hi guys are you here with naravid for blender and this one we're going to be talking about k cycle x addon which i think is bloody amazing and most people were buying this addon because you know it speeds up rendering but i think that that's not the main feature of this add-on from the artistic point of view this adam does much more than that and i'm just blown the away so first of all i wanted to say thanks to the creator and chip walters who just probably spent like two or something days you know talking to me about it we were solving some problems and kind of you know coming up with questions and actually some improvements and uh it was very productive and actually learned you know quite a few interesting things so now i want to talk to you about it i want to show you the features and why i think this item is going to be like you know that's it i mean i'm rendering in key psycho sex i'm sold so let me let me show you okay first of all um when you download the add-on the add-on is a bit different like you don't unpack it you don't install it like any other add-on you run it from the add-on folder so you unzip it and you when you open k-cycles folder it looks exactly like blender with the difference that you know the key cycles logo replaces blender logo so when you run it you run k cycles kind of blender okay so now the key cycles x runs on the new um alpha k cycles built of blender cycles so it's a new render engine but we're gonna be comparing this to blender 3.0 okay so now i have an image open here in blender 3.0 i have the same image open in blender in k cycles and i already rendered them and i'm going to show you the difference in time okay first of all that's blender 3.0 and the render time was 2 minutes 21 seconds in k cycles it took exactly half the time it took 1 minute 11 seconds okay so that's first difference second thing is that we were rendering quite a heavy image okay we were rendering an image that um has volumetrics has complex lighting and also has depth of field and the you know memory taken here is about 13 gigabytes so it's not you know it's not a light lightweight file and i was rendering this with you know with two blenders open at the same time okay so you know that should give you an idea how fast that one is but speed is really not what i'm after because i don't care if i'm rendering in one minute or two minutes i'll be honest what i care about is quality and that's exactly what this add-on is delivering and let me show you uh on this example so i'm going to start this on top of this render here and let's just go to full view and there you go so now the first image is the image from k cycles okay this is k cycles x and the second one is actually blender 3.0 the lighting everything is the same there's no difference between these two renders okay but the result is staggering it's just so different so first of all what i see is a difference in lighting the way k cycles reach lighting is very different especially through volumetrics the quality of shadows and highlights it's much defined it's kind of like put together it's neater you know the bloom is cleaner okay because i do have um in this blender here i have compositors set up okay so i had the denoising and glare by the way i was rendering it 250 samples and the same with k cycles 250 samples so you know settings are identical okay i had the denoiser kick in and i didn't have the glare keykin for bloom and so i wanted to keep you know keep the settings more or less the same between these two version because k cycles also you know you can add bloom um all kinds of effects and we're going to talk about it in a minute but let me just continue the quality battle because that's insane okay now let me show you what's the difference between uh the blender 3.0 and k cycles x when we're actually gonna zoom into the image okay so when i zoom into the image and you're gonna start seeing how this image falls apart look how muddy this area looks right look how uh how dirty you can't really see it in this image you can kind of see it in here kind of like a splotchiness on the floor i don't know if you can see them on on youtube but you can see it in these areas for the reflections but there's anything complicated with lights you know near this edge of the landing gear but watch how clean that will be when i'm gonna show you k cycles x version right look how clean that becomes i haven't done any editing on these image images whatsoever look how how clean that light is how much crisper that light is okay everything becomes more crisp and defined look at the side panels this is already this is splotchiness i was talking about yeah look at this right we are really zoomed in into the image but that's the whole point right that's not even 100 it's like probably 400 this is 100 view right look at the quality of shadows and highlights when i toggle it on and off how more tucked in that image is how more defined the shadows are i think this is amazing okay there's like no post processing on this whatsoever right so that is blowing me the away okay the cool part about k cycles x is the toys all right so now before you actually start rendering and i think that's just genius okay you can have fun with all these settings here so now these settings here i mean i encourage you to go to the website and if you're interested in buying it just read the documentation watch all the videos because i'm not going to be talking about all these settings you know why i have these on why i have them off etc i want to talk about these because that's where the fun is okay now for example bloom watch what happens when i turn it off and on okay i can adjust everything in here okay i can adjust intensity all right i can adjust you know size of the bloom blend etc even the bloody color i mean how cool is this that's a preview you know normally when you do this right you need to be in um you need to render an image and then you play with the compositor settings you can do this in a bloody viewport which i think is just great now then you got flares and glares and glitters are awesome like they had you know these kind of like streak effects of of lights there you go you got these streaks of you know kind of like uh um bursting stars of light etc you can change the color you can you can make them softer um you can you can make them thinner it's you could kind of blur them you know with the background it's a really cool man what you can do with this thing is awesome so now you know there's a lot of settings here that you should pay attention to like ghosting then you got like for example lens distortions like chromatic aberrations and vignetting you know inside of the the preview so you get a lot of toys that you can play with and you can even add film grain to your image if you want to so add grain to it which is gonna be injected after the cleaning okay so just like you were as you were injecting you know some kind of a post-processing effect in photoshop you can even change contrast okay so you can change here you can change the exposure of the whole image okay you can change the whole color of image you can choose the white balance okay that is brilliant you can change the white balance i mean how cool is this uh you can change the you know tint of an image okay you can make it hold you know entire image blue so there's so much you can do with this addon it's just mind-blowing okay and you know and this this doesn't really impact that much the render time which is fantastic so if i render this now i'm going to render it now okay and you'll see that uh let's see how long it's gonna take okay okay so render it even faster two seconds faster which is interesting okay and there you go that's your starting image i mean how cool is this right it's just brilliant you know uh what you can do with this now this addon i think is for serious people okay for people who really care about the the look of their portfolio of their vendors because if you know if you're just half-assing portfolios then this is not for you okay um you just waste your time this is for people who like to tweak stuff who like to really arrive okay with the renders and want to be proud of what they created they just like to play with compositions with lighting this is for serious people okay so you know if that's that's you that wow okay this is like this is a must-have for me okay now i want to show you one thing that actually took us a bloody day to figure out and cheap cheap actually chipotles figured this out and i don't know how he figured it out but you know he knows too much anyway when you are rendering with decals okay and this is a real problem right um you might actually notice that you will be seeing an alpha layer around the decal and if you do what you need to do is select the decal go here to to this panel and you need to scroll up here and turn off glass if you turn on gloss you see what happens i can see the alpha background of the decal i don't really know why that happens um as long as i can get rid of it i'm good so this is the only downside i think of you know using this because you have a lot of decals you probably have to do it manually maybe the creator is going to add a button here that's gonna be basically or maybe you know um there's gonna be a button that will allow you to turn that off with one click i actually might request this because i also suggested one thing that um you know that he adds um a reset button to each of this of these categories so you don't have to reset these sliders manually you just click a button it resets everything or specific groups but i think a button that would uncheck this glossiness you know in the um in this tab here will be fantastic because i'm checking each digger manually it's you know it's a bit of a chore by the way i just wanted to point out that if you have a problem like that with this item this is how you solve it you simply uncheck glossy and you're fine okay peachy so anyway guys um in conclusion amazing worth every penny i'll pay hundred dollars for this it's so good yeah so if you're interested link in the video description um i'm definitely gonna be using that i don't because i think it's just bloody amazing and the quality of of lighting in volumetrics okay and the the light bounce quality okay the diffusion is so bloody good you just can't you can't achieve it the same result with you know at lower samples because you know we could push this uh cycles render to like let's say 500 700 whatever samples but then you would be rendering this for for hours you know the whole point of using compositor is to drop the the render time really low um because it can go low on on on on the render samples but you can see clearly from this example that the quality is just not there you know it's just muddy and also it's just you know it's not put well together okay it's just you know the highlights all over the place the shadows are washed out this is really nice and crisp okay this is really you know really well cooked okay so that's my thoughts on key cycles x i think uh it's a it's a bloody bargain uh for what you're getting because i think it's like i don't know how much it costs now i think it's like 36 bucks or something but it's on a discount so you might want to hire up if you want to grab it and but um um i i think this is worth 50 bucks easily okay um because that's you know that that's think about it that's the that's the end of the stick okay that's what the client's gonna see your render they don't give a who you are you know what you struggle in life they don't give a what they care about is the effect because that's what they're paying for okay that's what they're paying for so if they're gonna look at your portfolio and see they're not gonna get you know you're gonna get hired okay they're gonna see nicely you know delivered images then it's gonna catch their eye all right guys that's it from me hope you enjoyed the video give us like and sub if you did like i said link to the add-on in the video description grab it if you don't have it because i think it's worth it thanks for watching catch you soon
