is he going to get the push from the 51 is darling oh this is gonna hurt the 22 here comes the 48 Sadler down below the line slides back up in front of his teammate just the 48 he's gotta steer clear [Music] how did elliott sadler get back on the road and not lose any ground he's gonna have a chance to win this race if he pulls high Joey Logano gets a drive-through how about that for Brendan Poole and Owen a big hit from Blake Joey Logano with damage the same for Blake cook what a great win for Brennan Poole 26 1004 this moment to win on the main stage of NASCAR when you're up front being a social level to being pushed around by the person behind you and that's exactly what happened watch Elliott a great move the outside we're gonna block you there I got to go low Elliott Sadler did everything he do to win this race cyborg NASCAR is still reviewing the finish and they will have all of our angles at their disposal to confirm that it was the 48 at the start/finish line what would you anticipate they're looking at because I never saw the caution lights come on and the only I can think of is that is that NASCAR would have deemed the caution lights came on before they got to the start/finish line and Poole was not leading at the time of call hats that's possible so the wait it lasts a little longer for Brennan Poole it's gonna make the moment so much special you know we actually see the one actually sitting at the start/finish line as well you know maybe he thinks he has a shot I'd like to see a shot of when that caution came out or when the lights came on and and kind of synched that with what car was out front what's going to transpire here watch there's the caution here's Elliott Sadler watch for the caution light to about that the birthday boy Mike Wow that is so special and it did a great job by NASCAR they said they use every piece of evidence they could find to determine the winner on the last lap Elliott Sadler was clearly ahead when the caution happened you just witnessed a wild finish at Talladega we'll be talking about this one for quite some time we go to overtime Larry and it ends under caution yeah I mean you can say blocking was going on you can say shoving but the biggest thing was going on is the checkered flag was waving for these drivers you see Logano moved up he did get pushed a little bit right there and right about here is gonna be the moment of caution you see the yellow light I'm not gonna say that's right I'm not gonna say that's wrong I question why we didn't let them race it to the end right there Earnhardt jr. just knocked the back bumper cover off of Matt came out what happened was oh boy what happened was that slow car got in their way and he tried to shoot him before they got to the turn hard to counsel patience when there's just four laps to go I mean look at them here they're five and six wide down the backstretch but what you don't realize is that they're they're banging into each other 290 miles an hour here comes jr. he's going to run kids that tried to close [Music] campuses get pushed by everybody and he and Jimmy Johnson got shuffled back in all that I don't know that was a pass under the line we're gonna see here [Music] Carr has called juniors pass a clean pass this is far away remember the start/finish line is way down headed in the turn it's not in the center of the trowel can't do it Larry you can't make it [Music] [Applause] [Music] Nascars review of the videotape shown in the was in the act of passing when he was forceful Oh so the pass holds first to the checkered flag he goes to Victory Lane now let's show you what NASCAR salt as they made their decision that juniors pass was illegal he was pretty much all the way to Matt Kenseth door-to-door when he was forced down below the yellow line we emphasize to the teams that it's a judgment call and you cannot advance your position by going below the yellow line in this particular instance Dale Earnhardt jr. had advanced his position he had already passed 17 before he went below an historic moment in NASCAR but wait we end this weekend of disagreement with a protest to this day Vandiver and his car owner our convinced Brickhouse was a lap down I had a lot of people in my pits that helped me keep track of the cards we thought a racetrack so I knew where mine was all the time and that led for many many laps when you lead and you lead at the end you won race because back in here somewhere and he comes up and passes me well I didn't try to block him I know all that does is put him back in this thing well I could see your gym Vander ahead of me and all I had to do was pass him you know just pick up and pick up a speed a little bit which I did that's what I did the last 11 laughs I was upset yeah and we're all upset you know because I mean you knew we won the race there's no doubt about it Jim I don't want to hurt you all ego no but I really I was just playing with you I'm just trying to make a race I mean it makes it makes a good story for them but it just didn't happen let's face it and I wonder ace no doubt about it everybody knows it here's the thing NASCAR scoring said that the number 99 the Dodge of Brickhouse won the race NASCAR scoring gets the final word in disputes like this once NASCAR decides who won they are not likely to change their mind can't make it happen has about 2,000 feet to the finish line to win the bud shootout for the first time handling low Bush up high here they come three wide to the stripe for the other is probably Kurt Busch because Denny Hamlin went below the yellow line yeah that that was definitely he advanced his position by being out of bounds there's no question on now it is legal for Newman to run him down to the line and Hamlin probably had one of two choices go below the line or wreck Ryan Newman who will go to victory lane that is the question NASCAR officials will decide for us from the Goodyear blimp let's have a look at the run to the checkered flag I mean he is all the way below the line the question is would they deem that coming to the checkered flag and game on and when you I've always thought on the last lap when you can see the checkered flag you did what you do what you got to do the line is still alive but derald does Hamlin get the lead before he goes lead to below the yellow line if so he may be the race winner it's hard to say about that and McMurray he never came off the rear bumper of Kurt Busch in that 22 car Kurt Busch has won the Budweiser Shootout that would that would have been my call but I've you know you never know Danny tell us about the end of the race and the decisions you had to make yeah you got to I mean you know that that yellow lines there to protect us and the fans and stay in safety and you know I just chose to you know take the safer route you know I winning in a shootout it's not worth you know sending the 39 through the grandstands and for me this fast is what we're running if I get into his left rear it will that car will go airborne so for me it's just it was tough for the position I probably should win high just to avoid that whole thing but just you know I was faced to the decision and and obviously I didn't have a contact with 39 Thank You Danny for [Music] [Applause] give that come to the street Casey came five feet is the winner pressured by them to the finish line I believe the vine got there by just a couple of inches maybe the width of that front splitter guys I've never seen anything like that I hope everybody's alright that's a spectacular finish I've seen ever the other question is had to climb further into the linework before they got to the line and if so who is ahead at the moment the caution was called for I'm saying if and the scene that happened behind the leaders and we wait for ruling from NASCAR officials on who has won this race we're looking at NASCAR in the booth next to us the winner of this race has just been called it's Regan Smith in the seven he was apparently ahead at the moment of caution and I am telling you he got that wind was really really aggressive driving gutsy driving on his part to come from the outside he knit he didn't live to push me when he pulled right down across the pack and drove in the front [Music] that was something so watch the red 7 and then watch for the caution lights on the top right of the screen there's the 7 [Music] barely ahead of the 22 Wow and there it is the moment the race finished at that point Kasey Kahne was what third yeah even he was doing in front by the time they got to the line and in NASCAR had to throw the caution yeah they had the yellow lights on when this cars Kasey Kahne down here you just watched the replay what are your thoughts I'm happy for reading and Junior Motorsports guys they have been fast all year and one at the timing line but I just I was really surprised that they threw that caution when so many times they wouldn't in that situation and I wonder the finish line so I was surprised I think that probably puts a second or so but still we had a really good great clip Chevrolet worked with Regan really well with a few different guys throughout the race and we were right there I'm just you know a NASCAR always switches it up so you never know what's gonna happen but I was surprised it through the caution I thought we would have went to the line but I saw the caution before I got the line so I knew I didn't win exciting finished there Kasey Kahne
