I'll have to give the whole thing a watch. I've got a 1973 EIMCO 1-yard loader that I need to restore, waiting on time and money to do it.

[Music] Oh [Music] [Music] sweet redemption [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] baby baby she never faked protection wrong [Music] tonio I want is hurting me [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] to [Applause] I'll get that [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] you all right we welded the top on here now it's time to take a look at underneath we definitely have some cracking here which gives me a little bit of fear welding next to these hydraulic lines that are definitely old and it's not really something we want to replace so I think I'm gonna clean this all up with the wire wheel drape it with that welding blanket and then get do the best I can to just get some hold on there without warming up these hydraulic lines I'm sure I'll see more cracks when I wire wheel this but I noticed this was welded before on the other side all the way across here and then stitch welded here and here and in the front too so this thing's been through the wringer for sure but let's let's get a little bit of oh yeah let's get a little bit of stuff on there so all right let's do it okay get this grease off still [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] simply [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] hey guys it's good do some commentary here I haven't really filled you in on this project so I just finished putting the first cut on these tire rims and the counterweight which is the back engine cover this is a bobcat 743 1986 I haven't really done commentary because pretty much I've been sanding this thing and sanding is pretty boring I get these new orange boots also they're pretty sweet but I wanted to show you guys this card trick basically it's really handy if you've ever tried to tape a tire off with just alright let me turn this fan off so what I was saying if you've ever tried to tape a tire off with like blue tape you know that you'll always get little diamonds like around here because you can never get it perfect you couldn't you can I'm not saying you can't it just takes forever this is fast and efficient I bought a pack of like 12 playing cards for 10 bucks on Amazon and you just stick them in where the bead meets the rim and you can spray right up to it sometimes it doesn't fit very nice like here these were starting to blow out it depends on your bead but yeah and you can see here with the glare I wasn't able to get all the scratches off I didn't this was supposed to be a quick job and I went way to perfect on it actually got the sides really nice here where it where it mattered there's a little bit down there that should be bonded you can kind of see that I should have bonded that I did trust some filler primer but it just wasn't worth it for this old machine but we're gonna make it nice the paint I'm using is AG Specialties industrial enamel bobcat match except for the black that's just a gloss rust-oleum and i'm going to be using a thinner I'm sorry a hardener for the white paint and the final cut on this I forgot it for this pass but that'll take another coat these guys need this bobcat back ace after a landscape company and I spent way too long trying to make it perfect I still have to weld a piece up there go the Bob catch and change all the fluids in it and they need it like two weeks ago so kind of sad it's my fault I should have uh shouldn't a bit up the job but that's my buddy's trying to help him out trying to do a really good job I want this thing to last forever which it will but make it look good as well so what I'm gonna do right now that black paint is wet but I'm actually gonna spray the undercarriage here with the white and the hardener test it out one in an inconspicuous area and - because I can't mask this yet and I'm afraid of white every speck is so contrasting so I can't really spray that or the interior which is also black right now I'll have to mask that as well but if I can get that under coated two coats of white on it I think we'll be good to go and then tomorrow I can pop those tires on I could take all four tires off I'm just worried about this thing leaning back so I have this side still on and yes there's ever spray on the tire it's it's fine it'll come off in a second but then I'm gonna pull this side off sanding into their prime under there this primer is a rust-oleum rusty metal primer it's pretty much the best bang for your buck in in this this is uh you know a pretty cheap remodel on this thing so if you go to Bobcat you'll be spending I don't know thousand bucks on paint and we're probably around half that in materials here so I'll put links to that paint on Amazon I believe I got on Amazon yeah but the cab is perfect I also had to weld as you've seen that plate there the plate is not actually like I've welded underneath like that side is like a stitch weld but I always put a plate on top of it even that's ugly-ass in because it just adds that much more resistance to that weld cracking because this metal is gonna stretch when you run into stuff and I also have to change the pins on the bottom god I forgot about that another trick you may have seen me done up to this point is tinfoil and I cover my cylinders with tinfoil because it's way faster than taping and the tinfoil just forms to almost any surface it's really handy for car stuff you can bend it around curves you can manipulate it you can form it and it's a really quick masking technique but yeah so my goal for the white is actually to mask all the black and then just go to town I do have some black overspray you can see there I should have probably masked that but another white will cover that so yep and then since this in the air too it's a pretty simple masking because most of the paint won't go up that high I'll just probably drape it with the cardboard cover that gas tank cover the black here in the engine while transmission department there and paint it white alright that's all I got let's get back to work [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right we have just finished the second coat of white and I put these tires back on over here and second coat on these these will need another coat in the rims there's some rough spots you can see here they're pretty deep pull this side off masked off my cap and my cab got a second coating on my third coat I'm gonna use a hardener and I'll explain that next time but it's an enamel hardener it delays the dry time thought I was leaking there yeah this is on Amazon it's like 10 bucks has a half-hour wait time to mix chemical reaction with the enamel yeah this is my little paint station I didn't really show this but yeah this enamel you thin with mineral spirits and the rest Olli am I used for the cab you thin with acetone and I use strainers and I'll do like it's five to ten percent I kind of just do it by eye thinning on that and this is a Harbor Freight paint gun it's actually doing really well I'll clean it up at the end they used to just let it go to the end of the project obviously the inside gets cleaned out each time I flush it with mineral spirits three times wipe it out and then blow middle squares through the tip that's how I clean it every night or between colors take some time but it's worth it the results are great using the tinfoil trick gun I've shown you to protect my cylinders and some other parts that should not be painted white myself to change these bushings on here it's gonna be a rush on that all the weld patches on this thing this thing will still out us my lifetime but yeah I want to give you another update trying to do a little update over every paint pass I missed a spot right there you can see it third coat cover everything should be good to go then we'll put it all back together you touch-up paint I bought some new glass plexiglass the windows we will cut that out and I've already painted these guys black some of the small components yeah that's about it it is now midnight and I'm four hours into this for the night and it is time to call it quits I'll see you guys on the next round of paint [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] as you cannot seem to give to me I am back with the stolen identity should give me visas Buchan Jesus can [Music] tract [Music] ever since the [Music] [Music] No and [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh I will make my [Music] but now it's time to [Applause] [Music] with us these are the Sommers cousin the first time [Applause] difficult times she call it all right so I got the pivot pins out here's the old ones I thought this surface would be more worn than it is it's definitely worn but uh here's the new ones and of course they don't have a hole on the back like this one for grease to get there because they're not Bobcat they're just reproduction and not only that but my sleeves so the sleeve goes here it's a pivot pin bushing are the wrong size too so the question is does this fit nicer than this yeah it definitely does but I need that bushing too dang I guess I got to drill this out oh yeah I can see the where right here yep and drag my nail across that so these are bad so that that's a positive thing but the fact that well why does it need a hole why does it need a grease hole I guess it doesn't all right so the new pin fits a lot nicer we're just gonna swap that out is this is the wrong sleeve I'll change those at a later date and hopefully those threads are the same as this but yeah this these are definitely worn I just didn't visually see it this one's not as bad as that one but anyways let's change the pins got the other new one these are from ebay there's the number a six seven zero seven five two one they don't have the hole on the end but I think that's just for removal so let's not forget this washer and I'm gonna push this in and I'm gonna I'll either use the jack now I'll probably just use the Bobcat to lift it up and get the pins lined up so let's do it [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] just remember your head all the that you know [Applause] and tomorrow [Music] fear [Music] [Applause] make a move the twist to the [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right this is the last of the Bobcat 743 it is restored to the point where I am happy with it for our time allowance and budget allowance for this project I actually have a punch list of a ton of other stuff that needs done to it I got changed the front pins in this this arm and bunch of stuff but we'll get into that in the future don't worry this thing will be back this thing has been in my friend group for a number of years it's been in my family's my friends family spent friend group for even longer this machine has taught us a lot and I even made a little Instagram story about it that captures the moment pretty well so I'll post that despite it might bring you to some some tears but I figured I'd keep this description fairly simple but yeah we basically repainted the whole thing changed all the fluids it's ready to go my buddy's landscape company owns this currently but we've operated it for a lot more years than they've owned it and it's always been a crappy little Bobcat you know and now it's something museum worthy I'm not that good but I'm pretty proud of this restoration we did all the paint we did the new glass we did a bunch of things and yeah hopefully one day I will learn this machine and if not I know that it's being put to good use being used what it was designed for the Bobcats 743 with a four-cylinder Kubota diesel engine lift capacity is 1,300 pounds although you can lift a ton with it you just ride on the front wheels if you're a little bit skilled yeah I really don't have anything else to say except thanks for watching guys really appreciate it if you're interested in this I have a lot more restorations coming this way the next project is a 1960 John Deere 1010 backhoe and if you scroll down a few videos you'll see my me picking up the machine and it needs a lot more work than this guy but yeah let's get on that one and please subscribe and like this video it helps me out a lot and I know you guys will be interested in the future on the other videos I do please stick around the channel you you won't regret it I promise you thanks for watching [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the [Music] yep like Christmas this truly is saying I'd say that I got it 30 feet already so you didn't have to feel bad thank you actually Chad boyfriend then top house I just gave up yeah look at that yeah suppressed [Music] she's back kiddo put all the change afoot [Music] so I actually redid this one I want to see how it locks [Music] [Applause] like a vintage vodka I know what's that I'm pretty happy with it did it's just unreal the mouth noburo was a manufacturer and it was Ingersoll Rand alright so this is the last of the Bobcat is completely finished restored back to a part where I'm happy with it now I just want to say a few things about this Bobcat this is not just a restoration for money I barely made any of this my friends who owned this and their landscaping company basically just paid me for the paint and the Parts I used I restored this Bobcat because this Bobcat means a lot to me and a lot to other people my group of friends we started our businesses with this Bobcat we built a lot of driveways retaining walls learn how to do concrete learn how to be men and that you know 8 to 10 year span of learning how to use this thing taught us lifelong lessons that you can't get anywhere else you can't get it in school and because of that this Bobcat deserves this sort of treatment I have 130 hours into this thing and it's a mild restoration but it's something I'm very proud of and I think it's worthy of that this Bobcats almost 40 years old or over 40 is 40 to 43 years old which is amazing and I wanted to last another hundred years and not only do I want to honor like my group of guys and restoring this I want to honor the people who owned this in the past some of them are not with us today and I hope that they're looking down in heaven from what I've done here and are proud of it and proud of me and proud of our my friend group of what we've become as men and Christian men of that we are some of the most humble honest hard-working guys and I don't say that lightly and the guys who used to own this are the most blue-collar hard-working people I've ever met in some I haven't even met them but I know that this restoration was done to honor them so with that being said and a crack open nice scores and cheers to that cheers to blue-collar workers hard-working determined individuals [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
