BRITISH VS AMERICAN ACCENTS!

hey guys welcome back to my channel or just do the British a yeah if you guys can tell from the title I am I should say I hope you're having a fantastic day and I'm here today with my friend Cheryl he's British you want to tell the story of home with a basic hair too and but I was the first person to ever recognize Sara yes in public I guess I'm summer in the city I kind of ran up to her and was like you're so right and they're like yeah who are you English I would not know yes I was a bit surprised yeah we already subscribed yet that was about almost a year ago yeah and I thought four thousand five thousand subscribers at the time yeah so you were definitely the first engine ever recognized really that was just like hi I didn't really know honey I still I still never know how to react but it was really nice I was super duper flattered and you know here we are both happen to be in Amsterdam for VidCon and I thought you guys loved our cultural differences videos and as always Switzerland but since Cheryl is British do you say British reduce a tingling with okay cheap English we're going to do like a pronunciation test challeng my G is pretty funny yeah so we're good we have a list of words and I guess apparently they're pronounced super different in u.s. versus UK so we could go down the list we're going to each to say it how we would say it and you guys I should mention Cheryl if you throw your own channel video yeah what do you talk about on it um I guess I kind of talked about expat life that's kind of my main focus and the thing that I think is my unique yeah but I mean I took a little bit asked about minimalism some other interests I have but mainly it's kind of my life between London and Paris relevant MERIS house a whole set sound you guys should challenge pet so how would you pronounce that first word fossil okay I would say basil or basil would be like a really um food westerner so okay we disagree on that one okay next word I would say that herb hub okay more of a huh okay yeah herb okay next one are you over tomato some tomato of course tomatoes but that's also cringe for you is just different accents in the air all the time on UNIX I watch American films and such rare American people okay let's go to this one I can't I like this word next I can't imagine how else it could possibly be pronounced so tuna muna yeah but mine's more of a tuna tuna you put like a CH a tuna okay tuna okay okay okay next word I would pronounce that turtle subtile for tile you actually say all the letters like you're probably saying that how it's actually supposed to be sad if I head again next one fat a really yeah when I was gonna say about it O'Malley I would be that would be residue Paris's okay I actually know okay this word I'm going to say I know how she's gonna say it she's gonna say laboratory laboratory oh oh you're wrong there as soon as I heard of Pelican Australia coming yeah facepalm yeah I would say laboratory yeah we kind of like smush the middle syllable laboratory laboratory which is a laboratory am I just making that up okay next word I would pronounce garage Garrett oh that what is totally different it okay we should like make each other say it so Garrett garage it's not really the hottest bathroom bathroom though people would say bathroom but for some reason I say bastard bathroom but and but I think you know obviously in the u.s. if you're in a restaurant you think woman's the bathroom but you don't pin that in England they say web toys where's the toilet yeah and I think I tend to say that Malcolm in German and like and I think in most languages when they where is the toilet and then for some reason in the u.s. we say it's kind of you some line yeah yeah so we say and I was going to go chicken ba-ba yeah yeah ba but I say fast man yeah so weird and weird I think if you would say in the US like where's the toilet Tex like I'll be honest it sounds like you're super desperate like perhaps because it's in a toilet like right now like something Bad's about to happen where's the toilet not the bathroom like this toilet itself it sounds a little bit crude I think maybe we say that in American Jack White survives exactly I think on WCVB you said in England in processing but no rent yet which is funny because people say it stands for water closet yeah and they use it in Germany but it's English it's kind of weird oh okay I'm going to look at this again I'm gonna guess how Cheryl is going to pronounce this word I think she's going to say advertisement advertisement no but I think I don't know what my pronunciation am I am I thinking but I don't know cuz I think sometimes a monthly assessment and vert Iseman every advertisement every times yes definitely depends where you're from in the US how you say some of these words definitely okay this one you go ahead calm calm calm yeah we've done a can hand would this be premier Premier so Graham yeah Oh what am i a tail again Tommy yeah yeah like I don't know I'm like saying it in a tow right and I am you like I'm making it up as I go next I would say I'd ever know about my I think my new I know I know I know you're going to say it I see this is a movie aluminium condominiums yes aluminium we say aluminium aluminium you're pretty good at that okay again okay how would how would I pronounce this word and and like a cruel thing and yeah you pronounce it differently and on you pronounce and how do you pronounce a crawling one and I didn't know that yeah we say and and and you say and and oh yeah everyone thinks like we think they tell mine she thinks I talk funny it's it's all just this dish different shouldn't matter frankly wrong come on I'm trying to be all is like we're all right guys it doesn't know I'm not good at business yeah if you if you want a bit of fat I go check out I should have to put the British in me though is it I think so a little bit rough around the edges yeah I think with well the Americans are more kind of polite and they want to make people feel at ease where's with us Brits are just like there's nothing else I think you know it you know I don't really know we need any English people so I I don't really have a lot of experience that you know any other Americans I know load of Canadians but not really American so much I mean I know some from in terms of like you listening to them speaking and so I thought but not pepper tonight yeah yeah so those are some words that are pronounced a little bit differently but now we're going to say like I call it one thing and you call it something completely different yeah so when you apply for a job and you go for the interview and like you hmmm paper with your qualifications what you call that CV the CV yeah we say resume OBC ansan resumes oh good I think most Americans would not understand CV I think that would be like what on earth are you talking about I really I think spelling yeah okay oh okay so this but I'm holding in my hand how do you call it in my bones move on my cell phone we definitely say cells although I think people refers them now quite often for our names just your iPhone or your FAFSA that's faster in the next room so when you are out and you can pay with a credit card and you have to go get money once you get it out of what is that machine called cash machine cash machine or an ATM okay API method oh yeah yeah but that's not so not true to say like oh my gosh machine so ATM okay so um over here like in Europe the first floor like I shouldn't say first before we out the first floor that you walk into in a building what do you call it ground floor ground floor right and then up one is sunsource floor but we call the one that is on the ground we call it the first floor and then the okay yeah yeah yeah like I think is it an all North America or just us I think it's most North American so like the one right on the ground is the first floor and then you go up one side stairs you're on the second floor you ever heard of that matrix so what was the ground moving first floor the ground floor doesn't reduce it will not be like the Bereans basement no basement if it's
