pressure that gets built up in the neck through we're just like oh my god well guys we're still doing budget but you're gonna see the cheapest use use parts we can do um the crank should be fine though so we can do like a super cheap piston rods deal we're talking about like summit brand oh yeah this yeah always again stick on the outside yeah yeah and so if you see the rods and they're all going the same way and you're in trouble where they all go on the same way so Hector and his two spoon ends Anders was putting this together and he should stick to his is a to be 28 is that wrong [Laughter] it's sealed itself so they obviously come with more me time and meat on them and you have to file them down well you should have been stock rings like know they put data phone put like at the top was supposed to be like 26 and the next one supposed to be 28 26 and 28 28 30 yeah that's like what you run generally what about two and five you get a run like it all goes up like you know where it's like you're at like half a pound of booze and you know I'll motor still cracker alright so new strategy you let's take everything out make sure the cranks good let's let's see if it has the last one didn't have main bearings in it so will we use the crank and we'll just get the cheapest set of Pistons and rods and yeah but but if they we're doing ultra budget set up ultra budget Chinese parts because we know that some that stuff is probably still it's like whatever II will use the board their rods right yeah that's what I'm saying yeah yeah we summit Rob's a basic marriages arrived and they got all the scrap metal in there they just remelt that and then you buy is it $200 per set of rods what I wonder if they're I beams cost 400 maybe great okay what's the one they saw that Chinese rod no-name off-brand H beam 1500 wheel horsepower I'm like sure all right Wow all right so not that it matters but we found another issue with this five three just took the Pistons and rods out and as you can see here it has this issue with all of them where they're just stiff I mean they're just they're locked yeah they're locked in there yeah grease everywhere and not only is it not a 5 3 4 8 2 4 8 been what crankshaft is this the 1 2 5 5 3 4 8 2 meaning it's a 4.8 liter so this badass 5 3 that we got is not even a 5 3 this is a this is Genomes 4.8 liter center counterweighted billet crankshaft the center weighted billet craigers mugs are like eight grand I think I have another crank laying around over here [Music] doesn't matter it's like offsets tiny from here to here I mean to me a turbo motor 90 degrees so it really doesn't matter but right well go stock crank and then we'll do pistons and rods I got to set a heads up there we'll take the 660 Springs that came off the black sheep when we'll put them on these heads because I mean it's not going to float the valves making 10 pounds apiece we're putting it in the box I mean I was gonna run it on 93 Oh more car parts alright well we have a game plan we're still be budget though we're gonna stay in budget sue and what we'll do is we'll list the price of everything that we're at the budget nice to get crazy budget stock heads not ported new Springs push rods cost like 70 bucks Ultra budget what are we gonna do about like machine work if we do a set of Pistons a little dingleberry [Music] I hate you so much all right well I guess let's crank out of this I think the crank out of this and let's dingleberry hone it all right guys I searched through the shop I found some parts so energy components to put this budget build together I really truly do believe that we can get it done in a budget fashion but you doesn't
